The Chinese version does not come with Google Apps but can easily be installed by using a GAPP INSTALLER app in a matter of minutes..
For a Nigerian user,there is not much downside to the Chinese version in reality and the Chinese Apps can be Uninstalled..

If you are presented with both as gift and told to choose only one of them, which would you go for and why?

Hmmm! Dilemma. I have the Mi 8 lite 6/128 which I use because of band 28 and was gotten at very cheap price but the Redmi Note 7 is better in other aspects. Bigger battery, better camera, infrared, FM radio, QC 4 and it is also built as a rock

Another thing is that RN7 definitely will have more support. Mi 8 lite is like an orphan

NB. MI 8 lite is not my primary device

Dear gurus in the house, I am currently torn between mi 8 lite and redmi note 7.

Looking for:
- great camera (both primary and secondary camera)
- great battery (should at least last 24hours on regular usage. I spend average of 7 hours a day on phone)
- great responsiveness (lagging in phones annoy me)
- at least android pie and should be guaranteed to get the next version of Android
- dedicated SD card slot

My budget is capped at 80k (this Hopefully should include the accessories)

You can't go wrong with any of the two , but be prepared to do with hybrid SIM slot

Hoping to see some reasonable spec on the upcoming Redmi 7 pro. Something close to the Mi Play in size with at least a 3500mah will be interesting. Man is tired of all these oversized phones.
