Pls in Agric spacing it may not go mathematically, what we use in surface area here will be the length and width which is 2ft by 2ft which is 4ft , this means that the available space for the birds to move around is 4ft and like u were adviced the broilers of 3.5 will find it difficult to move around very comfortably then of I put the 3ft high into perspective it will serve as their vent space so except u increase your space for me this is small

I did not mock you, but the simplest and almost "most" accurate ceiling board area used by our guy got me. Very easy way to reply you that you have a small space. Again, I showed you, but instead of you to ask the surface area part I used if you did not understand, but you jumped into showing me you know total surface area calculation (just funny to me). Anyway, it's the floor surface area you need to calculate (still 6sqft according to the dimension you gave us). With your level of maths, haba! ... you too should know you have a tiny cage. Anyway, you have a simple answer from my guy, and a detailed one from me. Whichever you choose, best of luck. But oga, your cage is too tiny - straight forward answer. Go construct a bigger cage if you want to enjoy growing chickens - this is what our guy told you nicely...but since you want it spelt out...a don tell you straight forward. You can have 5 to 9kg birds there. Let's interprete it to the standard used by Nigerian farmers (though, can be tweaked). 2 - 3 sqft per broiler. Listen, most grow it to average of 3kg. So, 3kg birds weight = 2 - 3sqft for the standard whoever started it. But it's ok. Yours: L = 3ft, W = 2ft. So, you have 6 sqft. Meaning you can have 2 birds if you grow to 3kg each. This I use for deep liters. If you use mesh as the floor so poo can drop below and you remove poo frequently, I think you can have up to 9kg there. So that if you grow to 3 kg, you have 3 birds. And if you grow to average 2kg, you can have 4 birds.

Therefore, I think you should think of 3 birds and slaughter a bird at 2.5kg. After, allow the rest grow to 3kg or slightly above.

Reconstruct your cage
I think your height should be 1.5ft to minimize space. Then, make it 3 steps. So that you can have 3 birds per step and altogether 9 birds. You can even squeeze it to 12 birds, but slaughter one from each step early.

Note that the above is when you do not want to release them to free range. If free ranging, they can squeeze themselves at higher population at night since they do not eat or drink all through the night (at least most farmers dont care). But if they are overpopulated, some of them will prefer sleeping outside (on top of nearby trees or roofs) and they descend early mornings to eat if you always feed them every morning.

Let there be mesh round the sides and not wood if not free ranging, and provide a tarp to cover all sides at nights. If free ranging, I think you can use wood and no need to use tarp round. Good luck bro!

Yes u can raise cockerels and noilers together but this your measurement is too small am not sure you understand what u measured cos 2by 2 is half of a ceiling board and the smaller ceiling board is 2 by 2 so pls reconsider your measurement

I don't know if it is the same dimension with ceiling board, but the measurement I took is correct, and note this cage is just for testing and family consumption before I venture into commercial breeding. Maybe when I get home I will take a pics of the cage

Thanks guys for the concerns and DMS, luckily for me, I saw my name on the list but it has being a bitter-sweet moment for me since yesterday when I learnt that some of us didn't make the cut for no fault of ours, one can only imagine the anger, disappointment and frustration. I no go lie me sef just weak! (I won't mention names) but that's part of life gird up your loins there are better days ahead trust me.
For those complaining about their registration number being reassigned to other candidates my lil advice will be you should still go to the exams centre and give it a shot we never can tell what will happen at worst they'll send you back but there is nothing God can't do. For those of us that saw our names, this is a means to an end and not the end in itself, we have to double our efforts in preparation for the task ahead as proper preparation prevents poor performance. This year's enlistment exercise is the first time NA is going via the exam route for DSSC/SSC. I believe they're indirectly telling us that our destiny is in our own hands we should make it count and leave the rest to God.
I wish us all a resounding success on Saturday. We will all have a cause to laugh for good.

Documentation as it entails, is like just giving your details now to Nigerian army as your are now a full property of the army after graduating from NDA, you will give details like, Bank information (current account, as most cadets use savings), Pensions, NOk, signing of oath of secrecy and allegiance, for married officers you give name of your spouse and 4 children (if u have up to) plus 1 dependent for free medical purpose, and any other personal details and documents for army records

I don't know for this set o, but the first time silent drills was introduced at POP (63RC), it was the passing out cadets of the champion battalion that did it.
