Dadehmola: we grabbed the chance to sign one of the best and most in-form players in the world so as to fortify a particular position that has suffered so badly since the exit of Ronaldo and the losses of form for both nani and Valencia. This IMO, wasn't a bad idea.
This is hilarious...
How would the acquisition of Vidal have prevented LVG from playing the 3-5-2 system that made us play so poorly, or the injuries that ravaged our back line at the start , or the lackluster performances of our centre forwards all season(if you ask me, these are the major factors that affected us ) your 1st point has been trashed here repeatedly. Now is not such a good time to go into it again. We struggled because of very many reasons The lack of proper dm is arguably the biggest of them as illustrated by how we fell flat on our asses when carrick got his latest injury |

coogar: we should sell him to PSG to nick pogba or vidal. as long as we recoup that hefty fee we paid and even possibly make a profit I won't mind at all. i would choose young 20 times over. young wouldn't complain on the bench & his workrate is better than di maria's. of course, di maria has the wow moments to get you jumping off your feet once in a while but that is not enough in the premier league. that's what makes young the ultimate squad player. Hardly anything more. And di Maria isnt going to be inconsistent forever. a fit ashley young in madrid would cop 35 assists. did you see the chart i posted? 118 goals in one season between 3 forwards and you think young wouldn't provide 1/3 of that at least? lol. A fit young wouldn't get in the team, how then can he paste those numbers. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by PietroRico(m): 10:20am On May 20, 2015 |
weedtaker: ashley young won't reach the heights cause he doesn't play the real madrid way, just as di maria won't reach youngs heights cause he's not playing the united way. young height? Real. Madrid way? United way? I'd love u to talk more on the last two. Then we'll talk about the first |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by PietroRico(m): 10:04am On May 20, 2015 |
coogar: the same ashley young that has graced the PFA team of the season twice has one decent season? amnesia is a terrible disease - see your GP asap!
that was exactly what i said last summer. i told these herbs that di maria wouldn't improve the wingers we already had in the squad and his fees should be spent in the midfield area. lo & behold, young has kept di maria away from the starting XI with back to back MOTM awards.
the cats here get easily fooled by foreign players. di maria's numbers @madrid were inflated because he was surrounded by goal machines while there. ozil also generated 20+ assists in that league & he's completely dried up @arsenal right now.
i guess ozil is still adjusting to england's football life too. any fool can generate assists in la liga. it's the equivalent of the scottish league. 3 solid teams on top & 17 rubbish teams below them. in which other top league are the front 3 generating this kinda numbers? tbh I didn't believe he was going to struggle this hard. I just felt the improvement he was going to bring would have been better elsewhere. I was complaining that he was going to be inconsistent, but he proved me wrong He was consistently rubbish This however takes nothing away from di maria as a player. He obviously has more in his locker to offer. In an ideal scenario... If I have the option of choosing between an Ashley young and a di Maria at their best, I would still go for angel a thousand times over. Ashley young in that Madrid team would not reach di Maria's heights |

The di Maria signing wasn't something we really needed last summer and it was something I very quickly pointed out We needed a Dm more and as we would have it, hindsight has done justice to that assertion Add someone like vidal to the team and remove di maria, I think it makes sense to suggest that we would not have ended up fighting looserpool for 4th place. That said, the fact that di Maria has had trouble adjusting to football and generally life in England doesn't make young a better footballer I'm happy for young's form and everything but he has obvious limitations which mustn't be overlooked. If we must become a top team in Europe once again, we need to have a fit and firing di Maria or get someone with more to offer. I guess that's why depay has been brought in. Young would make a fantastic squad/utility player He is very much needed for depth. |

Digriz: Not sign on fee bt d amount to pay him in a five year deal including other incentives. It is actually £20m nt €20m. which IMO is still bullshît. If only he would just sign on and then move next summer for a commensurate fee, it would be a whole lot less annoying. Madrid poaching your best players is annoying enough, but they robbing u in the process is just... no words That money no reach buy common begovic sef |

UNITED ARE BACK IN THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE
It's now mathematically certain - Manchester United will compete in the UEFA Champions League in 2015/16.
The Reds, who missed out on qualifying for Europe's premier competition last season, were guaranteed to finish in at least fourth spot in the Barclays Premier League when fifth-placed Liverpool lost at home to Crystal Palace on Saturday evening. The Eagles, with former United winger Wilfried Zaha among the scorers, beat Brendan Rodgers' side 3-1 in Steven Gerrard's final home match as captain.
Louis van Gaal’s men still have an opportunity to finish higher in the table, but need other results going the right way. A victory over third-placed Arsenal on Sunday would put United a point ahead of the Gunners, but Arsene Wenger’s men crucially have a game in hand, at home to Sunderland on Wednesday, ensuring their destiny remains in their own hands. Second-placed Manchester City are currently five points ahead of the Reds with two games to go – the Blues travel to Swansea on Sunday lunchtime, before finishing with a home game against Southampton.
If United finish the campaign in fourth, the Reds will need to get through a two-legged qualifying play-off to be in the hat for the group stage. The draw for the play-off takes place on Friday 7 August with the first leg to be played on 18/19 August and the second leg scheduled for 25/26 August.
The play-off round will be divided into two sections with a ‘Champions Route’ and a ‘League Route’. The first section features clubs who have won the domestic league in some of Europe’s lesser-known nations, while the second section, which United will be in, involves clubs that finish second, third or fourth in the more prominent European leagues. A seeding system, based on the UEFA Club Coefficient, should work in the Reds' favour and mean United are seeded; indeed van Gaal's team are likely to be the highest-ranked side in the play-off round and should therefore avoid some more well-known opposition.
If United progress to the group stage proper, the draw for which takes place on 27 August, then the Reds will be in seeding pot two. UEFA have, however, made changes to the group stage seeding system for the 2015/16 campaign with the champions of the seven biggest leagues in Europe (England, Spain, Germany, Italy, Portugal, France and Russia) now being named as top seeds along with this year’s Champions League winners (Barcelona or Juventus). That means the Reds could face the likes of Barcelona or Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Juventus, Benfica or Porto, PSG or Lyon and Zenit Saint Petersburg. Of course, two English clubs cannot together at the group stage so United would avoid playing Chelsea.
If the Champions League winners are also their domestic league winners (Juventus have already won Serie A, while Barcelona are on course to triumph in La Liga), then the champions of the eighth-ranked country, the Netherlands, would be named as top seeds. If that happens, Memphis Depay’s soon-to-be former club PSV Eindhoven would be in pot one.
The final teams in each group of four will come from the third and fourth pots which will feature sides who have made it through the earlier qualifying process. |

Debroslink: Who the hell is Sadio Mane? Fastest hattrick in EPL history in just 2 minutes. Who the hell is he? Oh, I remember... It's an overrated league. Nobody, I repeat NOBODY can try this s.hit in La Liga. Not even Messi or Penaldo Debroslink: My man, I respect you. However, know your facts before you attack the best league.
Celts Vigo 6-1 Rayo Vallecano April 11, 2015.
I said who is SADIO MANE? Scoring 3 goals in 2 minutes, and they are calling for Messi to come and prove himself in that overrated league.
What an insult!
I bet Pedro will win golden boot if he comes to the EPL. people can reason with their yansh sha. Spits. |

SailorXY: I don't get why Masherano will be so relaxed playing CB in Barca
Manchester United are considering signing Roma pair Miralem Pjanic, 25, and Radja Nainggolan, 27, for a combined fee of £66m.
United have ended their interest in Southampton defender Nathaniel Clyne, 24, who is set to sign a new deal with the Saints. miralem pjanic is one player I like so much Him coming to slug it out with herrera and the likes for a place won't be a bad idea Nainggolan would make a decent dm. I dunno about his passing but I do know he is a tough tackler And if the danilo guy Madrid signed from porto is going to unsettle carvajal, we should absolutely consider him |
