PoliticsRe: Open Letter To Gov. Wada Of Kogi State by pinkrex(op): 9:58am On Sep 11, 2013
This is one of the plethora problems confronting the naturally blessed (5-6 mineral resources) and human resources blessed Kogi state. The strategic geo-graphical location of the state and even its historical monuments( lugard house et al).m The Gov. Is practially doing nothing and enjoys 'media negligence'. Pls, Mods help me project this to fornt page. I'm not sure premium times shares her coverage to that region, but on Nairaland we can pass the message across. Its high time kogites stand up for their innate rights, either by demanding or complaining
PoliticsOpen Letter To Gov. Wada Of Kogi State by pinkrex(op): 9:54am On Sep 11, 2013
Your Excellency, greetings and top of the day to you. I would have loved to talk to you in private but I know that I may not have a chance of ever getting that privilege.
Sir, I have voted for this open communication against my wish because, as a non-political office holder or stakeholder in the Social Contract between Your Excellency and the people of Kogi State whose popular mandate Your Excellency has been exercising since 2011 election. The time it would take to go through the protocol of getting an appointment with you would probably have made my effort belated. I could, of course, have taken my chance and found a way of barggin into you at one of the social and political functions, which you attend, but I won’t have dared.
Ordinarily, I ought not to have resorted to washing a ‘dirty linen’ in public. However, I am constrained  by the absence of a better opportunity or forum for  a non-partisan active electorate like me to have an audience with Your Excellency due to the exigencies of your office, tight schedule coupled and in most cases, with bureaucratic bottleneck and protocol arrangement that usually fence off elected state functionaries of your status. In the light of this, I wish to be understood in the circumstance I have found myself.
The major point I wish to address here is the condition and present state of Lokoja our state capital. I wish to say without doubt in my mind that, Kogi state is the smallest state capital in Nigeria and the least or better still the poorest in times of physical development and beautification.
To confirm my statement above, for someone who knows Lokoja very well, will know that those who are involved in commercial taxi’s in Lokoja makes little or no profit because of the small nature of the state capital as only those who are scared of going by bike the popular Okada go by car because for youths and elderly once who are in a rush to where they are going can easily pick a bike from barrack (the beginning of Lokoja) to Nataco or Felele (the end of Lokoja) because of the size of the state capital which cost 150naira for bike and 80naira for taxi. With this you will believe me when I say Lokoja is the smallest state capital in Nigeria.
You may be tempted to ask, why am I saying this? There are so many things wrong in the state especially the state capital. If no part of Kogi state will witness meaningful and physical development, I think and suppose Lokoja the state capital should have witness better development than we see today.
Unlike other state capital where traffic jam are as a result development, for a visitor who slept over in Lokoja for the first time, waking up to continue his trip the next day and approaching the popular Ganaja junction may be force to say Lokoja is fast developing because of the traffic jam everyday witness on that road.
But we all know there is nothing like development in the state capital as the traffic jam is as a result of the fact that, there are increase in population within the city, increase in travelers from other states passing through Lokoja and the dilapidated state of the only road within city. A fly over at Ganaja junction and repair of the bad road will simply eliminate this traffic jam being face every day by Kogites within the state capital and even by travelers.
Another embarrassing thing is the fact that, Lokoja is the only state capital without streetlight as the state capital is left in total darkness at night. Even the road that passes through government house is very bad and without streetlight.
Lokoja is the only state capital without street names. The street roads are in a state of collapse, disrepair and without names and streetlight.
The only road that passes through the state is without marks, no bus stops, full of potholes, very dirty and without streetlight.
On a final note, in spite of the fact that Lokoja is the smallest state capital in Nigeria, Lokoja is the least develop state capital in terms of anything you can think about, roads, streets, physical development, human development, beautification to mention but a few. Notwithstanding, it would be right and proper for Your Excellency to take a very good look at the merit of this write up and direct ministry of works and environment to take necessary steps to improve the outlook of the state capital. There are many other areas of the state I would love to touch but would wait for a little more time sir before bringing them up again.
Thank you Your Excellency for reading me.

EducationRe: Benefits Of Assu's Strike by pinkrex(op): 12:02pm On Aug 28, 2013
Besides, what if the oppositional political party infiltration happens to be true?
Why has ASUU even refused to shift grounds a little, even just for the students being fought for?
Will the guaranteed money stop lecturers from demanding bribes from students to pass exams, or will it make them realise their primary roles as parent-teachers?
Whats their continuous excuse, other than the Govt. Loots but cant pay lecturers who make them whom they are today. Now, realistically, who suffers this shared show of greed and irresponsibility other than the students?
Think about the joblessness. The insecurity this strike action would even cause. What about those in their final years been delayed graduation?!

All im doing is to appeal for students to go back to school. I dont want to square blames, for politics is now the fibre on which every livewire transmits current in this country today.
Lets have a nairaland petition, appealing to our lecturers to ignore their pockets and our irresponsible government. Off strike
EducationBenefits Of Assu's Strike by pinkrex(op): 11:49am On Aug 28, 2013
The undustrial action embarked by the Academic staff union of universities has entered into its 8th week, its all an attempt to demand for infrastructural upgrade and benefits accrueable to an MOU signed in 2009. With a murky resolution as to when students will be going back to school, both parents and students are bearing the brunt of 'political drama'. As a concerned academic, I would really like to slant some unturned stones in this government and lecturers affair.
Who is to benefit more from this strike?

Now, the MOU as acclaimed, was signed by the Yar'adua's administration. Is it possible for GEJ to accept it without a review?
Havent the government ceded to one of their demands for infrastructural upgrade by providng 400bn spread through 4years?
How many professors do we have in Nigeria, sharing 30bn?
Imagine who suffers truly. Your lecturers wards are abroad schooling
Imagine the inflation that would amount by just bonuses!
If they fight for students, why havent they accepted the 30bn?

Lol.. Plethora wave of sentimental submissions. Well, the anger and defenses are well founded, because realistically 'few lootocrates' have gained plausible deniability on a whole tribe/race. Hypocritically, we've failed to realise how 'ethnocentrism and religion' has been the bane of our undevelopments and developments. Who Isn't accountable to his kinsfolk and men in multi-ethnic group like Nigeria? Where is Smart Adeyemi's impact? What about Idachaba that was pestilencely chased when he showed competence? Why should the average unhappy Igala youth posit confidence in the easily provoked Ebira youth, or is it the Okun youth that appears to be 'blanketly' better ribalistic, bigotic and also kind in words, shabby of deeds? If the 'tolerance' isnt strengthened, for a change.. Even Acidosis and my self would just be constituting e-nuisance.
PoliticsRe: Inside Kogi Trade Fair Complex » Photos by pinkrex(m): 3:12pm On Aug 20, 2013
Im an Igala man, however I do not like the position of my tribesmen on many issues. Development is one, courtsy of greed and discipleship. However, not all Igalas have been in govt. House. The dearth of growth in ramifications in kogi state started when PDP under Obasanjo punished the whole state by punishing Prince Abubakar Audu out of power, through serial rigging of elections because of personal PDP interests. The state is controlled by the 'presidency' and not 'Igala men' like the Op ignorantly accused. We have over six ethnic groups in the state, with Igala, heading the ranks in population, education et al, besides the former speaker of the state under Ibrahim Idris (an Ebira man)whom attempted betrayal when Idris had his tenure ended by supreme court, sew a political seed of hatred amongst the people. Is it the Okuns whom a tribalistic in dealings or the Ebiras in their violent nature or perhaps, the Igalas with their proud esteem that dsnt share a fault in the state's mess?
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Why Are There No Job Agencies In Nigeria??? by pinkrex(m): 12:00am On Apr 12, 2013
Recruitment agencies generate employment! For a recruitment agency to function, she'll need to employ a workforce. It divides a salary meant for a person, amongst more persons. It creates employment for menial graders, as janitors, errand boys et al can be used in a big firm without incurring huge cost. Recruitment agencies also train graduates in preparing them for jobs which they might fail to get but retains the training for future use.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Why Are There No Job Agencies In Nigeria??? by pinkrex(m): 11:52pm On Apr 11, 2013
coputa: Do you think job agencies can reduce the rate of unemployment in the country..my answer is a big 'NO' because those working there will still manipulate their kith and kins into juicy and high profile positions...for example..first bank through a consultant acting as an employment agency has been secretly carrying out interview in one of their branch in warri and more painful is the fact that all of the applicants were all yorubas...,
well, I happen to be privy to a knowledge that refutes this claim, but to give you more room... Please, what 'agency' handles recruitment for Firstbank?
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Why Are There No Job Agencies In Nigeria??? by pinkrex(m): 11:36pm On Apr 11, 2013
The issue of not getting a full payment due to the bureaucratic nature of payment is because, some deductions like tax, management fee et al is to be remitted through the agency you applied through. Consequently, you are a two faced contract staff, as the agency that recruited you is more responsible for you, hence they deal with the clients on your behalf. Do not always claim to be cheated, in business, managers care for their business survival before you. The outsourcee always looks for cheap deals and the outsourcer charges a percentage of the outsourced salary to keep his business at float. Please, read your contract terms and know the percentage deductions before you take jobs.
Most job agencies in 9ja are all scam. They get you the employment, then make you a ''money making machine or use you for money medicine'' for themselves; meaning you don't even get to know how much you worth to your employer cos your employer pays them and they inturn pays you. They'll always use the term '' contract and non contract staff'' Imagine someone working in a bank or an oil firm and does not get paid directly in the name of been a contract staff and even when he is paid, a chunk of the money(salary) is paid to the job agency.
In a proffessional language, its called 'outsourcing'. This service is usually required by a firm that need adhoc staff or a temp workforce to meet a particular project demand. The term 'contract' is used to create a legal aggreement between both parties as renewal is based on need. Some companies are aware of the cost of maintaining a core staff, especially when the job is less demanding or off less duration.

@Poster. There's a reputed firm that can ease your recruitment burden (Resource-intermediaries limited). Its head office is in Lagos, with a branch at Abuja, Portharcourt and Ghana. Outsourcing and recruitment is the core business; with a database of job seekers. This company has recruited many drivers for some nairaland members (testifiers pls) and that extends to other cadre of workforce too. Please, kindly call this number Emmanuel 07061500359(enquiries@ for further information. An official mail will be used to respond to your needs immediately, upon verification of your request.

CAMEROONPRIDE: everything mandatory or compulsory in the catholic church is not written in the bible, for example a catholic must confess at least one time during the year esp the during important period like nativity, assumption etc.confession as a whole is not even mentioned in the bible. another example is the list of vices and virtues both aren't mentioned in the bible but are followed.
is the pope mentioned in the bible?
in few words not everything is mentioned in the bible that's why we have a church law/code.
to answer your question i can't show any reference to that cause here isn't none that i know anyway..
firstly, I'm not a Catholic. And history has it that some earliest Roman traditions were embedded in the Roman Catholic church (constantinopian) et al.. That same issue borne our Protestant churches under Martin Lurther. I'm a bible believing Christian and traditions can't take me to heaven.

However, its rather irrational to use a 'sect' in Christianity as a conventional standard.

Its not all about political parties. Nigerian politicians are heartless leaders. In all the political parties mentioned above, we've tested leadership from them all.. The same crop or their nutured accomplices are still in the race today.

Its just a 'political battle' at the expense of the masses.

To be honest, greediness begets greediness. A lot of people want 'give a car to God' in order to receive 'five'. Is God a business man? He gives you for free, you can't even trade substance of equality with him. The only Sacrifice God requires from you is just righteousness, dedication, love and prayers. If he gives to you and you want to give to others cos it was given to you, then nobody should ask or even know when you give. Its very simple.

We just follow greedy rules and suffer greedy consequences.

No man of God will tell me to give an aeroplane to receive a private jet. God doesn't take to give. His blessings and benevolence are too abundance to go bankrupt or request for exchanges. When you touch lives, seek the common people that you are sure it will touch. You little 'thousands' can't touch your 'black suit' pastor except your billions.
Christianity EtcRe: Is Church Attendance Compulsory? by pinkrex(m): 10:57am On Jan 06, 2013
joseph1832: And what's the conscience of men my good man?
The ability to discern good from evil. God sees through the heart and not physical holiness. He backed that even more by saying 'thou shall not judge lest be judged'. Judgement is of God alone. If you do anything and your spirit is sync(ed) with God, if its wrong, the holy-spirit (helper and comforter) is to reveal to you while you ask for forgiveness, and if you are on point to what your inner spirit(consciences) then you don't mind what the world sees and interpretes. 'Walking' with the lord is different from 'working' with the lord.

I won't quote much bible verses except when its very imperative today cos I think we have 'manipulated' inter-pretations. Etc what I literarily think and what my Pastor says'. We'll approach this topic very 'realistically' according to our life experiences. God is not just present in the bible, he's in our everyday life.

Righteous? Who's righteous in todays church? A place that has turned into the gathering of rogues, homosexuals, murderers, prostitute etc! Please the church today is far from righteous!
Surely, good must exist with evil, however, there must be a 'platform' for the aforementioned to gain relevance. Even while Jesus was with us on earth, the temple was turned into a marketing field.. So are other schemes introduce by 'selfish non-believers' which in-turn shames the name of Christianity. With all been said, I personally believe in personal relationship with God, and even if I have to attend Churches, I don't go to the bigger ones. That's where you find exploitation of all sorts and mis-quotation of biblical verses to back their schemes. If Jesus worshipped humbly, you can. Look for a growing ministry where you feel the presence of God and then even your 'donations' as tithes et al would be primarily used to grow the gospel.# my two pence

. The ten commandments is judaism. Offludaism is the religion Jesus came to preach.. Its hugely pillared on 'fulfilment of the law of Moses' and an exchange of the new law which is 'love'. That's what Jesus preaches! The conscience men possess is now 'the law'.

Yomieluv: What do you expect from a school located in the Northern part of Nigeria, being educated there is seen as a luxury, and a straight ticket to be the Governor of the state. So am not surprised.
If you were Educated enough, you'd have realised that Kogi isn't core North but 'middle belt' and rated as 'north central' in the geo-political zoning. Go figure the literacy rate and stop yarning dust cos your name suggests you as a Southerner. The yoruba decents from the Okun find the state a luxury after it was carved out of Kwara state.
