Timoleon:I hope you know that God never abandons those who trust in Him but suffer unjustly (the bible says if one should suffer they should suffer as those who are being persecuted, not as those who deserve the punishment). He is always there on their matter even when it doesn't appear so and as a judge he will never acquit those who prey on His people unless they repent and make restitutions...guaranteed. |
live with a clean slate so that if you are falsely accused God will be your advocate and judge in one. |
the Johnny Depp and Amber Heard syndrome. so many things have gone down in that marriage that it may just be blind judgment to blame the woman the way the man was ignorantly judged at the hospital. I advocate they go their separate ways to avoid the situation where one of them ends up killing the other. more puzzling is why they are still together despite their marital incompatibility. really puzzling. Op, be very careful when officiating as peacemaker in a violent display between people. many have been pushed to their early graves doing just that. officiate from a safe distance if you can. |
angelfallz:granted, there was casualty recorded at the Crimean bridge bombing but if you think that Putin will not play dirty all in a bid to unleash wanton destruction of lives and property on Ukraine then you had better think again. Putin is ready to do anything to justify his aggression against Ukraine including destroying key facilities that serve him the needed excuse to invade Ukraine. |
angelfallz:How did you know Ukraine did that when they have not taken responsibility? For all we know, Putin may have had it blown up as an excuse to terrorise Ukraine. Secondly, even if Ukraine destroyed the bridge does that equate to the callous destruction of human lives? |
did anyone notice the cautious and non-condemning statements from the Foreign Ministries of India and China? |
Kobojunkie:I would have gladly responded to all your statements, but what stands out is that you are set in your ways. For example, the Gospel was not directed to the Jews only but to also the gentiles (us). That means whatever is preached about Christ and God, barring the Law is also addressed to the gentiles. This (and many more) is the reason I won't even attempt to address all your statements because you want to be blind to the truth, not that you have an open heart to the truth. Just imagine the statement you made (about Christ) denying the five-fold ministry gifts He gave to men is a clear indication you are not ready to see the truth or search for it. |
Jen96:I'm happy for you. Resist the enemy by being immovable in the faith and he will flee. Jesus has set you free, and you are free indeed. We overcome him (the enemy) by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of our testimonies. |
Kobojunkie:To begin with, you said God never commanded the gathering of believers. Are you selectively ignorant to Hebrews 10:25 and Acts 2:42 among others? Many times, God instructed His followers how to live which can be seen as both a command and advice. Tell me, why did Jesus give the five-fold gifts of the church to men making some Apostles, some Prophets, some Evangelists, some Pastors, and some Teachers if the gathering of believers is of no consequence? Which churches was Jesus referring to in the book of Revelations? If He did not command or instruct the gathering of the believers then why was He commending the churches and warning some of them so that they do not lose their salvation? In your third statement, I should let you know that the Bible is the standard for every revelation given by God to man by which we can separate what is true from what is false. The revelation shared by Mary Kathryn Baxter should be held up to the light of the Word of God and judged by it if it is scriptural. If it passes the test, then you condemning it is being in enmity with God. My reply to your third statement simultaneously covers your fourth statement. If otherwise then I ask how you determine the Truth of God to determine what doesn't fit with the Truth. The Bible never opined by directly or otherwise that God would never raise the dead. Jesus raised the dead, the Apostle Paul by the power of God raised the dead. He himself died and was brought back to life and he shared what he saw during the time he died. Many many people have been known to be clinically dead and returned to life defying medical science who shared the reality of the afterlife like the Apostle Paul did. You have deliberately misinterpreted that passage to suit the error of your thinking. |
LilMissFavvy:I understand your sentiment. People like Alex Malarkey come to mind. However, do you stop going to church because there are false pastors? Do you stop believing in a good and righteous God because some people use His name as an excuse to commit evil? Do you stop reading the Bible because some so-called ancient Hebrew scrolls that contradict the Word of God were discovered? Even Christ gave a parable which likened heaven to a situation where a man sowed good seeds and while men slept the enemy planted weed among the good seeds. |
GavelSlam:very true, but the fact that it capsized may underscore the negligence of the boat operator in the aspect of ignoring the capacity of the boat. overweight of passengers must have caused the boat to tilt over. |
a boat carrying 85 persons. this is beyond ridiculous. many deaths in Nigeria are easily avoidable...so unnecessary. this happens over and over again because the law has been sleeping thanks to our lullaby politicians and government heads. then again, my heart breaks at the rate at which people die in Nigeria. what bothers me more is whether this people died prepared for eternity because eternity is the real life, not our earthly years here. |
LordReed:LordReed, the import of your statement shows that you think that the plagues of Egypt will strike you for not believing in Christ. Nothing can be further from the truth. So many unbelievers and believers thrive successfully because God makes His sun shine on the just and the unjust but the difference between both of them is especially revealed when they die physically. You don't believe in the judgment. Why should you when there is 'no proof of the afterlife'? The wisdom of God always lies in these facts: the just shall live by faith, and without faith it is impossible to please God. This runs counter to the need for proof to believe in the unseen world that lies beyond this physical dimension. God will not change His Word because some people need physical verification of His reality. There is no proof but the works of God and believers who will stand as witness against you and other sinners in the Great White Throne judgment. God upholds faith, not proof. Believers and the works of God are all the proof this world will ever get of the reality of the existence of God and eternity. |
Ajay7411:it may sound uncaring but I assure you it is the truth. ...the solid foundation of the LORD stands sure having this seal: "The Lord knows those who are His" You are an atheist to begin with, not you're slowly becoming an atheist. |
Feminist35, there is something else I feel led to tell you and every girl out there. God is a God of abundance. His abundance includes children, a good husband or wife, marital fulfilment, finances...etc. Time is irrelevant to God when He wants to bless you with His abundance if you seek them. A day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years is like a day in the sight of God. Even if you are 60 or 70 years old God can make you leap with the joy of children if you dare to believe Him. My dear, at 35 you are still very very young and fertile and desirable. Mean business with God. Let Him see your seriousness of faith in seeking Him then all other things shall be added. Personally, as a man I only have desires for ladies above 30 years. So, there are men out there like me who are attracted to only 30 yrs and 30-something yrs ladies. Ignore people who say otherwise. |
Feminist35, you are very beautiful and lovely just as you are because you are fearfully and wonderfully made. The only thing I will advice you to do is to stop looking for love in the wrong places. Seek God first because God has that gentleman for you of your dreams somewhere and only He can connect the both of you. God is also a matchmaker. Let go of your bitterness towards the men who have done you wrong and forgive them including the ones on this thread insulting you so as to allow God work His miracles in your life. I say this to all ladies (and men, too)...it is okay to make mistakes. it is okay to be human. All you need is for God to turn your mistakes into miracles because that is one of the things He does for everyone who calls on His name. Remember, you are beautiful and comely. You have so much treasures in you that it takes only one who has an eye for beauty, who sees you the way God sees you to see how beautiful you are. Lastly, please get the book The Fourth Dimension by pastor David Yonggi Cho (he has gone to be with the Lord in eternity). That book is my favourite. Stay blessed. |
Ken4Christ:has argument ever led anyone to Christ? Jesus set an example for us to follow. He did not argue with anyone...none of the Apostles did. They simply explained their reasons for believing in Christ. Please read 2 Timothy 2:23 and Titus 3:9. If you truly love these people and want to see them saved, then travail for their souls in prayer. That will do more good than unprofitable argument for which many have left this nairaland religion section. I hope you understand but if you feel you are called to argue with them...then go ahead. |
We are constantly walking on a thin edge of life daily...like tightrope walkers. Even extreme delicate skill of balance is not enough to help anyone survive unforeseen circumstances — time and chance happens to all. If people knew how extremely dangerous it is to be a whole minute without Christ they will not waste a moment to hide their lives in Christ by surrendering to His Lordship over their lives. We may blame the past or present governor or president or we may blame the truck and its driver but the truth remains that 18 people have unexpectedly lost their lives and are standing in judgment before God, and their only escape from hell is whether they accepted Christ before they died. Sighs. I just wish people can understand the danger of one more second outside Christ.....because death comes in an unexpected second. We may say that their souls should rest in peace but the truth is that if their names are not found in the Book of life peace is forever far from their souls much less rest. Blessed are the ones among them who died in Christ because their souls can truly rest in peace. Ignore the unbelievers and mockers who discredit the truth of the Gospel. You might die before them while they may later accept Christ. Don't be cheated of your inheritance in Christ. Heaven is a very very very personal race. Ignore others and run your race. Do your soul the greatest favour by escaping from hell while on earth by accepting Jesus as your personal Lord and Saviour NOW, not the next minute or hour or day....Now is the acceptable time...of salvation (2 Corinthians 6:2). |
not a judge but you guys should patch things up. however, if that is not possible and you are irredemably incompatible please seek peaceful separation (not divorce). I won't cause a crack in your home by advising you to seek divorce. however, with separation, there is a ray of hope that you will both grow to understand and love each other better. in this case, the wife is the one who should make the major steps in restoring her home. if she truly did those things Ontarioache accused her of then she has a lot of mending and apologising to do and without delay. none of the parties should be condemned because challenges happen to every marriage. |
MaxInDHouse:God is not an author of confusion. His language was and is clear as daylight concerning the reality of a literal hell and heaven. you can't distort the truth by sweeping it under the rug or by giving it a different meaning. truth is very stubborn you will come to find eventually. I am not one to argue. the truth does the argument and it always wins. |
MaxInDHouse:I am a follower of Christ. |
Ken4Christ:while I agree with the things you have said I should let you know that true preaching is not engaging in argument with unbelievers. it is enough that they have heard the Gospel once. your job is done. whatever they do with the Gospel is now left to the Holy Spirit to convict them of their sins or error of their beliefs and repent. we are not called to convince people of the reality of heaven and hell. we are only called to spread the truth which you have done. the argument is so unnecessary...biblically speaking. |
MaxInDHouse:if this is not deliberate and mindless distortion of the scriptures I don't know what else to call it. |
Psych412:those who he killed and butchered like festive season sacrifice are they not someone's son, brother, lover, breadwinner? don't you know that cultists have one primary purpose — to kill and be killed. they recruit people to increase their spate of killing. a cultist is first of all a killer before any other thing. even blood brothers in rival cults seek each other out to kill the other. just imagine that. this is the reason why God has made them to kill each other and drink each other's blood to protect you (the law abiding non-cultist). |
Psych412:let me get this....you are crying over someone who must have killed dozens and dozens of people and probably in like manner? |
Look at guys forming judges over the decisions and mistakes many girls made in their twenties. Michelle70 is right about many girls being the victims of circumstances but self-appointed judges think otherwise that they should be condemned for living. Bunch of hypocrites. As if you are any better than the girls. Guess who we find in the news for cultism, armed robbery, arson, love scam, money rituals, 419, drug deals, touting, political assassination, and the likes.....yeah, your guess is right — men. Men deceive innocent girls, break their hearts and justify their evil by promoting the notion that men are polygamous in nature and still have the effrontery to ridicule them for not being married before their 30s. Evil generation. Bunch of snakes. Keep blaming girls for your woes. Their God will not leave them unfulfilled because you are not their Creator. Nonsense. Michelle70, don't waste your breath on people who are set in their deluded ways. Imagine grown men thinking the opposite sex is their problem in this life...except most of these commenters are toddlers with the privilege of keyboard and the internet. |
Kobojunkie:half-truths are the same as lies. the numbers are still weird. |
Kobojunkie:first, explain the method of verification by Jesus Christ that is logical. |
Kobojunkie:before anything, how did you come up with your statistics? link(s) needed. |
Kobojunkie:salvation by faith in Christ is not substantiated by any logical method of verification but does that make it a lie? |
Kobojunkie:the truth - is. it has no company logo on it. |
