Today is a remarkable day In history of Nigeria, it's a day Nigeria changed government from one party to another one. It's a day the president, Muhammadu Buhari was sworn in as president. I will like to use this Medium to point out some of his campaign promises I will like him to fulfil. Some of my picks are as follows. Assist Nollywood to fully develop into world class movie industry that can compete effectively with Hollywood and Bollywood in due course. I will support the creative and performing arts with the necessary environment where by our great entertainers do not end their lives in abject poverty as is currently the case. Revive and restructure the Nigerian Football League and put incentives in place to make it as competitive as other national leagues Ban medical tourism by our politicians from May 29, 2015 Provide free ante-natal care for pregnant women; free health care for babies and children up to school going age and for the aged; and free treatment for those afflicted with infectious diseases such as tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS; Establish six centres of excellence to address the needs of special education; Provide One Meal a day for all elementary/primary/Almajiri schools That will create jobs in Agriculture, Catering, and Delivery Services building of up to 6,800km of modern railway completed by 2019 Generate, transmit and distribute electricity on a 24/7 basis whilst simultaneously ensuring the development of sustainable/renewable energy, by 2019. Equate N1.00 to $1.00 Create a Social Welfare Program of at least Five Thousand Naira (N5000) that will cater for the 25 million poorest and most vulnerable citizens upon the demonstration of children’s enrolment in school and evidence of immunisation to help promote family stability. 13. Provide allowances to the discharged but unemployed Youth Corps members for Twelve (12) months while in the skills and entrepreneurial development programmes. Bring permanent peace and solution to the insurgency issues in the North-East; the Niger Delta; and other conflict prone states and areas such as Plateau, Benue, Bauchi, Borno, Abia, Taraba, Yobe, and Kaduna in order to engender national unity and social harmony Initiate policies to ensure that Nigerians are free to live and work in any part of the country by removing state of origin, tribe, ethnic and religious affiliations from documentation requirements in our identification of citizens and replace these with State of Residence and fashion out the appropriate minimal qualification for obtaining such a state of residency, nation-wide. I picked my Honest Expectations From this source. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/05/what-buhari-promised-nigerians/ |

cramjones: Even though I will soon be handing over my Moniker to Berem. CramJones still remains extremely relevant on Nairaland. Most Nairlanders have accused me of attention seeking. False. I have so much to do now that Buhari is in power. I am awaiting my appointment, that would most likely happen, and from then on I will be very busy doing my best to make Nigeria great again.
In the past two weeks 3 of my threads have made it to FrontPage and have each had over 55,000 views. This is unpresendented. Most FT page topics get views in 20 - 30 thousand maximum. Okay I get it, only irrelevant monikers get 55,000 views?? For your information I have enough attention from my family. I dont' need Nairaland for attention. I only need it to advocate for a just, peaceful and a less corrupt Nigeria.
Now haters can go and hug the transformer, that is if their is any light!
-CramJones To be sincere, I never see foolish man like you before. Imagine counting views as achievement. Nonsense. |

Let me tell you i school in the east owerri to be precise and i don't think the current crop of igbo youths are in this with you guys, the heaven on earth you imagine biafra will be is still not feasible, ok c na anambra will hardly marry imo, mbaise will come with their own , my family have completely abandoned my uncle because he married osu, i still visit him play with his kids, me and my siblings/relatives that have sense. go to the village and c obituary you will run and a lot of other issues. I know a lot of people will say they are disappointed dis coming from an Igbo man, be disappointed all you want, but that's the bitter truth, the east shouldn't have participated in the last election if we don't believe in Nigeria, small Nigeria and we can't co-exist peacefully, forgetting that we are all on transit, let's forget about the past and move, let's give peace a chance, let's leave this tribalism crap and move forward and this goes out to every tribe not only igbo . go to the ants. That you can Guide oogle some facts about Igbos doesn't make you an Igbo man. For sure, you're not Igbo person, so get your mouth shut anytime Igbo issue is being discussed. |

I'm very sure this Op meant to spite the governor by this since he's in APC. Pele. It is no news Ortom used to be an Abgero hustling travellers and carrying bags for them. I don't think there's anything wrong in coming from a poor background. What you eventually make of your life is all that matters.

Politics › I Was A Motor Park Tout —benue Gov-elect. by PhockPhockMan(op): 4:16am On May 28, 2015 |
The Benue State incoming Governor, Chief Samuel Ortom, has described his experience as a motor park tout and his election as governor as a divine arrangement and the handiwork of God.
Ortom, who bared his mind to The PUNCH in an exclusive chat in Makurdi, said his elevation from grass to grace was due to hard work and his firm believe in God.
He said, “My journey from being a motor park tout to an elected governor is purely a divine arrangement. I cast my mind back to when I dropped out of school in Form 2 but I remained hardworking and I did not engage in crime to survive.
“One thing I know is that hard work pays and you must keep faith with God; power belongs to God and He alone gives it to whoever He will.”
The former Minister of State for Industry, Trade and Investment said he had dropped out of school in Form 2 due to lack of funds but this did not force him to engage in criminal activities to survive.
Ortom, however, noted that the selection process of the PDP delegates in the last party’s primary in the state was manipulated by the party leadership intentionally to thwart his ambition of becoming the next governor.
He said the party also frustrated the support of the Benue populace who supported him.
He said, “The process of selection of delegates in the last PDP governorship election was manipulated by the leadership of the party to thwart my ambition and frustrate the people who all supported me. But God vindicated me and blessed me, and now I am an elected governor.” http://www.punchng.com/news/i-was-a-motor-park-tout-benue-gov-elect/ |
