In fact, the numerous prop firms springing up daily force the existing ones to come up with better ideas to keep their 'customers' in addition to making sure they don't slip up in the trust department.[/color]

Do you think propfirms would fold up anytime soon?

[color=indigo]am no expert like the bosses up there but the dynamic future has always been constant in one aspect....nothing is immune from collapse.

However, with the way prop firms are springing up by the day it is safe to assume they won't be folding up any time soon. FTMO has been around since 2015. I can safely assume that in the next 5 to 10 years they will still be around. People are flocking to prop firms in their thousands and the number increases everyday. As long as this state of affair continues then we are looking at a long term duration of operation.

However, their sudden appearance in the forex trading world also carries the rational skepticism of their continued operation into the future. This is healthy skepticism. Just milk what you can from them now they are available as legit prop firms are the best way to make profits from the markets.[/color]

[color=indigo]this is common to all traders. In my experience, the best thing to do is to bring your stoploss to BE+1 to cover the cost of entry after the market has moved, say, 15 pips or 20 pips in your favour. You cannot control the outcome of the trade. The best you can do is manage your equity as best as you can so you don't lose at both sides — stoploss is taken out and market went ahead to hit your initial take profit level.

Another thing that can be done in addition to the above is to take partials after a determined number of pips to lock-in profits and bring the stoploss to breakeven. If the market decides to go further in your direction...all well. If it decides to reverse, and it hits the stoploss...at least you did not lose.

There is something else though. If you use 1:1 Risk/Reward ratio then you should win 60% of your trades to be profitable. At 50% win rate you will only break even. At 1:2 Risk/Reward ratio you only need to win 4 trades out of 10 (40%) to be profitable. What I am trying to say is that 1:1 RR is not an advisable risk parameter to use when trading.

As long as you have taken partials and brought your stoploss to breakeven there is every tendency you will hit home runs after some disappointing starts.[/color]

At some point, i tried to understand this VSA thing but I guess I got too lazy and tired of new strategies. I was looking for a method to determine failed swings most especially on higher time frames (because of my trading style of course) but then i settled for EW though only the basic knowledge of it.

Really, the beauty of diversity of trading style cannot be over-estimated. I love reading analysis from different angles of opinion. Just a personal habit I cannot quit. Almost better than reading novels[/color]

2) Entry strategy: If my bias(direction) is right, where do I enter? You should pick a entry strategy that has historically proven to show less fluctuations for that pair.
3) Exit strategy: where and how do I consistently take profit.

So by backtesting atleast a year data(Or six months) and finding most common type of way to know direction ,to enter and to exit. Then you stick with it. It’s not hard
Simplicity and consistency is the way.
And also trade lesser pairs . One or two is enough

according to him, playing football is easy once u understand some basic principles.
he said as an attacker, with the ball in your feet, when you facing the defenders, all you have to do to get past the defenders is to confuse the defenders..
when he was further asked on how to confuse the defenders. he said all you have to do is to pretend you want make a left turn with your body language. once the defenders are convinced you want to make the left, you turn around and do the opposite (by taking the right turn)

ever since the day I watched the interview, my perspective about life changed completely.
being a thinker, I quickly realise this same principle is applicable to forex trading and numerous other things of life..

the market is very deceitful. and it has no integrity or whatsoever..
all the market does is to pretend to take one direction but end up completely taking the other direction.
the market has used this same tactic to burn millions of account from time immemorial. once u understand this principle, u won't be in a rush to take trade simply because the market is rapidly moving on a particular direction. this is where self control and patience comes in.
you should have it at the back of your mind that the market will never make a move on a particular direction until it is sure it has already led many traders astray. (making them to buy instead of sell or vice versa) .
all am preaching here is try and make conscious effort to look at your left side and right side before crossing the road.

the market is the ronaldinho while we the traders are the defenders. he is constantly trying to dribble and get past us. so by this preaching, we ought not to be easily deceived by the market
