bloodyBLOGGER: We are not saying all states should have double, but that the proposed one should not be cancelled because there are funds for it. Let's not be deceived, they won't channel the fund to any Niger Delta project. If kashere can have a federal university, why not Okerenkoko? |

mrvitalis: You are wrong !Maritime Academy has its own specialization while Maritime University has its own. Remember because of Maritime Academy's specialization that's why the school is regimented. Though it can still be upgraded with a different purpose from the proposed Maritime University. Why is National institute of transport technology Zaria not upgraded to handle aviation, instead they created another institute of aviation, still in the same town. My brother, is just an agenda. They want to kill it for Niger Deltans. Why can't Niger Delta have two Maritime institutions as Zaria town alone? |

Politics / My Take On Ameachi's Cancellation Of Maritime University by Pk001(m): 3:38pm On Jan 20, 2016 |
This is what Ameachi said
I am really surprise with this Ameachi's action. He will surely regret this action. Zaria alone has two Transport institutions. He thinks that NITT couldn't have been upgraded to handle aviation as well, but they chose to keep the two institutions? They want to kill the university project just the way they killed Lagos light rail. Next we will hear is , Maritime University "Lokoja" Hmmm he is talking of upgrading Maritime Academy Oron. Oron is a monotechnic specialized to train sea fearers. The proposed university is specialized to train Engineers, ship designers and ship builders inclusive of all matiime structures. Bros Ameachi, you are not a true Niger Deltan if you kill this project. Niger Delta might Never have such opportunity again. You are talking of those that will attend the school. Who are those that attend Oron? Who are those that go to Zaria? Don't you know that it is the institutions that made both Oron and Zaria Popular? FYI Zaria is the town that has the highest number of Federal government institution in the Country, that's why it became popular and developed. Okerenkoko can also be the same if given same opportunity. I urge all Niger Deltans to stand up and speak against this decision. The northerners will never do this to their regions, what Ameachi just did or is trying to do. 6 Likes 2 Shares |

Nonsense! They want someone that won only 5 local governments out of 16 to be declared winner just because she belongs to the ruling party? Even if they claim that there was no primaries in PDP, the mandate still belongs to PDP. Or better still,INEC should declare a rerun. What is mama Taraba afraid of? If she is popular as claimed, she will win.But going through the backdoor I'd totally wrong. I trust Tarabas they will never give her a chance if is done legitimately. |

Politics / Carwash Licence In Abuja? by Pk001(m): 3:37pm On Sep 29, 2015 |
I listened to an advert this morning on Raypower FM saying that all Carwash in Abuja must be licensed. I agree with licencing of certain kind of businesses but not Carwash in Abuja. All I think is required is having a kind of permit from Development Control (which has been in existence anyway) that will ensure that the Carwash location is proper for that business. What actually baffled me with the advert was that they said Carwash are polluting the environment and that they are contributing to blocking of drainages. How abeg? Furthermore they said that they will impound any vehicle that patronizes an unlicensed Carwash. Hmmmmmm. Is that a joke? Is it the car or the carwash that is licensed? Thank God I wash my car at home. If the Carwash centres are polluting the environment, then anywhere you wash your car is also polluting the environment. I think the FCT just want to generate aggressive revenue from these SME's that are just managing to be alive. This is not the change we expect ooo. My advice is that they look somewhere else to generate better revenue rather harassing the public. The way they are going, their enforcing personnels might just be overzealous and even impound someone's car for washing it outside his house, just the way they are doing with outside signage law, because some Carwash in Abuja only have bucket and water. I don't agree with this Carwash licence in Abuja for now, they should first wait when there is justifiable complain from the public, cos it will only close down the small carwash centres, increase unemployment and increase the cost of car washing. |

Style Indeed! The fact that he wore something that looks good on him doesn't mean he has style. no doubt he looks good on this outfit, but check out his room setting. Expensive Mirror, expensive rug, cheap refrigerator, with local arrangement of bottles on it, is that style? Is not what you wear, is how you wear it that's style. Is not how expensive your room is, is how it is arranged, that's style. Am sure we will notice more inconsistencies if we view the whole room. Please post more pictures so that we can thoroughly analyse his style |

omowolewa: ^^You are wrong . The President is NOT free to choose anyone as The Head of a National Security Agency. He can choose anyone to be his personal security Head but not National Security Head. Secondly appointing an APC card carrying member as Head of DSS already compromises the position. Is like appointing a PDP member to be the Inspector General of Police or Head of EFCC. That is why it was even wrong for PMB to and bring someone from retirement to Head the Sensible Intelligence security Agency. Lots of classified information will be leaked. Once you are retired, you free to join any political Party, but you cannot head a National Security Agency. 6 Likes |

Executive stalemate: Nigeria’s new regime grounded in confusion ...Choosing a wheelbarrow as an official car does not make a president morally decent and fiscally astute; it only exposes his ignorance to issues of fiscal policies. ...Choosing a wheelbarrow as an official car does not make a president morally decent and fiscally astute; it only exposes his ignorance to issues of fiscal policies. Cartoon collage/Anthony Ogbo, Guardian News Unable to choose his working team, Nigeria's President Muhammadu Buhari has been struggling to kick-off a regime he bragged so much about. The All Progressives Congress APC, it may be recalled, ran an electioneering race projecting their candidate, now the president, as a fiscally astute conservative who would curb corruption and appropriately manage the country’s economic and financial resources. The masses at this time are getting something entirely different. While Buhari, a former dictator backflips with official duties in a representative system unfamiliar to his individual aptitude, his camp has been busy showcasing him with falsehood and deceptive fairy tales. To substitute for total lack of answers for his regime catastrophe, the APC social media warriors have been feeding disappointed masses with some worthless cock-and-bull tales of what is now termed the ‘Buhari Wonders.” The first fake story to justify Buhari’s humility, and considerateness to money matters came during the government transition period, when the APC claimed that predecessor, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan presented a billion naira budget for delegates’ lunch, but Buhari the “good money-manager” declined any expenses, saying that his transition team would bring their own lunch. Meanwhile this president was in London at the time on a controversial mission not properly communicated to his constituents. A similar story yet made it to the network from the Buhari’s camp on how during the South Africa’s trip, Buhari paid the hotel bills for his staff, and asked the rest of the entourage to pay their own bills. This was a president yet to name a single staff till date. The propaganda continued with another rumor that hundreds of politicians, including the Petroleum Minister, Alison-Madueke had returned billions of Dollars stolen from the government – because they were afraid of Buhari the “respected honest money-keeper” and disciplinarian. It is despicable that at this crucial time in the regime, the APC social media ensemble, running out of Buhari praise-worship songs are busy telling self-indulgent stories including comparing Buhari and Jonathan’s cars, use of presidential jets, Buhari’s choice of transportation, and ostensibly his suya flavor. But how long would they continue to feed the masses with these tommyrots. As I write, the Buhari’s camp in the social media are still tagging around senseless stories about Buhari opting to fly in the economy class over first class; or choosing Okada over official convoy; or proposing to be eating on the floor instead of an official dining table; or heading to Alhaji Suya "bukateria" for his inauguration dinner rather than the traditional Aso-Rock in-house executive banquet. Major questions remain – when would Nigerians start getting substantial information about the running of the government? Where are the ‘missing girls’? When is this ‘change’ going to start? Where is the unemployment salaries? Where are Buhari’s ministers? Who has been making all decisions so far? Is this still a democracy? Indeed, Buhari and those who bejeweled him into his current executive predicament have been facing a more complicated political landscape. Even as Buhari announced as a terror-defense strategy, a relocation of the country’s armory to Borno State, Nigeria has remained under a terrorist attacks. In fact, last Monday's suicide bombing at a crowded fish market occurred in the northeastern city of Maiduguri – the same region where the regime relocated its arsenal. Let us be clear then – that a president chose a wheelbarrow as an official car does not make him morally decent and fiscally astute; it only exposes his ignorance to issues of fiscal policies. Buhari, and indeed his Yahoo drum-beaters should explain their frameworks and preparedness to fiscal reformation. They should tell Nigerians how the regime can sustain in the long run, the existing spending, policies, and tax - without jeopardizing Nigeria’s creditworthiness, obligations or projected expenses. Without Ministers; not a single known adviser, and without any working team besides obsequious cohorts who worship him, President Buhari is already abusing his official duties, making contradictory policy comments, dictating unmanageable strategy undertakings, and flip-flopping with dire issues of national significance. As a matter of urgency, the masses are waiting for their new president to at least acquaint them with his plans to proceed. They want to hear about the machinery to translate electoral promises into action, not about limousines, and jets. In a government structure where the President cannot communicate, cannot relate, and worse, cannot corroborate his own policies, there is every reason to worry. It is torturing that under the current regime, citizens have to rely on repentant party bloggers to know the fate of their current economic woes. http://www.examiner.com/article/executive-stalemate-nigeria-s-new-regime-grounded-confusion
