With the overnight fame rocking the Ministry of Olujumoke, a former bread hawker now a super-model, keeps gaining societal momentum. Many organisations have swooped in to double her fortune while seeking publicity as well. My major concern is not the success her fame is attracting to her, but the destruction that awaits her if parallel steps are not taken. Olujomoke's house offers, cars, modelling contracts etc, automatically positions her as the bread winner of the family. The husband has been reduced to a minor role now. recently, PoiseTraining swung in to clean up her English and etiquette so as to suit the new social strata her fame commands. But, the monumental question is what happens to Olujumoke's HUSBAND? Why is he not getting the education and co-fortunes? We all understand the injustice this will do to the man's esteem when his wife of many years is transformed overnight while he is left to struggle. * Very soon, issues as infidelity will pop up * Divorce may beckon on them as understanding will be polarized * Family status also affects marital union There are many things to consider. This post is a clarion call to those managing and gifting Jumoke's fortune to remember to carry her husband along. Fame can set a parriage apart. They shouldn't build her career while sacrificing her marriage. Nairaland Mods. please help o. Written by: Promise Emmanuel

An excerpt of the courst file released to pressreleasenigeria.com suggests some infidelity. I think she said something like "inappropriate behaviour" around his female ministers. |

Davidovinci:What did he do to salvage the marriage? |
Davidovinci:For real? How? |
My question is: What is the consequence of this to the church? These are very queer people. |

I am making this post as a booster to an earlier post. I had penned down these thoughts as a media psychologist on Facebook and other platforms, I felt Nairalanders should also benefit. From further research, I should bring to our awareness the harm done by virtual reality and how to cope with it. Here is a short prologue: I am fascinated by how social media isolates people from keeping real life relationships with others via: face to face meetings, real life discussions, felicitation on achievements, bereavement etc.. Social media and virtual reality have taken over that. Some very indomie generation refer to it as "New media". Well, we are talking of being less human here, gradually jettisoning our closeness to nature. People now feel comfortable around strangers with window-dressed reality (not all), online relationships, online pornography, online information exchange via facebook, twitter, WhatsApp and whatnot. Some people even feel more comfortable with their lives on this virtual reality circle. It has given another escape for those who haven't fixed the reality around them. Some can only show love through chat emoticons. Some people only show love to their parents on social media platforms which their parents rarely access. Some barely do real life visitation as they upload pictures and also stalk others on social media. Some find social media as an avenue to present another version of their personality which defeats their reality. They exists some who can say many things using virtual reality space but not in real life. Some as so beautiful here with pictures they adorn their profiles with but fail to fix that in real life. Prejudice is now so fixed here that a statement of dreams, hopes and achievements are made only on social media. Some even eat here, piss here, sleep here and announces areas that are to be secrets in their lives like: bathing in the tub, indoor furnitures etc When people post the food they are eating, I just wonder the reason behind that..to make what point exactly? Alot also come to appear smart in many things on social media while simple leadership in their lives are nothing to write home about. A lot of issues as personal prejudice, peer pressure, low self esteem and hate is bred and maintained here in a moving circus.. Some that are quick to attack every public official for what is said or not said with innuendos are blessed with adulterated character in reality. It is quite monumental for virtual reality to have such impact on our social continuum. It is also worthy to note that Humanity comes first; nature..every other thing is to eke us closer to understanding this nature which will further dymistify our humanity to appreciable terms. Virtual reality should be an aid to humanity, not a substitution of our humanity. Communication exchange is good, but bad communication corrupts good manners. The Mass-media is an institution that changes your reality through many techniques. Over time, media dysfunction such as: Isolation, panic disorder, attention span disorder, confusion, information overload, charlatanism, cultural iconoclasm and ADD are growing psychological disorders in the populace. Be careful what you hear, how you accept them, what you say and do, how you work it. Take time off to detoxicate yourself. Technology can replace your humanity. Copyright: Promise Emmanuel 2015

(Dont expect anyone to come and jump start your life for you if you aren't taking yourself seriously. . Nobody actually would invest in a business without any building or budding potential (s). Many youths lazy about their lives with procrastination and feeble mindedness but expect their parents, friends, mentors etc to be the one always "spoon feeding" their destiny. That is sheer irresponsibility and low self esteem. Many youths spend their formative years (15-26) learning nothing. They only learn old theories from our paper education systems with work experience in: Womanizing, cultism, drug abuse, wizkid-swags, Olamide's lyrics, facebook pictures, examination malpractice etc. Most of them seldom try out holiday jobs, internships etc to learn anything. Many of these lots have their brains filled with all the entertainment junks in time when it comes to rumour and chasing down of celebrity lifestyles etc With all these, we are heading for the rocks with a workforce that is "unemployable " even when jobs are available. Wake up! People will support you with tools, counsel and some may hold your hand through the storm. .but you must show some PROMISE. gentlegenius:God is a spirit. He is everywhere. As the bible says "where two or more are gathered in his name, he is there". Let us not erroneously give out ourselves, I dont attend all religious gatherings, but religious gatherings are more often than not fhe only opportunity some people have to hear the gospel and get saved. We are also instructed not to neglect the gathering of the brethrens. The testimony of others can build your own faith. Faith cometh by hearing and hearing of the word of God. The part of personal study was recorded in the book of Timothy were the bible spoke on studying to show thyself approved. It is a personal structure to gain understanding of the word. It dint proclaim self withdrawal. Neither can we as Christians exist in isolation. That said, we cannot also use the reality of Nigerian Christians to generalize. Christianity is not the same everywhere. To end, I am not an ardent subsriber of quoting a particular scripture without the precept, but I will reference something from the Book of Jude to help our spiritual understanding of how carnal people understand some things: Jude 1:10 Yet these men speak abusively against whatever they do not understand; and what things they do understand by instinct, like unreasoning animals--these are the very things that destroy them. |
StOla:Christ dint come for the healthy but the sick. A righteous man is not available, thats why grace came. In constant expose to the presence and word of God, the scripture reproaches, teaches and build us. It is better to be in the presence of God as a sinner than to find reason not to be in the faults of others. Salvation is a personal race. Your neighbours' sins wont be on your head. |
The "Spiral of silence theory" of Sandra ball Rokeach(1975) captures the Nigerian scenerio appropriately. People are so insecure and as such cannot stand alone in their opinion (s), so they follow the popular bandwagon trend either it is right or wrong. For them, a crowd has a better understanding or judgement of things. Psychologically, this issue can be traced to boderline personality disorder across our nationality mentality.. A huge manifestation of this disorder is in the chronic national lowself esteem in the Nigerian consciousness. We are a people so unaware but aware. The intrapersonal relationship of self concept has failed us in a very reclusive manner, hitherto there is a jump to global relationship of diplomacy we barely understand. I think international relations relies on foreign policy and instrinsic mutual relationships obtainable therein.. For us, we help those who dont even find us a priority. We forsake the responsibilities of our homes and gobble after the interests we haven't been invited into, more than not, we even cry more than the bereaved. These anomalies carries national consequence. It rapes us of patriotism and enforces the planted fruit of colonialism and now neo-colonialism of the mind. I tell you, Kano, Jos! Adamawa, Borno, kaduna and its constant torment needs more prayers than any other foreign friends we can have. Who leaves his home to put out the fire in that of another? Even the religion we follow call it "hypocrisy and sycophancy". We need a mental surgery and massive development as a nation and it should be included in next year's annual budget; but this time, it wont be infrastructure of health bill but for the "mental state of emergency" pervasively suffering Nigeria and Nigerians like the ongoing bombs in the North East.. #sayaprayerforNigeria Copyright: Promise Emmanuel 2015 |
175:Is it about that? I believe you should understand that people choose their leaders, either good or bad. |
1miccza:Hahahhahaha! Another ignorant one on the lose. Prince Audu never switched parties in his political career. He started with ANPP until merger with APC. |
osaslord500:PDP has the structure in the state.. but I tell you, with the zombie and cataclysmic performance of Gov. Wada, he is dead on arrival. Dino Milaye was seen to be lobbying for one Gamji. Imagine 28 aspirants contesting primaries. See APC and their dirty ambitious people. I hope those that lost out wont sabotage Audu's main election to PDP. |
slimcious:Apart from those peddling ethnic sentiments, Prince Audu is the man for the job. His 2003 legacies are still the remnant of development one can boast of in that state. Yahaya Bello, owner of Fair-plus transport has a good political future after Audu completes his final tenure I think. |
Prince Abubakar Audu has been declared winner of Kogi state Apc primary elections early Sunday morning, at Kogi state township stadium lokoja. The votes which were cast over night saw Yahaya Bello taking early lead while Fmr. Governor Audu emerged with a slim margin to victory. This is the first time elections in Kogi state have been seen to be free and fair. The election was chaired by Current Governor of Kaduna state, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai. Audu now faces PDP incumbent governor Governor Idris Ichalla Wada. Source: Kogi iReporter Promise Emmanuel More details shortly |
On Monday 24th August, 2015; Facebook recorded a historic 1 Billion users in a single day, that is 1 out of 7 persons on earth used facebook to connect with their families, friends and business concerns. Mack Zuckerberg adequately thanked the community and said more growth and connection is projected in time due. While others are so happy, I keep thinking differently as usual..: Through facebook and its sister Whatsapp, our lives have been reduces to just "Virtual-ness". Real relationships are seen through the screen, many have also been broken through the screen. Real love has been substituted for the "repackaged or window dressed" love where everything goes through prudent editing and selection processes. Your neighbours inform you of rain drenching the clothes you've sun dried through whatsapp and Facebook without helping you remove them. Your friends on outing spend time facebooking or whatsapping for the whole length due to addiction. Parties, birthdays and marriages are better celebrated on facebook as attention are paid more to the photographs to be posted for "likes" rather than the physical deal. Women acquire their esteem on facebook via photographs Men now hook up with the next Friday night's girl on facebook leaving their wives at home Many decent teenagers have had their perception shaped from the excesses of this fake reality and they upped the game by taking pictures in Hotel rooms, bathtubs, shopping malls etc as if that's where they live. Some people even get the news of their breakup on facebook And we now operate a government of photographs on facebook. . Some government officials even get notification of their removal on facebook or twitter and a copy is screen grabbed to them on whatsapp. Finally, we now run another country called Nigeria on facebook as you get to see new names, houses, certificates etc on profiles of Nigerians when in reality they live in another Nigeria.. Perhaps we should not also forget that all our wailings and change movements due to good or bad government policies end on facebook.. Some people are also thinking of voting on facebook soon and they would expect Kogi and Edo Governorship election be decided on Facebook just like the April elections which also installed "government of the media" in its wake. OrlandoOwoh:Thats the problem with us.. What stone has been turned so far? |
Passingshit:Stale |
INTROVERT:Lol..Actually, the nature of our democracy is "we against them". Psychologically, people have been structured to receive reality that way. |
From the body language of this government and its party, its is evident that top of the program on its agenda is: Probe Goodluck Jonathan Probe his cabinet Probe all deals under Jonathan Probe him again! Then keep the people busy with old tapes, interviews, interests, hate etc between the divided fans of APC and PDP to keep defending what they believe in according to their choices while time just silently moves.. 9 days to 100 days in office of our darling President, all we have is still "hope and people being probed on the media".. Lol.. Yar'adua 100 days in office saw many changes happen to our economy. Now, supposedly, the last administration was so bad and wrecked the economy, now we have a now government which is a dissent from what we had.. But why do we still have everything going down? Aren't they doing anything? Unemployment worse, stock prices depleting, currency depreciating etc.. Even if we blame it on Jonathan and PDP which is the usual defense, when are we going to start demanding from this administration on steps she has taken to alleviate this tumultuous descent that is constantly in occupation? And before you say Electricity, it was the last administration. . the investments are bearing fruits. Those sabotaging distribution are have also retreated a bit.. Before you talk of corruption.. alot of negotiations are exchanging for soft landing. I dont care who is jailed..Jonathan or ObJ.. But nothing has been done! Just "I will probe". Before you talk of transparency. .. This administration hasn't declared its asset publicly as promised. Yar'adua did it in less time. Before you talk of appointments... The Federal character has been abused grossly with cardinal appointments favoring one region and religion..and the hypocrites who know deeply the consequences of these in their hearts are screaming "competence" as if its the exclusive reserve of one region. Before you talk Agriculture: Nothing has been said Before you talk of Education: Not even a mention of it cardinally in the President's body language. And our tabloids and screen are screening of this personal pronoun "I" and verb "will" connoting Personal force of certainty while other persons and other areas of our National lives like, Education, Sports, etc are neglected just for one government who has been planning for two months like it was not doing anything before coming to power. Before you tag me any name..consider these points and counter them objectively. I am a Nigerian as well, and your president is my president.. and my conscience belongs to everybody and nobody! Let us all Probe our Conscience #Inknerd |
