I guess that confirms it. Is this another theory, tool or explanation for the planned elimination of manhood?

For more clarification, 'self-fertilization' is an off-shot of 'artificial insemination'
No one is eliminating manhood don't go that far.

agathamari:
there is a theory that the Y chromosone is shrinking. i know the following quotes dont really help you but i think they are cute
"Some geneticists think the Y chromosome is now little more than a genetic wasteland that will eventually just disappear. If that were to happen, it would certainly spell the end of sexual reproduction."
" Scientists theorize that the X and Y chromosome started out with about the same amount of genes -- about 1,000. Today, the Y chromosome has less than 80 genes."
"Although most men are unaware of the peril, the Y chromosome has been shedding genes furiously over the course of evolutionary time, and it is now a fraction of the size of its partner, the X chromosome, The decay of the Y stems from the fact that it is forbidden to enjoy the principal advantage of sex, which is, of course, for each member of a pair of chromosomes to swap matching pieces of DNA with its partner."
"From sperm count to social status and from fertilisation to death, as civilisation advances, those who bear Y chromosomes are in relative decline."

Politics › Cbn Traces 60 Shops In Dubai To Sacked Bank Chief by Pharoh(op): 2:00pm On Nov 17, 2009
The Governor of the nation's Central Bank, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, stated yesterday that the bank has traced about 60 shops in Dubai to one of the sacked bank chief executive officers. Mr. Sanusi disclosed this in his presentation at the ninth meeting of the Honorary International Investor Council (HIIC) at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja. He said that efforts are on to recover the property.

"As at this morning, we have been able to trace 45 to 60 shops in Dubai belonging to one of the sacked bank CEOs.

"We are not just following the money, we are also following the property and we are going to pursue everything and bring it back to the country with the support of the international community," Sanusi said.

The CBN governor also disclosed that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) will, this week, arraign former Chief Executive Officer of Intercontinental Bank, Erastus Akingbola, who has been on the run. "We have filed the charges in the court and we have also prepared charges against one or two of the management staff of the bank; they will be brought to the court," he added.

He stated government's commitment to pursue the banking reform to a logical conclusion. "For this reform process to succeed, we think it is extremely important for us to pursue the case to a logical conclusion. It is not just about prosecution, it is also about tracing the money that we have not been able to see.

"Some of the money flew out of the country. We have the accounts where some of the money went. We have the banks and the countries," he said. Mr. Sanusi the Council the assurance that the banking sector has been put on a safe track by the reform agenda embarked upon by the administration of President Umaru Yar'Adua. "The banking sector remains a major driver of economic activities. The sector is not in crisis; we have forestalled this. Not a single depositor has lost a penny in any Nigerian bank. No Nigerian bank has defaulted in any of its obligations locally or internationally. The reform we are doing is to avert anticipated crisis in the sector," he said.

Improved microeconomics

Also addressing the Council, the Minister of Finance, Mansur Muhtar, announced that the 2010 Appropriation Bill will be presented to the National Assembly on Thursday. He noted that the Nigerian macro-economic environment has improved in 2009 due to government's pro-active response to the global economic slowdown. He acknowledged that there was poor performance on revenue generation due to the crisis in the Niger Delta region. He, however, said that drawing from excess crude reserves to meet the target in terms of budget releases mitigated the shortfalls. Mr. Mukhtar also acknowledged that as at October, close to 40 per cent of the appropriated fund in the 2009 budget was unspent and still "hovering" in CBN accounts. He said that the Federal Government has sent a proposal to the National Assembly for approval to deploy the unutilised fund to address critical areas that need urgent attention. The Coordinator of the Council, Lynda Chalker, advised that money appropriated for the Niger Delta should be channelled to development projects. She also urged all government officials, particularly governors and ministers, to declare and sustain the war against corruption.

The Vice-President, Goodluck Jonathan, ministers and top foreign and Nigerian businessmen, attended the Council meeting. The News Agency of Nigeria reports the vice-president had earlier explained that the Honorary International Investors Council (HIIC), which started in 2004, was set up to attract global financial players to Nigerian economy.

"The participants are people from across the globe who have been in business all over the world as well as some Nigerians who have also risen to that international level.

"They are to look into Nigeria investment environment, advise on areas to improve on and attract their colleagues all over the world to take interest in investing in Nigeria," he said.

Busta:
as far as know, if the two are married . . . the kids usually takes the father's name.
On rare occasion though u see them take and hyphenate both dad and mum's name like Zahara Jolie-Pitt.
Good reply from you and your example highlights a situation where the husband and the wife has come to an agreement about this name issue.  At the moment it is the father that divides the names of the kid but that cannot be said of  the near future.

I asked that question about the kid names so women should think thoughtful the reason why they want to keep their father's name. Do you want to show that you are an independent woman or you want to keep your fathers name going hence my suggestion in my first post.

If your reasons are very genuine why not just talk it out with your hubby i believe he will see reasons. I am speaking as a man who is going to do the same thing with my wife about the children's name.

My mother is the only surviving child of her father, i mean only both grand and great. We are all answering my fathers name which she does as well. I want some of my kids to answer her fathers name and i won't be imposing that on my wife. I have to talk it out with my wife the reasons for doing that because they are also her kids.

So the bottom line to me is come with a genuine reason and talk it out with your partner about this name issue.

Cant u see that maintaining your father's name after marriage has not solved the problem u hav in mind cos the name wld still die one day. your children ar not going to bear your father's name so the the name dies with u.

By the way, what's there in name keeping a name, it is never going to taake any dead person to any eternity. Your future generation may decide to change the name. So whats all the fuss abt?
Some ladies are obviously missing the point really and kudos for you as a lady for saying this.

I am not sure but I know in the west . . . it takes a whole lot of hassle to officially change your name.

secondly . . . depends of who. Some people just love to stick to their parents name. No harm in that.
If there is no harm in that then what surname will the children bear then?
Culture › Re: Why do Nigerian Women Bear Their Father's Name, After Marriage? by Pharoh: 1:26pm On Nov 17, 2009
If her reasons are genuine she can take up her fathers name or a compound name but if it is for selfish reasons then she is just laying a foundation for an unhappy marriage in most cases.
Politics › Court Validates Soludo's Nomination by Pharoh(op): 1:19pm On Nov 17, 2009
A suit filed by some members of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Anambra state against the nomination of Chukwuma Soludo as the party's flagship candidate in the forthcoming governorship elections was yesterday struck out as Judge Danlami Senchi of the Abuja High Court claimed the court lacked the jurisdiction to entertain the suit.

Mr. Soludo had emerged as the party's consensus candidate on the 9th of October amidst internal controversies and the Anambra High court's ruling which prevented the party from holding the required congress.

His emergence as the PDP's candidate out of other 47 candidates was to beat the deadline set by the Independent National Electoral commission for all political parties to submit the nomination forms of their flag bearers for the election.

Following this, on the 23rd of October a suit was filed by Valentine Ozigboh and Victoria Nwankwo, who had gotten an exparte ruling from the High court.

This prevented Mr. Soludo, former governor of the Central bank of Nigeria from parading himself as the party's candidate for the elections, which hold in February 2010.

A ‘domestic matter'

Delivering the ruling, Justice Danlami Senchi, said "we discovered that the plaintiffs did not exhaust the internal process to resolve the matter, in line with section 17 of the PDP's Constitution and section 85(1) of the 2006 Electoral Act. These provisions put nominations of candidates to stand for elections strictly under the purview of the political parties which the courts have no rights to adjudicate. In the light of this, the nomination of Soludo on October 9 to represent his party at the February 2010 Anambra governorship election is totally a domestic matter."

Counsel to Mr. Soludo, Patrick Ikwueto (a Senior Advocate of Nigeria), had earlier told NEXT that "the court determined that the matter is not justifiable before it, hence there is no more case and the candidate can head on to commence his campaigns for the election."

Aliyu Yakubu, Counsel to Mr. Ozigbo in his written address during the court proceedings argued that the PDP flagrantly disobeyed a subsisting order made by Aguata High Court in Anambra, barring the conduct of the party's primary to select candidate for the race.

However, Ikwueto countered Yakubu's submission, stating that "the order by the Aguata High Court was a temporary statement that lasted for only seven days which was honoured." Exparte vacated On the initial exparte ruling by the same court,

Justice Senchi ruled that "the exparte order granted to stop the nomination of Soludo is hereby vacated as the nomination was made before the motion was filed on the 21st of October."

He said that "the court was misled to granting the order based on the available fact presented by the plaintiffs who then showed that the nomination had not been done."

"It is the view of the court that two options are now left to the plaintiffs who can either appeal the ruling or take the matter back to the Anambra High Court that has jurisdiction to hear it,'' he ruled.
