Good morning Winners. I ll definitely miss mourinho. i ll miss his pride, arrogance, confidence, remarks etc. funny how i miss him even though i'm a barca fan with no love lost btw us and chelsea. He brought a refreshing new lease of life to the EPL. He changed it from the Arsenal/Man U affair that it had been before then. I still think it's a smart move on his part to part ways seeing that the management was putting too much pressure on him. Better to quit when the ovation is loudest than stay and take the blame when things start going awry for no fault of his. At least he still has about $25 million (phaps more!) to take home as severance package. Aint it funny how we toil and sweat the holy hell out of our systems going to school, doing all the TDBs, burning the late candles, taking shit from lecturers (we either make firstclass, 2.1 or we r on our own), spending (literally spending!) one whole year to do NYSC, and then job-hunting, writing so-called aptitude tests and, and now this WAITING and DAYDREAMING for NLNG while some dudes out there can get $25 million which is about N6 billion as "severance package" ? Maybe, just maybe i should have gone into football or entertainment ![]() meanwhile while we wait for NLNG, we still have at least the soccer league seasons to occupy our minds, after much much IT'S WELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ![]() |
has anybody noticed that there r two user names for the poster - @play and @taibabie- on page 1? |
up Barca!!!! A lot of teams seem to have improved a great deal. Arsenal and liverpool r noteworthy. This just goes to show the amount of work barca has to do at the european level. They always do so well at home in the nou camp but struggle in the away matches. Wish them well. up barca!!!!!!!! |
Hurray!!! I just got an email from NLNG inviting me for medicals in Lagos. The mail says the medicals will run through from 3rd to 12th of October and that I should make myself available for tests/examination within this period. Even though it concluded by saying "This is not an offer of employment", I just know it's as good as one since I've got no issues wit my health. Gosh! I had been daydreaming. ![]() IT"S WELL WITH US ALL!!!!! |
it seems like messi wont be playing the osasuna match due to injury. wil miss him cos he's one hell of a consistent playmaker |
I'm glad to learn we can rest assured that not only will they be contacting us through multiple means but also that it will be to everybody ("successful"or not). I remember quite vividly that I nearly would not have gotten my initial invitation either due to some mix-up or incompetence or both on the part of FEDEX. At this stage we can only keep our fingers crossed and wait. IT'S WELL!!! |
Wot a family we have here. How I wish it will still continue even after the "transition"after which some of us would av joined NLNG. @Okpoks I am also an NLNG hopeful. I also feel a tad bit "undeserving" of the job since I already have a job in the oil and gas industry. Sometimes it's hard to draw the line between greed and strive for excellence. But then, I get the kicks out of availing myself of every opportunity that comes my way. I would feel much worse to have to live with the feeling that phaps I would av made it with NLNG if I had made a shot at it and yet I didn't try than that I tried and didn't make it. My resolve is this. If I make it with NLNG, fine: and if not fine still since I can then focus on my present job.t's all about joy and fulfillment. I can then say to myself that I did my best and can leave the rest for God. To all NLNG hopefuls In a couple of weeks or less this wait will be over and we can start congratulating some of us and "ëncouraging" others. Whicheva side of the divide we find ourselves in, let's always keep God in mind and in woteva we do, let's always do it "as unto God and not unto men." All in all, spiritual prosperity counts more (much more!) than material riches. Like I said earlier, it's all about joy and fulfilment. IT"S WELL!!! |
I must confess that av bn following this thread for a long time now but had a problem deciding when to get in. Also wasn't too sure about the relevance or benefit of my contribution(s). Besides I also shared Opoks' view of the need for a more realistic expectation but probably decided, rightly or wrongly, to steer clear of controversy so as not to be seen as the devil's advocate. I guess it's safe to come in now the dust is settled. But I must confess that while the saga lasted, and even more so now that it's over, I cultivated increased respect for the duo of Opoks for telling us wot we needed to hear and not just wot we wanted to hear which was quite refreshing, and Kuwena for the fatherly role he played at sueing for peace. Indeed kuwena, u r the godfather as far as this thread is concerned. Okpoks I love ur style! I really do! ![]() And to all NLNG hopefuls, Adrian and all, I wish us all the best, God bless us all Whether to be or not to be, IT'S WELL |
i think the title should av bn "STALE jokes." not "silly jokes'' |
