The conversation at the end of the day is simple, For reasons best known to them, gsk prefers to produce outside Nigeria and have Nigerians (who compose a large part of their market) import their products.I won't be surprised to see them set shop in some cheap ass west african country, ready to exploit the ecowas trade agreements The soultion again, find quickly, effective alternatives for all their products(they exist), flood the market with it at an affordable landing cost ,and pass policies to restrict gsk products in Nigeria They have shown an anti people attitude to a country that embraced their products wholeheartedly, they pulled that stunt cos they knew nothing would happen, that Nigerians would still buy at 10 times the price and what do they loose?absolutely nothing. And that there is the real problem. |
In summary gsk moved production to another country try cos production costs were high They could have increased their sales cost by 100% but they chose the cowards way out ,let the importers increase their goods to x10 the former price, they don't care cos Nigerians will buy anyway The trick is to understand how gsk appears to think, they know Nigerians will buy regardless of the price,so they export to us instead of adjusting sales cost I think the country should quickly fund or mass import good alternatives and ban all gsk products in Nigeria, Their sales from Nigeria is more than a lot of countries combined |
Malawi is a joke |
oyatz:Eyo in appearance as always been in ogun state.not sure if its called eyo though |
Kudos to all the yourba historians here taking time to address this, may your land and children honour you as well. |
The man needs help with his priorities, what's his bussiness with other peoples clothing? Ministers for that matter, his type should not speak in public,he is an embarrassment to the nation in this day and age.No one should give him any position or anything abeg. I like that one man opposition squad phrase. He is the real one man opposition squad. Irrelevant nonetity |
I remember when this case first became public,Nigerians then advised Nigeria to settle out of court for a negotiated amount That's the reason for this speech I guess |
These are vile comments from vile spirits and trolls.May God grant her mother strength to bear the loss. As for trolls that throw stones today at the woman for the loss of her child...it is against the way of nature, and they are careless words that you have all sown today.careless words Indeed. Since you do not fear the repercussions of time, let us leave you and your vile hearts in the hands of time, they say it teaches lessons.hopefully you all get to learn |
This man should be careful in speech,he should talk less or better talk more on his results... we Know he is dedicated and capable but he needs to be careful. That said he should please address the issue of Nigerians in african prisons over business related issues( not fraud),and there deliberate non visa issuance to Nigerian expatriates, while a lot of them work here with no Inhibitions whatsoever. He should get us a toll free line to report when their visa expires by a day so we have people to arrest in a prisoner swap program for Nigerians with the same issue in their country. Lastly in the spirit of reciprocity, create a platform to document african maltreatment of genuine Nigerian expatriates and business men and start to address it with reciprocal policies |
Just for the record, every one with an SSN has a file on them by the fbi,it can be requested for under the foi. You can request for the file they have on yourself if you want. So having fbi files is actually not a big deal. |
oz4real83:This one like many others do not know what the social register is, I'm not sure where to start, but its safe to say its not what you are describing here, I recommend you start with a google search and look up the agency NASSCO. Every developed country has this sort of register for its poor and vulnerable, we should not criticize its existence in Nigeria but rather strive to improve any weak areas we identify. |
This is long overdue, not just the social register, but every program of social or any other benefit reeled out by the Government, (and they are plenty). A percentage should automatically go to them,( I recommend 10%,) they ''more than'' deserve it. May God bless the minds that promoted this, and the persons that approved it. |
I am so disappointed that majority do not know of Nigerias "stay neutral" foreign policy stance. You all need to study that,it's origins and since when.Thats our foreign policy direction,Nigeria only aligns with interests "its a friends of all policy" we relate well with Russia and the west,Nigeria takes no side as a matter of National policy, regardless of who is in power |
Burna should not have said those words, and definitely not on a global platform.you promote your own no matter what, even if its crap find an angle to promote. This trait he has exhibited is the famous omo ale trait For the record it's the same crap that brought him to limelight. And how many foreign songs have the famous meaning he seeks? Who remembers the first song to hit a million views on YouTube? What meaning or depth did gangam style have? But the world acknowledged that was entertainment at its finest... Nigerian songs have their depth in their own way, their own topics , context and in our language. Burna is a proud nobody, pride goes before a fall, and when they fall its loud.He should ditch that pride and pray not too fall. |
Ekiti an economic team in one sentence.... Can someone help define oxymoron?..... I want to check something. That said,it's not about developing policies,it's about implementing them fast enough to see results and 4 years in that sense is not a very long time.Lets see how the team helps their IGR.Wishing the team best of luck.implementation in the land of those people will not be easy |
France is not a friend of Africa However it is wise for African leaders to be close to them. |
Alaigbopress:Until CNN carry your comments and we all sound like a bunch of "ignamorouses" |
Na wa for the comments o Hope you know that naija warships also pay vists to other countries.... It's a naval thing. Our ships are even on display for people to visit at a certain periods of the year. Why do you all not know this? Why why why...the comments on page 1 are embarrassing (but I know you all play too much). |
Not just beautiful but well mannered, basically calm comportment and polite |
Their son for inauguration was very "on point" the lyrics ......"God of the whole world hallowed be thy name(covers all religions) ......"If you(God) does not build the house the builders ,build in vain ......You are the begining and end send us your help. The cultural troupe on the other hand deserve a warning.... In future someone should vet them first First they portrayed all tribes bowing to a Yoruba king. That was divisive.Imagine if another tribe had been president. Secondly their song at our inauguration...the lyrics say Babalawo I have come to beg 2ce They said I should not use my hand to touch my mouth They said I should not use my leg to touch my mouth I looked back and used my hand and mouth to touch my mouth... The rest of he song is a blur to me....it's a folk song I can't remember much Third put off for the culture troupe for me was dressing and undressing in public glare, they must have been other options...more persons ,a pop up tent for changing with security etc In summary buga was a great improvement from the babalawo song |
Kazaure. Is he not the senator that did "bring your 4 wives to work day" That noted he had 28 kids and was aiming for more as a symbol that he was in charge of his 4 wives or some very immature statement that called his IQ to question while he simultaneously humiliated the women he married. How did he come to lead such a sensitive committee? Talk about square pegs in round holes. |
An on the topic of the roots of Benin.it has been addressed conclusively.Benin draws its roots from Ife. Benin should actually be proud of that association. |
Stoplying:Been uneducated itself is not bad.But when you receive information refusing to ask more and learning more on the topic.Thats something Else entirely that's inexcusable. I'll send you on a a learning trip.Find the most prestigious archeology institutes in the world.Go search their archeology department for their list of present projects.Thats a good place to start. |
Stoplying:The Yoruba people are older, way older than Oyo |
Stoplying:That's how far you know... Ife and aboriginal Yoruba Kings predate Oyo,Benin and many empires put together |
People need to read the scriptures more. There's a place in the old testament where God described how he dressed Israel as of she was a woman. He described placing jewellery either on her nose or so can't remember. The matter of dressing has been ,is and will always be about the culture of the time. Pastors should stop putting obstacles to men reaching God.God himself said it's the innermost parts(thoughts) of a man that defines him. Let everyone watch their hearts. |
Vado2:The fact that an African child write this is deeply disturbing. In view of the fact that history and archaeology clearly documents the existence of 3 oyo kingdoms so far (by location). Each one lesser in might and grandiosity than the previous one.And yes there is still an Oyo kingdom today How do you all not know this? |
Hope you all know that ife has been one of the largest archeological research sites globally in the last 5 years. With its archeological team from the best archeological institutes in the world. The findings so far are deep, very deep. Yoruba civilization at ife is one of the oldest in the world. And they have their history well documented in writing and orally with its findings been corroborated by modern day archeological findings. You can all argue all you want the yorubas as a people do not play ,fight or argue on matters that does not in anyway improve them. Like that saying that "the lion does not concern itself with the opinion of sheep". Here's a tip for you all ...buy land in ife, foreigners are doing so already.by the time those publications are made public after peer review. Ife will be viewed as a holy and revered city that it is globally. Here's a fun fact. The title of Oni historically was that of a priest not a king. The story of the kings of ancient Yoruba is another story entirely ... |
sparko1:I totally agree with you. |
Peter Obi showed a weak character by allowing such negativity to be associated with his campaign without addressing it. He is complicit as even his post election tribunal case which is his justification for rejecting the outcomes of the election was completely designed around character defamation. This shows his first interest was not the preservation of the National image or interests Obidients need to call out the renegades in their rank on such acts and hold them accountable to acting better |
