Yes, you can claim partner points.

both occupations must be on the same list, either MLTSSL or STSOL.

both occupations must be assessed positively by the relevant assessing bodies.

and the partner must take and pass English test (I am not sure of the scores needed now).

how does my wife now assess for Medicine (general practicioner)

Good afternoon house, i was once on this thread and i ask a couple of questions about how to get PR as a social science student and also how to stay back after studies. And somebody suggest i should go for social worker, I have google their salary and is about 41,000,000 AUD per year. I want to ask two questions

1. Will 41,000,000 AUD be enough for my up keep in Aussie and i will still have enough to send home?
2. Can i have more than one job as a social worker in Australia?

Bros check that thing again...41millionAUD a year gives you about 3.5millionAUD a month. Be sure and double check before you make plans oh

Nope, nope.... @ phemmy28 Medicine is the biggest migration headache in existence after LAW in my opinion. ..

I assessed as an Electronic Engineer.. And I can confidently tell you,, going via the Engineer's pathway is the best route..... Infact, lets put it this way, the engineer's route is engineered for maximum speed and success... while the medical route is stressful enough to land someone in the hospital grin grin grin grin

I hear you my brother...thanks plenty.

Quick question: do i have to write ielts before doing the EA assessment?

so we have been able to cancel the enrollment and the funds are back in the student account, but still waiting to hear back from them on the deferment issue. Thanks.

Urgent reply needed!!! How do I defer my admission? Sent an email to the school a day before my extension date elapsed. They said they are working on it and would get back to me but still no word and in my student account they have deducted course fees. What to do please...money and admission must not enter voicemail because of DIBP please.

We called them in pretoria yesterday about my wife's visa application. The lady just said they had not yet started processing her application and she would see what they could do but she could not guarantee that the decision would be out in time to meet up with my wife's august 4th extension date. The application was sent on 6th of July though.

No SOA requested but I included landed properties in my application though. Yes, I included my wife in the applicant as dependent, she did medicals n Biometrics etc. No request for English Test result by the embassy wen I applied.

Why these people come talk say make my wife apply first and then when she gets there I apply next. Na wa oh. Thanks bro

Macquarie doesn't require test.

quick question bro: did the embassy ask you for SOA after visa application? Did you apply directly with your wife at the same time? Did the embassy request an english test result. Thanks bruv.

Seriously? Do I sound/look like I'm giving out accommodation? That poster asked for help to settle down in Sydney! And even if I can help with accommodation for very few days, it'd be strictly for a young female, not a freaking couple!!!

Housing in Sydney is extremely expensive as you already know. If you're looking for someone to offer you and your wife a free temporary accommodation, then you're not ready to board that plane next week...

And if your wife is interested in aged care and disability courses, Google is your best friend.

easy...easy...you quick vex oh...nothing wrong with a simple "no" na madam...lol.

God is faithful to HIS words. The wait is finally over.

Medicals: 26th of April.
Application date: 8th of May
Biometrics : 8th of April
School: Macquarie University
Grant: 7th of July
No SOA, No contact by CO

God will surely make way for those still awaiting theirs.

Like really? No SOA how come? Did they ask for english test results, I am assuming Macquarie waived the english test for you also. Congrats again...you should be able to make orientation...nice one.

Lol you all will get yours soonest. Airport was fine, no issues in Lagos airport. Went on a 7 hour flight to Dubai, had a four hour stop over. Left Dubai for Sydney(13hour flight), DIBP at Sydney asked for my yellow card and they asked if I carried anything prohibited and I said no and that was it. Waited for a five hour stop over and left sydney for Wagga Wagga.
Visa grants will roll in this week by his grace. Amen, remember stay hopeful

Nice that you are finally relaxed and relocated. Now to the real order of business abi? Congrats again guy!!!

don't think he will b needing a transit visa unless he's staying a day or two. I do think is intention is not to stay but a way to cut cost, which at times is stressful because it increases flight duration.

But does he now book a flight for southie and try to board directly to southie? Who for the airport wan believe say him wan get connecting flight to australia, you don't buy a ticket to a final destination that you do not have a valid visa to enter. When leaving on south african airline, you have a ticket with aussie destination and an aussie grant to go along with it. But do you take an aussie grant and try boarding a flight with final destination in southie? Reason am.

Is it possible and appropriate to buy airline tickets from:

Lagos (Nigeria) TO Johannesburg (South Africa)
Johannesburg (South Africa) TO Sydney (Australia)

Like buying separately?

Dont think so oh...especially if you do not have a southie visa...you know

Morning guys, i concluded my biometrics yesterday, but I just remembered I didn't upload my dad's( sponsor) passport page during the application, am super scared , hope this won't affect my application

I believe you will be contacted to provide additional information when they need it. On the other hand you can also send it to your agent to add it to the application documents. I do not think that should be a problem.

How about 2years post graduate work permit? And also remember mph is broad. With Mph u can work as epidemiologist, biostatistician, health promotion officer, evinronmental health officer etc. one of these can be on that list.

Quick question: While my wife is doing her MPH, is it possible that she also starts processing PR while studying? Please take into consideration that while I have an engineering degree and experience, she also has a medical degree from ukraine and is younger than me, so more points on the age front to start with and I believe a medical general practicioner will have better chances for state/region nomination. Am I thinking right

Are you currently living in the country?

Stop misinforming people. I am not sure you understand occupational ceiling.

@yeyen004,

Why work with a probability when you have a certainty?

You guys probably think it is that easy working and studying and raising money for school fees. It is doable but at which cost? Why mount unnecessary pressure on yourself when you can make your life easier.

There are many students here who regrets not coming on PR.

Thanks guys for the advice and all. I also think the MPH thing is a waste of money as against going for PR directly. Thing is we are already into it, and since I can still apply for PR from here or over there, and we already have applied for a visa and all. I would want to press on with the student thingy, get a certainty as per getting into the country and then we fit dey push the PR matter. Meanwhile my wife has 40hrs every forthnight to work and then my own na unlimited so na to dey hustle am dey go. E go soft when e go soft my brothers then all men go laugh about the hustle for beginning. I greet you all.
