I know this has been said before. But it worked out for me. To those looking to book tickets, best time to check is at night/ midnight. I just got a ticket for 320k. My flight is on Saturday. Other airlines had tickets for over 500k for Saturday. I picked up my passport today. Its a very stupid airline. Royal Air Maroc. I heard they don't even provide hotel accommodation. But with the extra money you would be saving on other tickets, I think it's worth it. To those looking for tickets, keep checking at night. I would be spending a few days in New York with my friends before flying to Dallas. If anyone else would be on that flight Saturday Morning, please send me a DM. Misery loves company . And this is going to be one miserable long flight. I packed a couple of good books to read. Including Dan Brown's Origin. I can share if you are pretty.

Lol... I have a first class in my degree. Getting scholarships won't be hard. My year one is now settled as he would be making full payment to the school next week. I just have to worry about getting a scholarship or G.A for year 2.

Lmfaooo . Don't sound so hurt nigger. I do understand the pain you are going through. Life would turn out well for you ok.

Of course I am a vain, very beautiful, very brilliant young lady. I do have every reason to be proud.

I'm sorry your life is miserable and you didn t have a privileged upbringing. It's no fault of mine.

Blame your parents for whatever chaos your life emanated from.

I'm done of course with this thread. So any reply you post after this shall not be seen. Anyone who wants to ask me anything can send me a direct message.

EZEIGBO1OFIMO:

I have had to drum this over the years and more especially to rich kids like you, The consular officers at Walter carrington are not looking at your dressing, a whole lot of them get passed around from countries to countries, they have seen the good bad and ugly when it comes to human apparel, so they are not you and other condescending Nigerians cheesy who are going to look down on a man just because he has decided no to "dress well" according to your standards.

At this point, you remind me of Milo Yiannopoulous, who thinks because he has a British accent and says stupid things, then he is smarter than "Liberals" cheesy grin. The Visa officers have pretty much made most of their decision, by the time they run through your DS-160, and insofar you can communicate in basic English, they have no problem with you. English is not the native language of Nigerians, and for most Nigerians it has had to become a second Language due to circumstances in a third world country situation that we live in. The sensible, and not condescending folks like you, at Walter carrington know this, and hence it is always reiterated that your only reason for coming is to ascertain the validity of your claims and not to "size you up"

I'm irreligious myself (and consider some atheists asshøles anyway), and if a person gains psychological confidence by praying, then how is it anybody's business, the very idea by some atheist that they need to be killjoys ,and like the Grinch who stole Christmas, and shoot down religious folks is just plain st*pid. If a kid believing in Santa makes him happy, then leave him alone, he poses no harm to the state. So also, if your a VI's applicant wants to pray, let him find emotional comfort in doing so, Çest Fini. grin grin grin

and that is why your spoilt and condescending bratty self isn't a Visa officer. Honestly, are clothes the only things that give your life meaning grin grin grin. The great folks at Walter carrington are not looking for well dressed folks to approve, and quite frankly it's because well dressed folks have constantly tried to con the US embassy, that's why we have to go and stand for interviews there. I'll stress this again, The consular officers do not give s damn about your dressing; if you have filled your DS-160 and have proven yourself to be a genuine Student, that you don't have to wear givenchy shirt for nothing biko grin grin grin

I wonder what you'll have to say about my wonderful Indian friends who decide to have their interviews in English grin grin, na Im be say you for deport all of them join

At this point, you have proven yourself to be a Vain condescending woman, your life revolves around clothes and class, Poor brilliant folks looking to make a difference and move up the socio economic class, do not deserve any chance by the like of you . SHAME !!!! SHAME!!!. FOR SHAME!!!. Fortunately, the embassy isn't filled with punks like you, they understand and see a life a whole lot differently, and only want to determine the validity of your claims to a US Visa. Once again SHAME ON YOU!!! cheesy cheesy
And some people who prayed after you certainly got, as I know for a fact that you were definitely not the only person granted a visa.
THE ONLY LESSON FROM YOUR POST IS THAT YOU'RE A VAIN, CONDESCENDING AND EUGENIC INDIVIDUAL, WHO PURPOSELY LIED TO OBTAIN VISA AND IS CLAIMING HIGH MORAL GROUNDING AGAINST OTHER RELIGIOUS FOLKS. YOUR MILITANT ATHEISM IS CONDESCENDING AND SILLY cheesy , YOU SHOULD FILL YOUR LIFE WITH MORE PURPOSE OTHER THAN YOUR NAUSEATING BRITISH ACCENT AND CLOTHING grin grin

One thing i have to say is your looks matter a looot. These people have to interview a lot of people every day. They dont have time for story. One look at You, And they already know if you are real or fake.

Then your spoken English as well.

One guy was shouting at a V.O today. Saying something about coming back home to make Maggie... lol. It was so funny.

Another guy was asked what he would do after his degree and he said he wants to come home. Come home and do what? He couldn't answer.

In the 1 hour I stood there, it was easy for me to predict those who would be approved and those who would be denied.

And all my guesses turned out right. It's not about prayers.
You don't need to wear a suit. You can look very good in a shirt and trousers.

Your look is the first good thing. Your spoken English is next. I heard some people speak and I told myself if I were the V.O, I won't approve these ones.

Speak clearly, distinctly and like a graduate.

Don't dress up in bend down select clothes and think one V.O won't notice how cheap you look.

Wear a nice shirt or gown, put on very light make up and put a glasses on your face to give you a more serious appearance .

Ok. POC... I don't leave shit to prayers because I am an atheist. I do not pray or believe in any god.

Secondly it's 12k dollars after tax. And like i stated earlier there is a closing balance of almost 50k dollars in the account. I'm not an idiot. I know how these things work. He can afford to cover my tuition and stil have more than enough. I lived in the U.K for more than 6 years and this is not my first or second visit to the United States.

Thirdly, I already stated earlier that this was all rushed. As at September 30th, I was supposed to be on my way back to the UK. But things didn t work out. I had to rush this admission process so I don't lose a year again. Application closed first week of November. So i had exactly one month only to write GRE, send transcripts, apply and do all i had to do.

Lastly, you can give your opinion without sounding like an ass. Honestly you have the option of ignoring if you have no manners.

Have a great day man

You won't. At least not until next fall... Nigeria is the only place I know where serious issues are left to "hope" and "prayer". In other countries, people set plans/work goals and work towards them.

I have edited the post. Yeah I honestly didnt do a lot of planning. I was very sure i was going back to the UK in September. I had the admission and all but plans didn t work.
Is there no way I can still get a form of assistantship or something? Even when I get there? Or do i have to wait till fall? I have a first class honours. As for living expenses, he said he would give me 500 dollars a Month since i would be living with his friend(who he would sort out bills with). I was thinking of staying with a friend before but she recently moved Ohio. And do I stick with uncle or guardian?

quote author=femi312 post=63837198]You might want to edit that your long post, this is a public forum and VO do visit here. Your concerns and worries just boil down to the fact that you did not plan well, you put the cart before the horse. With your UK degree you should have gotten one form of assistanship/funding if you had done proper research. At this point there is nothing you can really do, if you cant get a relatives soa..then you might just go ahead with using his own and hope for the best. However you really believe he will pay tuition of 10k for at least 3 semester each? Do you ever consider if you guys breakup? what of living expenses? Just like you said, putting your hopes on anyone that is not parent or immediate blood is risky. Nothing is certain in life. Anyways consider editing that post.
Hi guys. So I booked my visa interview last week and fortunately got first week Jan. Before This, I was only seeing January 30th. I kept refreshing at midnight and early in the morning especially. Took me many days of sleepless night, but it was worth it. If you need a new visa date, I suggest you do the same.

Senate111:

Visa approved this morning by the white lady @ window 3.

This is how my transcript went.

VO: good morning and how are you?

Me: good morning, am fine thank you.

VO: Why do you want to go to the usa?

Me: for my master degree in Agricultural science with specialization in agribusiness economics @ tamuc.

VO: Why this university?

Me: I chose TAMUC firstly, because I wanted a university that will give me maximum exposure to the application of advance technology in agriculture, as well as a faculty member whose research interest is in line with my current work experience.

I found the research work of Proff A, who currently carries out research on the application of statistical method on economic data and the use of linear programing model and quantitative technique for forecasting and decision marking using simulation.

I reached out to him and hopefully, I will be working with him come January.

Also, during the period of application, I was in contact with some of the alumni of the university and also with the director school of agricultural science, Dr M, where I got to know that TAMUC offers a Corporative and an Experiential Educational programme, which integrate classroom experience into real life world; connecting student with expert and professional in their field of study. This I believe will give me the hands on experience required to be more competitive as an Agronomist when I return home.

VO: what is Agricultural business economics.

Me: Agribusiness economics is a combination of two programmes. Agricultural economics and agricultural business. Agricultural economics is an applied field of economics that is primarily concerned with the application of economic principle for the optimization of production and distribution of food and fibre while Agribusiness is the business of agriculture. Said somths that I can't remember again.

VO: how did apply to this university.

Me: Applied through the university website, sent my transcript, wrote the GRE, got a waiver for the TOEFL.

VO: What's you GRE score

Me: 297

VO: how many universities did you apply to.

Me: 3, named them.

VO: what's your highest degree?

Me: B. Agriculture

Vo: what specialization?

Me: Agricultural extension and economics.

VO: what university and what year did you graduate?

Me: landmark university, July 17 2015.

VO: what have you been doing after graduation?

Me: I immediately joined my dad's Agribusiness company before going for my NYSC after which I returned back.

VO: what would this degree do for you?

Me: it will equip me with managerial competence, research and analytical skills as well as good business ethics to assume the position of an agricultural economist in my dads company.

VO: what does your dad company do?

Me: its an agribusiness company involve in production processing and distribution of agricultural product; we also provide independent technical service to our client.

VO: how many staff does your dad have?

Me: 25 full staff, and many more contract staff esp. during production. We also have other farms we partner with.

VO: what is you position and responsibilities?

Me: I work as an agricultural data analyst, and I work in a team whose responsibilities are to create competitive advantage as well as maximize profit for the company. We research and analyse the various aspect that influence the agricultural industry, taking cognizant of govt policies and how dey affect our business. ( At this point I knew I sparked somth in her which lead to the next bloody question)

VO: Explain what you mean by govt policy and give example to buttress your point?

Me: No vex, at this point I begin sweat under my 1$million suit. But by Gods grace, I was able to tell her somth about the land tenure system in Nigeria and how during my research I found out that most farmers cultivate less than 2 ha each year because the process of getting land from govt is so cumbersome.

Then my head recollected that I did a project for someone on ATA (Agriculture Transformation Agenda) during Jonathan administration. Knowing that the New minister of agriculture who studied French has scattered what Dr Adeshino did during his time as minister of Agriculture. I started to download everything I knew.

VO: Do you have any relatives in the US of A?

Me: No

VO: Whose your sponsor?

Me: Dad and my elder brother.

VO: what does you bro do?

Me: Real Estate financing and he deals on cars.

Types for about 30s, then I head congra.....and I became deaf at this point. I sha noticed she brought out a white paper, cycled somth and passed it to me. Pls, can anybody tell me what she said.

Honestly, it can only be God. I prayed, fasted and also worked hard. Gods name be praised alone.

Hello. I am also going to Texas A and M commerce. Congratulations on getting the Visa. We should hook up

Hello!
I really don't know why the consulate is forcing us to use DB (maybe they get a cut, who knows). You should write an email to them, as well as Commerzbank if your account can be used for that purpose, or if it can be done with a new account, or if it must be DB.

As for Marburg vs Kiel; I don't know anything about Marburg, but Kiel is a nice small place. If you followed the thread (at least from the latter half of part 2) you'd know that Kiel has a relatively large community here smiley
No. You don't understand me. A pounds account is different from an Euro account. I have an Euro account with commerze bank which operates in Germany.

And the reason why I asked is because In past threads, the DB denied a few people and they were asked to open another account.

So therefore, it means DB is only the recommended but not the compulsory account.

I don't mind opening the DB. I just want to be sure I won't have problems later. E.g questions like 'since you already have an account with commerze bank, why open with DB?'

louisilva:

to make things easier for you it is advised u learn the german language. either in Nigeria or in germany.

as to what uni-assist said i cant really say. didnt pass that route

for the blocked account issue, it is mandatory to open a blocked account with a german bank. the embassy usually prefers Deustche Bank. having another account in the uk doesnt matter.

between, i tot u said u have read the few pages in the thread. read from page 2 of this current thread to make things easier for u.

To those in Germany, which of this universities would be better off for me? City wise, Job and all? I speak English and a bit of French but no German...

I don't have admission letter yet, but Uni-assist said I can book for a visa interview with the email they sent to me. Has anyone tried that before?

Lastly about the blocked account, I already have 1 Euro account which I opened in the UK. Do I still have to open another euro account? Won't there be problems?
I know this is a lot of questions.

But please kindly answer the ones you can.

Many thanks in advance for your help.

Hi Everyone.

I followed this thread from the first part. It's been a really long read over the last few days.

I have a couple of questions please.
I have a B.A honours first class from the UK. Because of the exchange rate and high cost of living, I decided to go somewhere else for my masters. Canada application is taking too long.

I applied to 2 universities via uniassist in Germany a few weeks ago.

I received a mail from uniassist yesterday saying my application has been forwarded to the schools.

Today, one of the schools mailed me about a Skype interview.

I applied to university of kiel and the university of Marburg.

Not a lot of people there from the things I've been reading.

What do I expect from the interview? I mean questions and all?
