gzendo: Please help ask prof which day exactly we are expecting the list. So that we can just relax and wait for that day rather than getting tensed up everyday. The fact that we are all young is the biggest blessing for this group. If we were all above 60yrs, some persons may have developped serious High BP by now. Help ooo!!
Mr. gzendo: High BP kè? Over this issue kwanu? Haba! But if they had officially informed us of a day it will come out, that would have put so much pressure on them... Because if they don't meet up to the deadline, people would have criticized them much more than a case like this when they haven't made any official pronouncement of what is happening and nobody can hold them to ransome to produce the list at a specific time or date, I guess. smiley

xlyze: I don't know about the quota as per state/region, but my opinion (which may sound selfish..hehe) is that d candidates should be selected based on the best from feilds of study. Because I thought that was d idea initially. What happens when say, 70 out of the 100 happen to come from the same general field...like engineering. The develpoment is meant to cut across feilds ain't it?? I don't see a reason why O level results shld come into it anyways.
Candid advice to u my dear friends, don't let pressid stop you from making d necessary decisions to move u further in ur careers. Cheers and happy new month!
Thanks... PRESSID shouldn't stop anybody who wants to move further from doing so... Anyone (me included) who doesn't make the list should learn whatever that can be learnt from the experience & have a good spirit of sportsmanship, and anyone who makes it should feel fortunate & be grateful & ready for new challenges. Having said that, I agree with your stance about selecting the best from each of the 6 fields or areas of specialization if their plan is to develop manpower in all the fields... Either way (general merit or field-based merit) it will favour some people to use one method more than the other... I guess that is how life is anyway...

Nanaiky: Hi guyz,hd to join nland cos of ds thread...amazing though....i guess d suspense is particularly high for southerners......but regrdless of the anxiety,..u guyz sim calm about it,guess u ad 70 and above...ad 65 frm Lagos...and really dnt knw wat to xpect...wish evri1 da best
Mr. Nanaiky: Welcome sir. Àwa t' èkó, arómisá lègbe lègbe!...lol... cheesy
...It's not having above 70 in that test that would make anybody that is calm right now to be calm, someone can have 95 and still be very worried (although I exaggerated with respect to the score, the person's worry may be for a different reason from that of someone that scored fifty-something or sixty-something)... I think being calm is much more about an individual's approach to life... I mean perceiving life realistically & not taking life too hard... Taking life easy (although not the same as being complacent) and understanding the fact that worry, does not solve any problem or improve the situation of things...
The chances are higher that more interested people will get to know about this thread if the discussion continues (at least, for as long as necessary) and the thread is kept alive with fresh posts & updates. Thanks to you all who have posted so far and have contributed to this interesting interaction even when you should be worried... I doff my hat for una o... LoL... cheesy

whizkidy: don't worry guys , by the time all 100 names comes from a region, the president will be under pressure to sponsor all of us. LOL
I don't think all the 100 names would come from a region, but if that should happen, "the noise & pressure go plenty so tey, the man sef go weak"...Remember that the "grumbling" that even the shortlist which was claimed to be quota-free generated, was quite substantial & noticeable. This is understandable considering the fact that this is Nigeria, where, I think, merit is not something that is much believed in. Typically, merit is not a priority for most Nigerians (my personal generalized assumption). It's just not our way of life here. cheesy
Nice comments so far!
Just got 2 know about this thread & itz really exciting 2 see like-minds getting along well.
I was fortunate 2b wit Prof. Okogie sometimes last week & he clearly stated dat d selection process was 30% 4rm SSCE result & 70% 4rm d apt test. D list submitted 2d presidency comprised 25% on merit list(as in, best 25 scores) & 75% based on quota system(2 best 4rm each state). I guess everything shud have been sorted out if not dat d Presidency rejected d list & sed no sentiments shud be used in d selection process. I must confess, dis has increased my admiration 4d president; standing by his words.
From d 1st list submitted, I was told about 60% were 4rm d South West & South South, even wit d quota system used. I can only imagine how many percentage would come from same region wit d President's stance.
Gudluck 2 all candidates sha!
Mr. Immortal: Nice piece of information. Thanks.
It was made clear by the president from the onset that "THIS SCHEME IS NOT ABOUT QUOTA", except that wasn't well understood by the committee, I don't even understand why they introduced quota into the selection process in the first place. There should have been no need for the president's rejection or any other of such controversies if the rules, regulations, instructions etc. were strictly followed and not contravened in any way. Please, don't get me wrong, I don't even know the one that would favour me most between using a criteria based on quota or a quota-free one. Notwithstanding I believe more in merit, even if it is the use of merit that would prevent me from making the list, I don't mind (I honestly mean this). "If you don't stand for something, you may fall for anything". MERIT IS WHAT I STAND FOR. Anyone who believes more in quota also has a right to believe in that.

pearlAdams: As much as ur argument is reasonable, we all r tired of views n opinions rite nw. We jst want to see a list frm NUC. Shikena!!!
Mr. PearlADAMS: This one you also just expressed is also a view or opinion (specifically, your own). I guess it would have been more correct for you to say: "I am tired of views and opinions right now", You can't really talk for everyone else or be sure of their feelings, you can only be sure of your own. As much as I respect your right to your own opinion, I believe it is appropriate for you also, to respect the right that other people have to their own opinion as well. I think there is freedom of speech or expression in this forum (at least within an acceptable range). "Nairaland never complain sey dem pages don dey overused. Na people get dem money wey dem take dey browse". You also have a right to ignore what you don't want to read or see or not visit at all. People should be allowed to express their opinions, how long do we have left to spend here anyway before people find their "square root"?. All these I've just expressed is just my opinion anyway (I guess I'm entitled to mine). Thanks

whizkidy: you can never tell my dear. You can try and google PRESSID and you'll be surprised that this thread will be on the front page. Though there is less likelihood that they would do that. But I can assure you they have an agent here on nairaland.
Yeah, If one searches for the most updated information(news sorted by date) on the net using a key word such as "pressid scholarship" on google or other search engines, it may lead here because we have been talking here almost on a daily basis about Pressid because of the interest we have in it, regular news websites can't discuss pressid on a daily basis, They can't be interested in that, they'll only report the landmark events about it...
But as for me, whether they see what we post or have an agent here or not is not my major interest for coming here, but the opportunity that a forum like this provides for interaction with other people with like interests on this topic to share views on issues and share information as well and other benefits that an interaction of this nature can provide. In my own opinion, the purpose of our interaction here is not only just for them to see! (it's just my opinion, I could be wrong anyway)

alikwaghe01: I also sent the same mail while applying. This was the reply: FC and NUC will secure an admission for each of the successful candidate.
Mr. alikwaghe01: Thanks for informing us about the reply you got as well. It shows that anything is possible & keeps our minds open to every possibility, We'll see how it goes at the end of the day & I also believe in the saying: "when we get to that bridge, we'll cross it".

Sayo14: Fellow compatriots! As much as I appreciate ur informative natures, I think we tend to be generating too much questions that are escalating our worries about the success of the scheme...rather, I`m of the opinion that we need to easen the tension that has accommodated our hearts at this point in time....For those who will eventually be selected , I`m pertinent that things will definitely sort themselves out when the time comes...Lets keep our fingers crossed...It will be well....

whizkidy: Well I sent an e mail to the mail dropped for enquiries while applying and this was the reply I got "its your responsibility to secure admission into the top 25 schools" hope this helps
Mr. Whizkidy: Thanks for the clarification. But if this is the case, it will lead to questions like: Is an awardee supposed to have applied for, and secured admission before the scholarship would be granted & the money then allocated? Or is it after the scholarship is granted that the awardee would then apply for admission with the scholarship money or grant? And on a very realistic note, if the awardee fails to secure admission on his/her first try, what then happens to the scholarship? Because admission is always a possibility and very conditional, but hardly ever automatic, as an applicant will get admission if & only if...
(especially when they've stated that: "it's your responsibility to secure admission into the top 25 schools".) #Just asking... *Thinking*
EducationRe: Pressid Scholarship Aptitude Test Scores - First Class Graduates by PhatIon: 11:41pm On Sep 01, 2012
GiantParrot: I just joined this forum after observing the comments on this thread for some time. I must say that I am highly impressed by the comments of people like PhatIon.

I have some questions about this PRESSID though:
1. Is it meant to sponsor the beneficiaries up to PhD level?
2. Who is to pursue the admissions to the 25 schools? is it the candidates, NUC or both?
truz: During the application process, there was a part that said the application was for "MSc to PhD", which means they are sponsoring up to PhD level. This is similar to what President Goodluck Jonathan said when the PRESSID Committee was inaugurated. They also gave an opportunity for First Class Graduates who are already pursuing a Masters Degree to apply.

According to this link: http://www.vanguardngr.com/2012/05/jonathan-inaugurates-scholarship-scheme-for-first-class-graduates/, the President said:

"The ministry of education and this committee will have to travel to these universities to negotiate for positions in the top 25 universities in the world. The idea is: for you to benefit, you must have a first class. It is based purely on merit, no quota. We are giving opportunity for best brains."

I don't know how feasible getting admissions for the successful candidates will be, but that is what Mr President insinuated. You can make whatever conclusions you want to make from his statements, but I think the admission process (i.e application for admission) should be done by the candidates. This is just my opinion, I may be wrong.
Mr. GiantParrot: I feel so flattered that you specifically mentioned me as an example (of those that impressed you), but I don't want or like to take all the credit for all that has happened here, I only joined recently too, but I think everyone that has made a comment here so far, have contributed significantly to keep this thread alive, Therefore, I'm grateful to everyone. But thanks anyway. smiley
My own answers to your questions are:
1. Yes, PRESSID is undoubtedly meant to sponsor the beneficiaries up to Ph.D level, my answer is based on the idea or purpose or plan of the scheme
2. Who is to pursue the admissions to the 25 schools? is it the candidates, NUC or both? From the president's speech as quoted by Truz, "this committee will have to travel to these universities to negotiate for positions in the top 25 universities in the world" this seems to insinuate that "positions" would have been negotiated before now, but my only question about this is: do "positions" and "admissions" mean the same thing? especially as NUC, to the best of my knowledge has not specifically mentioned anything about the procedure for securing admission into the 25 universities except informing applicants through the application advertisement that universities in the US require GRE for admission but were silent on the requirements of universities in other countries? Did they negotiate a waiver for the others except those of the US? At what time should application for admission be done and would NUC do it on behalf of it's scholars? Questions about admission and timing are some of the most serious ones that most candidates of this scheme would be asking right now, I guess.
Mr Truz, thanks for the reference. I also think that individual applications by the applicants may be the most realistic and that may be what'll happen eventually (I may be wrong too) except NUC have other plans in stock.
EducationRe: Pressid Scholarship Aptitude Test Scores - First Class Graduates by PhatIon:
truz: That's nice. Congrats to all those who made it. But Kano State also had their own method of selection. I think the candidates were interviewed or something, cos someone I know went for the selection process.
whizkidy: the most important thing is that their list was published today in the dailies and their award letter given to them also today. In his speech the governor said they've already made contact with the embassy to get their visas as soon as possible and that they will all depart for their respective destinations at once. In his words" we are going to use an aircraft to convey all of you to lagos and from their to your respective destinations". Common transport fare PRESSID cannot give us.*SMH*
If I want to make a little comparison between the two foreign scholarships(KANO & PRESSID), what I'll say is that: With respect to similarities, both of them are quite new, aimed at developing manpower & human resources, both used one form of criteria or the other for their selection processes etc. But they differ greatly because, while the sponsors of one(KANO state), despite being just a subset of the sponsors of the other one(FG) is sponsoring 500 graduates, the other one(FG) is sponsoring 100 graduates. Also, While one(KANO) seems to have made better plans for flights, visas etc. and other welfare considerations, candidates of the other one(PRESSID) were not even given transport fares for the test they travelled to attend or any other welfare consideration so far & are not even sure *and are left scratching their heads* about whether or not any arrangements have been made about placements, flights, visas etc. And more importantly(at least for now), while one(KANO) has completed the selection process & has awarded the scholarships without much ado or fuss despite awarding more scholarships, the other one (PRESSID) even with all the fuss, news, noise etc. generated about it, is yet to complete its selection process let alone award the fewer scholarships it plans to award... The list goes on & on. I don't like making comparisons, but it sometimes teaches someone to appreciate some things that has been done. WELL DONE KANO STATE.
@ Logobon 72, I initiated this thread out of curiosity. I was a bit restless afta d test 2 know d outcome of this screening exercise.
I think if any other criteria is used aside the Chams conducted test. Then NUC have failed the President and the entire Nigerians.
To start with, I had to travel to Abuja all because of this test, risking my life on those Nigerians roads, ( please as a consolation, Transport fares should be available for all takers of the tests at the venue). Please for those of us that have connections with NUC tell them that if they actually want to use other criteria, the test should be conducted in the 6 geo-political zones, with WAEC results, CGPA taken into accounts with the aptitude tests results next year.
Please for transparency and clarity, NUC should publish the names of first set of graduates that fall within d Upper percentile.
PLEASE TELL THE EMINENT PROFESSORS, 'WE KNOW THEY HAVE KNOWLEDGE, LET THEM APPLY WISDOM' IF THEY LACK, TELL THEM TO CONTACT THE FOUNTAIN OF WISDOM. I KNOW HE WILL SURE GIVE - book of Proverbs.
Pls for those that cares, I scored 50%
...Mr. Kwesi-Boadu, I appreciate your initiative of starting this thread, may God bless you... As for consolation, I believe that they should have made provisions for the cost of transportation & maybe accommodation & inconvenience allowance as well, for inviting people living in various states of the federation to write a test in the capital, Abuja (where life is quite expensive). These are even things they ought to have rightfully done & I don't want to describe them as consolation, the real consolation as I've described earlier should have been a full (all-expenses-paid) local scholarship in any Nigerian university of their choice for those who eventually don't make the list of 100 and don't mind doing their postgraduate programme in Nigeria at the expense of the federal government without having to spend a kobo of their own money on forms, fees, projects, books, maintenance allowance etc...
...As for criteria, I think any criteria to be used should be one that is indicative of a graduate's quality in his/her current field (the fact that someone had A1 in his maths WAEC result does not mean that he is still an excellent mathematician, I, for example had A1 in maths but had to "rack" my brain on some simple maths questions during the test & couldn't solve them as quickly as the time constraint necessitated & wasn't as sharp as a good mathematician should be with the maths questions because I'm now a Biologist, my maths is now rusty & no longer as good as it was when I wrote WAEC because the course I studied in the university isn't mathematical. But yet, I didn't have A1 in Biology in my WAEC result, but I'm now an excellent biologist as my University result indicates. All these show that WAEC results may just not be the best yardstick to be used to judge a graduate's current quality in a field or subject. I know people that were just average or thereabout while in secondary school, but became excellent in the university & vice versa) or better still, they should make provision for all of those qualified, these people are very valuable human resources for God's sake!

pink boi: well am stiil tryin to understand the relationship btw GEJ sayin even if d those shortlisted re frm same state it dont matter nd nuc bein @ logger head as to d selection criterial n d use of olevl. I tot dat was d initial rule...was nuc tryin to contradict d rule of merit?... Hmmm...*thinkin*
...This is a brilliant observation... If the GEJ-rejection story is true, it obviously shows that there was a compromise of merit somewhere, because the president made it clear from the start that this scheme was not about quota but purely based on merit, meaning that any criteria used, has to be quota-free, it's only if this simple rule was not followed in making the list in the first place that would have led to the president's rejection. Did NUC or the committee finally succumb to the federal character or quota pressure in making the list they allegedly submitted? Despite being bold enough to make a shortlist that wasn't quota or federal character sensitive? Despite not being afraid to publish the shortlist state by state to make the lack of quota obvious? Did NUC finally compromise or bow to quota pressure? ...Sometimes, there are more questions than answers...

idmanzik: The info on GEJ rejecting the initial list is correct. I was at NUC on Monday and heard a Head of Department saying that the President even insisted that if two or three candidates from the same family is among the top 100 then so be it.

Well, congrats to you all. I have been following this thread even though i am not a first class graduate smiley
Mr. Idmanzik: I really appreciate people like you; who look at life objectively, don't think that other people's success is a threat to them, who do not even mind assisting or encouraging other's success and who would not try to undermine first class honours degree holders because they're not, but actually appreciate them and wish them well. I didn't know you before now, but I believe that you have a great potential for success in you by virtue of the fact that you're not angry about other people's success. Like I said previously, I didn't know you before now, notwithstanding I have one great prayer for you straight from my heart, it is: MAY GOD BLESS YOU AND MAKE YOU VERY SUCCESSFUL WITH WHATEVER CLASS OF DEGREE YOU GRADUATED WITH (AMEN).

On a more serious note, I agree with, I've had, and still have this same opinion of yours and also agree with some of the things that the other wonderful people here have posted on this issue. May God bless you all. But this just re-emphasizes the fact that we still have a long way to go in this country. This relationship probably started with the impression that "they are different" but it's beginning to look like "they are just the same". I guess we probably can't completely eliminate the "Nigerian factor" when anything is to be done by Nigerians or in Nigeria. whizkidy: Guys information reaching me just now from a staff is that they've been at logger heads on the criteria to be used. That while some were advocating for selection on a state basis others disagreed. But at as close of today they've concluded to introduce waec result. Your best 5 subjects will be selected A1 carries 6 points, B2 5pts, B3 4pts in that order. overall the highest point will be 30pts and that's if one have 5 A1's. Although the contacts said the argument still continues but as at the close of work today, that was their resolve.
@whizkidy: Nice piece of information, well done sir. I think NUC would have made life easier for themselves if they had good foresight to envisage possibilities like these, even before the test and consequently plan & set a well defined criteria beforehand that would prevent them from having any "selection headache" at a time like this, especially if they had publicized the criteria even before the exam for everyone to know, which would prevent them from being accused of any form of "foul play" or favouritism. If the idea of using WAEC result is true, it may favour some people, but for some of us that attended public secondary schools in Lagos where scoring As seemed to be very elusive then, we may not be as lucky. My WAEC result was B averagely for the five relevant subjects, but I had A1 in mathematics sha... *nods head proudly like an Agama lizard* (although I'm now a biologist)... even with that single A1, my result was like one of the best ever in my school... can you see how life is? When people that attended other schools, private schools especially, had parallel As, 8A1s, 7A1s etc... It's all good sha, In the spirit of good sportsmanship I wish those that went to schools that produced many As in their WAEC result all the best..."no be them send me message to go the kain school wey I go"...lol... "If to say na me the criteria favour, me sef for happy" cheesy But wait oh, whizkidy, the best "scored" 5 subjects or the 5 relevant subjects? I guess they mean 2 different things, Which one? I'm also interested in the source of the information and also want to know if the area of specialization will not matter & if all the best or top 100 scorers turn out to be engineers for example, or if it skews too much towards an area and the other areas of specialization have little or none, will that not affect the purpose of the scheme which I guess is to develop manpower in the 5 areas of specialization (or thereabout)?

I'm also still at a loss on the "real" criteria they used to make that shortlist and also seriously doubt that NUC stuck to the previously stated criteria in the advertisement of the application (and I expressed my surprise about some criteria alteration, with respect to NYSC completion, graduates of foreign universities etc., in a previous post I made), but I guess that all the shortlisted graduates are first class honours degree holders, and for that reason, I don't mind if the criteria is made to accommodate more of them. Although some of us that are qualified based on the initial criteria may think that including graduates from previous years may lead to stiffer competition, but I maintain my stand that they are also fellow nigerians whose welfare should also be taken care of by the government... What has the Nigerian government done over the years to encourage first class graduates anyway? Although "bending and stretching" of criteria naturally leads to the NUC being suspected of doing some sort of "mago mago", but I know that I didn't lobby anywhere before I got shortlisted. I was qualified, I applied & was shortlisted and, to the best of my knowledge, it's the same story for the other people I know that applied and were shortlisted... Maybe we should reduce our suspicion & give NUC a "benefit of doubt" till the list is out... Although I still see no reason why the whole of Nigeria can't grant 449 scholarships... I read in the news just few hours ago that Kano state is granting 500 foreign scholarships to its indigenes, consisting of both first class and second class honours (upper division) degree holders... May God help us in this country. God bless Nigeria!. Goodluck to you, to me & everybody ...lol... smiley

Although I'm still very single, I'm happily single and I'm happy with my marital status for now and I want to remain happily single till I'm ready and old enough to bear relationship palaver...lol... I'm still too young to play with my "heart" and expose it to any damage ...lol... PRESSID all the way smiley

ijanarado: Well, I'm from Anambra. D̶̲̥̅̊ most populated in South East scoring 68 oooo. Na God go hear my cry
I may be wrong, but I think you may be the lady I spoke with for sometime while waiting for the score SMS after the test, in front of the test venue who told me she scored 68 after receiving her score SMS. Although I didn't know her name & she didn't know mine, we only exchanged information related to PRESSID, I told her my discipline, university etc. and she also told me hers, my priority that day was just PRESSID matters & not really much of socializing...lol... cheesy, but it may just be a coincidence that you have some similarities anyway. But my "educated guesses" are sometimes correct. Let me know if I'm lucky this time or not...lol...

@ijanarado: Nice piece of information,... This "kinda" confirmed my feeling that there may be something more to the delay of the list that we probably didn't know or understand... So, any other person who gets a reply from NUC or any other fresh piece of authentic information should please, endeavour to post it here in order to keep us updated. It'll be greatly appreciated. Well done Mr. Ijanarado, keep it up sir.

ayamolowo: was having a serious stomach pain during the test, could only attempt 50 and I scored 35.Guyz, what is my fate?
@ayamolowo: I'm so sorry to hear that, I sympathize with you a lot because it could have happened to anybody, I'm actually one of those that believe that a single exam is not enough to test people's wisdom, knowledge, ability, aptitude etc. because I believe it takes a series of different exams over a longer period of time than a day to test people's real wisdom, knowledge, ability, aptitude etc. a single exam especially when it involves random questions that are not from one's field may also test few of these skills, but requires much more of being lucky or fortunate, how favourable the questions are to someone based on one's experience, being in a good state of mind & body etc. and several other factors... So, I understand, even if some naive people won't... 35 out of 50 is like 70% accuracy which is not very bad for a proportion (of the number you were able to attempt) & shows that the pain affected your speed much more than your accuracy. ...About your fate, it depends on the general performance & the selection criteria used(that is if it will be based on the general performance or on the performance of those in your area of specialization) and almost everybody that did the test can't independently verify or know these statistics because we don't all know what every other person that did the test scored, but those at NUC will surely know, so I think everybody can still keep hoping till the list is out... If you think your situation is bad, it may surprise you to know that others situation may be worse... How are we even sure that they will not even shortlist more than the 100 for another interview or another phase before the final selection is done? Take care sir. Let us all be hopeful and have faith.

whizkidy: same here my brother. For the past two weeks they've not been replying their mail. Its obvious they are manipulating that list. Knowing fully well that most schools will be resuming by second week in september. I wonder when we are going to get it right in this country. Just to select 100 candidates, a selection that ought to have been made public immediately after the exam if they are sincere.
@whizkidy: As for me, I can't say for now whether they're manipulating or plan to manipulate, because there is no evidence yet but just suspicion. But I also think the list ought to have been released by now to prevent them being suspected or accused of manipulation. But I think there might be something about this whole thing that we probably never knew or don't understand because more unaswered questions keep on coming to people's minds daily. And their sincerity is becoming increasingly questionable. May God help us.

pearlAdams: Nigeria had sponsored a reasonable number of ex-militants abroad 4 trainnin(despite d havoc de caused), yet find it dificult to sponsor jst 499 Erudite n promisin young men n women. It won't take me 24hrs, workin alone, to select 100 candidates no matter d criteria for selection. Its over 2wks n Julius(prof) and his committee r yet to mak a decision hmmmmm.de no longer reply mails...any body wit Prof's numba?mayb we nid to start callin..lol
Well said. Adams, I agree with you. I also see no reason why they can't grant the scholarship to all the 449 graduates that qualified for it, but if they have to select just 100, I see no reason why they can't grant the other 349 graduates a full (I mean all-expenses-paid) local scholarship as compensation. All of these will not even cost them up to half... wait o, I'm even still exaggerating... not even up to a quarter of the amount they spend on ex-militants (which I guess, runs into billions of naira) annually, although I'm not against the FG for spending money on them as they are fellow Nigerians who are also entitled to a piece of the national cake, what I have a problem with, is prioritization. I think we should begin to ask ourselves some questions in this country: if it's better for our future to spend a lot of money readily on ex-militants but be reluctant to spend it on first class graduates... and which one is better, between encouraging the youth(or other citizens of this country) to be ex-militants or to be first-class graduates... Between agitation(which may lead to amnesty) and hardwork etc. ... I also think that, irrespective of the criteria to be used for selection, selecting 100 out of 449 shouldn't be too difficult to do and shouldn't take this long to do if they set & follow a well defined criteria. It's sometimes funny how things are done in this country anyway. May God help us
