That's why he wants to clear them off. When he does that he's feared and whatever he says, no one will stand against it. He wants to rule with fear and power. Most of wars started cod villages exist. But when everything is under his control..he unifies all. That's enough to fight for if you ask me. Madara was ultimately fighting for power, don't get it twisted.
