He reminded them of the laws because they were trying to trap him down for breaking thier traditions. Jesus came to fulfilled the law. The law was too heavy for them. They no longer have to kill animals to beg thier God anytime they sin. The true and last lamb has come to save them from the bordens they were carrying. You will agree with me that Jesus's disciples will not dare eat without washing hands of they were not to be with Jesus. They understood they were with the maker of the law himself. Since Jesus did not rebuke his Disciples for doing such, it means it was supposed to be acceptable. There were certain laws that were not supposed to be. But because Gods people were difficult, God now creat this laws to guide them. Sure it was normal that Jesus had to tell them they disobey God's law. But He later proved it that those laws will be fulfilled by him. He broke down the Sabbath law to them too. They didnt fully understand what the sabbath really means. But he told them. The sabbath was made for man not man for the Sabbath. In Matthew 15:10-20 He teacheth that not that which goeth into the mouth, but that which cometh out of it, defileth a man. You can see how Christ himself came to define things to them . But thier envy and pride wouldn't allow them to accept him.
