Maybe. But politically, the hype about Southern Kaduna is far-fetched. Southern Kaduna voted Obi (LP) in 2023 and came third. The Northern votes were split between APC (muslim-muslim factor) and PDP (Atiku factor). You can check the numbers and draw your analysis. Elrufai ran on muslim-muslim ticket twice (for himself and Uba Sani) and despite the noise, he still won.

I hope APC is not looking to replace Northern Kaduna for Southern Kaduna. That would be a wrong strategy because with the potential merger/coalition, Northern APC Kaduna (Elrufai's factor) will simply align with the very strong Atiku PDP factor in the state. To understand what that would mean, simply add majority of PDP's votes with majority of APC's votes in 2023.

El-Rufai has no factor in Kaduna. Despite his support, Tinubu lost Kaduna. Uba Sani is solidly behind him(Tinubu) and would influence some votes for him in the NK plus the newly aligning Southern Kaduna. The early we know that El-Rufai is finished politically the better to end the hype.

Definitely, Tinubu is not getting the same number he got in 2023 but then you should know that the dynamic has also changed in the South, and Xtian population of North_he is winning all the SW states this time (he lost Osun and Lagos), he's winning some SE States(Ebonyi, and maybe Imo),and coming second in the rest if Obi is on the ballot, he's winning Edo State, and coming closely second in the rest of SS states if Obi runs. He's taking the votes of the Northern Xtians this time seeing that M-M ticket was just a political calculation devoid of religious sentiment (a factor that was against him in 2023). Finally, he's now the Commander in Chief of Armed Forces. You know what that means. All this listed above will close the deficit in the core North.votes.
