Boko Haram on Sunday released a video of the girls allegedly kidnapped from Chibok in April 2014, showing some who are still alive and claiming others died in air strikes. The video is the latest release from embattled Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau, who earlier this month denied claims that he had been replaced as the leader of the jihadist group. “They should know that their children are still in our hands,” said a man whose face was covered by a turban in the video posted on YouTube. “There is a number of the girls, about 40 of them, that have been married by the decision of Allah,” said the man in the 11-minute video, which shows girls with veils sitting on the ground and standing in the background. “Some of them have died as a result of aerial bombardment.” The mass kidnapping of 276 Chibok school girls in April 2014 provoked global outrage and brought unprecedented attention on the Boko Haram conflict, in which at least 20,000 people have been killed since 2009. Throughout 2015, the Nigerian military announced the rescue of hundreds of people, most of them women and children, who have been kidnapped by Boko Haram. But the missing schoolgirls were not among them, despite several unconfirmed sightings. SOURCE: http://www.petmaxflame.com/2016/08/boko-haram-releases-new-video-of.html Cc; Lalasticlala, Mynd44

The State's Commissioning for Information and Strategy, Mr. Steve Ayorinde who confirmed this while briefing newsmen at the Lagos House, Ikeja, said the step to shut the wells and condone off the area was taken by government to forestall loss of lives and property as a result of the looming danger. He said the State Government was working with the NNPC for further investigation. According to a new report by the National Bureau of Statistics, seven out of every 10 children in Tanzania are living in poverty. The report released on Thursday details child poverty in the country on a monetary basis and gauges other parameters such as nutrition, sanitation, education, water, health, housing, protection and access to information. The Child Poverty in Tanzania 2016 survey shows that 26 per cent of children are from poor households, and are thus deprived of basic needs like health, education and sanitation in what the report refers to as "multidimensional poverty". The report also indicates that 48 per cent of children are from families that do not experience monetary poverty, and yet they experience multidimensional poverty. The third group comprises three per cent of children, who are experiencing monetary poverty alone. The three categories combine make up 77 per cent of children who are experiencing either monetary or multidimensional poverty or both. Only 23 per cent of children in the country do not face any kind of poverty, according to the report. According to the last national census of 2012, there are 24 million children (under 18) in the country, and this means that about 18 million of them are living in poverty. The study was conducted in three phases from 2008 to 2013 and involved 5,010 households, of which 3,947 had children. Data was obtained from 11,843 children involved in the study. South Africa's economy has leapfrogged Nigeria's as Africa's largest in dollar terms, reclaiming the top spot it lost two years ago. Both economies face recession after contracting this year. But while the South African rand has gained more than 16 per cent since the beginning of 2016, Nigeria's naira has plunged by more than a third of its value. At their respective exchange rates, Nigeria's gross domestic product is $296 billion, while the size of South Africa's economy is $301 billion, Bloomberg reported Wednesday, quoting the International Monetary Fund figures at the end of 2015. Nigeria's GDP was in excess of $500 billion when the nation's economy surpassed South Africa's in April 2014. That followed the recalculation of the GDP data by the former government of Goodluck Jonathan - the first time that happened in two decades. Nigeria is facing its worst economic crisis in decades, and the economy has shrunk by 0.4% since 2015 amid low oil prices and output and acute shortage of foreign currency. A British man who killed a fellow Muslim because he felt he had disrespected Islam has been sentenced to at least 27 years in prison. Tanveer Ahmed admitted stabbing and beating shopkeeper Asad Shah to death at his Glasgow convenience store in March. Prosecutors said Ahmed, 32, told police his actions were motivated by Shah's "disrespect (for) the Quran, the Prophet Muhammad, Allah and faith." Shah was a member of the Ahmadiyya Muslim community, which differs from mainstream Islam in that it doesn't regard Muhammad as the final prophet. Ahmed did not know his victim but had seen statements he had posted online. Judge Rita Rae sentenced Ahmed Tuesday to life with no chance of parole for 27 years. She said he committed a "barbaric" crime and had shown no remorse. SOURCE: http://www.petmaxflame.com/2016/08/uk-man-jailed-for-killing-shopkeeper.html

Windows 10 is one year old, Microsoft is celebrating with its first major update for the operating system. The Windows 10 Anniversary update is free to all existing Windows 10 users starting Tuesday, August 2. Though not a mind-blowing overhaul, the subtle update does include a handful of brand new features and takes care of some housekeeping. For older computers, the main benefits are increased stability and security. Edge, Windows' replacement browser for Internet Explorer, gains support for extensions and is more power efficient. Cortana can be accessed without unlocking the PC and can now file away random notes like your frequent flier number. Newer systems with compatible hardware will get the more interesting updates. Windows Hello, the security feature that wants to replace passwords with face-detection, fingerprints and iris scans, will work with websites and apps. Anyone with a touchscreen device gets a new collection of stylus apps, called Windows Ink, which includes overhauled sticky notes, reminders, and handwriting recognition. The update will roll out gradually to Windows 10 users, starting with the newest machines first. If you don't want to wait, head over to the settings menu and go to Update & Security --> Windows Update to manually check for it. As always, back up your system before taking a chance on a major operating system upgrade. read more http://www.petmaxflame.com/2016/08/the-first-major-windows-10-update-is.html Cc; Lalasticlala, Ishilove, Semid4lyfe, Obinoscopy come and see oooo
