Business / Help! What's Rent Like For a Retail Space at SilverBird, The Palms And City Mall? by pepsi2: 3:07am On Oct 03, 2008
Hi Smart Folks, I have read that The Palms and Silver Bird Galleria attracts window shoppers while that City Mall has more buyers compare to the prvoisly mentioned two. How true is this?

A friend (previous boutique owner) thinks renting a space and servicing it yourself cost so much and the stress associated with it is insane. Do you think a retail space in a nice shopping/commercial building in VI or Ikoyi, for classy boutique will be better than the Malls?

Does anyone know relative estimates of what rent for a store in any of these 3 malls (Silver Bird, City Mall and The Palms) will cost?
Thank you so much, this info is highly needed and I appreciate your repsonses in advance.

Is there any good jewelery store in lagos that sells fine white gold and diamond jeweleries?

Like when people want to engage the girlfriends, buy Christmas or birthday gifts and want diamonds,
do they have to travel to get them?

do you want to draw/sketch or become a designer? stick to your focus you might meet a person you can partner with who has an eye and mind for deisigning but is not good at translating it on paper. i am like that, i love and know fashion and want to become a designer but can not translate my vision on paper. and there are many people like me.

Insist on Signing official contracts, so you can work for more than one designer. It can be your own business. Some people can be trusted. Internationally you are likely not to hear back, the want local artist and there are talented people every where, so make use of the place you are. Go in faith.

Fashion / Re: I Need Good Tailors To Employ by pepsi2: 10:46pm On May 22, 2007
Hi, You might want to do a contract with them. If your offer is good and as time goes on they may have it better with you than finding their own clients. See they are on Salary with you and commission however you choose to do it. But that income is stable, it is your problem if your cleints do not pay you, nbut the tailors will be cool knowing that they don't have to chase after customers for their money. So you need to brainstorm in order to lock them in. I believe you need to start talking to other nationalities from these countires and they can refer you or help you to go and seek out good tailors. Keep us posted for I am interested too.

@ SPOILT, thx but what is "i thought you mean okrika." I know u are being funny , but I am not Nigerian so I didnt get the joke. lol

@ D Truth, Donan, Thx a lot

@ Hannydarl THX, I would like to sell in Mid market and high, example is like the jeans I want to sell, they are retailing for $150.00 to 300.00 and sometimes more, however big boys and girls wear them in Nig a lot so I know that it will sell to them.
For the range of 2000.00 to 15,000.00 which was highly advised here, I would say that will cater to students which seems to be the market with more consumers.

@ JIDEBIZ, thank you so much, God is in control. I will succeed with his hands upholding me thru this jorney b4 it even begun.

What would u guys say the rent is like for a boutique/store space at the palms or Silverbird Galleria? Are those the best location in Nigeria? Thank you

Is Ikeja for highend boutique or or low to med end? I would think for good quality clothes at high prices, like clothes like true religion or 7 for all mankind designer jeans, would do well on the Island or Ikoyi. WHat do you guys think?
