Iwobi has this habit of starting games slowly and gassing out quickly. against a rugged Cameroon team, I fear what would happen...
To me it's in d midfield department rohr really messed up, jst look at how thin our midfield is...wat if sometin happens to iwobi or ndidi, who replaces dem
They r not messi or ronaldo, BT look at how d midfield collapsed in dere absence during d Madagascar game especially in d first half.
Rohr or whoever takes charge of d super eagles need to really work on DAT department, if we can't get players playing abroad, den we should look at d homebased.. Late keshi took Sunday mba, and it won us d afcon

bro...Rohr is just the problem of that team..
I wish one of us here can take over his job just for this afcon.

Egypt can't beat us if we really play to our potentials but Rohr is just the problem.

I expect him to be sacked later next week after loosing to Egypt.
Hmm everyone is mentioning Egypt as if southafrica is a pushover, d Egyptians to me HV not been spectacular on this tournament, d only tin going for dem is DAT massive crowd beind dem...I won't b supriaed if we witness an upset on Saturday
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by phamarsenal: 5:58pm On Jul 04, 2019
I had to watch d highlight BTW super eagles and Cameroon, where we defeated dem 4nil, wit virtually almost d same squad DAT we HV nw apart from some few changes here and dere...BT d most notable difference BTW d present squad and d other one is d absence of a certain victor moses, his trickery and pace on d wings and surprisingly his unselfishness was a thorn in d flesh of d indomitable lions. I don't wanna say we miss him, even though he would HV been a good addition to d squad BT I believe DAT we HV similar players DAT can do damage to d Cameroonians even though dey r quite young. He has to start either chukwueze or onyrkuru on Saturday because dey can stretch DAT defence and open up opportunities for others to score. BT if he decides to play safe like he always does, den am afraid we should jst start to book our flight tickets back home because dere is no way we would win if dat match goes to penalties, not with DAT Cameroon goalkeeper

Afcon team of the group stage. No Nigerian
I don't tink we deserve a place in d starting eleven, not even on d bench.it also goes to show you how poorly we HV played in this tournament. I jat hope d boys turn up during d knock out stage

It is too early to say d super eagles have arrived, but the boys are gradually getting dere...I have to commend rohr cos the depth of dis team is amazing, for him to bench d likes of mikel, ekong and even losing d likes of Collins and shehu to sickness and injury yet dere absence was not felt.
As for the guinea match, ndidi was sometinelse and is combination with etebo is very strong and complement each other well.iwobi did very well today, BT should reduced d way he loses d ball and misplaces passes..
On a general note it was a disciplined from d eagles, am really impressed with d workrate of d boys, gone are those days wen u HV players jst strolling around d pitch all Ind name of dey are big players.wish dem all d best as dey move on to d knockout stage

I personally like d lineup...at least in Moses simon we have a winger that can track back and help d fullbacks, even musa too does d same...if iwobi really wants to stake a claim for the no10 spot there is no better tym Dan nw, he has to deliver today..wish d boys all d best in today's encounter

Maybe you have been following them to know their capabilities. Care to shed more light on them?
Those guys r very solid defensively..we saw it here in asaba wen we played dem in a friendly
Intact wen I saw dey had scored Dr Congo first, I knee it was game over...let's see wat dey can offer against d Egyptians before we conclude tho

Mickael2:
The passes weren't awful but just say that the defenders anticipated the passes. It was more of the defender did well, than Musa did not pass well. I do not see the basis behind starting Chuks, if we want to point out errors, there was on instance where Iwobi was right in front of Chuks and he kicked the ball out for a throw trying to locate Aina who was miles away when a simple pass made more sense, there was also a counter where he skinned the first guy then instead of simply squaring for Onuachu he tried a banana pass which the defence was all so glad to cut out. Full of tricks yes, but atrocious decision making, I don't see why he will start ahead of Musa if you ask me, he has his own decision making flaws, but IMHO, he is an upgrade on Chuks. See how Musa's direct running won us a corner as well, I can go on.

Anyways. I don't know why it seems like I watched a different match that wasn't exactly fulfilling. The Burundians created at least 5 3 on 2 situations against our CB, they created well over 4 clear cut chances and if not for a combo of poor passes, poor finishing and a rare GK save, we would have been talking about 3 goals conceded, factually the Burundians bypassed our midfield like it did not even exist, there was a particular 3 on 2 situation where one of the Burundians was unable to give a 2 yard pass to his teammate who would have been one on one. Or should I mention the chance where they skinned Ekong and had a clean run at goal but the guy messed up? Arguably, from an attacking sense this might have been an okayish game, but the midfield and defence were atrocious, that too against Burundi, the worst team in the tournament (statistically). I really am glad that Rohr has come out to acknowledge that the team was poor at least they will work on it. Ndidi and Etebo forget their jobs of shielding the defence multiple times in the game which is why I agree that one of them ought to be axed for Mikel to sit deep entirely, however I would suggest Ndidi is dropped because Etebo is a better shuttle that can move the ball higher up the pitch.

All in all I think the only place we had real issues was with the two DMFs not doing their job, I don't think we would have defeated a better team at all.
Spot on with ur analysis bro...ndidi sometimes forgot he is a DmF and his primary objective was to shield d backs four, there were occasions where he was at d final third and we left us vulnerable to counter attacks...against a better team DAT would HV cost us
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by phamarsenal: 8:37pm On Jun 22, 2019
Rohr has som strong decisions to make in d middle of park, on wether to play iwobi as a no10, and revert Mikel to a CM and bench etebo who is full of running and adds steel to d middle
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by phamarsenal: 8:25pm On Jun 22, 2019
To be honest...I tink we tried, d improvement in d team is glaring for us all to see, and let's not forget dis is a very young team DAT rohr has put together and Nigerian teams generally are slow starters, i believe dey would grow in confidence as d tournament progresses.d issue I see here is d goal keeping department, akpeyi did not inspire any form of confidence at all, always looking jittery...I won't b surprised to see him benched in d next match, all in all it was a good victory for d boys.

Does this mean the SF will be playing 4-4-2 with Ordega and Ihezuo on either wing or is it a 4-3-3 with Ordega playing in midfield?

I don't tink iwobi will b stupid enough to try to take on African full backs wit pace...rather u will see him drifting inside looking for space in d middle, thereby rendering DAT wing completely ineffective

I don't feel comfortable with the line up I am seeing today for both the Super Falcons and Super Eagles.
Iwobi on the wings will be an absolute disaster for the team, I would rather Rohr plays Simon!
D lineup for d eagles jst tire me...we can't get d best out of iwobi by playing him on d wings, if rohr can't play him in his preferred position he shld simply put him on d bench

The Germans have not been spectacular in these tournament BT still we HV to b flawless and cut out mistakes at d back in order for us to win, because any mistake at d bk dey would surely capitalize jst like wat dey did to d south Africans..most of d goals were from set pieces and headers, if we can be resolute at d back jst like we did against France and take out chances wen dey com coupled wit a little luck, our fairytale run might jst continue...

OK sir. Right now these four teams are contending for two spots
Nigeria P3 3pts -2Gd
Cameroun p2 0pts -3gd
New Zealand p2 0pts -3gd
Chile p2 0pts -5gd
By P I mean number of games played. Cameroon and new Zealand battle it out amongst themselves, a 1nil victory margin should be enough for either ( I am praying for a draw between them). Now Chile faces the record breakers in basketology Thailand needing a 3nil victory over Thailand who have conceded 18 goals in 2 games. So that is where we are sir.
We r not clear yet at all...DAT Thailand team concedes a lot and our -2gd is not helping matters at all
