Politics / Re: Extension Of PVC Collection For Governorship Elections by pinkrex(m): 11:13am On Apr 03, 2015 |
I don't understand Nairaland this days o. I don't know the kind of posts that should make front page. Its also painful that many are viewing and reading this sensitive issue but are biased to comment or lift it. Have we all considered the amount of registered voters and the disparity in turn outs for elections? Smh for my country. |
Politics / Extension Of PVC Collection For Governorship Elections by pinkrex(m): 10:59am On Apr 03, 2015 |
I have been thinking of a clamour for permanent Voters card (PVC) distribution to those who are yet to receive theirs in order to participate in the guber-elections. I saw how this distribution was managed to favor incumbent governors and I strongly think the presidential election is an eye opener to many people when it comes to PVC distribution and collection. Please Nairalanders, can we agitate for further distribution in order to thwart rigging plans for the coming guber-elections? |
Politics / An Open Letter To Pres. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan by pinkrex(m): 7:38pm On Mar 31, 2015 |
Loyalty, honesty, faith and hope are all constituents of INTEGRITY, whatever I follow, I sink with that thing to the end. I am no coward and would never be one. I still believe in the presidency of Jonathan even if Nigerians have demonstrated not to; in this mien, I recall the words of my friend Hassan DM which says "In democracy, the Majority have their WAY while the Minority have their SAY". Its not about being a bad citizen.. Its about loyalty to my nation according to my conviction and understanding and history has demonstrated that the voice of the masses may not be the voice of rationality. However, its not a do or die affair- I revere the character of Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, the courageous lion of Aso rock the inherited the collective mess from our colonial and indigenous masters; he bore them on his 57 year old shoulders while remaining calm to his person. Through him, Nigerians grew a Renaissance that led to metamorphoses of where we are today and gearing towards. Single-handedly he wrestled power from the 'powers unknown' and gave us the masses back the feel of democracy and the voice the people should command. He was with many flaws but with developmental craws.. He liberated us from the bench slavery of western trade crumb eaters and married us to another favourable one. He displayed to me as a youth that I can be in the midst of bad people and still be good.. He gave me the assurance that someday, I as the minority with no good shoes could take a shot at the presidency and win again.. In him I saw a politician without show of affluence and political commandeering like his predecessors. In him I saw a man with great humility and resonance.. To the ranks of Abiola, Soyinka, Chinua Achebe, Fela and other rejected national heroes like Ken Saro Wiwa I place you today.. Those that left us with landmarks to follow. I congratulate your well deserved rest even as I know it is not finished. You were a destined child and you executed your own mission- to activate the Youth of Nigeria into recognizing the power she wields. With a tear I say God bless you sir... @Moderators. I have been a member of this forum for years and active almost every day, I usually don't applaud the tradition of making Front page- albeit, I think this post will help re-affirm calmness in those blood already boiling to cause violence. Give them an opportunity to rethink please. I humble ask to be moved to Front page. CC. OAM44 |

Even your burials will not receive any 'change or continuity' as you all chant. I wonder how people who aren't animals, even animals think and protect their territory for survival, will condescend into planks, bottles, guns, charms, bombs etc for the likes of OBJ, Tinubu, Jonathan, IBB, Buhari etc- those who are responsible for where we are today. The same recycled politicians. Yes, I will vote for jonathan today.. But if I hear any slight kpere, I will not defend any vote for Jonathan. Patriotism is not to die for the wrong reasons na. They keep shouting 'Change'- which conductor is owing you biko-ejoor? |
Politics / How APC And PDP Will Cause Violence by pinkrex(m): 12:13pm On Mar 28, 2015 |
I kept saying it..those who have been making the loudest decibel in noise in the run up to this election so far have remained in their enclaves, mansions, sorry, cubicles- they are scared of violence like myself and have instigated gullible ones into the streets with the weapon of their poetry, commentary, bribes and satire. Alas! They remain indoors to monitoring votes on social media. With the heated 'change movement' and 'continuity movement' with some even declaring Buhari winner via social agenda before the real elections and have failed to protect their dutch-voice and movement today; consequently, those that scooped mustard-seed courage to head for the polling units are giving reports like' no security operatives in sight, armed bandits everywhere, pregnant cloud' etc suggests to me that the fear would lead them back home.. The real opinion leaders in the highest cadre have decided to also sit at home and monitor things through social media and their thugs on the street and wired political connections. The impending implosion is multifaceted as I smell an atmosphere of frustration, desperation, confusion and even intimidation through acts of scaring voters away already as a bomb has gone off in Enugu this morning. It therefore suggests that the following will happen: (1) The electorate will desert the polling units to only thugs who are rounded up by arms in pockets to defend themselves, at such..only that line will decide election fate. (2) The pre-heated voice for Buhari and Jonathan on social media may not gain reality and as whatever results announced will be later rejected by backers. Of both factions who are the elites sitting at home tight with their family members will still instigate others into violence (3) Many polling units will witness marred successes in accreditation due to the internet chips which always malfunctions in Nigeria, consequently, many would not be accredited to vote and it will cause trouble between the two major factions (4). The media predictions which dint take into account this sensitive faCtor have created expectations in the minds of people and if it doesn't materialize, they may be trouble. (5) Figures from different polling units will be confusing as thugs, party reps and Inec officials will have their own figures which will also cause confusion (6) It has not been about Nigeria from the outset but just Buhari and Jonathan (7) The media owners will use their mouth-pieces to instigate people into violence by hate reportage against each other ( Regardless of the failures in accreditation and votes, election results will be announced and won't be taken in good faith by both ends and this will cause violence (9) Thugs must fight to vilify their positions to their pay masters. (10) The leaders will keep quiet and let their political bull-dogs wreck havoc I wrote this piece as a concerned and sensitive youth to the public. Before you kill yourself due to ignorance, consider these: *MMA airport was rowdy in the week due to kids of politicians traveling abroad for safety *All the politicians are one big family, never an enemy or friend to the end * It is still on faceless citizens that will die and never any politician.. Why? * After all deaths, it doesn't change anything * You have to live to enjoy good or bad governance, and when you're alive you stand a better chance * Tomorrow belongs to only those who are alive And if you still want to die.. From my desk and heart.. I wish you "Rest in peace". Greet heaven or Hell for those who care. # Promise Emmanuel |

Hello all, we are building a professional database for drivers in Nigeria. I have experience of drivers recruitment and outsourcing spanning through 4 years as HR in this field. Education / Working With Intellectual Superiority by pinkrex(m): 1:00pm On Nov 17, 2013 |
We can't really know 50% of what we ought to know in a life time.. When I see some facebook and nairaland friends with drunken monopoly of knowledge and their superiority complex, it stagers my connection with humanity. Now check out the concept of Dunning-Kruger effect. The basic idea behind it has been a well-established rule for centuries. Charles Darwin, for instance, has stated “Ignorance more frequently begets confidence than does knowledge”. It has been empirically proven in 1999, by psychologists David Dunning and Justin Kruger in their report “Unskilled and Unaware of It: How Difficulties in Recognizing One’s Own Incompetence Lead to Inflated Self-Assessments”. This was proven through a study in which participants take tests of their logical reasoning skills, grammatical skills, and humor, and then estimate their own abilities in those subjects. Those participants who scored in the bottom quartile grossly overestimated their own abilities. Those in the 12th percentile had estimated themselves to be in the 62nd percentile. Overall, Dunning and Kruger found that incompetent people overestimate their own skill level, fail to recognize the skill of other people and fail to recognize their own inadequacy. Also, as they receive training to improve their skills, incompetent people tend become more aware of their own inabilities. If it stands this way, where do some people profile the standard of 'judging others' accroding to their understanding from? We also see some peeps mistaking 'knowledge to intelligence'.. The resultant effect Is: Irrational intellectual bullying, obnoxious use of grammatical jargon, ethnic attacks, irrational mockery and excessive pedantry. I know it might not make front-page as it is not a political or celebrity bore but what are your thoughts? |

swhiss: The Lords prayer is nt rily a prayer we shld be reciting, its like a model jesus christ set to guide us on how to enrich our prayerS so as for it to be heard by GODWhat's the difference between the standard for guidance and the prayer it self? The bible and christ is not hypocritical or stand in public or open corners to use long grammar to seek God. Everything you explaiined remained the same.. That prayer is complete and means the same thing long or short. When you live the heavenly lifestyle, you don't need a 'Nigerian prayer'. 1 Like |

I believe workers should have contracts or 'terms of employment'? In Nigeria, everything goes. For all she's done and her competence on the Radio, she needs some support in times of such 'sensitivities'. Its also true that many employers in Nigeria hate any form of audacity or subtle confrontation. Its all about the yes-man game, coupled with favoritism and tribalism. How painful. A slight 'truth' is seen as rudeness. I'm sure we have many Nigerians in such mess. Rationally speaking, let's even agree she is rude or arrogant, are they just noticing or is her sick bed the best way to relieve her of her duty? Moral corruption is cellularly linked in this country, as any honest person is seen as rude or insobordinate. True success as I know, goes with hardwork, ethical values, honesty and competence but at a point, when you to swerve as the wind dictates you fall by holding on to the very thing that took you up. It a sad story, in a system that isn't very subjective to objectivity. 1 Like |

21 September, 2013 Why Nigeria Info FM sacked me – Popular radio presenter, Matse Nnoli reveals Popular On-Air Personality, Matse Nnoli has been sacked by AIM Consultants, owners of Nigeriainfo FM. She recently issued a statement detailing the reason for the termination of her appointment with the talk radio station. The budding broadcaster lost her job few months after she tied the knot. Read below the statement… Dear all, compliments of the day to you. I believe a lot of you must have heard of the recent termination of my job as an OAP (On Air Personality) on 99.3 Nigeria Info Fm. Well, it is true. I have read on several blogs that I was sacked for being arrogant, rude etc. Even recently that I lacked discipline. If I lacked discipline, I wouldn’t be successful in my career. I believe discipline, integrity and honesty goes hand in hand with true success. Ask those who have met and known me and they will tell you that this is what I live for. I am not perfect, I have made mistakes but who is perfect? I prefer to be silent on matters like this but since silence is assumed to be consent, I will not consent to my hard earned reputation being dragged to the gutters. I worked too hard for it. On the 2nd of September 2013 while on admission at First Consultant Medical Centre, Lagos. I received an email while on my sick bed, announcing my termination. Honestly, I was not angry but a bit shocked. I had been too sick lately due to my pregnancy and was not at my best but I expected my company to be supportive of me. Yes, I wanted them to be supportive of me because I had worked hard over the years to bring them much glory. I know that I will see all sorts of articles and comments to discredit me but I simply ask this of you all. If you have ever met me and I was unpleasant to you, feel free to vent but If you don’t know the real me and all you have heard are insinuations, hold your peace. I love people and always wish them well. My mentees and honest colleagues will testify to this.I love progress because I believe the sky is big enough for all the birds to fly. AIM Consultants. I am not mad at you. I believe when one door closes, another one opens. I have served you well over the years, brought you accolades. So please, let me go in peace and insiders in the Organisation who do not like guts should not use it as an opportunity to tear me down. I am a good person and YOU ALL KNOW THIS! God bless AIM Consultants, I learnt a lot from you and I am grateful. God bless us all! http://www.nigerianeye.com/2013/09/why-nigeria-info-fm-sacked-me-popular.html?m=1 |

You really don't have to feel bad or awful, only 'Beauty queens' spend time making sure all their 'joblessness' is being covered up by blush and mascara ( they are being paid for it tho).. But for you, it shows your are exercising your God given talents, by gaining education, engaging in menial jobs, high demanding mental jobs and sheer hard work through creativity. Hard-working people sweat, it shows through their acquired dignity in labour in which the jobless ones stay and notice, using their unproductive selves as a yardstick. You only stay pretty, handsome and cute forever in your 'abilities' and not your looks cos they fade..
