Former minister of aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode on Wednesday intensifies his advocacy for a restructuring in Nigeria, while emphasizing that he prays for President Muhammadu Buhari to find crude oil in the northern part of the country in commercial quantities.

*Fani-Kayode
According to Fani-Kayode who strongly holds that the major barrier to ensuring peaceful resolutions on how different ethnic groups in the country co-exist is because the Southern part of Nigeria is the mainstay of its north counterpart.

The truth is, no matter how hard I try, I just don't see it working.

A colleague engaged me at the office two days ago. It was an intelligent engagement, though our discourse was political. He clearly hates Buhari and his policies but he voted for him!

What changed?
Corruption is not the only problem Nigeria is confronted with. We have many issues unattended to and the President is all after corrupt public officials like that's the answer to solving our economic anomaly. Dogara, the number 3 man, and Saraki, the number 2 man, are all roped with corruption charges at the moment. Nothing so far about the girls. Militants grow with each passing day, Fulani herdsmen are kings of the bushes, forests, streets and roads, Buratai, the COAS, has corruption allegations on his neck too. How about the common man?

I might be comfortable and doing well but would most Nigerians say the same? We never bargained for this. This isn't what we asked for. The only reason I'd vote APC in 2019 is IF Fashola is allowed to run. President Buhari is clearly not the answer we seek.

Okay, president Buhari "has no idea what to do", agreed. Now, my question is: kindly suggest one thing he could do to pull us out of the doldrums.

Recession of this nature where your reserve has been drastically depleted and your major forex earner has lost over 50%
of its value is most difficult to surmount.

If you wanna diversify, where do you get the money to do so (remember you need forex to import the equipment for this since they aren't produced locally)?? You wanna export more of your nearly useless forex earner so you can start taking steps towards diversification and some criminals literally make that impossible.

I'm glad you admitted Jonathan wasn't an option no matter what.

Just last year, I joined the many Nigerians who actually thought a dogged fourth time contestants woild be the best thing to happen should Jonathan be kicked. A year after, I have lost my voice around friends and family each time a political discourse comes up, most especially about the state of the economy.

Problems bothering on insecurity, power, state of the economy and corruption have all grown worse than it was under Goodluck Jonathan. Not like Jonathan would have been able to redeem the nation a second time though, and I would have still clearly voted against him if I had caught a glimpse of the anomalies ongoing before hand, but this time, I would have just given my vote to Kowa or Hope.

Without mincing words, Nigeria is presently on autopilot; President Buhari clearly has no idea on what should be done. The BBOG Buhari used as a tool during his campaign have been forgotten, more than ever Fulani herdsmen have been armed and fortified as they impact roads and streets with cow dung and horrible flies. The budget padding saga is still an issue to watch while daily corruption charges hover around the president and his minions.

Just a handful of the many APC faithfuls who are fast realizing that the Change we have is in reverse, it is worthy of note to clearly state that I have lost faith in the Buhari-led administration.

I sincerely hope Kowa would come out stronger with young, vibrant, intelligent and dynamic candidates in 2019.

The Biafrans are not serious. Let all of them pack to the south east then we will take them serious. The idea of Biafra is selfish now as it was in the 60s. It's about the Niger Delta oil. But the Niger Deltans would rather have their own country than become minorities in Igbo Biafra.
Kanu will continue to languish in jail for his stubbornness. Even if he is released he will be re-arrested if he continues his treason.
With these lines, I know you're a kid. Can you tell me how many barrels of oil in production during first attempt at restoring Biafra in 1960s?

APC and blame game is

PoliticsSerious Hunger, Poverty Killing Nigerians – APC Senator, Shehu Sani. by PhockPhockMan(op): 5:06pm On Aug 10, 2016
The senator representing Kaduna Central Senatorial District, Shehu Sani, has said Nigerians are groaning under serious hunger and poverty and therefore unable to meet their basic needs.
He stated this on Sunday during the launch of his interactive forum in Nasarawa, a suburb of Kaduna metropolis.
“We know that Nigerians are facing hunger, no money for school fees and no jobs,” the senator said while addressing the residents of the area during the event tagged “Street Parliament.”
A chieftain of the APC in Kano, Hussaini Mairiga, had recently said President Muhammadu Buhari who assumed power last year had failed because Nigerians were undergoing unprecedented hardship.
Mr. Sani, a member of the ruling All Progressives Congress, however blamed the hardship Nigerians are currently facing on the 16 years of Peoples Democratic Party’s rule.
The lawmaker, who received complaints from residents about the terrible condition of the road leading to the area, poverty, joblessness and lack of portable drinking water, regretted the neglect of the community by government, noting that “it is as if this community is not in Kaduna.”
He however assured the residents that the APC-controlled state government would redress the ugly situation.
“But it is not our (APC) fault. For the past 16 years, the PDP government did not do anything to you, but this present government will do something for your community,” he said.
Mr. Sani also told residents of the area, most of who are former workers of the numerous textile companies in Kaduna that the federal government had earmarked N50 billion to revive the moribund textile industries.
He said during the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan about N70 billion was given to some people he did not name to revive the textile industry but that they squandered the money.
According to him, the current federal administration had already earmarked N50 billion to revive the textile sector. He warned that caution should be taken on how the money would be disbursed so that it would not fall into the wrong hands.
“Now the government has promised to give N50 billion to revive the textile companies. The Governor of Central Bank was the one who said this,” he said.
“A meeting has been held with the textile companies. It is important to ensure that those who were working in the textile should be there when the funds are being released so that the money will not be diverted to other things.

“During the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan, some people collected about N70 billion in the name of reviving the textiles.
“This time around, such mistake must not be repeated, so it is important that people in this community and Kakuri in general, should select representatives to the CBN and request to witness the disbursement of the funds for textile companies.”
Mr. Sani explained that the objectives of the “Street Parliament” was to provide a platform which he and his constituency could interact and share ideas that would bring about development.
He said, “I decided to come to Nasarawa community to launch what I called Street Parliament. I know that you are facing many problems in this community.
“Street Parliament is a new concept of bringing the government closer to the people. It is a concept of reaching out to people and giving the people a platform to talk to their elected representatives.
“Unlike in the past, when you see your elected representatives from a distance or on television screen, now I am introducing this forum to serve as a medium for interaction with you.
“The Street parliament is a new idea aimed at carrying the masses along in the process of law making. It is to afford the people express their feelings, ideas and those things you think should be a priority to those of us in the National Assembly.”

In his reaction, Founder of Oodua Peoples Congress, OPC, Dr. Fedrick Fasheun said he believes no militant will dare the security of Lagos State.

He also said he believes that Lagos State is not sleeping or napping over the security situation in the state.

According to him: “We have waited patiently to confirm the suspicion, whether it is true that militants are building camps in some parts of Lagos and other South-West states. Whether it is true or not, I believe not many dare-devils will live to tell the story if any attempt is made on Lagos”.

We ‘ll make Yorubaland a no go area for militants — Gani Adams

National Coordinator of the OPC, Otunba Gani Adams, has threatened to make Yorubaland a no-go area for militants to perpetuate their nefarious activities.

Adams, who confirmed the setting up of camps by the militants in the Lagos and Ogun axis, said: “I agree with the military that they have different camps but thank God that the military has risen to the task. Also, we as an organisation have decided to complement their efforts.

“Definitely, the militants have invaded the South West but those carrying out these acts are not from Delta or Bayelsa states but from Ondo State. It is a bad signal, I won’t deceive you but I can tell you that they have missed the post. They cannot go scot free because what they are doing in their states cannot be replicated here in the South West. They will retreat because we will not encourage it.

There is no way they can hide in Yoruba land. We have to thank the military for their aerial bombardment because their hideout is not one that can be easily located. The military bombardment has smoked them out”

It shows incompetence, inefficiency of our security agencies – Adebanjo

Chief Ayo Adebanjo said: “How can they set up camps in Lagos and Ogun states? We have no relationship with militants. It shows the inefficiency and incompetence of our security agencies. Given what had been happening in the country, our security people should have been alert to prevent such camps from being set up.”

It’s an attempt to pit Yoruba against Ijaw

Odumakin
Mr Yinka Odumakin said: “The setting up of camps in parts of Lagos and Ogun states by the militants is a strange dimension. Up till now, we see them as criminal elements. We call on the security agencies to deal with them as such. The security agencies should go after their camps and deal with them.

“It is an attempt to pit the Yoruba against the Ijaw because the Ijaw have no cause to attack Yorubaland. We must avoid a situation where ethnic groups will resort to ethnic justice because any attempt to seek ethnic justice always leads to genocide. The security agencies should go after the criminals and deal with them.”
