@ the first bolded, someone earlier posted that if Ideye plays week in week out then he should be considered for the trip to Russia ahead players like Ahmed Musa right?

@ Second bolded you still have not shown me where I admitted to not liking him.

@ Third bolded, maybe you need to know how to chose words that better buttress your points.

@ Fourth bolded you clearly stated I disliked him

@ Your last sentence, do you believe in Ezenwa's abilities as our first choice goalie for the World Cup? Of course no. It simply means we all dislike Ezenwa because none of us including me believes in his abilities to be first choice.

Baba, na you get time for the guy o.

Just leave him before he starts crying as usual again.

You that claim to defend home based players but does not believe in Ezenwa's abilities. From your logic you either hate or dislike the player.

Ermmm.... Bros I think this issue has been settled. Rohr has attached a trainer to Uzoho. I think who our number one goal keeper will be is 90% settled.
Uzoho
Ezenwa
Akpeyi (love him or hate him)

But don't be disappointed if Ezenwa emerges first choice.

Personal goalkeeper training is not enough.

Game experience is key o.

j Make i hear word oga. lol. no one hates Ezenwa, he's not just proved himself to be a reliable first choice keeper. 2nd choice maybe, but I'm sure he will be in Russia but not as our first choice. You don't always rate a goalkeeper by number of cleansheets, how many shots did he stop in those matches? You would leave a tall, well built and serious minded tallent as Uzoho for that short showman who can't even handle a cross perfectly? All the best sir!

Like the short show man or hate him, he is World Cup bound.

Trying to In thdownplay his poor positioning won't help the Eagles, so you want us to ignore his apparent and very dangerous flaws? so when we get to the world cup and our opponents start scoring due to his inability to deal with crosses or do you think all strikers will be forgiven like Slimani and the other Algerian guy who couldn't score from few yards out due to his inability to deal with crosses? make una continue to support mediocrity o, all of us eyes go clear when we reach world cup

The poor position issue is often over magnified by many here.

Some even said he has not made any saves. Who saved all the Libyan shorts that were on target in that game?

There is no goalkeeper that is perfect when dealing with aerial battles.

What do we have goal keeper trainers in the team for?

So it is Uzoho that is proven right?

My friend in the absence of Enyeama, Ezenwa is a safer choice than Uzoho.

Talking about clean sheets. At the end of a tournament, rating of the goalkeepers are done from those that finished in top 4 and number of clean sheets kept is a major factor.

Exactly.

I don't think there is need for comparison,i mean Ezenwa vs Ajiboye or any upcoming keepers cos Ezenwa has the experience which put him ahead.

I w pick Ezenwa ahead of Ajiboye or Uzoho based on experience but when it comes to talent and rudiment of goalkeeping i will would go for Uzoho and Ajiboye cos have watched the trio critically but for now Ezenwa is ahead based on his performance especially against Cameroon and Zambia.

I will not deceive you some are watching CHAN cos of Ezenwa, not to criticise him but to see his development as a WC bound keeper.

That is how you view it. Perfectly stated, devoid of any sentiments.

But do you know there are some peeps here who are waiting for Ezenwa to fail so that Rohr will drop him completely from the WC team?

Which test will he receive in this CHAN that would be more than what he received against Cameroon, Zambia and Algeria. All 4 matches he only conceded two goals from penalties. He has kept several clean sheets for the Eagles despite some of his lapses.

I tell you some are just waiting for that moment to nail him. They will not give him credit for keeping clean sheet but are quick to point to cases where he was out of position. Has their been any goalkeeper that is always in perfect position?

Someone even said he will not give Ezenwa any credits but we shall watch and see as the team gets to the final. If you wish Ezenwa to fail it simply means you want the team to fail. Simple.

This CHAN is only going to boost Ezenwa's confidence level and rating.

It is not the case of a a goalie making the occasional mistake. It is time and time again.

Ezenwa had no save to make in both games, he was shielded by the defense.

In a game, where several shots are raining in and we are under pressure, i am not convinced that Ezenwa is the man to save us.

Ezenwa is more comfortable with crosses than Akpeyi but i am not convinced that he is world cup level.

Go watch the two matches again, but this time with an open mind.

Ezenwa has not been tested. Do you know how many times he misjudged crosses already. His defense is saving him from been exposed.

Misjudging crosses happens to every goalie.

Today, Petre Czech took some wrong decisions in punching some balls rather than holding it.
But that does not take the credit away from Ezenwa in keeping yet another clean sheet.
He deserves the credit please.

If it were Afelokhai or Ajiboye that hard the kind of performance Ezenwa has had thus far I know you will pay a blind eye to some of the misjudgments and claim they are better than Ezenwa.

Nobody will credit your account for it so just save your self the headache of trying to defend all those mediocre players you are mentioning.

There is a way you will keep defending mediocrity that it will generally affect your out look in life.

Just like oga icon4s said Sunday Faleye is the only positive from this team thus far. We have seen a player we can immediately integrate into our youth teams and who if he works hard may make the Super Eagles in future.

Madam, forget versatility, taking 5/6 players playing d same role is counter productive, we re not going to Russia to play with wing backs/defenders only!, grin

I sense rohr might drop eida aina/ebuehi,most esp if we are to adopt d new 3-5-2 formation in our group matches and hopefully beyond d group stage too

grin It is the emotion of not letting go of any of those players. The truth is Aina and Ebuehi are the two least players in the pecking order. At least one of them painfully may not make Russia.

For now it seems the competition is in the Left Back. Aina have been playing as a left back and it seems that is where Rohr want him so one of Idowu/Aina/Echiejile may need to drop.

So who would you rather drop?

Yes, I'm glad we both share the same opinion on this. Ebuehi recovers well and he should becoming on for Moses in the latter stages but depending on the situation of the game. Wing backs needs more rests because they are expected to cover lots of grounds as they attack and defend. So it will be okay that they are substituted towards the end.

When you are chasing a game would you prefer to change a Wing Back instead of making attacking substitutions?

Don't even talk about making substitutions in that position. It is usually not necessary. If you need to seal off a game would you rather change a wing back or introduce an extra midfielder or a defender?

If you think Moses will play that WB position exactly as he plays for Chelsea then you are on a long thing. In the green and white jerseys, his level of discipline drops, becomes more selfish and may not be able to recover quickly to join the defense as he does for Chelsea.
I go with icon4s we need Moses in a more attacking position. Either Aina or Shehu can play as Wing Back or Full back, depending on which formation the coach adopts.
