FoodShattering Glass Lid Table Top Gas Cooker: Is This A Preventive Measure?(photos) by peterpeteru(op): 3:46am On Jan 24, 2023
Sequel to this post: https://www.nairaland.com/7532777/table-top-gas-stove-suddenly

I came across the above post last Saturday morning, just like many people, I read all the comments on all four pages, (very unlike me), hoping to see, at least, one preventive measure, but alas, I found none. Instead, lots of people suggested we stop using the glass-top burner. Really? Is cutting off the head a solution to headaches? huh

In all you do avoid the AWD option. It's not bad, it's just more expensive to repair the transmission if and when it fails.

For trims
https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.lexingtontoyota.com/blog/what-do-the-toyota-trim-level-acronyms-mean/

No let them scam you CE in naija means " cheap edition " that classic was to make it look good.

The air-conditioning is a manual compressor, very reliable , with high mileage leaks are common on the compressor, also rear evaporator leaks are common too.

Thanks again, boss.
I feel well informed now.

Carparts888:
Let me help out with what i know about this.
If its for transport avoid any Awd as they tend
to be problematic after numerous trips.
As for the model trim, it depends on what you can afford as XLE either Fwd or Awd is the extra luxurious edition which comes with all the fullest options than the other LE and CE trim. The options of XLE usually include heated seats, leather seat, DVD with navigation, auto climate control system, heated mirror etc. while LE(luxurious edition) is the trim with the second best options and the CE(classic edition or base model) has the least options and its usually the cheapest trim.
XLE is obviously the best but they are the most expensive trim so buy it if u can afford or go for LE or CE.
The AC system is not complicated for 2004 to 2006 sienna.
Thanks boss. This is quite educating.

First model 1998-2002

Used Parts are all becoming scarce (the car don de finish)

The 2004-2006 with the 3mz is the current transport champion on Nigerian roads, same engine and transmission as the ES330 (flip to page to to read) sturdy suspension, abused day and night and it peforms.

The 2006-2010 with the 2gr-fe engine, not loved by the transporters as it apparently consumes more fuel, and it requires an engine drop for any major engine job.

2011-date. Those ba3tards built nonsense, the car just long like limo with horrible ground clearance, it did not receive same welcome as it's predecessor, it also has a ₦1m transmission if you do any how. It's the real definition of big for nothing .

Thanks boss for the succinct response.

Which of the 2006 trims with 3mz engine can you recommend? e.g AWD, CE FWD, LE FWD, LE AWD, XLE FWD, etc.

What of the AC?

Please note that my method is crude, cost effective and efficient too, designed by me and not a method abide by any intl. Code

Rails and panels come anodized - so no conductivity

To penetrate to the conducting part, fairly sand off the surface of connections and link together from there using a good lug or buy those clip like things that bits into the rail or panel to do above mentioned.
All right sir.
One last question for now, please cheesy
Can my solar system of 3Kva and 500Ah wet cells batteries power a 1.5hp submersible pump or would you advise I stick to my 3Kva generator in pumping?

Thanks a tonne!

A well buried 6ft copper earth rod will do just what you need for you but ensure that

1. There is conductivity between panels and frame

2. The third cable in stealth of PV cable isn't used but say a okay guage flex cable

3. All Earth can terminate at your new earth point now.

4. If cash dey SPD won't be a bad idea.

Cheers
Many Thanks Boss!
By 'default' design, is there conductivity between the panel and the frame?
If no, kindly suggest how this can be achieved.

Good day Gurus in the house,
I would like to know how I can best protect my solar system from thunder and lightning. I told the installer to earth the solar panels and the inverter but be refused telling me it's very wrong to "connect AC to DC"
I really don't understand his point and he wouldn't explain himself. He said the '3rd' wire in the solar cable must be connected to a thunder arresting device which he would install for me for 250k.

Please, is he right?
Can the copper earth rod device be used instead because I can't afford 250k, besides the building is a bungalow?
Can he connect the earth wire in the solar cable and inverter to the copper earth rod?

Kindly advise.
Thanks in anticipation.

@ Peter peteru.

If you are going back to sango ota. Come from abule egba under bridge. N head towards the main route , keep to the left, you are doing a double back( you turn ) towards abule egba back.

You are linking through Ekoro road/ command road. You mite need google map here to guide.

Going down ekoro road, for some km, the next right will link you with AIt road, from there, dt shd lead you to sango ota.

If you are coming back from sango ota, follow the same pattern.

Dere is always traffic on ekoro road in the morning, so you mite need to set out early.

Going through the main Sango- toll gate route is suicide to the car, please avoid that route indefinitely.
Dear @northbird and @Olayetan,
I went through this route today, it was indeed a smooth ride, though long and with a lot of turns but 'Gmap to the rescue!'
Thanks a ton, God bless you more.

Where are you moving from to pen down the road network in detail.

But if you are familiar with Justrite at iyana ipaja, from that Justrite, take that straight road heading towards abesan,

the 1st round about after that Justrite is moshalashi bus, you will pass there and keep going straight,

the 2nd round about is in front of abesan estate, keep straight on your lane,

at the 3rd round about, there's a road to your right, that's command road, turn right and keep going straight, you will notice a downhill on that road and once you pass that downhill, there's a small bridge, immediately you descend from that bridge, there's a clean tarred road to your left, that's ikola road, the road is narrow and you have to be careful driving there cause road users abuse that road cause of the smoothness.

From that road, you can use Gmap to navigate to oju ore...
Many thanks.

Another succinct alternative. Many thanks boss.

I have noted everything.

I knew there has to be somewhere other car drivers were passing through as I was literally the only car driver on that terrible road on Monday. Other vehicles were public buses and trucks.
It's been a miracle the car hasn't broken down driving through that road every week.

You pass through iyana ipaja down to ajasa command road then link ikola road, its a straight road down to oju ore then from there, its not far from sango otta...

The road is fully tarred and smooth.
I know Oju Ore very well but I'm hearing Ikola for the first time.
Your description sounds succinct. Thanks a ton. I can complement it with Gmap and by asking people.
I'll appreciate more details though in case of necessity.

Again, many thanks boss.

@ JP world @ bigleaf.

The intent is not to knock down anybody's hustle.

Just a heads up for drivers who get request to that axis. Cos by default Google map will take them through the sango toll gate road n rite now. Both axis are terribly bad.

If you get a trip going to that side ( towards sango toll gate) , ensure you don't go beyond 'Clem road'

,( Clem road will lead you back to ijayie/ post office, from there you link up to terry grilllo street n you can find your way.

If you fail to use clem road, then ensure you turn into the 'Alakuko' road, I think it leads to ijayie, I'm not sure.

If you insist going to sango ota. Use the Ekoro/ command road, and link up with the AIT road, that will cut you off from the gullies on the sango-toll gate expressway.
Boss, kindly help with clearer directions of movement to and from Sango Ota. Truly, the main route is super terrible. I know some of those places you mentioned only by names.

I work here in Lagos and go through that road every week with a Corolla sport car. It hasn't been pleasant at all. My back bumper got pulled out on Monday at Kola/Moshalashi.

I don't know any other route and I can't take public bus because of their scarcity from my home, outrageous fares and the way people are packed like sardines.

Please help with alternative routes before the car breaks into two. One of my front wheels is already making one funny sound cheesy

Bikonu.

Rebuilding if done by a competent techy will solve the problem.. But is it worth it? Price wise.. Competent techy don't come cheap...

If I was you.. I will go with option one.. And check my oil level every saturday morning..
Oil burning and sludge are not immediate death sentence as most people make it seems.. That same engine will go years.. As long as top up the oil when it gets low..

So when I said "till engine dies" I don't mean die from your oil problem .. So many other things might kill the engine, engines cannot run forever..

worse case to me is engine replacement, I will not consider selling my car because of "small" oil burn and I will not spend over 100k for a corolla engine rebuild
Waaooooh
It feels like a fully loaded Dangote cement truck has just been lifted off my shoulder. grin grin

Maybe somebody is using a straw to suck your oil grin grin..
If your oil is not leaking then its definately smoking.. My guess at higher RPM
Engine Oil don't just disappear.. Its either burnt(smoking) or leaking..

You have 3 choices, I will start from the cheapest.

- Go back to the "wrong oil".. Continue using till engine dies, its cheaper, top up engine oil as required..
- Try another oil brand..forget synthetic oil sir, your corolla does not even need it.. I know some engines that burn drink mobil 1 but sip other oil brands..hope you get get drift grin
-Rebuild or replace
Thanks a ton boss for your apt input.

Concerning the 3 choices sir,
1. By "till engine dies," hope it's not that it'd get knocked suddenly on the highway or would there be prior signs or warnings?
2. The wrong oil I meant was the sae40. I got the drift sir grin
3. lipsrsealed embarassed

Should I be considering this 4th choice or would rebuilding permanently solve the problem and without sludge?
4. Sell off lipsrsealed

If it's already heavily sludged, cleaning will only allow lighter weight oils leak/burn internally. I think going with the higher weight oil should be your route if you still want to continue using the engine though it will be for while. ;-)

Good day Gazzuzz and other car gurus.

I drive a corolla 2007 sport I bought last October.
It's engine is heavily slugged cos the former owner was using the wrong oil grade.
So, in December, I flushed it with Liqui Moly and switched to mobil1 synthetic oil
The problem now is, the oil gets short persistently despite driving the car for just once a week, about a 100 km to and fro.

The car drives smoothly, doesn't smoke nor leaks.

What could be the problem sirs and kindly suggest solutions.

Many thanks.
