What of new customers?

All men are equal in the sight of God. This isn’t just an ideology. This is fundamental truth and this truth is very fundamental in the message of Christ and of Christianity. This is one of the underlying truths of the gospel. God is no respecter of persons. God has no favorites. Once we get hold of this fundamental truth about the love of God, our whole concept of God, Love, Life, Faith and Hope will change completely. One of the foundational characters of God is that He is just. God is Just. God is justice! God is fair! The whole of life and living tries to prove to you daily that God isn’t just. That God isn’t fair. But that is a lie. God is always Just!

In the garden of Eden, the first message the serpent conveyed to Eve can be summarised thus:

"God is not fair" or "God is not just". Read Gen 3:1-7

As soon as Eve listened to and assimilated that message, she began to doubt. She began to contemplate and visualise God as unjust, unfair, unrighteous! Most Christians today will echo "All the time" in response to the slogan/chant, "God is good". But to most, it is just a slogan. A cliche. At best, they can relate it to money and profit. But even at that level, most still cannot comprehend the concept of God's justice and fairness.

For example, it is important for us to understand that the concept of fairness cannot be applied to a single entity or one party. Fairness is relative. Being fair to one implies an action in relation to others around. Justice is relative. You cannot have justice or fairness in isolation. Justice is always established between two or more entities (the two entities here can even be God and you).

Justice is a fundamental concept of life and forms the whole bedrock of God's interaction with mankind. One of the key components of God's justice is the fundamental truth that ALL MEN ARE EQUAL in His sight.

ALL MEN ARE EQUAL! ALL MEN ARE EQUAL! ALL MEN ARE EQUAL!

Let this sink in for a moment.

In Matthew 20:24, we read the story of how two disciples (John and James) came to Jesus, accompanied by their mother. When they met Jesus, their mother made a strange request. She said to Jesus, “please when you establish your kingdom, let my two sons sit at your right and left hands”. She sought and campaigned for choice positions for her kids. Which mother won’t? Sounds like a great ambition, a worthy goal, doesnt it? Jesus replied with a tough question. "Can you endure what I am about to endure?" They ignorantly said, “yes we can!”. Jesus then told them He couldnt grant such a request as only the father had the authority to grant people that. But he also promised them they would suffer like they have agreed to. This is not the key story here though. The key story is what followed next.

When the other disciples heard it, they were furious. Why wouldn’t they be? Some folk was trying to play the power game right under their nostrils. We see this happen everyday around us, dont we? This is how the world’s system functions. But Jesus called them all aside and laid out for them a most profound message. A fundamental principle for the people of God. A marching order for the Holy Kingdom of God. We see this in the following passage:

Matthew 20:25 But Jesus called them unto him, and said, “You know that the rulers in this world lord it over their people, and officials flaunt their authority over those under them. 26 But among you it will be different. Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant, 27 and whoever wants to be first among you must become your slave. 28 For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

Alarmingly, the whole concept of modern Christian denominationalism is built on the same wordly principle that is opposite of this verse. It is built on the premise that ALL MEN ARE NOT EQUAL. It is built on the premise that there are those who God has created and called higher and greater than others. In modern Christian denominationalism, those who want to be first, dont serve. They RULE! They flaunt their authority over everyone else. They live over and above the rest of us. They go around with glamorous, high sounding titles. They love the approval and adoration of men. They live in wanton exclusivity. But this is a false concept. A false form of Christianity. The direct opposite of what Jesus laid down for us.

The calling of God does not elevate a man above others. The calling of God is RESPONSIBILITY, not position. It is SERVICE, not rulership. COMMUNION, not dominion over other men. Having dominion over other men is a concept of the world. A concept derived from Babylon. It is the system of this world. God told the Israelites they should not have a king. But they refused and God said to Samuel, “they have rejected me”. And this is what God told them a king will do to them.

1 Samuel 8:11 (The Message) He said, “This is the way the kind of king you’re talking about operates. He’ll take your sons and make soldiers of them—chariotry, cavalry, infantry, regimented in battalions and squadrons. He’ll put some to forced labor on his farms, plowing and harvesting, and others to making either weapons of war or chariots in which he can ride in luxury. He’ll put your daughters to work as beauticians and waitresses and cooks. He’ll conscript your best fields, vineyards, and orchards and hand them over to his special friends. He’ll tax your harvests and vintage to support his extensive bureaucracy. Your prize workers and best animals he’ll take for his own use. He’ll lay a tax on your flocks and you’ll end up no better than slaves. The day will come when you will cry in desperation because of this king you so much want for yourselves. But don’t expect God to answer.”

This is where we are today. This is exactly how the world’s system works. The governments, coporate organisations, their owners, community leaders, etc. But we can understand why secular entities are this way. They are supposed to work that way. Unfortunately, this is also how the modern Christian denominational system works too. Today’s Christian denominational system functions in direct contrast to what Jesus laid down for us, His Church. It functions in abnormality and injustice, just like the babylon system. This is not how the Church of Christ is supposed to work. The Church is a communion of brethren. None elevating themselves above others. Everyone sacrificing for their neighbour and brethren.
I will end this with Acts 4. Here, we see a profound picture of the church of Christ. The pure, undiluted, uncompromised church of Christ. The true habitation and fellowship of God. The congregation of the mighty!

No one said, “That’s mine; you can’t have it.” They shared everything. The apostles gave powerful witness to the resurrection of the Master Jesus, and grace was on all of them.
34-35 And so it turned out that not a person among them was needy. Those who owned fields or houses sold them and brought the price of the sale to the apostles and made an offering of it. The apostles then distributed it according to each person’s need.

John 20:23 was not written for the pope. If you want to take it literarily, then every christian has the power to forgive sins, not just the pope. And the pope is not a high priest. There is no high priest in the new testament apart from Jesus. In the new testatment, every christian is a priest. Church leaders are not addressed as priests but as pastors or shepherds. The whole concept of the pope is wrong from its foundation and only seeks to establish a religion where one man controls the lives of people with the false doctrine that he represents God on earth. God does not need anyone to represent him on earth. Even some pentecostal church preachers are now following this wrong trend and false christianity. Jesus is the only mediator between God and man. No one can replace him

In the olden times, people worshipped all kinds of physical items as gods.

Jehovah, Yahweh, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, instructed the Israelites not to worship any graven image. In many countries and societies today, people still worship all sorts of graven images.

However, there is a new set of gods, that has been subtly introduced into the world and has become more devastating than anything that has ever existed. Now these gods are not really new in human society, but they have completely taking center stage in a world that has become more mental than physical. Let's take a look at these new gods.

1. Pleasure
In many societies, it is no longer fashionable to serve physical objects. So pleasure has become a new god.

A god is simply an object of worship. Something you commit your life to. Something you will give everything for. That is why Jesus declared to us in Matt 6:24 that you cannot serve God and mammon (money). Jesus refered to money as an alternative god. An object of worship. Jesus told the rich young ruler to go sell all he had and come and follow Him.

Why did Jesus do that? Because the man's possesions had become his god. Jesus did not ask Joseph of Arimathea, another rich man, to go sell all his things. The simple difference was that Joseph was not tied to his riches. The problem with the so called prosperity teaching in the church today is that it is really materialism that is being preached. There is nothing wrong with a Christian having the good things of life like nice cars and houses. But the simple question is, can you do without them?

There was an interesting story in Matt 10:17-27, where Jesus told the rich young ruler to go sell all his things. The bible tells us that the man became very sad. That was when Jesus declared that it was easier for the head of a camel to pass through the eye of the needle than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. Jesus wasn't saying it was bad to be rich, he was simply telling us that many rich people are slaves to their wealth. They worship their possesions. Their money has become their god.

This is the unfortunate thing being promoted on our TVs today. The gospel of worship of money. Interestingly, those who have really impacted the world positively and changed lives are those who have been detached from possesions. Even in the secular world, Ghandi, Mandela, Mother Terresa are great examples in our time.

1. Fame
Probably even more dangerous than money and possesions today is fame. Fame has become the new high. The new drug. They have now coined a word for it. Celebrity! What exactly does that mean? It simply means someone who has become popular.

The big question is, how does just being popular really mean anything?

Well, welcome to the new world! Now you turn on your TV and you are greeted with a host of reality shows. Meaningless programs about how a lady goes out to shop or what kind of hair she wants to do next or how a guy is tired of his marriage and how he his cheating on his wife.

No moral, educational or even intellectual value. But suddenly, the person on the screen becomes a "celebrity". Celebrated for what, you can't tell. No wonder some are even willing to spread negative news about themselves now to attain that celebrity status. Fame has become not only a captivating god, but a very dangerous one.
Every kid now wants to be a celebrity. Excellence and hard work and values have been thrown out the window. Interestingly, even many preachers have joined the celebrity bandwagon. Christians now argue about the size of their church and the polularity and wealth of their pastors. I can tell you that if many of these pastors come out today to sell all their possessions, their churches will be empty the following sunday.

A friend of mine was telling me how a fellow pastor advised him to start his ministry. He told him to get some money and if need be, he should go borrow. Then he should get serious sound system and put together correct music. Then he should get a fantastic venue. All the while, God's will and direction was never a part of the deal. It was just about attracting people. That guy is building a church for himself, not for God. God is very far from him. A church that cannot function without heavy music is not a church but a clun house. They now defend it by saying we are in a modern age. How a modern age can change an ageless God is amazing. There is nothing wrong with great music, but music is not God and God is not music. Infact, there are some kind of music that are more of a distraction from God than a blessing. I have seen some of the greatest moves of God's spirit in small gatherings without musical instruments and public address sytems but with glorious united hearts worshipping in purity and in spirit and in truth. God requires our hearts worship, not pianos and drums! Never replace the glowing, magnificient presence of God with a golden calf from Aaron!

3. Nature
This one is very subtle but a serious god. Now there is nothing wrong with taken care of our environment and planting trees and making the world a better place for us all to live in. But many have now crossed that line into worship of nature. From tree huggers to animal protection groups, some are now worshipping nature. Earth is not our mother or god. Earth did not create anyone or anything. Earth is our subject and as our subject, we have a duty to maintain it and make it look good, not worship it. God told Adam clearly:

Gen 1:28
"Be fruitful, multiply, replenish the earth and subdue it" not worship it! Replenish and subdue it!

4.Vanity

This god is similar to pleasure but still very different. It has to do with strong lust for things. But it is even deeper. It is actuually a result of a sense of incompleteness. A crave and a drive to gain relevance and self worth. From dressing excessively so we are noticed, to buying more cars than we actually need just so we look better than our neighbour and friends. Now this is not to say it is wrong to dress elegantly and glamourously, but there is a difference between dressing and feeling happy and good about yourself and dressing to gain attention so you can fill the void in your heart or look important and have value in the eyes of the people around you. Jesus said a man's life does not consist of the abundance of the things he posseses. In other words, your cars, houses, clothes and bank account is not your true worth. If it was, armed robbers and criminals will have more worth than Mandela and Mother Terresa. Your real worth is the value you add to society around you and how you transform their lives with God's love and grace. Your real worth is the level of God's love in your heart. Once you begin to develop God's love in your heart, you will never feel inadequate again in your life. You will loose all sense of lack. You will become complete. Love completes you. When man fell in the garden, he lost the sense of love. Jesus came to restore that. Now the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost. Love restores all. Love completes all!

Rebelion
Now this is a serious one. A real demonic god hatched from the pit of hell. They come with subtle words like "be what you want to be". "Do what pleases you". It sounds inspiring but it is the direct opposite of God's love. For God so love the world that he gave. He gave! That is God's way. That is God's character. But the new age message is to take, take and take. It is now aggresively promoted through the media. In songs, movies and magazines. They call it being yourself. It is the doctrine of babel. The doctrine of self worship! The doctrine of 666! The doctrine of the antichrist. 666 is not about putting a tag on someone's forehead. It is about man worshiping himself in direct rebelion to God! It is the worst kind of idolatory and it is the kind that will lead to men destroying themselves.

These are some of the new gods that hell has unleashed upon men. If you truly are born of God, you will do well to check yourself daily. The apostle Paul said, I die daily. He also declared
"let him that thinks he stands take heed, lest he falls". 1 Cor 10:12

Keep your eye on the mark. Don't be distracted. Jesus is coming soon!

The only thing that will save Nigeria is repentance from evil works and a return to God!

Everyday all night prayers will not save her!
1000 confessions a day will not save her!
Tithes, offerings and all kinds of seeds will not save her!
Flamboyant sweet talking pastors will not save her!
Christian slogans on facebook will not save her!
Endless church activities and events will not save her!

The only thing that will save her is for Nigerians to fall before God and repent! But, sadly, that is what no one wants to do. They think by quoting "it is well" on their facebook page, all will be well! They think that by quoting their yearly or monthly church slogans, all will be well. They think that self confidence is the same thing as God confidence.

Positive teaching prosperity pastors are God's judgement on those who only want to hear a lie! II Tim 4:2-4. Positive speaking is the devil's trap on those with itching ears. God requires repentance and the turning away from evil. That you make money doesn't mean God has blessed you. The devil can give money and plenty of it for that matter! God is calling you back to your first love. To the place of true worship, not self motivating songs. The reason you need self motivating songs is because your heart is far from God! The righteous is as bold as a lion! Proverbs 28:1

I John 3:21
Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God!

II Chronicles 7:14
All the men of God prophesying that things will be well without the people changing their wicked ways are false prophets. All those prophesying that God will bless those who give big money whether they steal it or not are false prophets! The word of God is clear and cannot be altered! God has never condoned the evil of men! The greatest message of the new testament is our Lord Jesus message to the seven churches in Asia (Revelations 1-3) but our pastors ignore it because it isn't what the people want to hear. But it was what Jesus preached right in the heart of the new testament! It wasn't a message of "it is well". It wasn't a message of positive confessions. It wasn't a message of sowing and reaping! It was the undiluted and uncompromised truth and the solutions therewith!

God has never followed the crowd. Jesus never followed or revelled in the crowd. He sent them away. Christianity is not for the crowd! It is for those who are ready to sing "I have decided to follow Jesus, no turning back, no turning back". When you steal from your office and cheat on those contracts, you are turning back. When you commit all you commit and try to bribe God, you are turning back! You cannot live the way you like and run to church on sunday to repent! You are deceiving yourself because you will go to hell. God is no respecter of persons. Doesnt matter if you are pastor, deacon or member. Makes no difference to God. It only makes difference to men who love titles and man worship!

We are in the last days as prophesied by our Lord Jesus and the apostles. There will be churches with 50, 000 members and none will make heaven. Don't be deceived. God is not impressed by the size of churches or how widespread they are. He is only interested in men's hearts! 1000 church branches filled with sinners and church goers is nothing to God! America is fallen today because the church in America has rejected God and gone after mammon and fame! Nigerian churches are now copying the American model! Going after mammon and fame and self aggradisement and glorification! Saying that godliness is gain. Saying that money is the sign of God's blessing and approval on men! The top 20 richest men on forbes list are not born again. Does that mean God is happy with them and blessing them? If money is a sign of God's approval, then Lady Gaga will be closer to God than most of our pastors today.

I read on a friends status today that "God is to you who you want him to be".

Ridiculous statement!

God is not a hammer or chiesel or screw driver you use to fix things! God is the creator! The giver of life! The one who sits above the circle of the earth, with heaven as His throne and the earth His foot stool. He is not a tool in your hands! He is your master and Lord. He speaks and you follow! In his presence you will find your answer and solution. You don't cook up things and use Him to endorse them. That is a doctrine from hell! God is not a rubber stamp! God's solution to men is simple: follow me and I will make you...! The word of God is clear! Draw nigh to me and I will draw nigh to you! Not the other way around. You cannot expect to "use" God to get things while your heart is far from him. All these prayers and quotes being posted around means nothing if men will not do God's word and walk in holiness and righteousness! Doing God's word is not doing what your pastor says! It is looking into the mirror of God's word by studying it for yourself and doing what it tells you! As you read this, this morning, let the word break your callous, stony, greedy and materialism seeking heart and return back to your first love. Your love for God and your neighbour! Away from mammon and self glorification, remember, the crowd is not going to heaven!

Matthew 7
13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

For Nigeria:
Let us fall on our knees and faces today and weep to God for this nation. Let us start by changing from our wicked ways. Stop the lies and pretence!

Proverbs 14
34 Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.

God does not change. Only men change. Jesus has not changed. He is the same yesterday, today and forever! Halleluiah!

Matthew 7 - The Message Translation:
13-14 "Don't look for shortcuts to God. The market is flooded with surefire, easygoing formulas for a successful life that can be practiced in your spare time. Don't fall for that stuff, even though crowds of people do. The way to life—to God!—is vigorous and requires total attention.

15-20 "Be wary of false preachers who smile a lot, dripping with practiced sincerity. Chances are they are out to rip you off some way or other. Don't be impressed with charisma; look for character. Who preachers are is the main thing, not what they say. A genuine leader will never exploit your emotions or your pocketbook. These diseased trees with their bad apples are going to be chopped down and burned.

I John 3:
7 Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. 8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. 9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. 10 In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother. 11 For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another. 12 Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother.
