These days people no longer want to know the rationale behind why we use the veil. They honestly do not care to know, they just want us to humour them, they just want an avenue to sow misguided thoughts into our minds. Enough of being an apologist Muslim already. Why do I have to always explain to anybody why I wear the Hijaab? I do not question you when you make your hair into six different colours, looking like a rainbow, or when you squeeze yourself into those ripped Jean trousers looking like a mad person. Why is my Hijaab suddenly your concern? You said it made me look like an extremist, I tried being 'liberal' by compromising a few times but still, you have decided to remain ignorant. I refuse to be a 'liberal' Muslim if it means being a puppet to your humour shows. I'm sorry if my consistent beliefs seem extreme to you, I simply answer to the Almighty and this servitude requires steadfastness, which you might have no clue about, considering the fact that your 'fashion trends' are always changing and you have to keep up with the trends to seek pseudo-fulfillment from a bunch of males who have objectified you. I'd rather be the most faithful servant to Allah, than the most beautiful girl of any pageant. Beauty queens wear their crowns for only a year or two, my reward for faithfulness (Jannah) is FOREVER! Here's that the Quran say;

Al-Mumenoon, Verse 96:
ادْفَعْ بِالَّتِي هِيَ أَحْسَنُ السَّيِّئَةَ نَحْنُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا يَصِفُونَ

[But whatever they may say or do,] repel the evil [which they commit] with something that is bet­ter: We are fully aware of what they attribute [to Us].

And whosoever does not judge by what Allah has revealed, such are the disbelievers), because they rejected Allah's command with full intention and with transgression and rebellion. In this Ayah, Allah said, (such are the unjust), because they did not exact the oppressed his due rights from the oppressor in a matter which Allah ordered that all be treated equally and fairly. Instead, they defied that command, committed injustice and transgressed against each other.

Ali bin Abi Talhah reported that Ibn Abbas commented that ﺕ (But if anyone remits the retaliation by way of charity) means; "If one pardons by way of charity, it will result in expiation for the aggressor and reward for the victim.'' Sufyan Ath-Thawri said that Ata bin As-Sa'ib said that Sa`id bin Jubayr said that Ibn Abbas said, "He who pardons the retaliation by way of charity, it will be an expiation for the aggressor and a reward for the victim with Allah.'' Ibn Abi Hatim recorded this statement. Jabir bin Abdullah said that Allah's statement, ﺕ (But if anyone remits the retaliation by way of charity, it shall be for him an expiation), "For the victim.'' This is also the opinion of Al-Hasan Al-Basri, Ibrahim An-Nakhai and Abu Ishaq Al-Hamdani. Imam Ahmad recorded that Ubadah bin As-Samit said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah saying, ﺝﺝﻡیﺝﻡﻡﺕﻡﻡ Any man who suffers a wound on his body and forfeits his right of retaliation as way of charity, then Allah will pardon him that which is similar to what he forfeited. An-Nasa'i and Ibn Jarir recorded this Hadith. Allah's statement, ﻥیﻡ And whosoever does not judge by that which Allah has revealed, such are the unjust. Earlier we mentioned the statements of Ata and Tawus that there is Kufr and lesser Kufr, injustice and lesser injustice and Fisq and lesser Fisq.

These verses and many similar other existing in Quran, but OP deem to uplift the one that will suit his argument. This was great injustice.

The interpretation of Holy Quran to all the Muslims was not just what an individual can handle any how that was the obvious reason for Ahlusunnah to worn us that, if you want to interpret Quran make sure that you have intense knowledge of the following :
1. Ilmul Kalam
2. History (Islamic)
3. Hadith
4. Jurisprudence (Islamic theology)
5. Hulumul Quran
These will let you do the interpretation correctly..... But look at what Op posted here? Some people will believe that the verse was actually preaches vengeance

Honestly I don't blame you, the problem is more that what I can solve here and the more I duel this the controversial it will be.
But my friend, Muslims all over the world at the inception face enemy of various groups and at different part of the world each with different plan to reck the progress it recorded of which no religion ever had such a record before and never another one will have it.
If you argue that Muslims are this and that, it wasn't perplx, even during the life time of our dear Prophet (SAW), many disguys, escalated and aggravated violence, when talking about sobiyyun of Syria and Persians of Iraq up till the era of Abasid dynasty founded by Muawiyya, most of Muslims leaders then were murdered by their associates who are imposter.
My friend. I understand your concern but my problem with most you was, if we Muslims with genuine reasons are trying to explain the truth about the whole issue even yelling at very top of our voices you wouldn't believe us instead those who are portray Islam in bad image you will support.
The very incident you mentioned about, reminds me of my personal write up on pressTV the very day the incident happened not only this, many Muslims took to Street condemning the incident likewise most of Islamic leaders of the world, if truly you follow the reports about the scenario, did you commend them even in your write up.
It is unfair to castigate a whole group while those did the attacks were just minority and painfully the imposter.

Surah 3:45: Behold! The angels said:
“O Mary! Allah giveth Thee glad
tidings of a WORD FROM HIM : his
name will be Christ Jesus. The son
of Mary, held in honor in this world
and the Hereafter and of (the
company of) those nearest to
Allah;” (Yusuf Ali)

Surah 4:171: “Christ Jesus the son of
Mary was (no more than) an apostle
of God, and HIS WORD, which he
bestowed on Mary, and a Spirit
proceeding from him: so believe in
God and His apostles.” (Yusuf Ali)

In Surah 4:171, Jesus is called, “His Word.” And in Surah 3:45 the Qur’an
states that Allah gave Mary a glad tidings “of a Word from Him.” In the original Arabic, the expression used here is “kalimatim-minhu.” It means kalmia (word), min (from), hu (him). It is of vital importance for Muslims to note that Jesus is the only Prophet who ever lived, who is called a Word from God.
Centuries before the Qur’an came into
existence, this same title was given to
Jesus in the Bible:

John 1:14: “And the Word became
flesh and made is dwelling among
us. We have seen his glory, the glory
of the one and only Son who came
from the father, and he was full of
undeserved kindness and truth.”

Revelation 19:13: “…the name by
which he is called is the Word of
God.”

But why is Jesus called the “Word of God”? In view of the fact that the Qur’an
attributes this title to Jesus without
explanation, it is in the Bible that we find the ultimate meaning of this term. He is designated as such not only during his life here on earth but also during his pre-human spirit existence in heaven. Furthermore, the Bible book of
Revelation reveals that even after his
heavenly resurrection, Jesus is still
known as the “Word of God.” Biblical
titles often describe the function served
or the duty performed by the bearer. For instance, in Exodus 4:16, it is stated that God made Aaron the “mouth” or the “spokesman” of Moses, saying:

“He must speak for you to the people;
and it must occur that he will serve as
a mouth to you, and you will serve as
God to him.”

In a similar way Jesus served as the
Mouth, or Spokesman, for his Father, the great King of Eternity. He was God’s Word of communication for conveying
information and instructions to the
worshippers of God here on earth. Prior
to Jesus’ coming to earth, on many of the occasions when God communicated with humans he used Jesus as his angelic mouthpiece. Showing that Jesus
continues to serve as his Father’s
Spokesman, or Word, Jesus told his
listeners:

John 12:49-50: “I have not spoken out
of my own impulse, but the Father
himself who sent me has given me a
commandment as to what to tell and
what to speak….Therefore the things I
speak, just as the Father has told me
them, so I speak them.”

The ascriptions “His Word” and “a Word
from Him” are unique in the Qur’an. In
spite of all appearances of reverence
towards the person of Christ, Muslim
apologists secretly view him as a rival to
the grandeur of Muhammad. Therefore,
it should not surprise us when they try to simplify the profound and unique titles of Jesus Christ.

Note that the word 'Spirit' starts with capital 'S'.

Jesus wasn't an ordinary man, He only ASSUMED the likeness of a man, a 'perfect' man. The quran is a revelation of plenty of FALSEHOOD mixed with little truth to deceive mankind. If it is total FALSEHOOD, nobody would accept it, hence satan told a little truth so that he would confront you on the Last Day that he had told you before. Just like he told muslims the truth that they will be thrown to hell in quran 19:68-72 & 3:185.
