Politics / 2023: Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youths Seek Alliance With North To Produce Igbo President by Phantomine(m): 2:27pm On Aug 11, 2019
Youths of the Igbo social-cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide, have called for alliance of the Eastern Region with the North to ensure the emergence of Igbo President come 2023.

In a statement signed by its President General, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, on Saturday, Ohaneze said the proposed alliance will produce one of the present Southeast governors and one present Northern governor as a running mate, or a former Vice President or former governor or senator, depending on the choice of the North.

The group said it was working towards ensuring a past Governor from the South-East emerges as the next President.

Speaking on its plans for the next presidential election, the Ohanaeze youth said it was taking the lead in building bridges across the six geo-political zones.

It said: “Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide has taken the lead in building bridges across the six geo-political zones, through aggressive persuasion on some aggrieved northern groups and leaders, who felt marginalised in the President Buhari regime or schemed out of relevance and importantly have viewed Southwest alliance with the North as a farce.

“We have concluded arrangement to play hosts first class traditional rulers, opinion leaders, prominent northern groups and Arewa youth leaders to re-align and build confidence ahead of 2023 Presidential election without any political affiliations or party.

“North has been the traditional partner in progress since 1960s with the old Eastern Region, until there was suspicion brewing between the years created by artificial barriers which this move and series of consultations will automatically restore.

“Hopefully will restore the North and Old Eastern Region alliances, then the insecurity in some quarters will be flush into the dustbin of history.

“Old Eastern Region alliance with the North through proper understanding and cooperation, will produce one of the present Southeast Governors and one present Northern Governor, or former Vice President or former Governor or Senator, depending the choice of the North, will pair ahead of 2023.

“We are extending hands of friendship with the Coalition of Northern Groups and Arewa Youth leaders, to build a united front and alliance that will hold the two regions together as partnership, as we had in 1960s.

“History will always repeat itself, as traditional partners in progress, a Nigeria President of Igbo stock will largely favour the North with huge dividends of democracy.”

Politics / Re: We're Well Prepared To Defend Ourselves– Herdsmen Vow Not To Relocate From South by Phantomine(m): 2:32pm On Jul 20, 2019
“We are Nigerians and we are not going anywhere. Our attachment to the land is opportunistic; we don’t farm the land. So, if anybody is thinking that because he has cultivated the land in a particular place for long and he has rights there more than us, then we would ask where is the grazing area that the colonial masters created for us?"

The above comment is not any different to what the IPOB youths were saying about Lagos being a no man's land and not a Yoruba territory.

Politics / Atiku's INEC Server, Scam Of The Century (PM News) by Phantomine(m): 12:54pm On Jul 20, 2019
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and his Peoples Democratic Party had eggs on their faces Friday as the theory of an INEC server, the pillar of their cases against President Muhammadu Buhari collapsed like a house built with sand.

There was no INEC server. There was no result published on INEC server. Atiku had been scammed big time and it will go into the records as the scam of the century.

That was the loud and clear message at the Presidential Election Tribunal as Atiku closed his case and the court adjourned till 29 July for the defence to open its case.

There is certainly no need for the defence to open any case. There is nothing to defend as Atiku and the PDP had failed convincingly to prove the existence of any other result apart from the one declared by INEC on 27 February, with Buhari beating Atiku by about four million votes. Buhari got 15.1 million votes, Atiku got 11.2million votes.

According to Atiku, the INEC server gave him victory over Buhari, winning 18,356,732 votes to defeat Buhari who he claimed scored 16,741,430 votes.

With the anti-climax of Friday, Atiku’s case, all the past weeks had become a riveting theatre of the absurd and entertainment. He and his team of legal luminaries and witnesses had wasted everyone’s time, pushing a specious thesis that does not exist. A server, now where is the server?

On the last day of providing irrefutable proof that he won the presidential election and beat President Muhammadu Buhari, Atiku’s two ‘star witnesses’ were a study in high comedy.

Both the uncertified ‘expert’ from Kenya, David Ayu Nyango Njoga and former aviation minister Osita Chidoka miserably failed to establish the existence of the server allegedly used by the Independent National Electoral Commission for the transmission of election results during the last general elections.

Incredibly the two star witnesses, who claimed they had information that INEC used a server, got their information from anonymous sources, possibly in a beer parlour or the dark web of whistleblowing.

Both witnesses stammered when challenged to authenticate their claims.

Chidoka ought to have known better. He was a witness to the manual collation of the presidential election result at the International Conference Centre in Abuja after the election on 23 February. How did he come about the INEC server theory?

He confirmed to the Presidential Election Tribunal that the results were collated nationwide manually, and still added idiotically that he learnt the result of the election was “transmitted by INEC electronically to the INEC server.”

He collapsed under cross-examination by lawyer to INEC, Yunus Usman (SAN). When asked if he witnessed the transmission, Chidoka said he was not present when the alleged electronic transmission was done.

On whether he has ever seen the said server or knows its location, the witness said: “I have not seen the server, but before the election and during collation, the INEC Chairman talked about the existence of server.”

When asked to provide the server address, Chidoka said the one he referred to was the same address provided by the anonymous whistleblower.

Chidoka said he witnessed the manual collation of election results at the national level and was told by his party’s agents that collation was also manual at the state, ward and polling unit levels.

Under cross-examination by lawyer to President Muhammadu Buhari, Dr. Alex Izinyon (SAN), Chidoka admitted that he did not witness all he claimed happened during the election.

Njoga, who claimed to be an Information Technology (ICT) expert from Kenya, said he was engaged by the petitioners to analyse results of the election as obtained from INEC server and stored in a website:“https://www.factsdontlieng.com/.

When asked whether INEC owns the website, the witness said no, but that the data it contains are from INEC server.

Njoga, claimed that the website: “https://www.factsdontlieng.com/” is owned by an INEC official, who provided the election result figures. When asked to name the said INEC official, the witness said: “My lord, the INEC official is anonymous and I do not know him.”

Under cross-examination by the leader of Buhari’s legal team, Chief Wole Olanipekun (SAN), Njoka said the website was created on March 12, 2019. When reminded that the presidential election held on February 23 and the results released before March 12, the witness went blank.

The resounding collapse of Atiku’s INEC server may have knocked the bottom out of his case at the tribunal.

His other redeeming planks remain whether he has proven substantially election irregularities in the states.

It remains to be seen from 29 July, whether this is also not another illusion.

Politics / Nnamdi Kanu: The Beggining And The End Game Fueled By Hate And Pride - U.n Sta by Phantomine(m): 12:57pm On Sep 17, 2017
KELECHI MBAMNOZIE is an Igbo who works with the UNITED NATIONS (U.N). Kindly read his submission below on NNAMDI KANU:

Nnamdi Kanu, the acclaimed leader of IPOB was not supposed to be in any hiding, never!

The fact that he is not operating openly now tells you all something, he is on the wrong side of this agitation again.

The struggle for self-determination even if possible, transcends beyond an individual. Kanu was advised to rally around the traditional and political leaders of the South. As an Igbo man, I was thought honor, respect, love, self-giving, and honesty by my parents and the community where I grew up. You cannot bring a fight inside the house, if you do, such a person is considered a fool.

When Kanu was released, he enjoyed the encomiums of the majority of Nigerians who saw the Federal Government's lawless detention as evil and unconstitutional because he never committed any crime to be locked up for 2 yrs.

Kanu was hosted by Senators and Governors, his father's house became a Mecca of a sort and he began to enjoy the people's patronage. Not until the butterfly started thinking himself a bird, the self-aggrandizement overwhelmed him so much that he declared: "there would not be any election in Anambra" and his reasons? Because Kanu said so! By so doing, he brought the battle into his home. He started receiving Genuflection as a tiny god he approved himself of, and even Senator Abaribe who was among the people that signed his bail surety couldn't speak reason into his skull. He spoke to him, Eastern Governors and some traditional rulers spoke to him, he was too pompous to apply wisdom, humility and honor, but he wants others to accord him the same.

Now, all those people who would have stood behind him are now doubtful of his intentions, so they stayed clear of him. Now, that they have started chasing him, where will he run into? "Lack of wisdom"!

Now, this is his SIN: The moment he commissioned the local army on record, posted it out on social media and spoke openly at a rally about the need to have the Biafra Secret Force, he fell from grace.

He not only entered into the nest orchestrated by the Nigeria State by declaring the Biafra Secret Service, he also ignited the article in the Constitution of Nigeria that prohibits anyone from organizing an army against the sovereignty.

Whether you like it or not, Nigeria is a sovereignty; Biafra is not and was never so. It is not even a conquered territory.

We reached out to Kanu, advised him to be cautious and apply wisdom, he never listened, he cursed everyone who disagreed with him, we are all "Efulefu". Nnamdi Kanu cut off his communication channel with those who would have helped.

Instead of calling for the boycott of Anambra Election, even when you are not from Anambra, you could have channeled that energy to become a political force in the East, compel your followers to come out en masse and vote in the election and ensure that they elect a credible non-corrupt Governor and House Assemblies. Knowing that every power and politics is local, you would have scored a gigantic political WIN right there and the Federal Government will start taking you seriously.

You then have to ensure that the same thing in Anambra is replicated it in all the South Eastern and the South Southern States, unseat all these criminal Senators, House members, Governors and let us have our own devoted people represent us for once. But, NO! Nnamdi Kanu was so arrogant.

Nnamdi Kanu was so arrogant that he forgot his culture. Anambra of all places, the home of Azikiwe, where we have the timbers and calibers of the East, they saw his afront as an insult, just there alone, Kanu diminished his patronage among Eastern Elders who would have been his backbone. Remember that elders stays at watch as they send the young to battle.

In the course of my career at the United Nations, I have seen deaths, people who died in the face of war and the earth refused to bury them, their carcas decaying that even vultures were so full that they could not feed anymore. I have seen men, real men, rebels in the face of war, their skulls shattered, their bones and legs ripped off, some bled to their death, but among all, there is nothing like the sight of an amputated spirit. No, there is no prosthetic for that.

Every single information coming out of Nnamdi Kanu's house was fake news and propaganda. News that the UN did this or that, was all LIES. We are here at the UN Headquarters and never a time has any issue about Biafra been brought to bear in any open sessions, General Assembly, Security Council Consultations, never. But our gullible hardworking brothers whom he met at home never wanted to listen, they believed his lies.

The agitation must be seen as non-violent as possible. The flagrant disregard of any advice was appalling. In the scheme of things, you need strategists, advisers, foreign policy analysts, intel ops and lots of professionals to sit down and drive a master plan. Kanu assumed all these responsibilities and was very bad at them. So far, you can see that he is not a strategist, knows very little about building coalitions within and outside Nigeria, I mean coalitions of friendly countries who can reason with the caus. On many occasions, he switched off his phone because he is a stubborn overlord, look at the carnage he has caused and where is he now? in hiding.

There wouldn't have been any need to hide in first instance. He should have been entering the Villa and House of Assembly, lobbying and strategizing, that's how wise men WIN. Remember, "She stopped to Conquer".

The facebook warriors who are good at calling people names on facebook and cannot have dialogue and reason together, over to you, let your name calling continue, how many people are dead now because of Kanu's irresponsible stubbornness? And among all those deaths, none of his family members are involved.

Now, the government of Nigeria has categorized IPOB as a terrorist organization, that's what you get when you start to organize an army. It's going to be tougher for Easterners who are travelers. My advice if you wish to travel outside Nigeria; clean up your social media platforms, as you could be turned back at any point of entry because of what the Federal Government just did.

Final words, all of you that are noise makers on social media, have you ever thought of something very covertly possible? That Nnamdi Kanu may have been paid off to quash the Biafra struggle once and for all? That all these charades were staged? Hahahahahaaa! Why did he object against any good advice to go about this struggle perfectly and legitimately? He came back from the UK, was arrested by the Nigerian government that is more or like subservient to the British Lords. Ndi Igbo! Wake up before the water reaches your necks.

If we fail to apply wisdom in settling our impasse, we will all perish as fools. I am not going to perish because I see things differently.

I don't wish anyone death, can we now wear our thinking cap?? Now?? I mean Now! Igbo na ekwu si "ijiji nti ike, na eso ozu ala nmuo", onye nwere nti, ya nuru".

Lol! Apparently this news of El-Rufai and Chibok girls scandal is a fake news propaganda that has failed already.

The woman herself just issued a press release abt an hour ago denying granting any interview where she had implicated El-Rufai in any Chibok Girl's scandal.

She has even gone on twitter and openly attacked FFK with very strong verbal attacks, calling him an irresponsible ex-minister and he dared him to present an evidence where she made the El-Rufai and Chibok girls' claim. Few minutes ago, FFK has suddenly deleted all his tweets on the matter.

I've bn wondering why no one seems to raise questions why a news report of abt 5 paragraphs does not even have one single quote from the woman directly.

I refuse to carry the story on my blog because my instinct as a trained journalist tells me this is likely to be an unprofessional report.

Right now, most of the blogs that carried the report are quickly deleting it. Even on my friend's blog, it's bn deleted.

Politics / An Open Letter To Mazi Nnamdi Kanu by Phantomine(m): 9:34pm On Jul 04, 2017
By Modesty Vitus M Ezenwa

Listen brother KANU, I understand the frustration. I wish things can work that way, the Nnamdi Kanu way. But everything that happens in the world has a precedent and there is something called international law. That's where the elites and intelligentsia are important for the struggle.

John Garange was an elite of the South Sudan, he was instrumental to the peace talk that led to independence of South Sudan. After he died in a plane crash, Silva Kiir, his lieutenant, who was also another elite took over and led the country to Independence.

Our people (the Ndigbos) should be very careful, so that they do not shoot themselves in the foot. Things do not happen by emotions. The international law does not recognize emotions.

First and foremost, Nigeria is an independent sovereign state, a member state of the UN, AU, Commonwealth of Nations and Ecowas. She has diplomatic relations with over 100 countries in the world. Her sovereignty is respected and protected under the UN law, it means that until she decides by herself to partitioned herself, no country in the world will recognize any part of Nigeria that forced itself out of Nigeria.

A country is a country when it is recognized by other countries as a sovereign state, recognized by the UN and member states.

I will quickly give you an example of what will happen when the elite of Igboland do not engage the Nigerian state in discussions about self determination. By the way, take note Mazi, that the 1999 constitution does not have any provisions for self determination of any part of the federation like the US or U.K Constitution, neither does it have provisions for a debate or discussion to happen about letting a part to go. The constitution which is the supreme law of the land must be amended or changed by the same Nigerian senate which you so currently despise before their can be any such discussion.

Now, this is what will happen if you fail to act within the international law framework. You will become like entities such as Northern Cyprus which broke away from the south in 1974 with the support of Turkish Army; which after 42 years, no country in the world other than Turkey recognized.

The north Cyprus does not do business with any country in the world, they do not have international passport, they are not recognized by any country in the world, their citizens are given Turkish citizenship so that they can travel out. Their money is not recognized by world bank and they cannot trade with the outside world. But they have been existing on their own for 42 years now. Currently, they have started agitating for reunification with the South, the same Southern Cyprus they despised and pulled out from, which is now called Greek Cyprus.

There is a another precedent to look at, Mazi - Somaliland was colonized by Britain, while Somalia was colonized by Italy. After independence, Somaliland willingly join their Somali brothers to become the republic of Somalia. When civil war broke out in Somalia about 25 years ago, Somaliland which was very peaceful and functioning, withdrew from the Somalia republic.

25 years after, even though Somalia is a failed state and Somaliland has been having peaceful democratic elections and functioning like a state, no country in the would recognized Somaliland as a country. Her citizens are still called Somalis, and can only travel outside with Republic of Somalia passport.

Somaliland is living on international aid because it cannot do business with any country in the world. Their money cannot exchange for international currencies because it's not recognized by world bank and IMF. This is a precedent in our own Africa.

The two breakaway regions of Georgia known as South Ossetia and Abkhazia are recognized only by Russia more than 10 years after they broke away from Republic of Georgia with Russian support. Till this day only Russia recognized them as a sovereign entity. No one does business with them. In order for them to travel out, they took Russian citizenship and obtain Russian passports. But by international law they are still Georgians.

The Ukrainian conflict is still on till this day. The East broke out of the Ukraine with the help of Russia military. The war is still on. Even though for 3 years the Ukrainian government is not in control of those regions. No country in the world recognized those regions as independent or sovereign states. They are still using Ukrainian currency, Ukrainian passport and the territory is still know as Ukraine.

These are precedents. Don't tell me our own will be different, how Mazi? If we push this thing as idiots and unintelligent people, Nigeria will make us suffer like never before.

They will stop salaries and pensions coming to East Nigeria like Ukraine did to their East. They will put economic blockade on the East that you can't even ship your produces out nor bring importation in. They can make the life of the Eastern region living hell.

It takes a man who think with his head rather than his heart to know all these. It takes a person who employ reasoning rather than emotions to look for precedents. I still maintain that for things to run it course in accordance with international law, only the elites and the intelligentsia can move it forward and engage Nigeria in meaningful discussion.

If Biafra will ever become an acceptable republic in the world and enjoy all the privileges as a sovereign nation, only Nigeria will grant her independence from the federation like the Ethiopia did to Eritrea, like Sudan did to South Sudan , like Serbia did to Montenegro.

Sports / Siasia’s Olympic Dream – An Embarrassment Of Riches (2) by Phantomine(m): 11:45am On Dec 19, 2015
In this second of a four-part series, Papertalk’s Guest Writer, football analyst Chiedu Onukogu looks at the abundance of talent Coach Samson Siasia has at his disposal in his pursuit of the Olympic soccer gold in Rio next year. In this instalment, Chiedu takes a look at the right backs, left backs and centre backs.

Siasia’s Olympic Dream - An Embarrassment of Riches

Part 2
By Chiedu Onukogu

THE RIGHT BACKS

1. Nura Abdullahi - The Roma youth prodigy will likely be among those considered to solve what has been a problematic position for coach Samson Siasia. Whether he is ready to graduate from competing for Primavera league honours (where he is an absolute stud!) to competing for an Olympic gold medal is the question.

2. Godswill Ekpolo - Was one of the foreign based players called up for the African Cup and was obviously never going to make it, but it is a clue that he is firmly in Siasia's plans for the summer. Playing well and seeing consistent minutes at Barcelona B. Versatile enough to play in central defence or midfield.

3. Musa Mohammed - Assuming that Siaone carries 3 players at this position on his provisional squad, the final slot likely will be between the quartet of Musa Mohammed, Moses Odubajo, Sincere Seth and Ndifreke Effiong. Last time he was in the U23 camp, Musa Mohammed left in a manner that likely didn't endear him to Siasia, but he still has a chance to be considered - particularly if he breaks into the first team at Turkish side Buyuksehir (which could happen in the 2nd half of the season).

Others: If not Musa, the other player to keep an eye on is Hull City's Moses Odubajo, but a decision on whether or not he will turn out for Nigeria is yet to be ascertained. Then there is Sincere Seth, who has been ever present in the squad from the beginning. Seth may well get the nod, with Siasia known to be the type of coach who shows loyalty to players who busted their butt for him, as mentioned earlier. However, despite many opportunities he has failed to take the bull by the horns which leaves the door open for others. As for Ndifreke Effiong, the right footed player has sadly been miscast as a Left Back due to a shortage of options in the team, but in his one opportunity to play Right Back at the All Africa Games he did the business. Add to that his versatility in being able to provide cover at multiple positions (he plays in defence, midfield and attack at Abia Warriors) and it would be no surprise to me to see him getting a chance to fight for a jersey to Rio.

One player that I haven't mentioned here is Wolverhampton's Dominic Iorfa, but the ship has likely sailed on his playing for Nigeria (at age grade level - at least).

THE LEFT BACKS

4. Kingsley Madu - Surprisingly dropped by Oliseh as he rebuilds the national team, Madu is surely among the first names to be called on by Siasia as he prepares for Rio. Continues to look like a top prospect at AS Trencin and will want to use the Olympic games to prove that he belongs in the Super Eagles.

5. Stanley Amuzie - Suffered a ligament injury during Nigeria's last U23 AFCON qualifier, but seems to be on track to recover in time to compete for an Olympic team spot. Prior to the injury, he was one of the key players in the side, and it looked like a Super Eagles call-up was in the offing. Siasia will be hoping that he will be all the way back to form and fitness by the time the Olympiad rolls around.

6. Chima Akas - Seems to be highly thought of by Super Eagles coach Sunday Oliseh, but bad timing of injuries and national team duty have kept him from having a runout with Siasia's team, more than anything else. Should finally get a chance to prove his worth in the U23 side heading into the Olympics.

Sports / Siasia’s Olympic Dream – An Embarassment Of Riches (1) by Phantomine(m): 1:09am On Dec 18, 2015

Twitter: @papertalkng

In this four-part series, Papertalk’s Guest Writer, football analyst Chiedu Onukogu looks at the abundance of talent Coach Samson Siasia has at his disposal in his pursuit of the Olympic soccer gold in Rio next year. In this first instalment, Chiedu examines the challenges Siasia will have to overcome and takes a tentative look at the first set of players – the goalkeepers.

By Chiedu Onukogu

Siasia has a big challenge ahead of him.
He has a large talent pool from which to select players, but having just qualified for Rio with one set of players, he will now have to incorporate another set of players into his group if he is serious about being on the medal podium at the Olympics in Rio next year.

Some say that this is impossible to do but Siasia has already had to make important shifts in the thinking about his roster – first, with the injury to Stanley Amuzie and the exodus of some of his key players to Europe; and second, in response to his teams’ disappointing 3rd place finish at the All Africa Games. All the same, it will not be easy and will take careful planning by Siasia’s staff and the NFF, which heretofore have not held up their end of the bargain in terms of the support needed to get the U-23 team to the promised land.

That will have to change going forward.

First off, preparations for the Olympic football tournament must start early. Siasia will need time to reconvene his current squad, bolstering it with a few players here and there whom he has overlooked for one reason or another. Hopefully, the 2016 CHAN will help in throwing up some options for the team. It will also be important for him to hold this camp before the restart of the Nigerian League season (or at least have the backing of the NFF and the full cooperation of NPFL) so that there will be no excuse of clubsides holding back players. The squad can then be whittled down through friendly matches to reveal the players whom Siasia will pencil down for further preparations. Mind you, having gone through the qualifiers, the All Africa Games and the U23 AFCON, he should already know who his bankable players are. But this will be a chance for overlooked players to impress, and for others who are ‘on the bubble’ to leave their last impression with him prior to the job of integrating key players plying their trade outside the shores of Nigeria into the team.

Now, to integrate the foreign based players into the team the NFF should seriously consider keeping the Olympic team busy during FIFA windows. We have two FIFA windows between now and the summer: March 21-29; and May 30-June 7. The Super Eagles will, of course, be engaged in the serious business of qualifying for the African Nations Cup, but those players not called up by Oliseh should be free to join Siasia and the Olympic team. By using the FIFA windows, clubs can’t hold onto our players and we stand a better chance of successfully blending the players that Siasia will want to add to the team. Then when the team gets together in late July or August for the Olympics proper, part of the blending process will have already taken place.

So just how many new players should Siasia be looking to break into the team? Well, that is up to the coach. Siasia knows his team and has coached at this level before and knows what is required, so I trust him to make the right decisions. In this regard some have said that Siasia is a coach who is loyal to his troops – meaning that he will stick with his players that qualified him for the Olympics. I must say that there is some truth to that loyalty aspect. But he is also a coach who has a burning desire to win and having come 2nd best at two world tournaments, his goal of bringing home the gold will trump loyalty in the vast majority of his decisions. However, in the case of a roster decision coming down to two players who are close in ability, that is where I see him leaning towards the player who he has been to war with.

In any case, starting from between the goalposts, here are the players that I believe might be on his provisional lists in the coming months.

THE GOALKEEPERS

1. Emmanuel Daniel – Has been Siasia’s first choice from the very beginning and has justified the confidence reposed in him. Very calm and composed in goal with good positioning, underrated reflexes and top notch ball handling. It will be very difficult to wrestle his starting jersey away from him.

2. Yusuf Mohammmed – Has also been with Siasia from the very beginning but the Kano Pillars man has had to work hard to win the battle for the number two goalkeeping spot, beating out the likes of Shooting Stars Akande Abiodun as well as former youth internationals Daniel Emmanson and Jonah Usman. Hard to imagine that he will not be part of the provisional squad, and other invited goalkeepers will have to be at their best to keep him from going to Rio.

3. Dele Alampasu – Siasia appears to be enamoured with his potential, thus it is no surprise that Alampasu has severally been called up to train with the U-23s. Now being groomed in the Super Eagles, he will likely get the nod to compete for a spot on the Rio Olympics train.

Celebrities / How I Had Sex With My 27 Wives’ – Late Afrobeat Legend, Fela by Phantomine(m): 7:10pm On Oct 18, 2015
As the 2015 Felabration wraps up today, let’s take you through the life and times of the Afrobeat Legend through the eyes of Moore Carlos (the author of Fela’s Authorized biography titled; Fela: This Bitch of A Life).

In the 23-chapter biography, the Afrobeat legend Fela Anikulapo-Kuti spoke about what attracted him to his 27 wives.

I’m n his words, Fela said, ‘What attracted me to each of them? Sex! I thought they were sexy and fuckable. That’s what attracts me to a woman first.

“Some came to my house on their own. Others, I had come. Why? ‘Cause I wanted to Bleep them. That was all.

“I wanted a house where I could be fucking and I had it. It grew into something else after though. Something special. But it started just with sex. The desire to Bleep.

“Man, the one most important thing in the human being is that life-giving and pleasurable sensation: sexual orgasm. And that’s what’s being condemned the most.

“Yeah. Somebody was asking me, trying to put down my ideas, if I thought sex was politics’. ‘No, I don’t,’ I said. ‘Sex is life.’ That’s what I believe.

“Me, I Bleep as often and as long as I can-o! Now, it’s not even a matter of choice. When I married twenty-seven women I knew what I was doing-o!

“Did I sleep with all of them on the night of the marriage? No. Man, I said I married twenty-seven, not seven! I only slept with one. The one next in turn. I followed my normal procedure.

You see, before I married them I’d told them: ‘Look, when I marry you, I’m gonna do the same thing I was doing before with you. It’s gonna be the same house, the same thing, but just that we’re married’.

Fela adds that, ‘Having sex must be a proud and joyful thing. People should be proud to say: ‘Last night I had a fantastic Bleep!’ Not a thing to whisper: ‘I’m having sex-o, but I’m sad.’

Sex is clean. But by bringing human laws into it, it’s made ‘dirty’. Sex is life-giving. Sex is joy! Pleasure! Happiness! To Bleep! That’s one of the most important things in life, man.”

The authorized biography was first published in 1982 and based on hours of conversation with Fela. It’s an intriguing concoction of Fela’s first-person vernacula and it also has interviews 15 of his 27 wives listed in order of seniority: Remi 1961, Naa Lamiley 1971, Aduni 1971, Kevwe 1972, Funmilayo 1972, Alake 1973, Adejonwo 1974 , Najite 1974, Adeola 1974, Kikelomo 1974, Ihase 1975, Omowunmi 1975, Omolara 1976, Fehintola 1976, Sewaa 1977.

ZUBY77:
I am not really into creating sports threads but Sunday Oliseh caught me unawares with this one.
This can only end as a doom for him because Nigerians love those who make them happy.

We have discussed the issue of the fallout with Enyeama and all I can say is that 99% of Nigerians felt Oliseh should have discussed with Enyeama in private before stripping him of Captaincy as if he slept with another man's wife.

....My question is why did Sunday Oliseh insult not only Enyeama but also Mikel by handing the captain band to Musa?

Like I do almost on every issue, I have analyzed his intentions and I believe it has something to do with being appointed in the ministry of Sports or even NFF later by the Northern leaders who just took over the country.

That's my theory, I might be wrong but I believe this appointment has a political motivation

I still find find your bolded statement above completely out of the so called 'controversial circumstances'. That statement is strongly tainted with ethnic coloration, despicable bias and total disrespect to the person of Sunday, Orliseh's, Ahmed MUSA and anyone from the Northern stock. Mind you, I'm a south westerner. I just can't stand racism or ethnicity.

In as much as I agree that you have some valid points, Mikel Arteta was almost the oldest player in Arsenal when he arrived. Wenger also likes his captains to come from Midfield. Can we safely say that it played a role in his Choice as Captain. In our own case, Mikel despite being there before Musa, is also older than him. And he plays in the midfield where most coaches want their captain to come from.
What again is the motive behind Musa's choice?

Uhm I don't think I remember anybody Making RVP Manchester United Captain on permanent basis.

Bros, I found your conjectures highly unreswasonable. So because Ahmed Musa is a Northerner and OLISEH made him a captain, that is enough ground to be suspicious? When did it become a sin or better still a reason for suspicion for a Northerner to be an Eagles skipper? I'm appalled with this kind of thinking. When will Nigerian think outside their myopic and ethnic leanings? It's damn right shameful that we still hold firm to these myopic style of reason. Was it so right that Kanu Nwankwo an Easterner was an Eagles Skipper, but so wrong that Ahmed MUSA a northerner and a striker was equally an Eagles skipper? Your comment made me sad to point of tears that just because Ahmed MUSA is a Northerner, he become a suspect. All your effort to link Orliseh's decision to Northerners being in power and Innevitably to BUHARI is so shameful. in your analysis, I saw a lettered mind with an uneducated view, and disjointed reasoning fueled by hatred and ethnic bigotry. Be careful what u put out in public. This is garrulous!

Sports / Revealed! Real Story Behind Oliseh, Enyeama Clash In Belgium by Phantomine(m): 4:04pm On Oct 09, 2015
EXCLUSIVE By Johnny Edward:

Completesportsnigeria.com can exclusively report today the real story behind the clash between Super Eagles coach Sunday Oliseh and (former) captain Vincent Enyeama on Tuesday night.

A source within the team's camp in Belgium, who witnessed the incident, narrated the dramatic confrontation that led to the initial expulsion and recall of Enyeama.

While the story doing the rounds is that the battle started because Oliseh shouted down Enyeama while the Lille keeper was trying to explain his late arrival in camp, Completesportsnigeria.com learnt that was not exactly how it went down.

Oliseh, according to our source, had no issue with Enyeama arriving in camp on Tuesday instead of Monday, since the coach was aware that the keeper was recently bereaved and buried his late mum over the weekend.

But the clash started when, while holding a meeting with the players after their evening training session which Enyeama attended but did not participate in, Oliseh mentioned Ahmed Musa as the team captain. Enyeama was said to have rudely interrupted the coach's speech at this point, the Lille keeper insisting that he was the captain, not Musa.

This interruption apparently riled Oliseh, who ordered Enyeama to let him (Oliseh) address his players in peace. But Enyeama continued talking, raising his voice at the coach.

When Oliseh could not take it anymore, he ordered that Enyeama leave the venue of the meeting as he felt the keeper was undermining his (Oliseh's) authority.

When Enyeama refused to leave, Oliseh asked for the goalkeeper to be forcibly removed from the Verviers Hotel camp by security men.

But five senior players in the squad: Mikel Obi, Ogenyi Onazi, Ahmed Musa, Elderson Echiejile and Emmanuel Emenike, waded in and all went to Oliseh's room to plead on behalf of Enyeama.

Also there were telephone calls from the Nigerian Football Federation President Amaju Pinnick and even some big Nigerian politicians to have the matter resolved.

"Enyeama was rude to Oliseh, no doubt. Oliseh has so many issues to deal with, especially the inability of six home-based players to get visas to join the squad, and the possibility of Godfrey Oboabona missing the match, and he doesn't need this additional distraction " a top official told Completesportsnigeria.com, before corroborating the first source's narration of events..

"The embarrassment he got from Enyeama in the presence of the other players was uncalled for and disappointing.

"Oliseh just announced that Ahmed Musa remains his captain and Enyeama flared up. He was told his response wasn't needed by the coach but Enyeama was angered and would not back down.

"He was asked to excuse the meeting and when he didn't, Oliseh asked for him to be bundled out of the team's camp, contrary to reports in the media that Enyeama was asked to shut up while trying to explain his late arrival, which wasn't even an issue.

"For goodness sake, a coach has the right to pick his captain for the team. New coaches do it all the time."

The source went further to explain that for Oliseh to drive down to Lille at the start of the Ligue 1 season to discuss the rebuilding process of the Super Eagles with Enyeama shows how much he respects the former Enyimba star.

"Oliseh wasn't given the respect he deserved. He (Oliseh) is not a saint and might not be completely blameless, but Enyeama should respect the coach; he is the boss," the source added.

There were also hints from the team's camp that Oliseh was not happy that Enyeama arrived early enough to train with the team on Tuesday, only to spend the entire time chatting with team secretary Dayo Enebi, asking questions about the new players in the squad, while Carl Ikeme was the only other goalkeeper in camp and the team would need two for a full session.

Oliseh Replies Enyeama: Stop Lying Against Me!
9 OCT 2015
HEADLINES, TOP FEATURES
Super Eagles coach Sunday Oliseh granted an exclusive interview to the Nigeria Football Federation Youtube channel to put the record straight regarding his row with Vincent Enyeama, insisting that he did nothing wrong…

Presented by Completesportsnigeria.com's IZUCHUKWU OKOSI and ADEBOYE AMOSU:

Let’s start with this tour of Belgium, how would you describe the result of the first game against DR Congo, from your own perspective, the positives and negatives?

Well, this tour started on a difficult note for us. First we have a player who withdrew from the squad. I'm talking about Victor Moses who withdrew for precautionary reasons. Then we had to bring in a replacement for him.
Then the worst part of the whole thing was the fact we couldn't bring down the six home-based guys down here on time.
These are players we are counting to make an impact in the team. So we had to bring in other players who don't need visas to join us. We also had to bring in Ambrose Efe.
We knew before the game that we were going to have difficulties in central defence due to the absence of Godfrey Oboabona and Keneth Omeruo. So we started the game with a right-back (Leon Balogun) in central defence.
Unfortunately, the two goals we conceded came from this side. But if you look at the game, we did well. If you look at the fact Shehu (Abdullahi) was playing in his first game and as a right-back, I think it was something good.
If you look at the way we played, then you will give kudos to the players. As a matter of fact I was impressed with John Obi Mikel. He carried the team, he was mobile. He did everything I asked him to do and I like that very much.
Mikel took charge of the game and was telling people what to do. I pray he continues like this.
I'm also happy with Elderson Echiejile. His positioning was fantastic. He was very good on the ball. We had more possession but unfortunately we couldn't score on the night. Definitely we have lots of positives to take from the game.
On a negative part, defensively we were not so solid. Like I already told you, the cohesion in defence was not there because of the changes.
I'm just hoping that Oboabona will get a visa tomorrow (Friday) so that he can join us for the Cameroon game.

Okay, let's talk about your goalkeeper, the former first choice goalie, Vincent Enyeama, called it quits from international football few hours before the game, a lot of people are saying it was as a result of the fall-out with you in camp, what happened between you and Vincent?

It's puzzling, to say the least and I'm very disappointed about the character assassination Vincent has portrayed against my personality. If you want to retire, retire. You don't have to drag someone else into it.
I would like to explain the whole thing in detail. We invited 24 players for the two games.
Mikel came in on Sunday and the majority of the players arrived in camp on Monday. I knew because of his mother's burial that Vincent wouldn't be able to come around the same day.
He came to camp on Tuesday afternoon, around 5.20 or 5.30 pm. We were training when he drove in from Lille. We even took some pictures together as I was happy to see him in camp.
But I was not happy with the physical involvements of the players. During the dinner, I spoke about this and I told the players I was not happy with this. At the end of my speech, as I was about to sit down, Vincent stood up and said he wanted to speak and I told him it was not the right time to say anything because we just had a discussion on how to improve and it wasn't the right time to discuss personal issues.
He said no and I refused. I told him 'I don't want you to say anything for now. If you want to discuss any personal issue, you can come to me and we thrash it out'.
He was adamant and wanted to say something. I told him 'with all due respect, I'm the coach of this team and we don't have two coaches. I decide who talks or not. If you refuse to abide by what I say it's better you go out.'
He was still adamant and I told him 'it is either you go out or we leave the room for you.' I later said it is either you go out or they take you out because the situation was stopping the team from having their dinner.
Eventually his teammates got up and took him out. I told him it is either you stop this or you go home. You can go home, I have released you. You just came and you're arguing in camp. He just came in and had not had a training with the team.
So, I went to my room and five of his collegues: Mikel, Emmanuel Emenike, Ahmed Musa, Ogenyi Onazi and Elderson Echiejile said coach we have spoken to him.
They said they know him, that sometimes he talks before he thinks. I said okay he can stay. We are trying to build a new team, he can stay around.
Then, the next morning, he came, everthing was settled. He ate breakfast and as we were about to leave for training, I received a message from Nigeria that Vincent said I insulted his late mother.
Vincent insinuated and has already made it public that I insulted his mother. I went ahead and addressed the team. This was really bad. It was a blatant lie.
I find it difficult to take because you can't make false accusations where there are a lot of witnesses around. There were 19 players there and four officials.
There was no reason to talk about his mother because he just came in to camp. There was nothing to talk about him. He was just trying to make people sympathize with him that he was badly treated.
He was the captain of the team. When we played in Tanzania, I called the team administrator, Dayo Enebi, and we arranged for the team to wear black armbands and have a minute silence in honour of Vincent's late mum.
The only reason that was not done was because as Dayo said, the Tanzanians said we should direct our request to CAF and time was too short for us to do that. Dayo is my witness.

How would a man that is sensitive enough to decide to honour Vincent Enyeama's late mother then turn around and insult the same woman?

Let me take take you off that track a little bit before we come back to it, many people have said Vincent did not actually react to the fact you dropped for Ahmed Musa as captain of the side. When you were appointed the coach of the side, did you at any time reach out to him on your plans, because some people are saying you never wanted him in the team. That you have already made up your mind you don't want him as your captain…

Before I was appointed head coach of the Super Eagles, Vincent Enyeama had a big rift with the Nigeria Football Federation over a statement he made about Kaduna as venue for the game against Chad.

I was not the coach then, but I stood for him because I felt he should not be castigated for representing his teammates.

When I was appointed as head coach of the Super Eagles, the first thing I did was to drive down to Lille to watch Vincent train. I spent a whole day watching Vincent train. I took him out for lunch which I paid for. I had a talk with him to intimate him about my plans for the team with him as the captain.
I told him about the tactical things we wanted to change, the changes we wanted to make in the team like you do with your captain.
When I spoke to him there, he made one statement, he was talking about retiring in a year or two after the Nations Cup.
I told him, Vincent, I'm trying to build a team at least for 2018.I don't need a captain who is thinking of retiring from football or quitting football, while we are building a new team.
Nobody does that in football. You wait till your last game and then announce your retirement. I didn't argue with him over that.
Then two weeks ago, Vincent called me to discuss the funeral arrangements for his mother and I told it's sad what has happened to you, but I wouldn't be available for the burial but I spoke with the NFF President, Amaju Pinnick, and I told Vincent he would be there.
While we were talking again, he mentioned the issue of retirement again. That was when I decided to pick Ahmed Musa as captain because I felt there is need to have a new captain who is not going to retire soon.
To now take that as something personal is funny. I don't know Vincent personally and it's difficult to have grudges with him.

But he has been in Super Eagles for a long time…
I had already retired from the team before he joined the team. So, it's not as if I have something against him. We cannot continue like this. If we want to retire, retire and don't drag others into it and make trouble

Let's come to the Belgium tour, DR Congo is done and dusted, Cameroon is next…
First, we allow the boys to have a rest and freshen up. We take the positives from the game against DR Congo.
We are just hopeful that Godfrey will get his visa to come around. We need a central defender for the game against Cameroon on Sunday.
We are building, we are getting more players and the cohesion is going on well.

I am enjoying Buhari's Administration though the market seem to respond negatively for now ...... .... The future of this administration is quite brighter .... Buhari already warned Nigerians to prepare for some challenges in the next few months thus Market reaction is preempted not out of cluelessness.

This is the time to debrief all sectors and dismantle those mechanisms that has always set Nigeria backward in the last 16years of PDP rule ....... By the time MNJTF is put into action with support from western allies and the eastern power bloc, this insurgency ravaging Northern Nigeria would be stories of the past.

Africa really need to invest heavily on good governance, promote strong Ideology among our people and invest heavily on military and intelligence.

You can't build good house on poor foundation and while destroying illegitimate foundations the environment would have to bear some inconveniences.

God Bless Nigeria.
