oyetpel:but why then are the teachers so keen about resuming fast when we still have a case here...don't u think the numbers of positive infected ones discovered at the moment, some of these teachers u are talking about are there , since no one will tell u they are infected (stigma)..if lessons are carried out by teachers at home , don't u think it's another way to reduce the infections..as an adult going out, I know I'm suppose to protect myself by covering up properly (mask,long sleeves shirt , keep my distance in the bus, sneeze or cough and I jump out of the bus lol or rather run jump away if I'm walking and someone cough or sneeze  ) ..the precautions given are if feeling terribly sick just stay indoors and away from others...so many people dey die now, who knows what's going on since our health system is messed and not capable enough , it's better we wait a Lil time or we wait forever if we can't just keep calm,pray,watch till this pandemic is over..may we all see each other at the end of this pandemic and congratulate ourselves for making it through..once again stay safe sis/bro |

A Lagos High Court sitting in Igbosere, has remanded, two cousins Olamilekan (Goke) Oke, 33, and Akande Adeyinka, 27, at the Ikoyi correctional centre, over alleged rape and murder of one Bernadette Tohouo-Tohouo, 44, the Hungarian wife of a Cameroonian, Gildas Tohouo-Tohouo, the managing director of Maersk Nigeria Limited The duo who resides at 22 Elepe street, Ikorodu and 12 Odunlami Street Shomolu respectively, were arraigned before Justice Modupe Nico-Clay. Justice Nico- Clay, remanded the defendants after they had taken their plea. The defendants are facing eight-count charge bordering on conspiracy, murder, attempted murder, unlawful assault, robbery, armed robbery, and rape, preferred against them by Lagos state government. The Lagos state prosecuting counsel Mr Moyosore Onigbanjo SAN, Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, who led the Director of Public Prosecution DPP, Mrs Adeyinka Adeyemi, told the court that the defendants conspired to commit the alleged offences on December 8, 2019. He said that the incident took place at about 7:30 pm at flat 7A, No 1, Lugard Avenue Ikoyi Lagos. Onigbanjo said “Olamileka (Goke ) Oke, on December 8, 2019, at about 7: 30pm, unlawfully had sexual intercourse with one Bernadetta Tohouo-Tohouo aged 44”. The prosecutor further told the court that the defendants unlawfully killed one Bernadetta Tohouo-Tohouo by suffocating her to death with a small pillow. Onigbanjo SAN, said that the duo attempted to unlawfully kill one Gildas Tohouo-Tohouo, by stabbing him severally on the neck, head and back with a knife and dagger. He said that the defendants unlawfully assaulted Gildas Tohouo-Tohouo and caused him harm, by beating him severally with a hammer on his head. Onigbanjo told the court that the defendants whilst armed with a knife and dagger robbed one Gildas Tohouo –Tohouo and Bernadette Tohouo-Tohouo, of several properties including foreign currencies in different denominations. Others are two iPhones, two bottles of wine, two wedding rings, and one engagement ring. The AG, also alleged that Olamilekan (Goke ) Oke raped, the victim before she was killed. According to him, the offenses committed are contrary to and punishable under Sections 233, 230, 173, 299, 297 (2) (a) 411, of the criminal laws of Lagos state of Nigeria 2015. However, the defendants who are technician and printer respectively pleaded not guilty to the charge against them. The first defendant was represented by a counsel A.O. Odusanya, from the Office of the Public Defender OPD, while Mrs L.Y. Salau and I. T. Akingbade, from Legal Aid Council LAC, appeared for the second defendant. Onigbanjo, however, urged the court for a date to commence trial. SirWarlock:the trauma a parent will go through seeing their children in isolation centres far from their sight... someone was saying they opened up markets and people are still going about their daily runs but wait at least they are adults who knows how to take precautions, if anybody sneeze for my side, I know what to do...I don't go out without using my facemask and each time I return back home,I make sure I don't wear those cloths into the house, I UnCloth in the compound cos it's fenced and make sure it's soaked into a solution for next day washing, I take lots of precautions but will the kids be able to.. government should keep schools close till it's safe, person wey born just one no go risk him pikin life ...make dis people reason am |

MrCanceller:are private teachers ready to sacrifice this term without payments, cos we need to ask ourselves, is it the parents who can't feed properly at the moment would be able to afford school bills due to the inability to work during the Lockdown..even school owners can't pay teachers for now, let's be honest with ourselves...what If teachers keep infecting theirselves and they start losing teachers, we will then get sense and realize we are still in the fight |

What if any teacher who is infected too passes it on to other teachers, do we want to start losing teachers to this virus? Are these people really thinking properly sef...how can parents afford school bills at the moment, no palliatives to keep their belly running sef, If the government wants to open school then they should be ready to sort bills as well but I'm very sure no parents is ready to lose their children at all..some places in Germany who reopened recently are currently going on total lockdown again due to re-infection...let parents take up the responsibility of studying with their kids for now till the Virus is under our feet...no need for the rush, lives are at risk 12 Likes 1 Share |
