Politics › Re: Finally; Dakuku Vs Wike! by phantom(m): 4:26pm On Dec 08, 2014
siddonlookmode na im I dey.

wike vs dakukuhuh when wike vs the other PDP aspirants has not been settled??

odein ajumogobia is already in court. PDP will explain to us why Wike was not disqualified when the principle of power rotation is deeply enshrined in their constitution.

contrary to what many people here think, the PDP in rivers (and indeed in many other states)is imploding(because the Oga at the top,GEJ cannot control his party). this is basically GDI vs APC . there is no PDP!

the APC appear to have their house in order and are more politically calculating.
I don't know how the rest of you see it but magnus Abe would have been a big mistake.

choosing dakuku was a master stroke and has shown amaechi to be a master strategist.

forget all the noise from wikes camp and the just ended charade called PDP primaries.
already, different coalitions and groups are on air announcing that rivers people should forget the just concluded primaries arranged and sponsored by wike.

my question is this.....does wike have the balls to face the consequences of his actions at the appointed time?
wiil he be in PH,come February 2015?
rivers people are wiser! wike is a sad reminder of the odili years and many rivers people have sworn not to go back.

ordinarily i didnt want to contribute to this thread but i happen to be in Jos plateau state now and i can tell you that the state, especially the business area can be classified as a ghost town, all roads now leads to crest hotel, venue of the igbo day celebratn.from Ahnadu bello-way,to farin Gada, massalacin Jumai to old Bukuru park, from Rukuba satellite market to fadama market, everywhere seems deserted.
When i glanced at ur moniker and realized that you are Yoruba,i shaked my head and said to the guy by my side 'Yorubas and their usual struggle to compete with Igbos',he smiled and asked the bar man to bring more bottles of 'hero' beer and he exclaimed,'who God has blessed,no man can fight'...God bless Nigeria!

I don't know about you but saying Nigerians don't pay reasonable tax, is either you have a low paying job or you don't do business in Nigeria.
Ask the guys who import cars from the US how much they clear a car bought barely $3,000 from the US, what do you think duty is?
I agree with you that people will be less tolerant when they pay higher taxes, but the biggest weapon of corruption "HUNGER" has been flogging Nigerians since 1960, what have they done?
A job that hunger could not do, how do you think increased taxation will fare? bros, they will go home in penury give the change to their pastors and sleep, Nigerians are less humans.
bullseye!!!

Truckpusher:
On point my friend.

The funny part is that whenever folks speak against their constant noise making and name calling they easily resort to more verbal insult to shut people up.

APC is a party of disgruntled PDP members that were so corrupt that their agenda in the PDP could no longer be tolerated, hence the cross carpeting.
your second paragraph is a huge joke!

@OP.... if they are the same thing, why then do you and your fellow PDP guys still argue and vote along party lines?
both the APC & PDP are made up of crooks. why then do y'all want to kill yourselves for them on naira land?

We are saying the same thing...tax regime. My point is, the more the population, the higher the chances of a taxable population. The child will not remain a child forever, one day he will become taxable.
exactly @ the bolded....... thats why i still cant believe posters who cant make a connection between increased population and increased IGR.

the truth is that even in sane societies, taxes make up a good percentage of revenue.taxes are not a bad thing provided the government taxes REASONABLY.

Gbawe:
My bro, I respectfully urge you to stay out of my tete-a-tete with some posters here. You cannot know Niaraland from one thread or even from being on this forum for a year. There is no one I insult here who does not deserve it by virtue of the fact that they insulted me without provocation, at one stage or the other, while I tried to discuss productively. I used to ignore them for a long time till I realised some of them take the graciousness of others for weakness. The fool Tomakint, for example, ran around NL hurling insult at any poster who criticised GEJ. His favourite was to call every critic of GEJ old as if he is himself a teenager.

Imagine my shock when the picture-expose phase on Nairaland showed him up to be an old, ugly and scruffy hobo !!! Why should I then not pay the lying hypocrite back in his own coin when it is cretins like him destroying this forum simply because they cannot stand factual criticism of their failed messiah? As for the others, they are prejudiced and ethnocentric clowns well-known on this forum for their sectional myopia against other ethnic groups especially Yorubas, Hausas and Fulanis . I cannot stand those sort and I have no interest in being polite to them same as a black man has no kind words for a racist or white supremacist. I am a highly refined and well-mannered person and as such will never insult you and other productively polite posters but I make no apologies for insulting vile posters and uncouth agberos who feel they have a monopoly of hurling vitriol at others
gbawe....you are changing. yes you used to be polite and now,you answer posters here tit for tat. have you changed for the better or for worsehuh i am calling you out because reading your posts in which you respond tit for tat leaves a bitter taste in my mouth.honestly!
they are in the gutter and call you to join them and you take a dive in,suit and all. abeg calm down.

we have seen crazy posters come and go on nairaland. you are still one of the few reasonable posters on this forum.please remain like that. rise above petty and childish things no matter how offended you are.
we know sensible posters on nairaland REGARDLESS OF TRIBE and we also know stupid posters REGARDLESS OF TRIBE.

I find the Janjaweedian Apeeshit apologists to be unusually bereft of simple common sense ( I am not even talking about complicated things like Economics here). Are they pretending to be daft or do they think that the electorate is daft? Now, I would have thought that after the shellacking in Ekiti and narrow escape in Osun, our friends will have realized the futility of their tactics.

I am utterly gob smacked that anyone will think that taxing the populace more ruthlessly (while giving your party chief a huge cut of the said tax) is the ultimate measure of good governance. What happened to measures like school enrolment, performance in standardized tests, access to clean water and sewage facilities, affordable housing, primary health facilities amongst others? It's not how much you can steal from the impoverished masses as IGR that should count but what you actually achieve with the funds.

Put simply, the government doesn't create any money or wealth by taxing me more. It is therefore very interesting that Lagos and other Apeeshit states are also the most indebted in the country. Talk about the classic "tax and spend" socialists. It's even more ironic that states like Anambra under Peter "Nkume" Obi, despite having lower IGR were able to save more and even lend to some of our "high performing" Apeeshit "wunderkinds".
lets face facts,no new policies aimed at raising revenue would be AS RAPID as raising taxes in an emergency situation like this.

lets not throw away the baby with the bath water.
raising taxes is not necessarily a bad thing but raising taxes and looting those taxes is where the problem is.

As long as i have the time, he and his ilks will surely have me to contend with.

err....sorry o! you seem to be so sure of gbawes age. if you are sure he is far older than many of us here, then i dont think its proper to insult him the way you do ...honestly! you can actually argue RESPECTFULLY with him. you can disagree with him without insults even when he does to you.

@gbawe....tone down the insults.some opinions are down right offensive and annoying but it wont cost you nothing to overlook them.

Why not shut up for a while and use your commonsense. What's the population of lagos? What's the population kano? Where do hear IGR pf a place is a reflection of the size of its population? Why do you people just come online and talk with reasoning upside down?

Is it the igbo man selling okrika in oshodi, the tokunbo spare part seller in ladipo or the one running after traffic selling gala that makes up the value of the IGR in lagos. Do those ones even pay tax at all? You people should stop being infantile in your reasoning and then start crying like lost sheeps without sherperds.

Lagos and its leadership by APC has eggheads not seen anywhere else in this country . Fact.......

Kano, abia, anambra, kaduna and oyo are equal to the task only if their governors can aptly strategize. Those state are full of potentials.
I agree! I don't see Abia, anambara, kano and Oyo earning less than rivers state if their governors sit up.

the dude in Abia pisses me off any time I remember him.
look at what bad governance has done to aba.

if only orji had built a power plant for just ariaria market and made sure the roads to,fro and within just the market are motorable, I won't fault him.
that market alone can feed Abia,IMO and even Enugu.
