If that is the case, I want to believe its someone's else mi account that is logged in there before u factory reset the phone. And this only possible on 2 occasions;

1. You bought the phone as a second hand, and the seller didnt remove the previously logged in mi account

2. The phone was stolen.

From what u are saying, I dont think its mi account issue.

I had something close to this your problem when I did a factory reset. After entering Mi account password another password field for previously installed Eset security popped up

I used the power button method and was never asked for Mi cloud password

For the record, there is no way u can factory reset that phone without it requesting for your Mi account login. I have done factory rerset on my Xiaomi before, and everytime i tried doing that, my mi account details is always being requested. The qst now is, how did u factory reset the phone?

It is for you to use to get your PUK before the line is blocked

If you are using MTN line, download mymtn app from playstore and install. You can get your PUK number without the jamb questions.

Instead of shouting up and down try and understand xiaomi's marketing strategy, last year the best of xiaomi's midrange phones were using sd660, phones like mi a2, mi 8lite etc, while some even used sd712. lets call those upper midrange. While their mid midrange used sd636 and some used sd625.
As last year ended, Qualcomm released a host of new processors, like sd675, sd714(?) and sd855, xiaomi used their best upper midrange, sd660 in RN7, while they used the sd675 in the RN7PRO to actually show a "pro". A phone with "pro" should be a glaring upgrade and as such, that's what xiaomi aimed to do. Mi max 4 will also launch with sd660 but mi a3 will be with sd675. At least following from xiaomi's precedents.

Why does Redmi 7 have sd632? Simple, Redmi note 6 pro still exists, there is no use trying to kill the sales of your own goods, that's why there is no RN7PRO with 4gb 64gb, it will kill the sales of RN7 and the sales of Mi 9(lite or is it SE). So instead of shouting that xiaomi dont know what they are doing, try and understand why they are doing what they are doing. We are talking about the highest selling smartphone brand in the past 5 years o, they must be doing something extremely right.

I think apart from the notification wahala due to the large notch (the ir face unlock is great though) the pocophone is fast, camera is really great even without gcam, poco is money well spent shout out to noobody for the cheap $$$ also
