The question we should ask ourselves is "what lead to the president being called those names?" Actions should speak louder that supporters. The only way to prove to the citizenry that he is not what he is being called is for the president to buckle up and prove that he is not lazy else he will keep getting insulted.
i cant believe u say this, must u insult a leader becoz hes trying to live upto the standard? if u think hes not worthy to be ur president, buy form come 2015 and contest election. |

Link1 Video of 3D Rendition of the Akwa Ibom International Stadium https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QZWAzG8EjQk Sports generally and football in particular has become big business that governments at all levels and corporate citizens globally constantly sponsor sporting events on account of the benefits that come out of the games. This is hinged on its huge ability as a public relations vehicle, employment and financial generator. The provision of proper infrastructure to create the right environment to tap into the potentials therein is therefore of importance to corporate citizens who use sports as a means of branding and advertising their goods and services as well as governments vested with the mandate to manage the people’s commonwealth. The Governor of Akwa Ibom State Dr. Godswill Akpabio CON, as a responsible chief executive, committed to the overall growth and development of his people has, with the approval of the state legislature, invested huge resources into building a magnificent stadium in the state. Work on the gigantic project has reached advanced stage. On assumption of office in 2007 told the people that their lives would never remain the same hereafter. And so, when Nigeria’s President Goodluck Jonathan GCFR, on 27th October, 2012, came to the State on a working visit laid the foundation for this edifice. “The promise keeper!” as Governor Akpabio is fondly called says that building a sports edifice such as the Akwa Ibom International stadium with multi-faceted facilities like tennis courts, swimming pools, basketball courts, tartan tracks for track events and others is laying the right foundation where our youths can nurture their talents and become big stars like Vincent Enyeama, Serena Williams and David Beckham with winning mentality and enormous earning power. He added that the country must consolidate on the gains of the Super Eagles that recently won AFCON 2013 top prize, as well as other sports ambassadors who have equally brought honour to Nigeria. The governor says sports must not be taken lightly as it means ‘unity’ in Nigeria. The state government in its usual tradition of excellence has given the contractors marching orders to spare nothing at delivering a world class stadium with a timeline of 2014 delivery date, emphasizing that Akwa Ibom deserve nothing but the best. So in line with this, the contractors, Julius Berger PLC, have spared no machinery, technology, detail and manpower to meet the deadline. The conceptual design of this architectural master piece is detailed and breathe taking and accommodates all modern facilities that make a 21st century sports complex. It will not be out of place to give you a glimpse of what the finished stadium will look like. The acrylic finishing of the stadium is unique making it visually friendly. The question of its durability in a harsh tropical climate like ours became an issue but, the Special Adviser on technical matters, Engr Etido Inyang allays any such fears. The construction of the stadium is progressing steadily and within timelines. This stadium complex sitting atop a massive 32 hectares of land is all work! Work! And work. The main bowl will consist of a 4-tier terrace seating arrangement, all covered, with a capacity for 30,000 spectators. The first phase of work on the pitch is completed, and training pitch equivalent in size with that in the main bowl is progressing well, there will be two parking lots and access; VIP and bus parking areas, VIP access and public access, coffee-shops, shops, restaurants, banquet-hall and many more. Indeed the construction of the stadium is already impacting on the local economy as more than 700 people have been employed with lots of small and medium scale businesses springing up. For example, food vendors and other petty traders are having a field day making extra cash selling food and other wares to hundreds of workers on site and environs. Most of the construction workers who are mostly from the catchment area say the vision of governor Akpabio is already impacting on their lives as they now have jobs. The construction of the stadium is already creating a buzz of developmental activities around its location as auxiliary infrastructures that will service the stadium are springing up. For instance, the construction of the 3rd ring road and other roads that will serve as major access into the stadium are well underway; the 4th flyover along Abak road in front of Federal Secretariat is already in place. What are key members of the administration saying about this vision and its effect on urban renewal, safety and choice of location, sports development and others? Lots of sports talents abound in Akwa Ibom state as can be gleaned from the number of children and young adults who engage in different sports activities at street corners all over the state every day. Old Uyo township stadium that has served the people for years before and after the creation of the state is now ‘old school’ as some people would say and certainly cannot fit into nurturing of talents in a digital world. It lacks modernity and facilities to cater to these needs. But with the coming on stream of the new stadium with modern multi-faceted facilities, what does the future hold for sports in state? If we can feel the pulse and predict the actions of His Excellency, Governor Akpabio, who loves good things and goes all the way out to get them for his people to enjoy, on the completion of this stadium next year; Akwa Ibom people can brace themselves up for high profile football matches and other sports meets to see action in this facility before he winds down his administration in 2015. The people call it uncommon transformation. Link 2 the construction work on site https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LCmWViGwsq4 Akwa Ibom Nnyin Ayaya, yak idian ubok ibop obio emana nnyin. ![]() |

isacolukay: I need fellow NLers to help me out on this one. A couple of weeks ago, my girlfriend taught me how to use the 'ALT LGLG' function to clear the eventlog on my Blackberry device. Sometimes later, she called up my eventlog (via the same 'ALT LGLG' function) and copied something on her phone. I thought it was in my interest and let it be. But at the end of the day, she tells me who and who I've chatted with on bbm and even tells me the content of our conversation, thus meanin that my privacy has been compromised! I checked my phone for spyware apps and the likes, I didnt see any. I will be glad if I can get help on how to unhack the phone so dat I can have access to my privacy. Make The Switch! Within 12 hours after you have your last cigarette, your body will begin to heal itself. The levels of carbon monoxide and nicotine in your system will decline rapidly, and your heart and lungs will begin to repair the damage caused by cigarette smoke. As your body begins to repair itself, instead of feeling better right away, you may feel worse for a while. It's important to understand that healing is a process that begins immediately, but it continues over time. These "withdrawal pangs" are really symptoms of the recovery process. Immediately after quitting, many ex-smokers experience "symptoms of recovery" such as temporary weight gain caused by fluid retention, irregularity, and dry, sore gums or tongue. You may feel edgy, hungry, more tired, and more short-tempered than usual and have trouble sleeping and notice that you are coughing a lot. These symptoms are the result of your body clearing itself of nicotine, a powerful addictive chemical. Most nicotine is gone from the body in 2-3 days. Take Our Stop Smoking Readiness Quiz! It is possible to talk yourself out of quitting by believing that your tobacco use is not a serious addiction. Here's a quick quiz to help gauge the seriousness of your tobacco use. If you answer "yes" to three or more of the following questions, your smoking may be more than just a compulsion. Do I smoke everyday? Has a doctor or dentist ever suggested that I stop smoking? Do I find it difficult to imagine life without smoking? Do I smoke to escape from boredom and worries while under stress or pressure? Have I felt physical or emotional discomfort when trying to quit? Do I buy extra tobacco supplies to assure that I will not run out? Do I prefer activities and places that allow me to smoke? Do I inwardly feel ashamed of myself because of my smoking? Has my smoking caused a problem at home or in a relationship? Do I ever find myself lighting another cigarette without consciously deciding to have another? Do I feel that my life would be better if I did not use tobacco? Do I continue to smoke even though I am aware of the health hazards associated with smoking? . . . Within 20 minutes of smoking that last cigarette, the body begins a series of changes that continues for years. 20 MINUTES Blood pressure drops to normal. Pulse rate drops to normal. Body temperature of hands and feet increases to normal. 8 HOURS Carbon monoxide level in blood drops to normal. Oxygen level in blood increases to normal. 24 HOURS Chance of heart attack decreases. 48 HOURS Nerve endings start regrowing. Ability to smell and taste is enhanced. 2 WEEKS TO 3 MONTHS Circulation improves. Walking becomes easier. Lung function increases up to 30%. 1 TO 9 MONTHS Coughing, sinus congestion, fatigue, and shortness of breath decrease. Cilia regrow in lungs, increasing ability to handle mucus, clean the lungs, and reduce infection. Body's overall energy increases. 1 YEAR Excess risk of coronary heart disease is half that of a smoker. 5 YEARS Lung cancer death rate for average smoker (one pack a day) decreases by almost half. Stroke risk is reduced to that of a nonsmoker 5-15 years after quitting. Risk of cancer of the mouth, throat and esophagus is half that of a smoker's. 10 YEARS Lung cancer death rate similar to that of nonsmokers. Precancerous cells are replaced. Risk of cancer of the mouth, throat, esophagus, bladder, kidney and pancreas decreases. 15 YEARS Risk of coronary heart disease is that of a nonsmoker. What Are Some Rewards of Quit Smoking! Within a few days you will probably begin to notice some remarkable changes in your body. Your sense of smell and taste may improve. You will breathe easier, and your smoker's hack will begin to disappear, although you may notice that you will continue to cough for a while. And you will be free from the mess, smell, inconvenience, expense, and dependence of cigarette smoking. It is important to understand that the long range after-effects of quitting are only temporary and signal the beginning of a healthier life. Now that you've quit, you've added a number of healthy productive days to each year of your life. Most important, you've greatly improved your chances for a longer life. You have significantly reduced your risk of death from heart disease, stroke, chronic bronchitis, emphysema, and several kinds of cancerp;not just lung cancer. (Cigarette smoking is responsible every year for approximately 130,000 deaths from cancer, 170,000 deaths from heart disease, and 50,000 deaths from lung disease.) Idi Amin: For days now, I have not been myself since I stopped smoking cigarrette. This is not the first this has occurred. I have gone back to smoking because of this particular reason after quitting several times in past years. Please I need a good advice, I really wanna quit this time. I hate smoking now and I'm ashamed of being a smoker. If not for any reason, friends keep asking me why a handsome guy like me wanna destroy my life with cigarrette. I cried the day I watched myself smoke before the giant mirrow in my restroom and since then I swore never to have anything with smoking again. We are about to enter winter and I feel cold and catarrh every now and then which never occurred when I was smoking. Please kindly advisewelcome to the world of good health . . The first few weeks after quitting smoking are usually the most difficult and it's safe to say that it normally takes at least 8-12 weeks before a person starts to feel comfortable with their new lifestyle change of being an ex-smoker. Withdrawal from nicotine, an addictive drug found in tobacco, is characterized by symptoms that include headache, anxiety, nausea and a craving for more tobacco. Nicotine creates a chemical dependency, so that the body develops a need for a certain level of nicotine at all times. Unless that level is maintained, the body will begin to go through withdrawal. For tobacco users trying to quit, symptoms of withdrawal from nicotine are unpleasant and stressful, but only temporary. Most withdrawal symptoms peak 48 hours after you quit and are completely gone in six months. When you are experiencing symptoms of recovery (withdrawal), remind yourself of why you are quitting; write your reasons on a card and keep it with you. Remind yourself that whatever discomfort you are experiencing is only a tiny fraction of the probable discomfort associated with continued smoking (i.e. Painful diseases like cancer, surgery, chemotherapy, emphysema etc.). Enegod: *yawns* one word plsCHECK URS AGAIN, 4 WORDS... WTF |
tosingcfr: awesome, although I didnt watch the matchSORRY BRO HERE IS THE SUMMRY Nigeria became the most successful team in FIFA U-17 World Cup history with a 3-0 win over holders Mexico at the Mohammad Bin Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. The final was a rematch of the 6-1 win Nigeria inflicted on the Mexicans in Group F play and sees the Golden Eaglets lay hands on the junior world trophy for the fourth time in their history, one better than South American giants Brazil. When the final whistle went in the UAE capital, fans and players alike rejoiced, fingers pointed to the sky, with what has become the traditional Nigerian celebration of: “yes, yes yes!” Mexico kept the ball for a full two minutes at the start of the game, moving it around well and making the Nigerians chase. El Tri even managed the first chance on goal after six minutes. Osvaldo Rodriguez crossed from the left, but Alejandro Diaz couldn’t keep his close-range effort the right side of the post. Two minutes on and Ivan Ochoa – who scored twice in the semi-final win over Argentina – saw his off-balance header pushed over the bar by Dele Alampasu. The corner came to nothing for the Mexicans, but Nigeria benefitted greatly by bursting out on a classic counter-attack. Kelechi Iheanacho went flying up the pitch. With just one Mexican defender in position, the No10 Golden Eaglet laid the ball in for Taiwo Awoniyi who then fed it on to Musa Yahaha, who had a little help from Erick Aguirre. The Mexican midfielder mistakenly hit the ball into his own net in an attempt to recover. With the score 1-0, Musa Muhammed was giving the Mexicans fits with his rampaging runs up the right side. He pinned the opponents back at every opportunity. As the first half pushed toward the interval, the Africans upped their tempo in search of a second goal. Yahaya rattled the crossbar with a stunning effort from 20 yards out after 38 minutes. Pressure was mounting and the fans in the stands were on their feet when Awoniyi’s bicycle-kick from the penalty spot forced Raul Gudino into a magnificent reaction save in the dying moments of the half. The second period began with a frenzy of attacks at both ends of the pitch, but it was Nigeria who made theirs count, making it 2-0 in the 56th minute. Captain Muhammed unleashed a wicked swirling shot that Mexican keeper Gudino simply couldn’t hang on to. He spilled a rebound directly to the feet of the most dangerous man on the pitch, and Iheanacho made no mistake dispatching his sixth goal of the tournament. . With a quarter-hour to go, Mexico managed to carve out a rare second- half chance, but Ochoa’s header from close-range slipped wide of the post as the holders began to wilt under the ceaseless pressure of the buzzing Nigerians. Muhammed added a third with ten minutes to go, curling a sublime free-kick into the top corner. Anyone in UAE who had the pleasure to see them will tell you that this Nigerian team were the best on offer. Even a few of the Mexican fans were mumbling “yes, yes, yes” when the final whistle went on Nigeria’s glorious campaign here in UAE. . . Apart from winning the cup, Nigeria also won the FIFA Fair Play Award while Iheanacho won the Golden Ball (for the Best Player) and the Silver Boot for emerging the second highest goal scorer with six goals behind Bolden Berisha of Sweden, who won the Golden Boot with seven goals. . Alampasu won the Golden Glove having emerged he best goal keeper in the tournament. |
