Defensively we were not good - im surprised - to much respect for the Inglish

This has nothing to do with a Mr Duggan being was  shot (afteral you live by the sword you die by the sword) - i know his friends - if you know anything about the youth here in the UK  you will know that they are not rioting because of some ideal but because it allows them to do what they have wanted to do.  They are purposely targeting shops like JD sports, Carphone Warehouse, Footlocker, Debenhams

I live in London and youth here take the absolute liberties.  The crime system here is a complete joke and government has created a nanny state where offenders get off lightly and the victim is victimized thru the garbage called Human Rights.  

The youth are a product of englands morale decline and bear the fruits of what has been sown for the last 3 decades.  Black families are crumbling and the only place were you find families doing well in London and those who attend church regularly who understand the necessity of raising their children with a Christian world view.

Incidently i will add that the Indians (not so much as Pakistanis)are also relatively doing well because their families are eager to have them embrace the language and customs.  Though even among that race people things are changing.

From single parenting, abortion, relativism, government interference in parental responsibilities, fathers abdicating the highly important role they have in raising children, from anti-family groups trying to rewrite what family is, from the lobbying of gays and lesbians trying to rewrite legislatively what family is, pornography addiction, church folks not willing to be light and salt, music, tv etc etc has all helped to create this problem.  

This problem has been cooking for years so please lets not confuse this with REAL problems in countries where there is REAL government TYRANNY.  This kids simply need some love with a good whooping the kind Nigerian fathers use to administer back when.

And now you got folks here talking about reprisals against the youth buying weapons to use against them

I think you should learn to separate issue of tithing from funding the gospel. We all understand that the gospel need to be funded, somehow I don't have a problem if collections, including the (freewill) donation of 10% by members is used for true missionary work. I think the concern is the lies/scripture twisting that accompany the teaching/preaching of tithe.

I agree - people need to start reading there bibles and start understanding there faith critically. I meet Christians who can quote properity type scriptures but cant explain basic Christain doctrine -they enjoy books by Mr 20000 member church but know nothin about men such as AW Tozer, Charles Spurgoen, John Wesley etc etc. So to be fair im not syrprised Christians are being suckered.

However we give to God by faith.

i herald from the UK and i know where my giving goes (we have bi anual finance meeting where our givings are discussed and we are charity status - which means the tax man has an eye on us) so i dont have the hang ups that many of you have - but i would feel just the same as many of you and would not give .


Our church supports many fellowships world wide - we are not wealthy by some peoples standards but we give.  We support churches directly in nigeria lagos Sierra Leone, South Africa, Namibia, Italy, Spain, and in the UK quite a few.  

for instance my friend who was a doctor contracting around London just came off of support.  When he was in support he took care of financing his church and family workign part time as a medical doctor while pastoring . He was Pastoring a new church our from the mother church though the building and some expenses are supported by the mother church.  

Out Pastor wants every pioneering pastor to be off support within i think 4 years.  If international we tend to support alot longer.  It depends on the needs.  The pastor will sometimes have to find a job there so to help to take the burden off teh mother church.

We have struggled and have had to sell some houses that we bought to put up single ladies and men who had know place to stay.

We are still struggling but thats life and Gods helping the church.  People are being blessed.

We dont emphasise on posterity at all - though due to people losing jobs in the uk pastor has started to address this.

So i know where the church finances go -

By the way we support the churches in the uk and international by sending impact teams regular doing stuff like drama, cnoncerts, choir and full on preaching.  So because we are in a church that requires people to get involved we dont complain about where the money goes.

Jesus did not praise anyone for paying tithes in the NT but he referred to them as teachers of the law, Pharisees and hypocrites! See below:

The widows mite - our challenge as Christians
Luke 21:1-4 1 And he looked up, and saw the rich men that were casting their gifts into the treasury. 2 And he saw a certain poor widow casting in thither two mites. 3 And he said, Of a truth I say unto you, This poor widow cast in more than they all: 4 for all these did of their superfluity cast in unto the gifts; but she of her want did cast in all the living that she had.

To tithe is a command by God himself and is not old testament.  Tithing is not a ceremonial law and has not been done away with.  To say that tithing is a ceremonial law or one that was done away with is like saying  that marrying your cousin is OK since in Jesus that law that made it a sin in the old testament is done with therefore its OK to marry your cousin.  No.  Logically thats absurd.  To go along with that logic will get you into a lot of trouble i dare say.

Jesus never once said in any discourse on tithing that tithing is done with.  He said it ought to be done but so should the observance of the other things that ought to distinguish us as followers of Christ.  The woman and her mite and Jesus telling Peter to go and get a gold coin from the fishes mouth to pay the temple tax are very strong evidences that paying your tithes is something God requires you to do.

Infact Jesus says that the children of the world are wiser than the children of God because when it comes to zeal in looking after their worldly interest they excel hence why unsaved and wicked people do better than those Gods wants to prosper.

But the real issue is your heart.  If your treasure is awaiting for the kingdom and really pursuing His love you will tithe.  The problem is that Nigerians have abused the tithe, live like devils and think that because they tithe they will be blessed. Not so.  

I would say this to those who are struggling.  Get outta dept and please learn to bugdet.  You are a steward of Gods finances no matter how big or small.  BUDGET BUDGET BUDGET.  And while doing this tithe.  

If you are going to a Health and Wealth church my personal opinion is to leave however your obligation is to God and not to man.  However before leaving why not pray about it and go and speak to the leaders about the issues you have with the church.  Arm yourself with scriptures hence the reason why i said pray first.  You will then have a clearer mind as to what to do.

Those who have abused the tithe there condemnation is written of in the book of Jude and also in Psalm 73.  Rest assured that God knows who belong to him.

To those who think its beneath them to pay tithes well Jesus did and he knew very well that his tithe was being abused.  

If you are a poor steward of money - (i was blessed but because i was single used to spend very unwisely no im married i have been forced to budget) please bugdet - unsaved folks i know are good with their money and know a good deal when they see one.  

If you are caught up in the Health and Wealth false doctrine then my advise would be to repent and set your house in order.  I believe that God has brought judgment to such people since they are doing what there idolatrous heart wants to do and make money their god.  

Tithing is act of obedience.

This is very important especially in days that we live in. If you want to be blessed by God please tithe. Tithing is linked to the affections of the heart. This is also linked to Satans one world system where man will not be able to buy or sell unless you take the mark of the beast. I'll explain tomorrow. To clarify Satan will use the love of money as the very snare to literally own you out right.

The answer to the new heaven and new Earth - though im not familiar with all the scriptures - is hinted or explained in Romans 8. The bible says here that God subjected his creation to a type of vanity which includes the Earth. Everything within this reality became subject to the law of entropy after the fall. This Universe is gradually winding down albeit very slowly (assumptions based on teh longevity of our sun) and the effects of this winding down is evident in livings things but the law behind it ( Im no scientists but for simplicity sake) is entropy.

In Romans 8 when the children of God are revealed (changed from corruptible to incorruptible, mortal to immortal as explained in Corinthians 15 - this was written to Gentile believers) then everything within this reality will be changed back to the state God created it in before the fall. The Earth and the Heavens will be "changed" (whether that is before or after the millennial reign is not important) and Gods new Heavenly Jerusalem - His dwelling - will inhabit the Earth.

I have not studied Revelations deeply but i do know that the 144000 are most likely the post tribulation Jews. I arrive at that by simply reading the text. By Gods grace i will not be around to witness that since that period will be the most violent period in human history.

The danger of making a theology from Revelations is that the events are shut up for the period in which they were written for. We are seeing them unfold right now but many things are still a mystery.

And yes i do qualify for i am, by his unmeritable grace, the bride (as are all who are saved from his wrath) and i await his return whether by death or his glorious return to Earth

Seeking righteousness, seeking meekness etc are part of the good works essential to demonstrate your faith for salvation.
JWs moving from door to door to decalre the good news(Matthew 24:14) about God's kingdom and sharing what the Bible really teach, is part of the work they do to accompany thier faith for salvation. Romans 10:10 says and i quote ''For with the heart one exercises faith for righteousness, but with the mouth one makes public declaration for salvation.''

You never answered my question - its either faith or works.  

You have not understood what I wrote and thats troubling.  No one can know if anybody is saved except God yet a changed life is evidence of one.  So if some professes faith i simply watch and see if i see fruit from there lives.  You can go door to door all you want but that wont save you at all.  

So the bible says to test every Spirit.  Not only does faith without works trouble you but from  your posts it's evident that JW's see themselves as exclusive from the traditional Church. The Church, not the the Church of England or Catholics, but from those who have been called out of the world by God into the Church by faith.  Thats actually a positive thing for us true believers because your doctrine especially of faith and of Christ is heretical.  Separation here was necessary.  As the bible says "send them out to Satan for the destruction of the flesh" - tough but true

Notice that i have not told you what denomination I belong to. Why? Its does not matter because i can have true brotherly fellowship with a Calvinist, Methodist, Baptist, Church of England, Pentecostal etc etc.  There are subtle differences in doctrine but we all recognize faith justifies the beleive and that Christ is part  of the Triune God.  You deny both to  your peril.  Whereas i can read the bible alone you need help from Watch Tower - a secret minority of folks who interpret the bible for you based on a translation that has heretical teachings.  Therefore the reason wyy i called JWs a cult.

Very simple - its all Gods effort and Gods alone. Its is the faith that you had when you repented. Your efforts aside from true faith which appropriates Gods is totally useless.

Remember when using scripture you interpret based upon WHOLE revelation. When you isolate verses you will invariably end up in all kinds of trouble. Its not that difficult if you are saved since as 1 John puts it you are given an unction or anointing of the Spirit to know truth.

Anything other than faith is dead. In fact the whole book of Romans is about JUSTIFICATION by faith. The LAW cannot save you faith does.

Faith means you rest from your works and striving for perfection. Your perfection was settled on the Cross - that the sole reason why Jesus dies on the Cross for our sins. Surely you understand this right?

I would tell him that for salvation - having your sins forgiven forever , being fully justified (though i woudn't say that since its a big word), being adopted as a son of God, being heir to God inheritance as his children, having the right to approach Gods throne, having the right to call oneself a son of God - its IS BY FAITH. 

Hebrew 11  1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. 2 For by it the elders obtained a good testimony.
3 By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.

So I would tell them by FAITH since saving grace which is appropriated by FAITH now gives us the power thru Gods spirit to address sin and our behaviour.

If like the Galations we use works as our JUSTIFICATION then we either have fallen from GRACE or we still have a VEIL over our eyes as do teh Jews and Muslims and any other person who seeks justification thru the  moral law. A veil signifies ignorance of true faith

So practically speaking if someone who calls them-self a believer yet lives no differently than they did before they they were saved:  for instance he still beats up on his wife or cusses her out, or still gets drunk, or still sleeps around, or still 419s no matter how small, or hates his mum or dad etc etc then they are in peril of Gods wrath which is hell not annihilation.

Because of revelation though we do whats right not because it saves us but because of our LOVE which is motivated by what he has done for us.

So i would tell them by FAITH - and Romans 10:9 says that if they confess (repent and put confidence in Christ) they are saved.

This persecution has been continual since the church began at Pentecost. It has not really abated since. Infact it got worse under Constantines reign and the Crusades

Please read along in your Bible. Faith without work is death, (James 2:26), woe is me, if i did not declare the good news(1Cor 9:16). The good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth, for a witness to all the nation, and then the end will come(Matt 24:14).

First century xtians faced similar opposition, to stop preaching the good news, but they never get tired even though some were jailed and perscuted, same is happening down till our day. JWs dont find it tiresome to declare the good news. It is not by our strenght, but Jehovah is actually the one, energizing us.

Mathew 11:28, you quoted says "Come to me, all you who are tolling and loaded down, and i will refresh you". JWs all around the globe are trying all thier best to direct peoples'attention to that Jesus invitation.

Doing the right thing at times might look tiresome to people that dont value obedience and righteousness(am not implying you), but in the real sense of it, God's love means we obey his commandments, and yet His commandments are not burdensome(1 John 5:3).

The condition for SALVATION is FAITH and FAITH alone Ephesians 2:8 New Living Translation "God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. 9Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. 10For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago."

Since Jesus said that the word of God cannot be broken James therefore is not saving that your works will save you but it is the EVIDENCE of SAVING FAITH.  No works no faith. However SAVING FAITH or JUSTIFICATION by which God treats a repentant sinner as he would his SON yet treated his SON by pouring his WRATH on him as is meet for a sinner (substitutionary grace) saves us.

James talks of SANCTIFICATION - works after salvation as opposed to works that justify which is contrary to Biblical teaching.  This is what separates Christianity and idolatry.  We are saved by Gods merits and not ours. 

Remember when trying to understand the Bible your context is the Bible and not just verses taken out of context. The Word of God is explored as a whole and not random verses here and there

Ask God to help you understand it because many trip over this because of our twisted SELF-RIGHTEOUSNESS.  That includes me by the way

John 13:34 finds its home only in the regenerate heart - in those who have repented and received Christ as Savior. The unregenerate cannot love as commanded by Christ. We who are saved are not perfect neither will we ever be until we are transformed into the likeness of Christ at his return. Though we are commanded to strive for perfection (Be you perfect for I am perfect) it is the Spirit in us that compels us to that perfection). We who are saved are a work in progress

If you are not saved you do not belong to Christ no matter how richly you claim you love man. As i said before JW is a work based religion (must do this must do that must do this must do that and if im not doing i cant be a real JW).

Why not surrender those tiresome works (Matthew 11:28) and receive Christ by faith for by faith you are saved and not of WORKS lest any man BOAST.

A man who loves God will love man. A man who does not love man does not love God is unregenerate as the book of 1st John says quite well.

Try putting Watchtower false teaching down for a month and get yourself a proper Bible and read it - you will then know that what i have said is a reality. Ask God to reveal it to you He always does and will not fail you

Im also concerned that you refer to Watchtower and not the bible so with same zeal as Muslims refer to Mohammed - but im not surprised. If you were to read the bible itself and not the watchtower you would know the truth. The Hold Spirit will open your eyes and thats FACT.

The Title Son of God was lifted from Daniel Chapter 9 - Jesus was saying that he was the one spoken of in Daniel - The Jews of his day understood the reference as they were familiar with that title and the FACT that "the Son of Man" was a reference to the Messiah. 

Also Jesus and the Holy Spirit is not a manifestation but a PERSON within the TRIUNE God.  This is plainly obvious in that thru time and space they have existed as distinct persons as shown in Genesis 2 - Let US create man in our image - since God and no other thing was doing the creation of any one thing or things and the FACT that it then says  in Gen 1: 27 So God created mankind in his own image,  in the image of God he created them;   male and female he created them.
So the book drops from PLURAL to singular - no problem here since ELOHIM as used here as the name of God is a SINGULAR PLURAL word. God was already dropping hints way back when.

So even though God gave enough clues as to one of the great mysteries of his Eternal personhood the Christ reveals this in John 1 which should really be a verbose statement of the first verse of Genesis 1

The real issue is that man, including yourself need redeeming. We are sinners (lawless) by nature and hence human government will always reflect the inner workings of mans depraved nature (i'm not a calvinist). The kingdom you talk of is not accessible to any creature except those who have experienced the regenerating birth of John 3:3. This comes by faith and is available to BOTH Jew and gentile - there is no discrimination. All are called to be "born-again".

The new Earth and the new Heaven that Christians wait for (Romans 8 22:25) has God make his tabernacle with men forever (Revelations 21-1-4) where those who were redeemed in Christ Cross or Tree ( the power of Christ resurrection extends to those before and after that historical event)

I will add there are no scriptures that support our exclusion from politics at all. If you choose not to it your personal conviction that all. We are called to be light and the salt of the Earth remember so our voice must be heard but proclaiming the Cross - "Thus saith the Lord"

Redemption is by Christ who is God and not "a" God (since if He is "a" God then Gods law of Exodus 20 4-6 would violate his word in John 1). Since the God used in John 1 is Jehovah God and 1John makes it a requirement to believe in this FACT as a necessity for salvation (believing that Christ is God) - since you would be worshiping another god if you believed that Christ had a beginning ((was created) or was Angel Michael for instance. You therefore need to embrace a doctrine not rewritten by someone who was a MASON but scripture inspired by the Holy Ghost
