Please quys, someone like me that studied accounting, work in different sector over the years, (finance, customer care etc) and volunteered in the health sector too, now going for administrative health, please will this fly? Frankrobbn1: Career advancement is very critical when considering a study permit application. In a bid to show that there is progression in his career, opting for a business or finance program is a logical progressive step for him. He stands a better chance to convince the visa officer about his intent to pursue the business course since he has been running a company of his own over the years.
It will end in praise |

Documents SubmittedI got all my information from this thread and a friend who had just gotten hers (My dad hates agents). 1. SOP (I used my friends own as a guide to write mine. It was about 2 pages). 2. Letter of Sponsorship from my dad. 3. Dad's MyBank Statement. (Good cash inflow and outflow. Closing balance of 50m+). 4. Dad's International Passport. 5. NYSC PPA and Call-up Letter (Was still serving when I applied so no certificate). 6. Bachelor's Degree Certificate 7. Bachelor's Degree Transcript 8. IELTS Result (Band 9. My CV 10. Police certificate (Didn't end up putting it as it was tampered) 11. Travel History: UK, Canada (did K-12 there so it might have been an advantage) 12. Paid Tuition with Form A and sent the schools confirmation through a webform. School required I resume September 6th or defer till next year fall as there's no winter intake. So I deferred and sent the updated Acceptance letter via webform. For my SOP I explained the lack of technology in Nigeria as a reason for studying in Canada – I'm a CS major. I also explained the benefits of my knowledge when I return. School ApplicationAdding this because it might help some people https://www.universitystudy.ca/search-programsYou can use the link to find a school for the major you're interested in. Personally, I didn't want to do thesis so I looked for schools that have course-based programs. I applied to three schools. Got accepted to one in February 2022 but delayed till April when I heard from the other two (rejections). Wanted to defer the one I got to winter so I could retry for some other ones only to find out I couldn't. Please take note of intake terms as it could be important. Thanks to everyone on this thread for the information and help through this journey.
|

Congratulations! May Canada favor you. Please, how long did it take for centennial college to grant you admission? hayoBams: It feels good to be able to share my ppr journey with the nairaland family. I was busy with sending my passport that is y I haven't dropped this sooner, but I'm here now.
I sincerely appreciate all the information and personal experiences shared on this thread. It has indeed helped quite a lot of people including me I owe to this forum Alot as I have profited immensely from it.
I shall be sharing my experience and timeline for my which was successful. please ignore any typographical error as I was literally trembling while typing this. Enough has been said about the preamble and now to main Koko "lol"
as I said in my previous post 1 year no be beans, The journey to Canada started for me in September 2021. But I had no idea about the how to go about it. then a cousin of mine who's also in Canada introduced me to this very informative platform.
I took an IELTS examination in December 2021 and I passed excellently well then I started building up my account "I won't go into much details on building my account cause you don't know who is who on this platform" I was determined to building it for at least 6 months. during this time I applied for an admission at York university for an undergraduate program in software engineering.it literally took a whole month before I got any update from york. then came February 10, I got an admission but to my surprise i was offered an entirely different program to what I had proposed for and the tuition fee was also too much. I was weak but I still had time to regroup my self.
I applied for another admission in March, but this time to 3 different schools including centennial college, George brown college and Humber college. i was offered admission at centennial college then shortly after George brown updated me. I waited a little bit for humber admission but it didn't come on time. I decided i had to go ahead and apply for the study permit with the centennial college LOA on may 14th, 2022. note This is my first application.
Find below the timeline: Portal GCkey * Application date 14/05/2022 * Biometric enrolment 16/05/2022 * Upfront medical. 05/05/2022 * Medical updated 12/06/2022 * Eligibility I'm not really sure about this. * bvl 12/09/2022 * ppr 20/09/2022
documents submitted include the following
1. College Unconditional Official Letter of Admission 2. Tuition deposit receipt (from the College) 3. Copy of my Birth Certificate 5. Copy of my NECO result 6. Copy of my International Passport Bio data page 7. Copy of my family picture (dad, mum,Siblings and I) 8. Statement of Purpose. 9. Landed property documents in (Deed of assignments and Survey plans) 10. medicals 11. CAC 12. sponsor statement of account (mom) 13. custodian letter 14. IELTS Examination result 16. Tax clearance certificate 17. affidavit of sponsorship 18. bank reference letter
my application took 4 months and a week, the wait wasn't easy at all. I didn't even send any emails to them. my application wasn't even close to the best anytime I come on naira land and see stories of refusal I usually say to my self that "these people that were refused even went extra miles in their application shey Dem go give me like dis" But God came through for me and will also come through for the ones waiting. I owe alot to this platform, thanks to everyone who played a big role in my journey the 1 year journey has now come to an end. |

Most schools I’m seeing are not offering human service practitioner, will applying for another program be an issue in my visa application? I laughed and forgot my pain for a bit (this ppr wait is not for the faint hearted) your story is interesting. May God shower his blessings on you and your family! Canada Will favor you all. To us hopefuls, tomorrow, grace will shine on us!! Amen. Oluwanishore: LANDING GIST My ticket was booked for 29th August Got to the airport with my family at about 7:09am. The security at the entrance allowed only three people to enter with us. My husband sha went back outside later to bring my mum and mum-in- law in. Our bags were scanned at the entrance and we were directed to some people by the side of the scanner. Those ones were like ehnn we have liquid in our bags and plenty story started..( money things). We proceeded to Agricultural bla bla stand( those ones collected 5k) I don't know who would travel without food in their bags. From there we joined the queue and we're waiting for Ethiopian airlines to open their stand for checking. That took almost 45 mins. All our bags were below 23kg ( my husband closely monitored the packing). He didn't want to pay extra for excess luggage so we weighed less than 23kg from home believing the scale at the airport would not give correct weight( naija things)..well we were surprised cos our luggages no reach 23kg..e pain me sha cos I left some personal items back home. After clearing our bags and showing necessary docs, we took pics with our parents and left for departure ( it was an emotional moment). After that na immigration checking our traveling docs and asking questions. You go come back? Who dey go for study? Who carry who dey go? We sha boarded around 12:30 pm and took off around 1:30pm. Flight to Addis Ababa was smooth, my son slept most of the time and food was okay. We got to Addis Ababa in the night( not sure about the time) and joined another Ethiopian airline flight going to Toronto. We had a 1hr refueling layover in Dublin but didn't disembark. Then we took off for Toronto. The journey from Addis to Toronto seem like forever. It was longgg and tiring. When we got to Toronto, students with family were directed to a separate room where we did self declaration and also registered the identify of those accompanying us. We then proceeded to the desk of the immigration officer. Mine was a woman and she asked for our passport, introduction letter and a receipt of tuition payment. I didn't make any payment because my school didn't require a deposit and I told her just that. She literally looked me in the face and said' I find it difficult granting you access if you can't show any commitments to your school'. I quickly explained the challenges of paying with Form A to her o and told her I had cash with me to do the payment. She asked me how much I had and how much my tuition for a year is. I gave answers to both questions and she said 'fair enough' then she stood up and printed our permits. From there we went to get our bags because Ethiopian airlines dropped them all at Toronto airport. We had to start searching for our bags and trolley to carry them. We checked them( bags)in again for our flight to St John's. At this point, I was just tired and couldn't wait for the trip to be over. We landed in St John's airport around 4pm on 30th August. The stress and journey was all worth it. I also noticed that everything here is a process and in stages. If you have a guide here, be thankful to God. For those who would be traveling with toddler(s)..may God give you plenty doses of patience. My son showed me pepper. At some point he wanted to carry equal bags as myself and my husband , other times he would just refuse to move his tiny legs, and we had like 5 bags with us( 3 carry ons and two extra) we would beg him in English and threaten him in Yoruba. The boy no send us o. This same human would be calm in the plane o and keep other people engaged and entertained. I Pray the Land of Canada favour us all. To all PPR hopefuls, the Lord will answer all your heartfelt prayers and you shall testify. |
