I recently did a review search on comments made about the school and what i read isn't that pleasing especially when it comes to issuing CAS. Also, WAEC result is only accepted if its not over 7 years. Mine is more than 10years which means taking the test remains an option if i'm going with the school.

I got a conditional offer from the university of law business school for January 2023 and the condition states that i provide a result that shows my English proficiency. Either IELTS or I take their in-house English test.

I have English as a medium attestation letter from my undergrad school and i intend attaching it to my waec result. Is this enough to waive the Ielts result that's required? I am not ready to write an English test.

Is there anyone who also received an offer from the school with same condition? How did you go about it please? I have an international bursary of 3000 to be deducted from the tuition if all conditions are met. Someone please help a sister out. Thank you

Thank so much for this @Moshkom. I initially paid 67,200 for the B1/B2 visa fee so it might not be necessary to pay another for the F1. If in case I need to, I’ll have no choice than to pay.

Also, I have a valid UK visitors visa, do you think it will be of support in my application after I change to F1? Will I need to fill another DS 160 for the F1 visa?

Omo! A lot of applications for and from you, for only USA. God when?! Lol.

Nice one. The best bet is going with F1 visa, because others are not really sure. Let’s put it in a way that you go for the visit and/or the invitation visa and you probably did not get it, now you would be left to settle for the F1. Meanwhile the records of those two would be in your profile already and during the F1 it might be against you, the VO would be like this one is desperate to enter USA, that he’s tried this and that; now coming for F1 to try again.

All story short, settle going with F1, CALL / EMAIL the embassy’s support system, they would easily change your cgi profile to F1 for you. It’s not something biggie, IF you paid 67,200 for the other profile (visit / invitation) because F1 is 67,200, IF NOT you would have to pay a new visa fee after they switch your profile for you.

Good you already have a date in May sef.

Thanks a lot. My mum confirmed that I was given the MMR vaccination at birth but the card got missing while we moved places. I’ll check with an hospital for it. Thanks again.

You can ask your parents if you were vaccinated when you were little. Ask them to check their files for Measles, Mumps and Rubella. If they cannot find it, then visit any clinic or general hospital around you. Worst case scenario, u can get the shot at ASU students health center once u arrive US for a fee.

As regards SEVIS fee payment pls visit https://www.fmjfee.com/i901fee/index.html and fill out your details correctly and remember to have your I-20 handy cos your SEVIS ID will be required. Print your confirmation. I think I heard that GTBank now receive payment for that, if not ask a friend in the US to help you make the payment.

Lastly, I'm not too sure about the international passport expiration, but I think it should work because its validity exceeds 6 months. So you can always renew it once u get here. Hope that helps...

It’s very likely you have an existing account registered with your details. I once experienced same. I called and sent a mail to the Nigerian embassy to deactivate all accounts linked with my passport number and name. Check the embassy website for help contact.

I operate one of these savings accounts that you are not expected to withdraw from after some period of time. Mine is 5 years...2020-2025

But looking at the way things are going in Nigeria; especially how the Naira is jealously losing value with nothing concrete being done about it, prices of basic items skyrocketing, inflation, no meaningful interest paid on our small small savings, not being sure of what will become of this country, etc. I am seriously thinking of saving money in a more meaningful foreign currency.

Fact is: what N100k can buy in April 2021, come December 2021, that same 100k can't afford the same item.

So I want to ask...is there a way I can convert my naira into dollars and save the same in any of the commercial banks we have around here. Or is there any way at all I can be saving money in a foreign currency while being in Nigeria?

My iphone 6s has been showing the apple logo which has been going on and off for 2 days. It prompted me to update to the recent IOS over the weekend and the issue started after i got connected to my office WIFI on monday. Tried taking it to a repair centre in which a new battery was tested but the apple booting logo keeps coming up without going to the home page. Connected to itunes on a laptop for an update but it keeps bringing some error code or showing 'itunes cannot identify your device''.

Has anyone experienced this and what is the possible solution please?

I reside in Lagos if anyone wants to refer me to a good apple service centre.

How i wish i can encourage myself this same way. I am so sad with my result after putting so much effort in preparing during break at work and after work at night. 1st attempt LRWS - 7,6,6,7.5. Read almost all the parts of this thread, practiced with some materials shared here, likewise youtube. I expected nothing less than 8 in both listening and reading because i assumed i did it very well. Hoping for the best next time.

Am in so much pain now as I just got to see my result after a lot of anxiety, my 1st attempt LRWS - 7.5, 6, 5.5, 7.5. Thanks to all contributors here whose stories has encouraged me as am not giving up.

And am staying glued to NL till my success story lands.

I don't intend reapplying now. Would wait and hopefully i will get a visa when i reapply again. Thank you.

Sorry about the refusal. Yoi cannot appeal a US visa refusal. You can only re apply. Re applying immediately might show desperation. Why don't you wait a bit. Anyways i am not a VO just saying my own. You can take the risk and reapply but have it in mind that its a 50/50 chance.

@Obernix, thanks for your response the other day. My interview with my mum ended up as a bitter sweet . My mum was issued a visa but I got rejected.

My mum and I have been invited by my Aunt and only sis whom we’ve not seen in years for visiting. I have strong ties here in Nigeria with a good job, my personal business and my masters which is still in view. My mum is retired but has a temporary job with the judiciary for retirees. I don’t mind if i’m given a blue paper but I really want my mum to be issued a visa just to see my sister. I have travelled to some African countries but my mum hasn’t travelled before. Do you think we have a chance to be issued a visa, especially my mum
