Politics › Re: Senator Uche Ekwunife: The Woman Of Substance Poised To Serve Anambra by peleson1: 3:57pm On Sep 08, 2025 |
Onokussie: By Emeka Chiaghanam
When history remembers the voices that dared to rise in Nigerian politics, one name will stand among the boldest: Senator Uche Lilian Ekwunife. Fondly called Iyom, she has built a career defined not by chance, but by conviction; not by fleeting applause, but by a deep-seated commitment to service. Today, as she steps forward as the Deputy Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) alongside Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu, Ndi Anambra are presented with more than a political ticket, they are offered a partnership of vision, character, and proven capacity.
A Political Pedigree Forged in Resilience Senator Uche Ekwunife’s political story is one of persistence, courage, and triumph against the odds. In 2007, she broke into the male-dominated House of Representatives, representing Anaocha/Njikoka/Dunukofia Federal Constituency. There, she distinguished herself as a passionate voice for her people, championing bills and motions that spoke directly to the needs of ordinary Nigerians, education, youth empowerment, and infrastructural renewal.
Her work ethic and fearless contributions soon set her apart. By 2015, she ascended to the Senate, representing Anambra Central, where her impact deepened. She spoke truth to power, stood firmly for her constituency, and carved a reputation as a woman of substance. Though her first senatorial victory was overturned by the courts, the people’s love for her never wavered. In 2019, she stormed back into the Senate, reclaiming her seat with resounding support. This triumph, after a setback, cemented her as a resilient force, an iron lady who does not give up when challenges arise.
Ekwunife’s political journey has never been about occupying positions for their sake. Rather, it has been about results, impact, and representation. She has always understood that leadership is not a title but a trust.
Leadership that Connects Politics, at its best, is about people. And Senator Ekwunife has mastered the rare art of connecting with the grassroots. She is not a distant leader locked away in offices of marble. She is the woman who walks the markets, visits widows, embraces young people with hope, and listens to voices that are often ignored.
This accessibility has been her greatest strength. Her constituents describe her as a leader who listens, genuinely, attentively, and with empathy. Her speeches in the National Assembly are not detached rhetoric but reflections of the lived struggles of her people. Whether fighting for better education, supporting local businesses, or calling for stronger infrastructure, her voice has always echoed the heartbeat of the masses.
She embodies inclusivity in leadership. For women, she represents possibility, a reminder that gender should never be a barrier to leadership. For youths, she is proof that determination and resilience open doors, no matter the odds. For Ndi Anambra, she is a trusted leader who knows their stories and speaks their language.
Humanitarian Works: Service Beyond Politics Senator Ekwunife’s humanitarian footprint stretches far beyond the walls of the National Assembly. To her, philanthropy is not seasonal and not a tool for elections. It is a way of life. Through her scholarship schemes, countless children who once faced the despair of dropping out now have a future through education. These are not faceless statistics but living testimonies, young men and women who proudly call her their benefactor.
Her empowerment programmes for women have birthed small businesses, lifting families out of poverty and restoring dignity to homes. She has been particularly attentive to widows, often left to bear life’s burdens alone. With support packages and financial grants, she has turned despair into hope.
The youth have also benefitted from her passion for empowerment. Through skill acquisition programmes, many now thrive in crafts, technology, and trade. For Senator Ekwunife, creating opportunities for young people is more than a policy, it is a mission.
Community projects stand as further evidence of her humanitarian heart. From rural electrification to borehole projects, health interventions to community halls, her initiatives have lit up villages, quenched thirsts, and brought people together.
Qualities that Define Her Senator Uche Ekwunife is more than a politician; she is a leader with rare qualities that distinguish her from the pack. • Resilience: She has faced setbacks yet emerged stronger each time. Her ability to bounce back with courage inspires confidence that she will weather any political storm. • Empathy: She leads with compassion, ensuring that policies and programmes touch real lives. • Integrity: Her name carries no scandal, her image remains clean, and her politics are marked by transparency. • Grassroots Appeal: She commands loyalty and admiration across towns and villages, making her a formidable mobiliser. • Bridge-building: She transcends partisan divides, building alliances that bring people together rather than tearing them apart. These qualities make her not only a suitable deputy governor but also a potential game-changer in the governance of Anambra.
Why Her Candidacy Matters The November 8, 2025 governorship election is more than a political contest; it is a chance to redefine leadership in Anambra. With Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu as the governorship candidate and Senator Uche Ekwunife as his running mate, the APC presents Ndi Anambra with a ticket that is both credible and formidable.
Her presence on the ticket speaks volumes. She brings with her an unmatched grassroots network, legislative experience, and the moral authority of someone who has consistently delivered. For women, her candidacy symbolises inclusion and progress. For young people, it opens new horizons of opportunity. For the state, it signals a future where governance is not about empty promises but about tested leaders who have proven themselves in service.
Together, Ukachukwu and Ekwunife represent a partnership of builders, one known for transforming businesses and communities, the other known for legislative excellence and humanitarian compassion. It is a partnership rooted in vision, driven by service, and powered by the people.
The Road Ahead As Anambra marches towards November, the choice before Ndi Anambra is clear. Will they continue recycling the same voices that offer more of the same? Or will they embrace a fresh ticket of competence, compassion, and courage?
Senator Uche Ekwunife’s candidacy brings hope. She offers not only experience but also empathy, not only political strength but also humanitarian vision. She stands as a bridge between leadership and the people, between promises and performance.
Her life is a story of rising against the odds. Her leadership is a testimony of service beyond self. Her candidacy is an invitation to Ndi Anambra to dream bigger and reach higher.
A Call to Destiny Senator Uche Ekwunife is more than a name on the ballot paper. She is a servant-leader, a builder of lives, and a woman of courage. She has walked the hard roads of politics, triumphed through resilience, and given selflessly to the people she loves.
Now, as she joins Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu on the APC ticket, she offers Ndi Anambra not just a promise, but a proven pathway to progress.
This election is a call to destiny. Ndi Anambra must choose competence, character, and compassion. They must choose leaders who have built before politics and who will continue to build after politics.
In Senator Uche Ekwunife, they have a deputy governor in waiting whose life embodies service, whose leadership radiates strength, and whose vision promises hope.
On November 8, 2025, the future calls. Ndi Anambra must answer boldly. The choice is clear. The time is now. The ticket is strong. Vote Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu and Senator Uche Ekwunife—APC. The builders. The leaders. The future. Pls update us on her educational background. We need that too |

Konquest: I have to step in to correct the massive historical disinformation in your post! Let's be clear.
What influence or subduing are you going on about here? DON'T make misleading comments here by giving that girl named Raye any iota of credit for any monthly stipend increase.
The NYSC and the Nigerian Goverment had already planned since late 2024 to increase the monthly stipend for these young ones in 2025 and these FACTS were all over online media outlets and more. Eventually, the overdue stipend increase was carried out. The NYSC and the Federal Government MUST be commended for fulfilling that promise! It CLEARLY had NOTHING to do with that girl in the video who just ranted away blindly in her original video in my opinion. The quest to bring down the cost of food items over there in Nigeria lies LARGELY with the State Governors and their Commissioners of Agriculture who are closer to the people NOT the FG, as can be seen with the recent launch of 150 CNG-fueled 40ft haulage trucks by the Lagos State Governor under the "Produce for Lagos" program with the immediate plan to crash the cost of food by 50% while cutting off those insidious middle men. I watched a video just last week where the cost of foods and commodities in Yobe State have dropped sharply with very "low inflation rate" due to the FACT that Yobe farmers were given totally free tractors for cultivation. That's another creative way that shows that the Nigerian Governors and their Commissioners of Agriculture have to sit up to tackle high food costs and inflation. Period. Clear off from here . Nonsense people. The girl Raye is in your face . Go and chop her nysc cert na |

Nothing here.
Happy father in a hurry to snap with his daughters .
His late wife was my elder sisters friend in allied bank far back before they got married and Orji was young and very super rich that my sister wondered how he got so much money and influence at that young age.
Warning her friend ifeoma to be careful though .
They both got married and ifeoma had a domestic accident which injured her and she became unstable and later flown to Maryland in USA where she was with her kids too.
She eventually came back but died anyways. May her soul rest in peace.
Orji is still my younger brother's godfather, Orji himself maybe bad as a governor of abia which I believe he regrets and has decided to serve his senatorial zone with dexterity, he is doing well as a senator. He loves his bende and ogboo people so if I am to speak, I will say he has used this opportunity to redeem his self in service.
Personally , you can't meet Orji and not like him , he is very charming and has charisma .
You may not like him politically but personally, you will not meet him and not like him and he is very hospitable .
I don talk my own finish |
