Travel / Re: 10 Million Naira To Japa Or Business In Nigeria by Phoenixflap: 4:14pm On Jan 17, 2023
bigsam75:
Between investing 10million naira in Nigeria or JAPA with 10M which one is the best?

The state of the economy forced a lot of Nigerians into diversifying income hence the surge in digital and offline skill acquisitions.

But despite the acquired skills, a lot of creative Nigerians still struggle financially.

Without total reliance on the government, the tech industry can bridge the unemployment gap (just like the POS business is helping a lot of Nigerians).

Despite the brilliance and successes shown by creatives and smart entrepreneurs, and also the various government and public support, the unemployment gap is still widening.

For a moment I’ll digress.

Yearly, Nigerians rue their experiences with Ponzi Schemes, and the losses often run in billions of Naira.

This free market for fraudsters can become a lifeline for Nigerians with feasible business ideas upon intense scrutiny

You may be wondering about the correlation between startup funding and Ponzi schemes, but a smart bridge between these industries will curb the menace of Ponzi schemes and provide enough funding for smart business ideas (this is what OSConnect provides).

The illustration below highlights an experience we can relate to;

Ade, the son of a local farmer in Abeokuta is renowned for his storytelling prowess, yet he suffers financially.

An animation series was recommended to him and upon seeing the movie, he rated it lowly, and like the classical Dan Brown’s moment, he visualized a better story but the problem is animating his idea.

His research on the requirements and budget in creating the animation series left him sad.

Despite the brilliance of his proposals no funding opportunities yielded positive results.

He's tired and frustrated and is forced to sell his script for peanuts.

This and many opportunities have been lost to a lack of Funding...

This is the reality of many creatives but my idea affords “Ade” the haven to reap the benefits of his creation without financial burden.

OSConnect, a digital platform that provides;

1. Fertile ground for smart business ideas...

2. Assuages investor's fear (comprehensive 2-stage scrutiny)
3. Curb the menace of Ponzi schemes
4. Provide recurring financial possibilities across the 774 lga.
5. Curb the menace of Idea theft (as prevalent in the crowdfunding industry)...

...
Due to IP theft, the scope of OSConnect is limited but I will clarify any inquiry upon request.

OSConnect needs appropriate funding and your partnership will offer a lifeline to millions of Nigerians.

The earning potential of OSConnect is highly rewarding due to the immense value it will provide.

It is possible to pass memories through genetics.
Like say for example, jerking or hypnic response when dreaming you are falling, it's a survival trait passed by your ancestors because they fall quite often when they sleep.

Or people having dreams they are drowning when they haven't drown before. It's also a memory from your ancestors.

It hasn't been fully confirmed yet.
If behavior can be passed through genetics, so also memories.
The child behaving like his grandad isn't any form of reincarnation, it's his grandad, like the way people walk, talk or laugh like their parents.
You are more likely to take up trait from your grandparents than your parent actually. This is scientifically proven

This is an interesting perspective that aligns with me.

Our gene is an unlimited storage, and guarded like a maze. You must know your way around to get what you want.

I Strongly believe that with the right approach and technique, the hidden memories of the past will be unlocked and the floodgates of answers will tilt Humanity!

Nairaland / General / Bridging The Unemployment Gap Through Creative Collaboration! by Phoenixflap: 8:34am On Sep 19, 2022
Despite its enormous contribution to the economic growth of the country, the creative industry begs for attention and revival.

The smartphone era changed a lot of things, especially how money is made.

Mobile applications now provide immense convenience, and any value-driven mobile application is bound to succeed.

There's a divide in the creative industry and I have a brilliant idea that connects a bridge across the divide.

1. There are lots of people like me who have ideas/Solutions to real life problems but lack the technical expertise and funds to fashion their ideas.
1. There are lots of technical experts who lack the ideas buried in the minds of non-techies.

Due to IP theft, i’d be limiting information here but will oblige further request for more clarification.

My idea provides a haven for creative collaboration, and is highly monetizeable as it provides immense value to the creative industry and the public.

My name is Olanrewaju Sodiq, I seek the creative collaboration of the following experts to create a novel digital platform that’d catapult the Nigerian creative industry and bridge the unemployment gap.

*Web Developer
*Legal Experts (tech)

The partnership I am seeking will be devoid of financial obligations, only technical expertise until the launch of the App.

All participants are major Shareholders in the successful startup.

If this piques your interest as a programmer or Graphics Designer: UI/UX Designer and you reside in Abuja, Nasarawa, I’ll oblige further request for clarification.

Thank you!

Even though I don't understand what an African unicorn is still raising funds for when they can grow organically, I still have to hail them. Growth should be planned so it can be managed effectively. Congratulations, Flutterwave!

Other tech experts should try other areas because fintech is already saturated. Someone should try agriculture - use tech to check the increasing price of agric produce.

How about Lagos traffic? Can we build a tech-powered system that can improve the situation?

There are many problems we can solve with tech. It's either our people are not creative enough or we aren't just thinking.

There’s little hope for startups in Nigeria, and despite the successes of the crowdfunding platform, majority of startup fail to get funding.

Yearly, millions of people globally rue their experiences with Ponzi schemes and investment scams.

2 unrelated problem with a seamless solution!!!

I have the idea, but no support!

Smart Politicians can positively engage the teeming number of unemployed but smart Nigerians through OSCONNECT (a place where the requirement for success is a feasible business idea).

You raised very important concerns.

The cloud of Accountability must hover above all, especially from people saddled with the responsibilities of value provisions.

Reputation is a valuable asset and when cases of negligence and quackery is reported real-time, it’ll help in ensuring justice because of massive public outcry and condemnation.

This case is getting attention because of public outrage and interest and it’ll be difficult to just sweep it under.

Public outcry when amplified can effect a change!

You are right about Nigerians moving on too quickly, but the solution I am proposing is a “sustained outcry” that’ll be detrimental to the elites reputation.

Politics / Re: We Are Not All Gloom And Doom, Are We? - By Femi Adesina by Phoenixflap: 11:47am On Jan 09, 2022

Femi Adesina again shows his immense talent in this remarkable piece; singing praises for the president for travelling abroad, singing praises for the president for disparaging Nigeria'ns' on the global stage for years and not losing an opportunity to show utter derision for the Nigeria people by blatantly assaulting their intelligence as he has always.

The true measure of the success of the president trips would have been who the president was able to convince to come invest in Nigeria or how many jobs for Nigerians such event has led to or is sure to lead to, the true measure of success would be how those trips have translated to an iota of alleviation of the issues confronting the people... The truth is, there are no such true successes, because if there is one, Femi Adesina would not stop suffocating our faces with it.

Femi Adesina however sings praises for the successes of Buhari's merry go rounding all over the world, trips with hundreds of unnecessary protocols, reveling in luxury, expanding the nation's debt. And by singing his praise, much disservice is done to the nation because Buhari thinks by such a trip he has accomplished so much for us to rest and it is such praises and such praise singers that have singularly perhaps become the most prominent clog in the wheel of the progress for this nation under a rather clueless administration.

By surrounding yourself by those quick to praise you for snoring or for farting and are so agreeable that they do not provide counsel or bother to convey reality to the presidency... the president lives in a blunder, a dire misapprehension, hence his cluelessness and hence our suffering.

Education / Re: Anabelle Oromoni, Sylvester's Sister Reacts To Autopsy Results by Phoenixflap: 11:27am On Jan 09, 2022
othermen:
Scientific results can be very prone to manipulation, not only because they require human interpretations, but even more so, because they are based on it.

There are certain procedures and results that are not so much prone, where such inclination is addressed by existing standards, validity and reliability.

But it is not an evidence of naivety if you think that interpretations of such can be very skewed towards the intended purpose of the examiner or the researcher.

It is so as to reduce such skewed interpretations, that seven pathologists with perhaps different or two interests had to probe into his body.

Again, most scientific procedures defers to authority. The ones that didn't, are the remarkable findings, that goes through rigorous and frustrating peer reviews that may sometimes demand decades or 'half of' to become established by the scientific community.

The scientific community has their norms, values and even a collective conscience, that sometimes a deviant finds that the structures can overwhelm if you attempt to dissuade it or persuade its established findings.

Imagine for the purpose of relation or appreciation: that our leading scientists and even the greatest scientists of different ages have built their findings on a certain proposition or assumption, which an emerging scientist have now found as flawed, because of the threat such finding may have to their reputations and life-time work, there might be some hesitancy to the truth; some rigour that will or may truly overwhelm the emerging scientist to lose bearing may even be orchestrated.

Although I have used the word orchestrated, such orchestration that overwhelms, may not be the intent or may be the intent of the agitated.

The medical field have an interest in being perceived as dependable and well-grounded. Cases of false diagnosis, clinical errors, medical negligences are not so much in the interest and so not so much investigated, unless by a resourceful relative or friend to the dead or misdiagnosed... because the effect of such false diagnosis may in addition to death of the victim, lead to withdrawal of such health-care provider license and to the perception of the discipline...so there are often little questions allowed to be asked.

In tertiary hospitals even foremost in the country, you can make a call through to anyone who has lost someone there, they probably weren't even met with sympathy in the relation of their loss, the fellow may not even see anyone to interrogate, and though a report is issued, the reports are so worded that reading it in your state of internal disarray, gives little meaning to settling such disarray. If it gives meaning, it would be to the extent of their callous dismissal, which is intently defensive and strikingly intended to absorb from any suggestion of culpability. And so, many have died, who shouldn't have, but we may not know.

The system however, is not built and made in such a way, that we can probe adequately to understand not just how this is so but if this is so, but it is an hypothesis you can test. In probing, it is the same medical field that is accused that we defer to and the medical field aside its interest in being perceived as dependable and well-grounded, is also skewed by interpretations in relating its suggestion as to the causes of its finding.

Imagine for purpose of relation or appreciation: that I have worked with KPMM for a better part of my life, but my work has affected my health, in such that, my fixation on the computer screen and the lighting of my work station, have now damaged my eyesight.

''My doctor said this may be so. I relate to KPMM my condition and beseech its assistance in redeeming my eyesight which was damaged in its service. KPMM responds and knows such assistance would only lead to endless law suits by its former employees who may cite whatever current health predicament they have as a failure of KPMM to provide a safe work environment.

Aware of such tendency to weaponisation, KPMM does not decline my solicitation for help right away, they invite me to meet with their own doctors for an examination or confirmation. Their doctors, who are much more renowned than mine in the field then establish that my eye condition or predicament cannot be linked to KPMM, that although it is as a result of exposure to light or non exposure to adequate lightning, but the light from my computer screen in KPMM is standard and adequate and not hazardous to the eyes. Their examination report is worded with the support of KPMM lawyers.

Now, it is the aspiration of any doctor to work with the KPMM medical consultants and he defers to them in the end. The consultants are the foremost in the country, they have among their directors, the leading professors in optometry and ophthalmology. No bank will give a loan that would help afford a medical report, so superior. The government hospitals do not even have the facilities for such examination. ''

Such relation above is the reality of many and may be the reality of Oromoni, science would not come to their aid unless afforded. Financial resources would; such financial resource has perhaps aided the college, but if the family spend more, the result can also be skewed to their intent.

It all underscores the necessity of financial resource to medical justice.

I Read this enlightening post with rapt attention and admiration.

CuteEmma:
The major problem with you and most of the comments up there is the length of the article.

According to the post, the boy was first rescued in a very bad state from his roommate’s village, where he couldn’t recognize his father (there’s a photo of him looking really lean). Who took him there?

Secondly his “lifeless” body was retrieved from the same ROMMATE’S village.

His parents can also testify that his roommate controlled his phone and ATM cards.

The writer took a while to explain his good grades in computer science; for someone who didn’t have a PC before going to school; and now started having 4 CO’s in 2 sessions. It’s unusual, it’s either he was influenced into doing drugs or something of sort - by the same roommate (since they were always together).

Someone mentioned the writer not stating the name of the village, or giving more details than he did. Well, I guess that’s all he knew. If we need any other info for investigation, it should be gotten from that roommate.

Most Nigerians are just too loud and less observant. Slow to listen and quick to speak kinda people. When they read a new paragraph, they lose what they read in the previous, because their mind is already busy looking for what to say undecided

Casting aspersions is the ways of the unwise.

The narrator accused someone of Murder. “MURDER” without irrefutable proofs and you are yapping about the length of the article?

Juxtapose my comment and the elaborate nonsense you typed above, where's the correlation?

So, in your myopic mind, this narrative could stand the scrutiny of the court and convict his friend for murder or rope him for defamation.

It is your right to be self-opinionated and unwise, but please confine your filth in your boundary!

Abuja is a bustling city that commands patronage from neighboring towns and cities.

The creative industry is a multi million dollars industry, and regrettably we are yet to tap into this gigantic market.

There are millions of creative but unemployed Nigerians with the vision to succeed but lack the capacity.

Some of the problems faced by Content creators are Quality visual productions and reliable internet connectivity.

Models like Jumoke and the singing sensation recently discovered are occurrences that happens occasionally, and there are millions of creatives seeking the exposures. But instead of occasional occurrences, talents like these can be found through a creative collaboration.

The aforementioned problems can be effective tackled through creative Collaboration thereby bridging the gap in the Creative industry.

Few days ago, the front page was replete with beautiful, unique and timely pictures that held viewers spellbound, interestingly those photographic efforts entails a lot of remuneration, and the same success can be replicated here in Nasarawa state.

I’ll be brief with the objectives and earning potentials of the Partnership.

1. Creating an avenue for creative but unemployed/underemployed Nigerians to explore their creativity
2. Creating an avenue for talent discovery (imagine you were Jumoke’s talent manager before her fame)
3. Creative themed park for real get-away
4. Convenience for content creators

This venture portends recurring financial streams.

I’ll be willing to discuss this further on WhatsApp if this venture piques your interest.

N/B: The proposed site can be inspected! This venture is capable of building immense convertible social Capital.
