From the above in bold you can see that the value was already determined and appreciated before you suddenly went blind ONE DAY!

since the value had already been gotten and all you now have to confirm its the same pieces now is only your sight and then ONE DAY you suddenly lose this much coveted sight and can no longer know if the diamonds or gold have been substituted by rocks since people now have to help you to move around and also help you get the gold and diamond. Would you throw them away since your sight which values them is now gone?
