You have a fetish for celebrities - if black celebrities want real change why are they not talking about the debilitating effects of children not growing up with their fathers? Why are they not talking about the catastrophic proplem of blacks slaughtering there children in the womb? Why are they not talking about the very low academic success in the African American populous. Even CNN acknowledged that Nigerians are doing better than all ethnic groups in America. The stats prove that. Do you really think that the Black community can walk away from the consequences of abortion or quite simply bad family values? Why oh why are not these celebrities not at the very least mentoring other Blacks and showing them how to succeed in life? Influence and change starts with you my friend. And by the by im from the UK and im seeing black folks ( west indian and african) doing well here not because of celebrities but because unlike you they are NOT LAZY. They understand that change starts with the family. Strong families (Dad and Mom at the helm) produce strong communities. If we do not get the basics right then all our protest will get us nowhere. Originalsly: Hmmm.......is this hogwash you be swallowing from your cousin? ....or you came up with this all by yourself? Celebrities have the influence to bring about change....the change your cousin is enjoying in the US...the change you are not enjoying in Naija ...change that can come about if your celebrities use their influence /power. |

I get so cheezed off when ignornat Nigerians start spouting stupidness like this. We dont need Celebrities because they dont give a damn about the common man at all. They only spout what is PC or liberally correct. American celebrities are charlatans. Ask Lebron whos going to pay for all that "free stuff"? Ask him whether hes paying the 90% tax rate that many on the left want Americans to pay. Ask him whether hes involved in supporting impoverished families himself. The guys stupid. Look at the history of American celebrities that really went out there way to talk truth especially during the Jim Crow days - they suffered terribly and that was during a time of real in your face racism. This Lebron only want to appear relevant because hes making money. So what man. There are celebrities using there own money funding projects that are helping Blacks and guess what you dont hear about it because it not what the liberals want you to hear. Wake up man - it not government that will solve blacks problems but oursleves. I spoke to my cuz who lives in America and he told me that Black Americans look down on Nigerians because they are successful. Why are nigerians successful - government handouts Freebies?? Or simply have a cultural mindset that says "I will success no mater the cost" Idiots Originalsly: Naija needs its celebrities to be activisits like Lebron..... speak out and speak up for the masses whose voice is never heard. He speaks the bitter truth....and does a whole lot to improve the lives of others. What do our celebrities do? Put this in your pipe and smoke it. Not even the churches do this...so why hate the guy?..or his message? |

Thanks King Lebron for speaking out against Black on Black violence that leaves Black families devastated by the loss of loved ones to senseless violence year after year. Thanks King Lebron for speaking out against the eugenics program and Black holocaust called ABORTION that is the number one killer of Blacks in America. Millions have been murdered by the Racist visionary, Margaret Sanger who created Planned Parenthood for that very purpose to wreck and obliterate the black family. She was successful and people like you have said nothing. People like you bash on Trump while Black America gos to HELL. No skin in the game. Well cheers Lebron. Many Blacks really do not care about your money and fame. Go back to your House negro your slave masters (Demoncrats) are calling you swiperthefox: Donald Trump is a rascist, misogynist, corrupt no good dumb man. His professor in college said he has not seen a more dumb student in his life paraphrased by me. It was racism that led to his winning through electoral college since only 305 people elect American President against the will of overwhelming majority. Now racism is on all time high. White people are calling cops on black people for nothing and what does Trump do absolute nothing. People here supporting him for religious reason are all hypocrites. A man that commits almost all the 7 sins is who you are championg over better tolerant people. A liar, we used to hear there was no collusion with Russia now he and Rudy his attorney are now saying there was collusion it is not a crime. The worst rascist President ever. Thanks for speaking out King James and your new school open to everyone at no cost is very commendable. |

But went to the WC and scored a fantastic goal against Argentina. Ideye is old news - if you still shilling for Ideye then Nigeria should just award its spot to some other country in Nigeria - im not dissing him im simply saying we must have better strikers than him wayodude: Legendary Siasia abi??
Do you remember the 1994 World Cup Qualifier against Ivory Coast? We were 1 nil up right there in Abidjan in front of 50,000 boisterous Ivorian fans. We were under the cosh big time and we hit them with a fast counter, it was Siasia and Yekini with only the CIV keeper (I remember his Alain Goumene) to beat and we go 2 nil up and win the game for sure. What did Siasia do? He didn't even work the keeper, he put the ball wide!! We ended up losing that game 2-1 and he got benched for Amokachi for the subsequent games and rightly so!
Legendary? no thanks. He is no different from Ideye. |

Hes gonna be sponsored??!!!?? What the HECK Has this administration no shame. Why not sponsor a youngish local like one of the boys from 94 - 98. Rorh is old - what good will extra training give him but another few years with some other nation - dagggggg!!!!!!! Mannnnnn!!!!! Wotttttt!!! ? Why do we hate ourselves so much man ?? Oasis007: We were much more an Underdog during the Qualifiers. Majority of Nigerians had written off the our Chances after the Draws were made. Majority weren't expecting them to win the Group, thus they were less pressured and were able to maximize it to good Effect.
Rohr wanted to play the same Card in Russia, but failed woefully. He wanted the Team to be viewed as Underdog but our Jerseys brought us to the World. He wanted low Attention on the Team, but our Performance during the Qualifiers couldn't help either.
The Essence of Friendlies to to prepare the Team, to experiments some Ideas, look for the Positives and Negatives in the Team, and do your best as a Coach to fix the Holes in the Team.
Rohr tried out 3 - 5 - 2 against Argies and it worked. Damn it was like a Bomb. I couldn't believe it Bruh. We were great and composed. Why didn't he build on it?! The same Formation England tried out during Friendlies that gave them good Results and Vibes is still the same that carries them to the Semi-Final Bruh.
I don't wanna talk much about Rohr's Failure buddy, coz it's very upsetting. He's damn too weak on the World Stage. He's not the one we need for Qatar 2022, except he's gonna be sponsored on further Coaching Courses in Europe under the Top Teams Managers in the 5 best Leagues in Europe and World at large. |

Thats the biggest mystery yet. I think the real reason is that he had no vision of success here but equally he was out of his depth here. We qualified well against tough opposition and then thrashed the Argies and from theere we regressed from there on. The friendlies were all a waste of time because he learnt nothing from it at all. When i saw nigeria against argentina in the friendly i said with that formation we will do well and looking at the WC the standard has been poor. England making it to the semi finals is a joke based on how they have played. Imagine this team against the team of 1990. I do beleive that Mikel must go - hes to much of a personality, commands to much respect but does nothing Oasis007:

You nailed Bruh. He played the damn Formation against the Argies in a Friendly and it was fantastic.
He ought to have built on it. Work out tactical Plans and Lineup that gonna perfectly fit into the Formation, but the Franco-German Salisu Yusuf thought we are still playing Qualifiers.
Why did he fail to learn from the Friendlies?! Did he fail to see the Squad was good for 3 -. 5 - 2 Formation?! Tactically many things were wrong with the Team at the Mundial.
Rohr ain't the Answer for the Eagles. I ain't saying he shouldn't retained, but he's not right man to prepare the Team for the Qatar 2022. |

The problem is not the manager but the country. You cannot ignore the obvious problems that have plagued Nigeria socially and economically for years and think that Nigeria can magically do well at the WC. Our league needs a massive overhauling to turn it into a PRODUCT that earns CAPITAL. It must be run efficiently so that the standard of Nigerian football within Nigeria gets better and becomes more competitive. Nigeria locals ought to be scrambling to play in the Nigerian league not looking for the out of Nigeria route. Only then can Nigerian football unleash the kind of football players we once had. Van Gal will not help Nigeria because we have nothing in place that he can work with. We have no youth system thats productive yet we somehow win the youth WC cup which ought to say that Nigeria has the raw talent more so than any country in the world but we do not have the structure to get them to WC standard beyond 17. So unless the manager comes in and does the impossible and radically changes the league, youth program then lets just forget it TheGoodJoe: Just to point out that Kyle Walker played in a 3-Man defence for Manchester City.
If we are to pick a coach, Mine will be to lure Louis Van Gaal out of retirement. A true tactical master and also innovative. Van Gaal has a history of helping in the development of genuine young stars as he did with Xavi, Iniesta who just spend six months with Van Gaal but believe the manager was the most important in his development. Other young stars including Quaresma, Sambrosa, Alaba, Muller, Kroos, Martial, Depay, Rashford, Lingaard, Seedorf, Kluivert, Edgar Davids and a host of others.
Van Gaal played a big part in the return of the 3-5-2 formation and will have a map for the development of our team. However, we would need patience for him to groom the team to play his brand of passing football. I would also like to see Finidi and Amunike working with him.
Well. This is just a wish and bringing Van Gaal will cost a fortune. If two multinationals come together, we can achieve it.
Finito. |

Agree but we also need the players - if you have the talent and you train well which means that you put in extra training much like Ronaldo and Messi are said to do then that coupled with a different mentality will give you the self confidence needed to succeed. Belief in one self is much overrated - you need to train well as well as change your psychology so that like the 94 team you go out there with no inferiority complex. deji17: It is about complex. It is our mindset and inferiority complex that is failing us. If we believe in ourselves and put in the hard work with the right mindset there is nothing special about the France Team. Nigeria can win the Wold cup with the right mindset. Our players and team are not inferior to France. Iceland played draw with Argentina and Nigeria beats Iceland, only to lose to the same Argentina because of the players mindset and inferiority . Messi looks so ordinary against Croatia, Iceland and France. His achievement at this world cup is scoring against Nigeria due to our players inferiority complex. They feel intimidated playing against Messi..We need to change our mindset if we want to succeed. Nothing special about our opponents. It is eleven players against eleven. |

Yep your 100% right but i will add that this started after the Argentine friendly game. As much as I want continuity and do not want Nigeria to stuff up players like Ebuehi by leaving them in the wilderness of international football i really beleive Rorh has to go - we need change and i my suggestion would be to use Emmanuel Amuneke hisgrace090: Rohr seems to have suffered stage fright which make him unable to make good decisions during the tournament. |

If we are still hoping on players who are past there sell by date then forget Nigerian football. Martins Are you serious? If we dont have any better strikers or footballers from Nigeria thrn we are doomed. Forget Obi and concentrate on young hungry blood even if you have to find them playing under a bridge somewhere in lagos forgiveness: We do better with 2 strikers. Ahmed Musa is number one. Kayode and Martins should be called back to the team. Onyekuru, Simon Moses, Isaac Success and Ademola Lookman should be in our team. |
Sports › Re: Gernot Rohr Wants To Continue As Super Eagles Coach by pelezico: 2:06pm On Jun 28, 2018 |
The problems are not only coach related but Nation related. Without going into to much we need to overhaul football in Nigeria to the point that these objectives are met 1. Thr nigerian football league should be an international Brand 2. The under 17 and 21 must see continuity and development of our brand of football - thats the NFF responsibilty. 3. Retain talent in nigeria - possible if num 1. is met Only when Nigerian football is able to withdraw itself crom the ineptitude of out cultural unprofessionalism will we see a nigeria that will dominate for years to come ANOWEDGREAT: Let him continue for continuity sake Rome wasn't built in a day if you employ a Nigerian coach tribal sentiments will set in. |

It was a poor display by two teams that are not very good fratermathy: Nigerians should chill abeg. Football is not mathematics. Sorry but do you think that Argentina will wamt to be beaten by an African team. No way mate. They will come out either blasting from the offset or will do enough to secure the win im saying that argentina will come out like mad dogs BascoVanVeli: I knew people would be against what I am about to say that was why I saved it until now. Argentina may not just lose today but they may be embarrassed because to me Messi was never the problem or solution. I feel that if u removed Messi and added Kante, Argentina would be more suited to win the world cup. The fact is that football today has no time for elaboration. Today it is run, run and more running, if a team cannot do that then they will be found wanting. You have to mix your quality with pure grit. I can't name a ball winner on their team, Mascherano is a top player but his pace is running on fumes. Our boys are hungry for success and by God's grace in less than an hour they will be legends and Messi can go and rest for next season sef. |
