Well, for a gay guy, when it boils down to sex, it's not just about the sex, it's who you're having it with. I'm attracted to a guy first, before the sexual part of him. Thinking that a gay guy would also be interested in a lady's ass makes it seem as if gay guys are all about sex.

A married gay man (who is married to a woman ), would rather have sex via the vagina, cos to him it's just to satisfy the woman and not cos he gains any pleasure from it. So why would he want to have anal sex with her? He might as well jerk off to a gay porn than do that, except of course the woman asks for it.

Lastly, there are gay guys that have no interest in a guy's ass whatsoever, While others are. I think the population is evenly distributed.

I thought about how to respond to your message without giving away too much as this is a platform with lots of people...both those that mean well and the homophobics.
This is what I've got to say.I do not believe there are specific rules for meeting guys just as there aren't for straight guys that want to meet girls.You need to be out there,take every opportunity to start up conversations with guys you meet. Drop some hints while you talk..and be very observant of their reactions when you do this.And by reactions this includes body language.
How you proceed will depend on what you notice.
Networks help too (friends of friends).

Just like you,many guys out there would rather just remain alone to avoid awkward scenarios.
