The famous blind Prophet and General Overseer of the The Mountain of Mercy (aka Ori-Oke Alaseyori Church) of Moniya area of Ibadan, Oyo State, Moses Muyideen Kasali, dropped a bombshell during the weekend, declaring that President Mohammadu Buhari would be defeated should he contest in the 2019 Presidential election.http://www.thebreakingtimes.com/2019-contest-and-be-disgraced-blind-prophet-warns-buhari/

President Muhammadu Buhari, then Head of State was recorded as the only leader who voted against his nation in the favour of his tribe. “I remember in 1985 in Africa Hall that he was for confirmation of Dr Peter Onu of Nigeria, who was acting Secretary General but Nigeria’s Head of State Gen Muhammadu Buhary was adamant in his support of Niger’s candidate, Idi Omaro, a Fulani Muslim. In a meeting, a handful of Presidents led by Nyerere met with Gen Buhary and Nwalimu begged him: ‘Please give us Peter!’ Buhary refused and forgot even to be courteous to his old peers. What was astonishing, when the vote was in favour of Niger’s candidate, the Nigerian Head rejoiced to such a degree that he was unable to control his emotions. That was a moment I witnessed and was convinced that General Buhary would not last long as a leader.” The OAU: Reality Or Fiction by Ibrahim Daggash, former Head of Information and Communication, Organization of African Unity (OAU); pg 69; ISBN 1-9044722-25-3 It is unheard-of in history that a self-respecting leader of a country would vote against his country’s candidate in international diplomacy. But here, you have it in black and white, in a book, that former Head of State General Muhammadu Buhari would rather have a Fulani Muslim candidate from Niger instead of Nigeria’s own esteemed Dr. Peter Onu. Not even the highly revered then President of Tanzania, Julius Nyerere could make Buhari to change his mind. This kind of bizarre shamelessness is why Nigeria is the laughing stock of the civilized world. It is unthinkable that any leader, anywhere would insult his own country by backing an opponent from another country. The crude tragedy here is that it was the selfsame Buhari who made this patriotic statement: “This generation of Nigerians and indeed future generations have no other country than Nigeria. We must stay here to salvage it together.” How would the late Peter Onu have faith in Nigeria when he could not get the support of his country’s leader? It is as though the so-called leader was more interested in the ethnicity and religion of Peter Onu’s opponent from Niger than any bonds of citizenship with his Nigerian compatriot. Cry, the beloved country, as Alan Paton entitled his sad book. Attaining the great post of Secretary-General of the then OAU was a task most African countries gave their all in raising their diplomatic stakes. In Peter Onu’s case, he even had the other African countries rooting for him because of his undoubted competence only to be abandoned by the very man at the helm of affairs in his own country. Indeed Chinua Achebe was spot-on when he stated that the trouble with Nigeria stood on leadership in his classic little book The Trouble With Nigeria. A leader that cannot support his countrymen and women can only be aid to be worse than useless. How indeed will Nigerians be motivated to lift up the country? It all means that all the croaking about “One Nigeria” is a huge joke. Buhari’s antecedents can only deal a deathblow to his current attempt at winning the presidency of Nigeria. He is not showing in any sense whatsoever that he has changed from his old ways which made the author to state in the book quoted above at the beginning of this article that “he was convinced that General Buhary (sic) would not last long as a leader.” All over the internet are quotes of Buhari stressing that he would ensure the entrenchment of the controversial Sharia law all over the country. In a plural society such as Nigeria, that is a surefire way to covet trouble. Buhari ought to know that the country is no longer under military where his word was law. Even then, he was even so easily overthrown by his military peers due to his bad politics. Buhari had earlier said quite undiplomatically that Muslims should vote for only Muslims. It goes against the grain for a man who aspires to be the leader of all to sound so parochial. Buhari obviously has his fawning sycophants, but the larger public remains unimpressed. It is this his latching to the praise songs of his toadies that makes Buhari imagine that he can ride roughshod over simple rules like presenting his school certificate to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Celebrating a man who manufactures a Statement of Result from Katsina State of 1961 in lieu of his mandatory school certificate in the contest for the Nigerian presidency aptly sums up the sorry fate of the country where a child from Anambra State, for instance, must score more than 139 marks to be admitted into the so-called Unity Schools while another child from Yobe State is only required to score just 2, as in TWO, marks. Pathetic! A leader who shamelessly helped to defeat his own country, to actually vote against the country he led, as Buhari did in Peter Onu’s contest for the Secretary-General post of the then OAU has no business putting up his head to lead the country yet again. Since he is so desirous of supporting his Fulani mates from Niger, would it not be wiser to aspire to lead Niger Republic instead? Somebody urgently needs to CHANGE himself first! http://www.hinnews.com/news/buhari-leader-recent-history-voted-nigerian-christian-fulani-muslim-niger-republic-oau/ |
Ajimobi is and has always been a colossal failure, Apc should get ready to lose Oyo state in 2019 |
An Oyo State High Court presided over by Justice Olajumoke Aiki on Friday declared the review of the 1957 Olubadan Chieftaincy Declaration and other Related Chieftaincies in Ibadan land by the Justice Akintunde Boade Review Commission, which was set up by the Oyo State Government , as unconstitutional , illegal , null , void and of no effect . The commission had recommended, among others, the creation of several monarchs in Ibadan which led to the installation of 21 kings by the state Governor Abiola Ajimobi. While delivering judgment , Aiki held that wearing of beaded crowns is beyond the purview of sections 10 , 12 and 25 of the Oyo State Chiefs Law , stating that Section 25 of the Chiefs Law could not be treated in isolation to the provisions of Parts Two and Three of the Chiefs Laws . The court also said provisions of Parts Two and Three of the Chiefs Laws , particularly sections 10, 12 and 25, did not give power to the governor to review the Olubadan chieftaincy declaration, while also restraining the government from accepting and implementing the reports of the commission . http://punchng.com/breaking-court-nullifies-installation-of-21-kings-by-gov-ajimobi/ cc: lalasticlala |
Nigeria has been ranked as the second worst nation in power supply as power drops to 3,851 megawatts, MW. The Spectator Index of the world’s worst electricity supply in 2017, stated this in a report released by @spectatorindex twitter handle, yesterday. Of the 137 countries examined in the report, Yemen ranked as worst electricity supply nations in 2017, followed by Nigeria, Haiti, Lebanon, and Malawi. Ethiopia occupied the 37 position, while South Africa and Algeria occupied the 41, 45 positions respectively. Meanwhile, the Advisory Power Team report showed that the national grid capacity stood at 4, 000 Megawatts, MW. The report noted that the average power sent out by the Electricity Generating Companies, GENCOs, on the 14th of January, stood at 3, 851.06mw, down by 168.58mw, recorded the previous day, adding that the peak generation averaged 4, 425mw, down by 5.5 percent. According to the report, “On January 14 2018, average power sent out was 3,851MWh/hour (down by 169MWh/h from the previous day). 1437.9MW was not generated due to unavailability of gas. “0MW was not generated due to unavailability of line infrastructure, while 680.5MW was not generated due to high frequency resulting from the unavailability of distribution infrastructure. 290MW was not generated due to unavailability of water. “The power sector lost an estimated N1,121,000,000 on January 14, 2018, due to insufficient gas supply, distribution infrastructure, transmission infrastructure and water reserves.” Consequently, a total of 63.1mw of energy was sent out from Omoku thermal power plant with a constraint of 16mw. Alaoji National Independent Power Plant, NIPP, had a constraint of 240mw which affected the ability of the plant to generate commercial energy. Energy sent out from Delta power plant on the same day was 340.76mw with a high-frequency constraint of 100 Hertz. Jebba plant sent out 302.88mw of energy, while Shiroro had a water constraint of 290mw, along with high-frequency constraint of 95 Hz, limiting the sent out energy to 160.31mw, while Kainji dam sent out 359.49mw of power to the transmission company of Nigeria, TCN. Despite the claim by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) that it has repaired the Escravos-Lagos Pipeline System (ELPS) and resumed gas supply to power stations in the South-west, the country’s electricity generation was still around 3,600MW Monday, THISDAY has learnt. A section of the ELPS at Abakila in Ondo State blew up in flames on January 2 as a result of bush fire, which disrupted gas supply to five power stations, leading to two system collapses within 24 hours. The spokesman of NNPC, Mr. Ndu Ughamadu, had told THISDAY on Sunday that the corporation had completed the assessment of the damage but was set to start repairs. But in a curious twist, the corporation said in a statement Monday that it had completed repairs and restored gas supply to the affected power plants. THISDAY’s investigation, however, revealed that despite the restoration of gas supply to the plants, average power generation was approximately 3,600MW Monday. Before the fire incident last Tuesday, average generation was put at 4,300MW on the previous day by the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), with 4,685.3MW as peak generation and 3,667.5MW as the lowest electricity generated. This performance was above the average of 3,610MW recorded Monday, despite the restoration of gas supply to the power stations. The spotlight on grid operations showed that on Saturday, peak generation was put at 3,929.7MW, while the lowest generation was 173MW. According to the operational report, a total of 3,227.90MW was sent to the grid as of 06:00hours on Sunday. With the poor performance of the grid, electricity supply has remained epileptic across the country. NNPC had noted that with the restoration of the ELPS and resumption of gas supply, the affected power plants with a combined generating capacity of 1,143MW would resume power generation. The power plants include Egbin Power Plant in Lagos State; Olorunshogo Power Plant, PEL Olorunshogo and Paras Power Plant in Ogun State; and Omotosho Power Plant in Ondo State. The corporation, however, did not indicate when it completed the repairs and when the affected power stations would resume full operation. Before last Tuesday’s fire incident, the country had on December 18, 2017 attained a generation peak of 5,222.3MW. The 36-inch ELPS is a natural gas pipeline built in 1989 to supply gas from Escravos in the Niger Delta to various consumption utilisation areas. It supplies gas to power plants in the South-west and also feeds the West African Gas Pipeline System. http://www.thisdaylive.com/index.php/2018/01/09/power-generation-still-at-3600mw-despite-repair-of-escravos-lagos-pipeline/ |
