Reflecting back on the thread below , seeing how people attacked me for no sensible reason for asking what next after the LG poll in Rivers state mean we are not ready to grow as a nation if we can't discuss the issues affecting us sincerely without being emotional.

If I chose not to get involved with Edo guber election, what should be my business with ordinary LG poll in Rivers state.

There are states who have conducted their own LG election without any issue, some states are also conducting today like Akwa Ibom without any noise, why is Rivers state always in bad news whenever there is election in the state?

For a man who was working in mile 3 motor park with Late Azubuike Nmerekini prior to 1999 and after the advent of democracy in 1999 was always going to Senator Azuta Mbata's house to wash his cars as a way of seeking political favour from him.

One fact you guys don't know. Even in 1999, Wike was not the candidate of PDP. It was Late Rogers Ichenwo who won the Obio/Akpor PDP chairmanship ticket. His name was substituted for that of Rogers Ichenwo through the help of Senator Azuta Mbata. Late Rogers Ichenwo having been aggrieved over his unlawful substitution sought relief in the court and unfortunately the court ruled in favour of Wike. That is how Wike became the flag bearer of PDP and eventually becoming the chairman of Obio/Akpor.

After his first term as chairman, his name was to be removed for second term. It took the intervention of Mary Odili through her husband for him to be allowed to seek re-election. That incident is why he still has grouse with Secondus till date. Notwithstanding that Secondus supported him to be governor twice.

After k-leg came in in Amaechi candidacy as the PDP guber candidate, Wike aligned with the former. And when Amaechi became victorious made him Chief of Staff for 3years+ and later the DG of his re-election campaign.

Amaechi will later win his re-election and so did Jonathan. When it was time to nominate Ministers. Amaechi nominated Tonye Cole and Ama Pepple. Tonye Cole was to be given the portfolio of Minister for Works. Wike started blackmailing Amaechi and sent emissaries to him on the need why he should be nominated as a minister. Amaechi obliged by withdrawing the name of Tonye Cole in place of Wike.

Then the same man Amaechi nominated as Minister was still hell bent on pulling strings in Amaechi's government. He was opposed to Amaechi appointing Tony Okocha as his chief of Staff. And he later capitalized on the division Amaechi had with Jonathan in furthering his quest to become governor.

Evans Bipi played a critical role in convincing Mrs. Jonathan to support Wike. Secondly, the odds where against Wike given that Amaechi whose nature was about to elapse hail from Ikwerre in Rivers East senatorial district as that of Wike. Mrs. Patience had to calm frayed nerves and appealed to some Ijaw Political leaders to allow Wike become governor. Mind you, Rivers state has always had upland-Riverine political dichotomy. Which is what informed Amaechi to pick Dakuku Peterside to fly the flag of APC while that of PDP fielded Wike.

Wike cannot claim that he hasn't gotten help in his meteoric rise in politics from people. People fought to ensure he was made a governor.
