Who stole from the coffers? PDP, led by the talented crusader of corruption and stealing, Jonathan. Thank God he is out.

The damage done by that man cannot be quantified.
It is because of statements like this that nemesis is catching up with Buhari, just wait till 2019,by then you would likely be starving undecided

Don't see it that way.

Chinese importers will used it as a bargaining chip which may really pay off.

It's all about the degree of necessity, anticipation and availability of options.

Politics › Without China... by peacengine(op): 5:25pm On Apr 17, 2016
We were one of the fastest growing economies in the world until last quarter of 2015, when we dropped according to IMF ranking, we were the biggest economy in Africa, we were the toast of foreign investors, our Naira had value, and we called the shots in Africa.

Why do gullible Nigerians suddenly think we need China to develope our country for us? This China /Nigeria deal is over hyped because we seem to have short term memories in this country. We have forgotten how good we were doing

Assuming China comes here to develope us, how do we maintain such developments? Tribalism and politics have blinded us to the truth.

Moderator, I think posts like this should not only earn a ban, but total deactivation of account. If social media is banned, definitely NairaLand is being banned. This is a clear violation of rule 7 as seen below.

Rule 7. Don't say, do, or THREATEN to do anything that's detrimental to the security, success, or reputation of Nairaland.
I second Mydn44 please look into this

I have worked with Indians, I believe they are no different. What they do is take all the managerial positions while leaving the low level ones for us. Trust our people, instead of uniting against them, I am sorry to say one particular tribe known for back biting, started an eye service campaign. We were paid stipends but worked our asses out all day long. It was an experience I pray will never happen again.

Granted this Chinese /Nigeria deal may be a good one, but it raises some concerns. Why does the Chinese want us to repay the loan in dollars but flood our market with Yuan, will this not deplete our dollar reserves but increase theirs? Why won't they accept repayment in Yuan

Often times we hear opposition come out to complain about buhari's lack of economic policy direction, I keep wondering if there were any visible economic policy set up by previous governments especially jonathan's administratiom. One thing is certain no serious government just comes and starts rolling out policies without studying what is on ground, besides most times I don't get carried away by all this internet users cum professional economist, Nigerians know solutions to all problems when they are on the sidelines but put them there they fail woefully, one fact is nigerian economy cannot be solved by mere textbook solutions due to poor statistics and poor/no data records. The present government is gradually taking on the economy issues and I believe with time results would begin to show just like in the area of insurgency. Now my question is what economic policy direction did the jonathan administration geared towards. Sorry for any typographical error, used my phone. Thanks

The replies on your thread are sufficient to answer your questions. As for you, why are you asking of only Jonathan' economic policies when OBJ ruled for eight years as against Jonathan's five?

Vision 20-20

PDP took over government in 1999 when Nigeria was 94th highest Economy in the World and left in 26th in 2015.

The vision is realizable within the next five years.

PDP eradicated polio, ICT penetration from 0.2% to over 60%, and a new contributory pension scheme now with trillions of Naira in pension fund

The capitalization of the Nigerian Stock Exchange grew from less than N1 trillion to N12 trillion as at handover.

Jonathan/PDP reduced Poverty by half
Jonathan left 12000Mw power capacity.
Jonathan's agricultural policies were fruitful.
God bless you Sir. The OP wanted to ridicule Jonathan, but with this explanation, he has been ridiculed

The GSM they use to communicate with people, it is a result of PDP government privatization of the telecommunications Industry, I can go on, but let me observe.

The rate at which Jonathan watched Boko Haram grow leading to all sort of atrocities should not be ignored.

The guy cant be walking around freely when these parents are suffering for the last 2 years!. Jonathan at least needs to apologies to them for failing them, and show some form of remorse on this national embarassment
Is it Suenn you want to arrest him? You go and arrest him yourself, afterall this is democracy.

If we are borrowing from the Chinese whose currency is the Yuan, explain why they intend flooding our market with Yuan and expect us to pay back in dollars
Politics › Nigeria/china Deal, Matters Arising by peacengine(op): 12:28am On Apr 16, 2016
Learned folks in the house, this question is for you : Why does the Chinese government want us to pay back the $2 billion loan in $$$$ instead of Yuan? Will this not decease our dollar reserve and increase theirs? Why don't they want us to repay in Yuan?

If they intend flooding our market with their currency why is the loan documented in dollars instead of Yuan, I was expecting the agreement to be signed and the figures stated in Yuan instead of in dollar currency, am I missing something?
