Tvegas: Morning everyone,
Except for the Day traders on this board i want to advice value investors to avoid checking the markets every minute and seconds to avoid High blood pressure. Things are irrational these days and constant shocks to the financial markets will continue for a while.
Checking once a day to confirm your trade is probably fine but these per seconds Heeeee and Haaaaa as the market swing daily is unhealthy in my opinion.
Like Emmanuelewumi would advise if you know what you bought and why you bought it,You can sleep easy. Good advice. Value can easily be wiped out though. These are times one can't predict. Prices can stay and even lower for couple of years. How long can you wait? |

Investors are actually buying Wapco. I think it might be the next gold on NSE. It might just stage a solo bullish run to our surprise. Keep your eyes on it. If it Q1 comes out fine, then it might be running to meet BUA.
There OS is heavy sha. |

I don't know how traders that buy Afripud make money. That stock can range. It is the most power ranger out there. |

Bomboclad: You would have to wait till tomorrow to confirm a reversal on banking stocks, as the current move is very weak. I think so too. Then an eye on the macro-economic space too. A lot is happening at the same time. This is best moment for traders as volatility is strong. Medium to long term investors can keep buying at any price they want but traders will have to be careful in choosing there entry price. |

I think is still bearish. Today looks like a fake out. If most prices close at yesterday's close or lower, then tomorrow and may be Friday will end on a bearish note. |

RabbiDoracle: Q4 2019 had a GDP growth rate of 2.55%.
So Q1 2020 may not be adversely impacted. It is Q2 2020 that will be the issue.
To be in technical recession, you should have 2 quarters of negative growth rate.
So you are foreseeing this issue lasting till end of September for us to be in technical recession?
I don't share that view.
Most companies/countries are introducing measures to restart economies. Emirates wants to space people in flights. So you no need Business class anymore niyen nauw. Heat wan finish airliners.
So I am expecting this April ending, May, June to have pick up in economic activities so as to limit the impact of economic sudden stop globally.
India opened up partially. Maybe Nigeria may open up once this lockdown expires next week.
There will be job losses in Nigeria and hardship will bite more. Informal jobs will suffer alot because in 9ja there is no stimulus to reach all small businesses to prevent layoffs. I agree with most of your points but I don't see oil price going above our first budget benchmark this year. If that happens, it means FG can't fund the budget. Less money for infrastructural and economic activity will translate to slowing economy that might slip into recession. FAAC doesn't even have much to share this month and may be in the coming months. That means, state will start owing salaries and contractors and then a cascade of events. I believe you know this better than I do. For me, I think we should prepare for the worse. The guys at CBN already seem confused. My banks have been sending me messages that I can't access XYZ amount of dollars for international transactions any more. The signs are everywhere. I pray we survive this wave |

RabbiDoracle: Brent has broken down.
The government will need to learn the hard way.
They have been paying lip service to diversification.
There should be another devaluation in my opinion . Maybe to N500. Devaluation will bite very hard on Nigerians who are already impoverished to stupor. Purchasing ability will be almost wiped out. I still see the scars of the last pseudo-devaluation on people. What is the point having money that can't afford anything. Technically, we are already in a recession. Funding the budget is out of reach of this regime. I hope they don't owe salaries. |

Mcy56: Not that I know anything o, but Transcorp btw 60k-65k seems good for now........barring any unforeseen incident again. There's pressure on FG to pay the telcos some money. FG actually announced that they paid them 200M for power but they refuted it, claiming they didn't receive any money from FG. Also, I posted restructuring news some times ago. It may end up having positive impact. Let's see how it goes.....
**NB: pls nobody should take this as any form of advice, it's just for info purpose. I may be very wrong. I am always watching that stock. Very very unpredictable. |
