kambo: All these mog that want to impose their ideologies on their members. Sure there are idolatarous scents around chrstian holidays like easter and christmas owg to the odious pagan influence of catholicsm but tht doesnt warrant thrwg the baby out wth d bath water.
Re educate members and excise the pagan aspect.
Its even unbiblical to not celebrate.
Wen God created the wrld he commemorated it.
Wen God promised to never destroy d wrld with a flood he commemorated it with a rainbow.
When God slew d frst born of egypt and finally broke pharoah's obstinacy ,he commemorated it with d feast of passover.
How much more shudnt d church commemorate d day a MAN wud b born to save the wrld from sin.
It shudnt b treated like another day. It's GOD birthday.
The attitude shud b diffrent though its not a time for hedonistic feastg but godly rejoicg.
How can you say this?

“Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.” (John 1:1-3)

“For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him.” (Colossians 1:16)

You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honour and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being.” (Revelation 4:11)

Everything in existence was made by God.
This means that God has preceded eveything. So there could have been nothing that made G od. Ha has always existed, HE can't have a birthday. He has no specific start time. But man has fabricated one and tagged it to God.

“Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come.” (Revelation 4:8

Joshthefirst: My tithe goes to the church.
We also give to the widows and needy.

We also give to the pastors. We also give for church projects.

We give most of all as the spirit leads in love.

You are not in any position to speak against giving.

Why should my pastor not have good clothes?

My duty is to obey God as the Spirit leads in love. God will judge the pastor or whomever if he

abuses his position.
Why giving to someone that is already rich?
Christianity Etc › Re: Where Does Your Tithe Go To by plappville(f): 6:00am On Dec 08, 2013
This is touching. Blind Christians will keep pleasing Thier over rich pastors and claim they are paying tithe to God......Oh Africans, Oh Nigerians, this is primitiveness.

alexleo: Now when you read people's post you cool down and understand it before replying. What I wrote is a general advice to everyone including me. I never said I have a perfect interpretation. If you read my past posts you ll see that I have been saying that no human being or church is perfect in interpreting the bible. Whether you READ your bible o or you STUDY it o, make sure you are doing it with the help of the Holy Spirit. I don't even see anything wrong in the point I made except you have another thing in mind. If I have a perfect interpretation then I wouldn't be saying am here to learn. Check all my posts you won't see where I said am here to teach rather you ll only see me say am here to learn and share my little knowledge. And you are right, some of us are boasting that's why I want all of us to cool down and behave like students who are just learning. Not people behaving as if they are perfect. Personally I use to see sunday as holy and untouchable day until I came accross the bible verses I quoted to you then it became clear to me that everyday is equal. The bible verse you quoted here which you said a sister gave to you, I ve also learnt more from it. We keep learning. Thanks.
Its all ok, may God help us all. Thanks for your earliest contributions. GOD bless.

alexleo: That's ok but I ll also add that we should read the bible with the Holy Spirit's interpretations. Reading the bible is not the main thing but let your understanding of it or interpretations be powered by the Holy Spirit. Atheists read bible too but misinterprete it. Same goes to false preachers.
Don't try to speak as if your interpretations are perfect. I can as well tell you samething. Some of us in NL are boastful.making others feel they have not the Holy Spirit. You don't know my relations with God, so u cannot know if I am lead by the Holy spirit or not. Vise/versa. I don't read the bible, I study it. I will keep saying it. Only Yahweh knows who truely worship him in Spirit.

winner95: Don't mis-interprete the bible, the bible penalize the using of all kind of jewelries.....
1 Peter 3: 3-5
"3 Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of braiding the hair, and of wearing gold, or of putting on of apparel; 4 But let it be the hidden man of heart the heart.........."
May the Lord God have mercy on us, this is infact, what is leading many of we youths to the wrong path.....mis-interpretation of the bible', anyway am not suprised, the bible has already told us that at ''the end time the perilous time will come people will be doing what they like......'' and I'm sure the end time is here already.
If I give you list of prophets, priest of God etc that made use of precious stuffs like gold, silver.....you will see that you are the one misinterpreting the bible. When Jesus disciples were accused by the Pharisees for plucking crops on the Sabbath day. Jesus used David as an example. They kept Thier mouth shot. Follow biblical examples and not man traditions by twisting scriptures to match it up.

truthislight: The laws God gave was 613, are to keep all or we are to keep some and leave some ?

If yes, we are to keep all, are you doing that ?

If no, we are to keep some and leave some, is that possible ?

See:

"For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in 'all' things which are written in the book of the law to do them." (Galatians 3:10).

Is it possible to keep some and leave some of the laws of moses ? You be the judge.

The two commandment that christ gave covers all what a christian need to do and beyond.

The principles of the whole 613 laws are captured in the two laws of christ, namely:

love of God and love of your fellow man.

I still suggest you look into this again.

Peace.
My broda thanks alot. I had a chat with one sister on Wednesday. She gave me two verses.

Ephesians 2:13-16 and Colossians 2:13-14 .
These verses explained better. Thanks once again. God bless.

pweetiedee: lets be factual, christianity isn't bondage. When Jesus came,he made clear d commandments. Read mark 7,galatians 5. He broke this commandments into two:love your God,Love ur neighbour as yourself. Ever since before Jesus came, fashion has been in existence. Read Esther, she was beautified,or dyu think Esther and d oda virgins did not contest? It was a beauty contest. Esther made up,she wore earings(jews wear earings, necklaces, nose rings and even ankle chains) david, saul and some other kings adorned demselves with golds!even the women. God wants us to dress decently, ladies shouldnt wear revealing clothes, wear modest dresses that fit u and luk btiful on you, make up in a modest way, take care of your skin and hair. Pls,dere is nuffinn bad in using relaxers! Takia of ur hair and get rid of dat awful smell. Use cleasers to clean ur face. God doesnt appreciate dirty ppl. He gave us beauty,u av to show it. Ladies and guys, stop indecent dressing! God doesnt like it. Pastors of nowadays av fashioned christianity to their own tastes,it is now a doctrine, diff churches with diff doctrines.sum support earings, some dont, some support weavons, some dont, but as christians,God purposely gave us the bible so we can understand, knw d comandments, keep the commandments. Do not dress indecently, too much of make up makes u ugly. May God give us the Grace to do his own will. Amen
My sister I weak for black race Christians oooh....if we are to follow biblical women. Then we cannot be seen as unholy because we wear nice clothes or use gold or silver bracelet/ring. You have said it all. Modesty is the word in the BIBLE.

redcliff: the passage did not say i shouldnt wear clothes. Clothing is essential but what empasis it is trying to bring out is that you should not spend so much time on adornment of cothing
DId it says you shouldn't use gold or braid ur hair?

Haba madame, the protagonist here was likening the upliftment of his inner man with worldly adornment. this is not the word from the lord is it? the person here was using an instance to liken another doesn't mean he's actually into it.

Should it be sin/wrong to use jewels, he wouldn't have used these words.

truthislight: Sis, is that ^ the truth and nothing But, the truth ?

can you kindly show us where such instruction is given to christians ?

Is there no scripture that says that "let no one judge you on the observance of a day sabbath" ?

Ma sis, can you kindly look/visit this matter again ?

I trust you will do well.

The truth is that THE SABBATH IS PART OF THE 10 COMMANDEMENT. And God will not judge anyone that observe it. It is best to be in the safest side. Scriptures used to backup the annulation of Gods Sabbath might have being misinterpreted centuries ago.

truthislight: sis, is that ^ generalisation not two much ?

To some people, there is no difference between a worship on saturday and a sunday even tuesdays.
Ma broad sorry if I have generalised. I don't mean the worship days, but the rest DAY. The NT shows that the Apostles gathered together in other days of the week.IT also told that the rest day which is on Saturday they did observed. Very few people observed Saturday today. Worshiping God everyday has nothing to do with erasing the Sabbath.

redcliff: He doesnt look at the otward but you have forgotten that in

1 Corinthians 6:19 it says:
Don't you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, and this temple must be kept holy and acceptable

Romans 12:1
Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God--this is your true and proper worship.

Deut 22: 5
“A woman shall not wear a man's garment, nor shall a man put on a woman's cloak, for whoever does these things is an abomination to the Lord your God.

now tell me, where is the garment being worn? body or soul?
Yes the use of gold does not defiles ur body. Biblical righteous figures are proof. When u fornication etc u sure have defiled ur body.

1 Peter 3:3 Do not let your adorning be external—the braiding of hair and the putting on of gold jewelry, or the clothing you wear—

DO U STILL WEAR CLOTHES AFTER READING THIS VERSE? If yes why ? Remember it says *DO NOT LET UR ADORING*

Isaiah 61:10 I will greatly rejoice in the Lord; my soul shall exult in my God, for he has clothed me with the garments of salvation; he has covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decks himself like a priest **with a beautiful headdress**, and as a bride adorns herself **with her jewels.**

Ezekiel 16:12 And I put a ring on your nose and earrings in your ears and a beautiful crown on your head.

redcliff: I would like to clear the airwaves on this. To the best of my understanding, As we know RCCG is a really big church. Adeboye preaches the undiluted word of God. For Linda to say God told her that the are on their are deviating.....look for yourself, most RCCG churches these days are guilty of whatever she said. They wear trousers, makeups, braids, jewelries and what have you. The church is too big for him (Adeboye) to go around whenever there is service to tell people not to do all these things. He speaks from the altar and its left to you as his follower to either obey or likewise but you find out that most of his members do not hacken to these wordings. In the same gathering you would see a worker wearing trousers in the house of God. I feel the problem is not from Him (Adeboye) but the people who he has under him that manage sectors of his church. e.g, provincial pastors, parish pastors, zonal heads, deacon, deaconesses and the likes. who do not resound these warnings time and again to their congregation they have been mandated to lead

Let them say what they want, false prophets and false revelations are everywhere. If e no dey biblical, then na false witness.
This is a bitter truth. Gods people do rest on Saturdays according to scripture. But today, Christians do rest on Sundays, Sunday is an official rest day for both believer and none believers. Christians accepted this because it was commanded by the church.

truthislight: Not 'you' judging, but, from what the bible teaches, will God judge christians for observing or not observing "a sabbath day"(saturday)
The Sabbath is a part of the Ten Commandments. This alone for ever settles ur questions, God will not judge s Christians that observed it. As for not observing it, if this whole thing happens to be misinterpretationa, then those that doesn't observe it will be judge. Since there is no command whatsoever that canceled it.
