Culture / Re: John Randle Centre For Yoruba Culture: Noisy And Unapologetically Non-European by phineas: 7:57am On May 01
An interesting example is sheraton hotels land owned by a family that kept it in their generations for profit, and Ayinke house a hospital onated to Lagos state dedicated to women in delivery in lagos named after mobolaji Bank Anthony's mother,Imagine how much sheraton family has made till date, imagi e how many lives Ayinke house has saved.

Till today individuals are not donating such facilities for saving mothers at birth despite the high rate of maternal deaths in Nigeria. However expect that a clown will come one day and say the name is not good enough for some reason.

Yorubas honor the legacy of great people and we don't forget our benefactors

JK Randle like mobolaji bank Anthony and other old money of their era bequeathed landed property and facilities to the Goverment, many of which we still use today.I believe that land is one of those donated by JK Randle, the famous hospital in surgery also should be one, they could have given them to their children and the value would ensure their generations to come are never poor.

It is only right to honor their contribution and legacy by rightfully acknowledging their names so a generation will not come and say who is JK Randle on the same property. At least now you all know

Health / Re: "Accelerating The Fight Against Malaria For A More Equitable World" by phineas: 9:41am On Apr 25
Malaria,

The reason West Africa was not overrun and taken over completely by the colonizers,it was called the white mans grave for a reason. Have you seen a foreigner fall ill with malaria symptoms, its scary for them and the symptoms are worse

My opinion, our resistance to malaria endemicity took years of evolution for our race, blacks routinely go about with some level of malaria in their system and fall ill when the parasite load is higher than usual.

We need to know that attempts to rid us of this biological advantage will work long term,so we do not make ourselves susceptible at a large scale than before,Imagine malaria as a new covid

2ndly is it actually in our interest as a race to loose this biological advantage that makes our terrain unhabitable to others that are more advanced than we are on a large scale, let us all remember the part of our history where malaria was a large portion of why West African Invaders could not stay back. Should we perhaps look at other strategies to save our people from malaria deaths, such as strengthening early diagnosiis and early treatment to prevent deaths accrued to the disease amongst many others

There is always more than one way to skin a cat,National Interest is to put the Nation and its furture today and always first in all decision making,
Religion / Re: Chris Oyakhilome's Malaria Vaccine Conspiracy Theories By BBC by phineas: 6:55am On Apr 22
My own take on this is different

1. Can we really eradicate malaria form west Africa

2. If we successfully do this, what will happen next

3.The only reason the region was not run over by other more advanced tribes is why it's called the white man's grave... go figure....

Africa lived with and increased its population despite the scourge of malaria,we had local herbs that we knew well in every household thatworked, today we rely entirely on china nd India to help us treat malaria,it's interesting watching the same Africa eradicate a biological advantage garnered over centuries,

While it's true there are new advances on vaccination and all that,my thoughts are we must weigh this matter carefully for the sake of future generations.

Didn't know Nigeria still has this calibre of erudite judges.
The verdict is on point.
With the kinds of nonsensical rulings judges in the appeal and even SC are delivering, this judge is being wasted at the the level he is.
The only area of disagreement I find with the judge is that he may have considered the state of mind of the parents for him to have been a bit soft on them.
The parents negligence was largely to blame for their son's death and their actions of deception and intimidation on SM has left 5 innocent kids probably traumatized for life.
Who is going to compensate the 5 kids alive for the enormous psychological trauma the accusations of oromini's parents has made them go through?
P.S,Falana is a disgrace.
Instead of accepting this well thought out judgement,he is disgracing himself by finding childish issues with the judgement.
Falana is just like SERAP:they always want to stay relevant and important for clients by making all sorts of silly noises and bringing up laughable issues and cases.

My heart goes out to the young boys who were wrongly accused and bullied on this boys case.
May they find strength to put what happened aside and move on.

May God strengthen the 5 boys wrongly accused of murder, let us all remember they spent a few days in detention over the christmass period, the fear and terror they must have faced, and sadly we all knew that they were safer in prison then than in their homes

All because of a father that failed in his responsibilities as a father

May God strengthen those boys and I pray their future turns out brighter through this adversity

Education / Re: Parents, Doctors' Negligence contributed to Sylvester Oromoni's Death - Coroner by phineas: 8:47am On Apr 16
The crux of the fathers denial at this stage appears to be based mainly on the black substance found In the late boys belly. He insuniates it's from some substance he was made to drink at the time of the suspected bullying incidence

It is important for everyone to note that the stomach is cleared of anything eaten within 24hrs, so this so called black substance over a week, even 2 weeks in the late boys belly way after the purported incidence cannot be what they swallowed

2.Dying people say a lot of untrue stuff, due to low oxygen to the brain, you can all read up delirium before deaths.... in this particular case the autopsy showed low oxygen to his brain, apart from widespread sepsis in his body which also causes low oxygen to the body,so how did the country take those statements as the clear evidence of guilt of 5 boys, some who were not even where he said they were at

3.Public lynching on social media must stop, especially in this case where they are children, the child rights act must be drought to full use as example here, anyone saying crap about those boys must be made to face the full weight of the law,

I understand and commend greatly the silence of the parents of the dowen 5,it must not have been easy but they held their peace,I assume it was in honor of the late boy and the grief of the late boys father,as such it is the duty of the state, now that this judgement has been pronounced to protect those boys from the mob, everyone that drags them now outside a court of appeal must face the wrath of the law, that's how and why we are not animals

Lastly let us all remember the person primarily responsible for the death of this boy is his father.the buck stopped with him,and he made the call to allow a child die of sepsis( widespread infection ) without treatment in this day and age and that is the crux of the matter

Does anyone probe their returns in Nigeria, looks to me like a neat way to sell more equity to its foreign base, while avoiding paying taxes

Plus is the loss from lack of sales or from dollar exchange losses in their forex value,if their sales and bussiness had always been in Naira and they increased value of goods in Naira which Nigerians bought nevertheless, what really happened

Lastly let's even check to see how much company tax they had been paying hitherto

Nigeria has one of the highest buying population anywhere around, the question should be who is checking the records of the companies declaring losses, our taxes from sales should be enough to run the country if properly harnessed

This is not well thought out.No person or country thrives by excluding itself from global conversations especially in this day and age

There are meetings every month, even week that Nigeria has to be at.Its where global lobbying takes place and drives opportunity and partnerships that brings the much needed forex into the country

Nigeria needs to reduce the number of persons per meeting to a maximum that is a manageable figure and insist on each trip been reported with actual results achieved.

And lastly they should only restrict Goverment sponsored meetings because travels are also sponsored by third parties working with Goverment

Implementation?

Forget bro.

The fact he even decided to do this without any prompting shows it came from his heart, and it will definitely be implemented.

Our job as workers in these companies is to be whistle blowers when they flout the new regulations. The govt will take it from there.

That's true we will whistle blow name and all for other companies sef,not just our own offices

They should please make sure they implement this and create a method to check that companies comply.

"I emphasised that we are not yet at a place for such an agreement and that even if are to enjoy reciprocity with the UK (which is not an acceptable position), the knowledge and skills gap is so wide that we cannot favourably compete with the lawyers from the UK."

How then do you intend to close the knowledge and skills gap if you are totally rejecting an avenue that would possibly allow our lawyers to work together with, and learn from, those who possess the requisite knowledge and skills?

Who should be learning from whom as per Nigerian law?

If uk needs to traverse the intricacies of our court or legal system they should hire a Nigerian firm or lawyer, simple. You are suggesting a system that will make our lawyers employees of top UK firms in the future in their own country.

With our craze for everything forieign and names who will hire a competent local firm above a foreign firm with liscence to practice in country

This one was stupid and if in truth the AG was not consulted the initiator should be sacked and tried in court

Back to that verse in scriptures, women and men's clothes have changes over the years and with every culture. The Scottish kilts which is a sign of a strong man will be called a mini skirt in another culture

The urobo long wrappings (don't know what it's called) will be called a woman's wrapper in another culture

That verse says men should not dress like women and women shouldn't dress like men, sounds like them cross dressers to me.

Every man should do what his conscience frees him to,but to those raised with this mentality...your parents did not help your global view,to perpetuate it and judge others accordingly, now that is even worse
Religion / Re: CAC Members Join The Tiktok Challenge (Video) by phineas: 9:12am On Jan 07
They have said in their space they don't where trousers,we have heard, and everyone should respect their space

The problem is when they bring their own rules and regulations and add it as a condition for the salvation of the souls of men to be complete, as if its a companion prerequisite to the blood of the lamb all Christians believe in. THAT THERE IS A VERY BIG PROBLEM.

When others go as far condemning those who where trousers, then they make themselves principalities doing the devils work, as in "accusing the brethren day and night"

Sufficient for each day is each days worries, you all remove what others eat, or drink, (strong Jewish rules by the way)those are not the things that defile a man. Guess what defiles a man
