Michael547:Remember Isreal was constituted as a nation of Priest and not a Monarchy. But one day they cried to Samuel that they need a King like other nations around them. After Samuel told God...this is what God said about the king they will get.....did they listen? Will Nigeria or someone like u listen if God told you not to vote a man? Even if u see the signs I Samuel 8 9 Now listen to them; but warn them solemnly and let them know what the king who will reign over them will claim as his rights.” 10 Samuel told all the words of the Lord to the people who were asking him for a king. 11 He said, “This is what the king who will reign over you will claim as his rights: He will take your sons and make them serve with his chariots and horses, and they will run in front of his chariots. 12 Some he will assign to be commanders of thousands and commanders of fifties, and others to plow his ground and reap his harvest, and still others to make weapons of war and equipment for his chariots. 13 He will take your daughters to be perfumers and cooks and bakers. 14 He will take the best of your fields and vineyards and olive groves and give them to his attendants. 15 He will take a tenth of your grain and of your vintage and give it to his officials and attendants. 16 Your male and female servants and the best of your cattle[c] and donkeys he will take for his own use. 17 He will take a tenth of your flocks, and you yourselves will become his slaves. 18 When that day comes, you will cry out for relief from the king you have chosen, but the Lord will not answer you in that day.” 19 But the people refused to listen to Samuel. “No!” they said. “We want a king over us. 20 Then we will be like all the other nations, with a king to lead us and to go out before us and fight our battles.” 21 When Samuel heard all that the people said, he repeated it before the Lord. 22 The Lord answered, “Listen to them and give them a king.” |

Michael547:. What life has God chosen for you? Are you following God's plan in your life? Or are u sure u are not following ur own plan , bias and lust? If u answer that u will be able to answer the other one..... If u know what it takes to follow God's plan and what it takes to reject it...then u will know wot to do.... If u still have an atom of the spirit of God in you.....read the Bible verse below...and tell me what u see 1. Pro 28:28 "When the wicked rise, men hide themselves: but when they perish, the righteous increase. 2...... "Pro 29:12 If a ruler hearken to lies, all his servants are wicked". 3..... Pro 28:15 "As a roaring lion, and a ranging bear; so is a wicked ruler over the poor people." 4.....Pro 29:2 "When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn" 5...... Pro 29:7 "" The righteous considereth the cause of the poor: but the wicked regardeth not to know it."" 6.......Pro 18:5 ""It is not good to accept the person of the wicked, to overthrow the righteous in judgment"" |

For more context In 1985 Nigerian minimum wage was about N125 which was about $140 then Nigeria minimum wage today is about $20 dollars So going by the standard of 1985....... Nigerians today should be earning at least N210,000 = 140$ × 1500 So if Sowore told u guys that minimum wage shouldn't be less than 100k most foooolish Nigerians Insulted him...cos they are ignorant . But data just shows that in1985 Nigerian earn at least 210,000k if we convert the mininum wage then to now . Infact if we take dollar inflation to account....,the value of minimum wage then in dollar of today is over N300k .,.Many will still argue with this plain data..,cos they have been conditioned all their life to be so small, poor in thinking and lacking in understanding. . So your country is gone and u people don't even know the extent cos u don't understand numbers, history and basic maths...... 1 Like 1 Share |
Religion / Proof That Oyedepo's N10 Used For Son Naming Ceremony Is About N48,654 Today by PeterObi4Presid: 11:42pm On May 12 |
Let's prove it : using historical currency rate and inflation rate. I wonder why some Nairalander said N10 in 1985 could equal 1 million today. How did they pull such figure, one person even said that 10 naira is worth 10 million. Haba. Are we so dull and gullible with numbers? So this is what I did: - I checked the year said Oyedepos son was born - And I check the data to confirm Dollar to Nigeria rate in that year With Google search, I found out that : 1. Isaac Oyedepo was born in 1985 2. And in 1985 1$ =0.894 naira (Apparently Naira was even stronger than dollar ) wow! No wonder some rejected travelling abroad then when they had the opportunity With this data; let's do basic maths - If 1 dollar = 0.894 naira Then N10 naira of 1985 = (10/0.894) dollars in same yr Therefore ....... 10 Naira of 1985 = $11.1856 dollar in 1985 Now Since we we know the dollar value, let's change it to dollar and Naira of 2024 -Using inflation rate data from wiki....... $1 of 1985 = 2.9 dollar today So. 11.1856 dollar of 1985 = 2.9 × 11.1856 = 32.436 dollar Now since the value of 10 Naira was $11.1856 dollar which is now $34 dollar today, So let's change $32. 4 to Naira value, using 1 dollar = N 1500 todays rate So Today's value of 10 naira of 1985 = 1500 x 32.4 = N 48,654 So that money is well more than our minimum wage of 30k (what was the minimum wage then?) This is how to reason in numbers. Nigerians are known to hate fact or data.... It's same reason many Nigerians insulted Obi for always pulling out data to put issues in proper context. Not surprising they clapped for a man who insulted the integrity and value of data and statistics to politics and economics of a nation... So, Oyedepo used 48,600 for his naming ceremony in todays value If a poor man uses that amount for his naming ceremony, is it okay? Normal, or below expectations ? And if u think my calculation is wrong....Let's see urs 2 Likes 1 Share |

Religion / My Spiritual Fervency Is Affecting My Secular Interests: How Do I Find Balance? by PeterObi4Presid: 5:44am On Apr 27 |
Please, this call for opinion/advise is strictly directed to people in the Lord who have been in my shoes, and who are genuinely on fire for God , not to some random nominal Christians who aren't sure of their standing with God or some argumentator who only get validation from likes. Thanks for understanding. Now, since I gave my life to God, a lot has changed about my life...tangible radical changes. One of those changes is in that most times or when I go on fasting spree, I find it hard to combine spiritual exercise and my secular interest that are also important We all know we have to work to feed. And we also have to explore our interests, but in my case, my fervency for spiritual things almost always takes my mind off other things in such that I can't concentrate on them as I would wish, as spiritual matters takes up my mind the more. Many times I feel guilty that it sort of makes me procrastinate on personal interest I am working on as I spend my concentration on reading Bible, trying to memorize verses, fasting and praying...And as we also know, fasting takes away strength and inclines one more to spiritual things more than secular personal matters... How do I strike a balance and still continue to burn for God? Sincerely, my love for God increases and being fervent brings inner joy and more revelation, but anytime I occupy my mind with my secular pursuit for maybe a week, i notice i feel less connected to God and lose my peace and physical touches of the spirit.....I dont know what i am missing, i truly desire wisdom in this matter....cos i do also have career interest that needs deep attention and full cognition.... I will appreciate sincere reply by true men or sons of God On how to switch between both world and operate effectively in both sides and still maintain concentration |

Kobojunkie: kobojunkie dont be too linear and rigid in ur biblical analysis -----u won't get the general picture of the bible.......KINDLY read my analysis for ur understanding of my point ----- THE spirit part of man is a veritable means by by which GOD speak to man '' “I tell you the truth in Christ, I am not lying, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Spirit …” (Romans 9:1)''.... In another instance GOD also tries to communicate with every man in dream and different means...but many don't perceive it job 33v 14 '' For God does speak—now one way, now another—though man perceives it not . '' ....GOD has spoken to many alien kings through dreams.....of which men of GOD wit spirit or gift of dream interpretation had to unravel those dreams to those kings-----and of course dream is a spirit aided communication ...especially prophetic dream...so God can impress in ones spirit any meassage only if man will perceieve----remembner the wife of PONTIUS PILATE how she had a dream where she suffered and told her husband to wash his hands away from CHRIST impending cruxifixion? Job said In Job 33 v 1-20 “In a dream, for instance, a vision at night, when men and women are deep in sleep, fast asleep in their beds— God opens their ears and impresses them with warnings To turn them back from something bad they’re planning, from some reckless choice, And keep them from an early grave, from the river of no return''. -------------------that right there is spirit communication ROMans 2 vs 14 - 16 ''(Indeed, when Gentiles, who do not have the law, do by nature things required by the law, they are a law for themselves, even though they do not have the law. 15 They show that the requirements of the law are written on their hearts, their consciences also bearing witness, and their thoughts sometimes accusing them and at other times even defending them.) 16 This will take place on the day when God judges people’s secrets through Jesus Christ, as my gospel declares.''--------pls don't think ignorance by feeling a child of god with gods spirit can not be misled into bad path by the devil as this young man-----it happens when we give chance to devils thoughts ----but fhe spirit of God can warn us by any means as i quoted JOB and ROMANS for u to see------------------------at least remember SAUL who once prophesied by the spirit of GOD but still was rejected of GOD because he erred by visiting a medium----so its possible for a Christian to visit a medium by error or manipulation ---its also possible for God to warn them in dream or by conscience ---- “I tell you the truth in Christ, I am not lying, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Spirit …” (Romans 9:1) |

Kobojunkie: The book of Isaiah is a reference to period before exile, around exile and and after their return to JERUSALEM depending on the chapter u are reading------Zechariah was around after exiles-----and he also referenced the 70 yrs period of exile in the chapter u quoted to tell u it is still same theme and issue with people who have rejected Gods statute-----even till the period of MALACHI after exile------how do u use that to say God don't care about fasting if u know it was a period they were not remorsed for GOD and God demanded their repentance instead of religious observance of fast of a certain months instituted by MOSES in the book of Leviticus----Are u also saying MOSES/GOD never instituted fast in certain months---? I BELIEVE U WILL ALSO ARGUE THAT--- pls i am tired of this unfruitful egoistic argument -----i am a believer in fasting----and i do it for various reasons and it has been a blessing and source of strength to my work with GOD like the prophets and apostles fasted ====don't fast and continue ur glutony-----dont deny yourself of anything and continue ur fleshly argument ------people in the spirit can tell the motive and truth of this argument |

Religion / Re: 8 Important Reasons We Should Fast As Christians. by PeterObi4Presid: 9:03pm On Nov 19, 2023 |
The problem with kobojunkie is that he probably belongs to a sect that dismisses people. instead of focusing on spiritual growth by personal end to end scriptural analysis with humility and prayers for insight, hes busy running around with half truths fed into his mind by his sect, falling into same error he accuses the general Christian ------imagine the gut to say fasting has no spiritual value-----that's some extreme dogmatic take-i remember him arguing about prophecy and jews verse gentile vs Abrahams heir argument ----imagine asking me to provide scriptural verses of some well popular bible personages who fasted-----i have not even delved into many examples of fasting practise in new testament ---yet my know all brother is asking me to proof that Hezekiah, Esther and Nineveh fasted and was accepted----i find it shocking . I think until you understand the context around Isaiah 58 u should stop quoting it as the sole supreme authority in the teaching of fasting -----pls understand the historical background and setting of ISAIAH 58--------and stop using that isolated case to cancel fast in general. God will always accept the right fast with the right mind. With the wrong mind, even if u give alms to all poor in ur village God will still reject it. God searches our motive and heart in everything we do including our fasting, prayer, worship, arguments and ambitions |
Religion / Re: 8 Important Reasons We Should Fast As Christians. by PeterObi4Presid: 7:53pm On Nov 19, 2023 |
Kobojunkie: GOD has honored a lot of genuine fast before ISAIAH 58 AND also honored many fast after ISAIAH 58, and JESUS also never ridiculed fasting he only showed us how to remove hypocrisy from fasting and prayer. THE question is do u at all ever wondered why GOD rejected the fasting of ISAIAH 58 and do u understand the context around it? and do u care to know why GOD accepted the Fast of an alien city like NINEVEH-----so why did God reject the fasting of his people in in ISAIAH 58 AND same GOD also demanded for a FAST in JOEL 2------U SEE-----context matters......Same GOD also accepted the fast of HEZEKIAH AND the fast of his people during the time of ESTHER in ESTHER 4 V16 "Go, gather all the Jews to be found in Susa, and hold a fast on my behalf, and do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. I and my young women will also fast as you do.'' untill u understand those simple questions u won't get the bigger picture., u should ask ursef those questions....So stop displaying ur ignorance about fasting and study the context around isaiah 58 to know why GOD rejected that fast and accepted many of others including the fast of an alien nation....good night and stop wasting my time and the readers times with baseless argument dancing round a circle |
Religion / Re: 8 Important Reasons We Should Fast As Christians. by PeterObi4Presid: 7:09pm On Nov 19, 2023 |
Kobojunkie: As usual u ran away from truth of arguments and start cherry picking and twisting bible-------imagine discouting 21 days fast as 21 days depression---meanwhile isn't fasting also a time to depress our self and humble our spirit in honour and worship of GOD like Daniel and the people of Nineveh THIS is what my Bible say in JOEL 2 but u have misquoted it kjv Joe 2:12 Therefore also now, saith the LORD, turn ye even to me with all your heart, and WITH FASTING and with weeping, and with mourning: Joe 2:13 And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the LORD your God: for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth him of the evil. Joe 2:14 Who knoweth if he will return and repent, and leave a blessing behind him; even a meat offering and a drink offering unto the LORD your God? Joe 2:15 Blow the trumpet in Zion, SANCTIFY A FAST call a solemn assembly: SO why do u twist this simple passage where GOD demanded a fast and also differentiates it by also calling for mourning and contrite heart Another point is that DANIEL also fasted in DANIEL 9 vs 3------ls that also ordinary mood swing and mere depression as u say? read it below to see the word fast befor misquoting it Dan 9:1 In the first year of Darius the son of Ahasuerus, of the seed of the Medes, which was made king over the realm of the Chaldeans; Dan 9:2 In the first year of his reign I Daniel understood by books the number of the years, whereof the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah the prophet, that he would accomplish seventy years in the desolations of Jerusalem. Dan 9:3 And I set my face unto the Lord God, to seek by prayer and supplications, WITH FASTING and sackcloth, and ashes: Now, have u ever explored the whole book of Isaiah AND JEREMIAH and prelude to babylonian captivity and wickedness while in captivity and in JERUSALEM just to understand the context of ISAIAH chapter 58? cos i see u cherry-pick it just like the way Muslims cherry pick one verse and fail to understand the context, -------bro u need a lot to do. If i engage you on the context of ISAIAH 58 I BELIEVE WE WON'T LEAVE HERE cos i know u dont grasp the context of ISAIAH 58 at all AND u are running away with error and downplaying fasting as a whole....May God give u humility to search his word for clarity and not cherrypick to uphold the dogma of ur denomination------u can't understand the bible by running with one verse in isolation-----that will always birth an erorr like most Christians do today |

Kobojunkie:1. instead of blind argument why not Define fast according to the mind of CHRIST since u believe no one understands fast according to the mind of Christ--- 2. YOU once said fast has no spiritual value, yet almost all great men of GOD embarked in fasting-which i showed you yet u implied their fasting exercise was needless, valueless or meaningless-----even ISREAL as a nation did fast of a number of occasions but u say it has no spiritual value that it's all Paganistic========then all men of GOD in the scripture who fasted must have followed a pagan practise according to you------right? that quoting u 3. then u said GOD never commanded it for any value ? what a joke u are and a proud twister of the truth of the scriptures. i dint want to reply u again cos i know your motive----------but if u ever cared about the truth of the word of God ----you won't make GOD a liar because GOD CALLED AND DEMANDed A FAST IN JOEL 2 v 12-15 -----have u ever read that part of the bible or is it just about scoring cheap Nairaland points? ''Therefore also now, saith the LORD, turn ye even to me with all your heart, and with FASTING, and with weeping, and with mourning: 13 And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the LORD your God: for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth him of the evil. 14 Who knoweth if he will return and repent, and leave a blessing behind him; even a meat offering and a drink offering unto the LORD your God? 15 Blow the trumpet in Zion, sanctify a fast, call a solemn assembly: 16 Gather the people, sanctify the congregation, assemble the elders, gather the children, and those that suck the breasts: let the bridegroom go forth of his chamber, and the bride out of her closet. '' Imagine saying Moses dint intend to fast----yet he did 40 days fast twice ---will u also say DANIELS 21 days fast wasn't intended too? Probably a joke or a mistake for 21 days? You need humility if u want to grow----and most especially, u need the fast declared in JOEL 2 VS 12-15------u need it and i prescribe it to cure ur unhealthy argument and twisting of GODS word for cheap point like a cynic that u are 1 Like |
