I have a First Class in Pharmacy but Pharmacy degree certificate is unclassified
The only way they can confirm I'm in Category A is with my Transcript that has my CGPA but I don't think Transcript is part of the documents required for application

Everybody applies on the new portal. They determine the Category themselves based on the answers you give and your documents.

Hi everyone, Thank you all for your various contributions in this thread that has proved helpful for me.

Please I need anyone with adequate knowledge of the visa application process to help with my question. My husband has an admit with a public university in Germany to study for a Master's degree and should resume by April 7th, however, he's just about to start his visa application process.

My questions are:

1) will he need to submit an English proficiency test score alongside his documents even though this isn't a requirement by his school?

2) since the resumption is so close, is there any possibility for him to receive a visa appointment and response before the resumption date?

3) does he need to legalize and authenticate his first degree documents? N.B: He applied to the school using uniassit and they already performed an evaluation of his first degree documents.

There are no special appointment requests. Even for Category A, which recieve appointments quicker, the waiting time can still be up to 4 weeks or more. So of he is just starting the process, chances are he cannot meet that date.

I jst received a mail stating my interview appointment is slated for 25th of next month. I'm required to be there with an admission letter but I have not secured an admission yet.
I wasn't admitted to the ones I applied to in the past and I haven't been applying for a while now since I last read on this thread it takes 26 months to get an interview date.
I applied for interview June 2023. So it has only been 20 months, and I was planning to start application this month ahead of then.

Due to this short time frame, I'm planning to reschedule since I am not really sure I could secure an admission before then and I also don't have any idea how to go about it. And pls what excuse do you think is proper in my situation?

I really need this, I'll appreciate any response regarding my situation, Thanks!

You apply through the consular services Portal, the old appointment system is gone. They will determine with your documents wether you qualify for Category A or not. You also need to check on anabin if the University you graduated from is recognised.

It's the status of recognition of the University.
H+: Fully recognised
H+/-: Partially recognised (not all degrees from the University are recognised)
H-: Unrecognised, no degrees from the University are recognised

Even within Germany, if you want to extend your residence permit, they ask for a blocked account. Sometimes the money in a current account is account is accepted, but a blocked account is the standard. Bank statements aren’t really acceptable.

I’ve been seeing a lot of discourse surrounding the blocked account, and I don’t know how to go about it
My dad is a German citizen, would I still need to create a separate Blocked account as there’s no exception stated in the list, or do I just need to have the required amount in his account at once or, his statement for the past month should sum it up ?
Also he has a Nigerian account here and that is the statement he wants us to provide at the consulate, is that right?

I believe since you aren't a citizen you still need to meet the normal requirements of a blocked account. I don't think the consulate accepts nigerian bank statements.

i registered on february 11th that is on tuesday, in the email there is a link i can click to cancel the registraton, i think i shoud do that sice the consular potral website is what peeople use now, what do you think?

Did you apply on February 11th through the consular service portal? If yes, you will recieve your appointment when everyone else who registered through the old appointment system has gotten theirs. If you registered through the old appointment system, you are on the waiting list, so you just wait to get your appointment.

I have an admission letter to Unihannover preparatory colleges and from there I can get an admission in the school. Would this also count or I still need to get admission from a school?

You have an invitation to the entrance exam? Yes it works, as long as its not online.

Yeah, my guess is that they'll use your documents to assign you to Category A.

I believe either they or the system makes that distinction based on the answers in the entry form - as you are asked if you are doing a PhD, scholarship or whatever.

Starting from now, all new applications are done via the consular service portal, both cat A and B. In the online application, there is the category for Category A (Study – Specific qualifications) and Category B (Application (Language Course) or
Study Regular). That's why there isn't Category A or B on the appointment website anymore.

If you confirmed your registration for an appointment date, (the email they send you with a link to confirm your registration, and that if you don’t within 30 days it will be cancelled) then it’s possible they haven’t actually gotten up till there yet. Wait till Friday, so you can see how it goes.

What of those that applied via the old portal and are patiently on the waiting list? Is ours still valid?? Do we need to make a new appointment via the new consular portal?

Applicants that previously booked for an appointment and already have a registration number don’t need to create an account on the Foreign Portal.

They will receive an appointment once it’s their turn. The Consulate schedules appointments in strict chronological order of the waiting list.
The list is still valid!

Once all applicants from the waiting list have received an appointment, applicants who have registered themselves on the Foreign Portal will receive an appointment.
