I already feel I will be a mess this season cheesy

Thankfully I will be able to watch evenings and every weekend plus Monday from tomorrow…

…cos, honestly, for now I am still riding my initial (Sat and Sun, small Monday) assessment, I have learnt totally nothing new about the housemates so far. I have been too busy (wailing)

Don't worry about it too much. We still have over 60days to go.

The volumes coming out of NSE is plain pathetic. A whole GTB did on N5M plus today.

Most likely money is leaving NSE for the crypto space. It obviously lack depth. Foreign investors apathy is also not helping matters.

Nothing supports the bear we are experiencing in the market. I know the market can be irrational.

1.On paper, we just got out of recession
2.Covid is coming under more control
3.Oil price is up
4.Companies are churning out decent profit and declaring reasonable dividend despite the challenges of 2020. One would think a bullish run should reward our companies for being resilient despite very obvious challenges of the past year.
5. The economic outlook for 2021 is even better.

What else am I missing? You can add your point.

Are the people mopping UBA at N7.20 tired?

im positive something is at play here. (maybe opportunistic acquisition, hence need for cash)

but the issue is that the market is not going to entertain anything like that. pple had wised up to the fact that what they eat (dividend) is what matter.

so you can expect maximum punishment for the rest of the week.

the bottom wld be quite deep particularly when there was no form of market warning before now (like profit warning / guidance or conference call hint during 6 month / 9 month result release)

market (worldwide including Nigeria) HATES surprises (like this)

it cld be fishing in the 4 - 5 range for a long time (minimum of 2 quarters) till the Management direction is known for such drastic drop in dividend payout.

N.B not an attempt to run down as im heavy here

NSE is a weird place. Don't be surpprise to see UBA go up within a short time. They did very well, so I wonder why they will be paying less dividend. It is still a surprise to me. We all anticipated a bad result from Nigerian companies but they turned the corner. Shareholders deserve better.

UBA made more money in 2020 but are paying less dividend. Total of N.52 as opposed to N1 paid last year.

May be 2021 will be the real ghetto.

At this rate, it is only God that knows what Access Bank will do.

Dividend hunters got it wrong this time.

Sent a message to @StanChartNG that my account was locked. They responded quickly and unlocked. The message I sent to Gtbank since December went unanswered until an old friend from Benin stepped in.

Stanchart runs a global call center not just in Nigeria and they are efficient.

I have decided to stop using local African banks because they aren't serious yet about customer service. Financial services is not about building branches or having plenty overworked and poorly paid people. It is about giving and receiving service with joy.

Copied.

Bros isn't that the pattern with zenith bank after dividend announcements‍♂️

Check Zenith bank volume from last year even way before dividend was announced. You will see a pattern. I don't hold a single unit of the bank though.

In my layman knowledge, I also think investors favour GTBank over Zenith because GTBank has much better corporate governance than Zenith. Zenith is really a one-man business. Uncle Jim has all the power he appoints and fires CEOs at will. Everyone knows the next CEO is that yellow lady who is currently the Deputy CEO and her story is long. GTBank has a lot more stability in that regard, and the fact that PepsiCo hired Segun Agbaje to join their board shows that foreigners rate him and the bank very highly.

And you think investors sentiment doesn't change with time. Watch Zenith bank closely. It is not ghosts that do those billion naira transaction almost every other day o.

ZENITH: All roads leads to this stock today.......
Over N1.1B done so far ....and still counting......
Though deep pockets are sighted on offer table with offers far outweigh bids, yet positive sentiments with juicy Dividend keeps investors buying.......
Can the mountain @N27 be leveled? We wait and see....... grin

AFRIPRUD: Bargain hunters sighted on bid table.........with bids far outweigh offers.......

ACCESS/UBA/FBNH/GT/FIDELITY getting attentions too........Zenith giving investors hope on these ones...... smiley

In terms of Dividend, UBA will likely pay much more than ACCESS............in terms of sentiments, ACCESS carries higher mark here.......we watch as it unfolds.......

If Access surprises us, that will be a bang.

Being the most efficient bank is not in terms of customer service. It's in the fact that GTBank achieves almost the same profit as Zenith, with a LOT LESS cash. The smarter folks here can explain this better

Effeciency in asset utilisation and not on people who bring in the money is penny wise, pounds foolish. It is only a matter of time before that bank unravels if they don't improve. Note what I just told you.

I sometimes thought it's only me, the hype around that stock is too much.......
It's just investors sentiments that I saw at play........ lipsrsealed

It's just like the case of Stanbic too, trading higher than others in the sector and will sometimes still come up with 40kobo as Dividend......what are they doing differently from the likes of GT & Zee that makes the stock a premium one? grin

It is big sentiment dear. Go to any GTB brank and seek for the simplest of support or for your queries to be resolved or even send them a message on twitter. They won't even respond for months. It is not a retail bank. Most of the fraud in the banking sector also happens there.
