I think i have already explained that, we are arguing in circles. Blyss is an AA who has more experience with such things, maybe he can articulate it better.
You've never heard a "nigga" calling his gf a "byytch" in an "endearing" manner? LOL!
Ok, what is the positive connotation behind nigga?
look, you came here to dispute everything i say. That is obvious

If you don't want to accept my opinion on the usage of 'Nigga' ask Blyss. He can explain it for you.

Mrs Chima you are pathetic. This is why i avoid discussing anything of importance with you, you default to half baked personal attacks. I wont engage in that today.

Anyway, my post still stands. Merge i am sure you are the type of women that can understand what i am saying. If you don't, leave a mature response and we can discuss it like adults.
CultureRe: Is African Culture Becoming Ghetto Culture? by pleep(op): 7:15am On Jul 27, 2012
^ Relax, generalizations are things that are generally true. Last time i was in Nigeria i saw the negatives of hip-hop culture everywhere, from the weaves to the language to the rap videos on every TV! Just because you don't do something doesn't mean it doesn't exist, can yall stop being babies about this and just accept the obvious?
PhysicsQED: Tell that to female rappers.
I knew someone was going to say that. grin

Jambitos.
Always heard them referred to as guy'yoyo or guy-man.
Negro huh?? Can a chick buy a vowelhuh WTF are you talking about? You got five threads' comments all in broken paragraphs! You are so discombobulated even the Mods were like Bleep it....

Merge is talking about many of you black men needing to grow a back bone and stop comparing your worth by your dick size. Leave Black men to their interracial issues?!! What the Bleep does that have to do with Black womenhuhhuh?

Can somebody loan me some vowelshuhhuhhuh
Huh? huh My writing is hard to understand? please explain, to me it looks much better than yours.
Merge is talking about many of you black men needing to grow a back bone and stop comparing your worth by your Joystick size. Leave Black men to their interracial issues?!! What the Bleep does that have to do with Black women
Merge is talking about "black men are easy and cheap" "black men are nothing". If that is all a conscious black women can say about us then yall need to stop talking. You are not doing the race any good.

That post was offensive because even if it was valid it comes from a place of hypocrisy. Men are not any more to blame for these issues than women are. When you attack a group of people like this they will attack you in the same way, it will turn into a fight and make both groups have more animosity towards each other.

Like i said earlier, black women are as much to blame for our situation as us men are. You guys are also just as disordered when it comes to relationships with other races. So deal with these problems before you attack us, or you will come across as a hypocrite.
If you make X, then you'd much prefer selling having a potential market of 7 billion people, rather than just the 160 million in Nigeria.

You'll get a higher price for your goods that way.

And at the end of the day, all of us are selling something..

Anyway, one can certainly argue for "protecting" local producers from external competition. But I don't think anyone would argue against those same local producers selling to the highest bidder, whether the buyer is from Nigeria or Nicaragua..
Your right, that is the principle the whole global economy is based on. But seeing as we are selling nothing but oil (little employment created), do you think Nigeria should stay in this system?

It would not very isolationist, but yea i wouldn't argue against local producers selling their stuff in Nicargua it brings their money into our economy. But they would be fools to buy from a country that doesn't reciprocate.

ebere1712: Anybody that does not see anything wrong with our leaders' incessant quest (begging) for foreign investors is an astute mo*ron.
It goes to show that education means nothing if you don't have the ability to see past what you are taught. Its pathetic, some very educated Africans will support ridiculous economic theories just because that is what they were taught in school.

Personally I have a problem with any sort of foreign investment. Even if it creates jobs and services that make the economy grow, there will always be a net flow of wealth out of the country. At its core any foreign investment is for profit, the bulk of which are going to the shareholders offshore. Nigeria's goal should be to recirculate wealth inside the country and never let it leave.

dasparrow: They dictate what our leaders should do like the IMF and world bank backed subsidy removal mandate that has plummeted many Nigerians into abject poverty and more.
PS: I will be back on this thread to make sure my post did not grow wings and fly away into oblivion since lately a few of my posts have been mysteriously disappearing. Peace, out!
lol the moderators are getting crazy on this site, i have had more than 20 posts banned in the last few weeks. But that might be because I curse too much grin

That whole IMF fuel subsidy crap opened my eyes. I had always suspected the IMF's involvement in screwing over the 3rd world, but in the back of my head i always thought it was a conspiracy theory. Now its been proven beyond doubt, there was NO befnefit in removing the subsidy. Advice like that could only come from someone purposely trying to ruin Nigeria.

It's like calling your wife byyytch and calling your son bastard.
You are just arguing for the sake of it.

Its not a good thing, which is why i said it was a bad habit. The words bitch & bastard have no positive connotation. A words meaning is primarily dependent on the speakers intention and the listeners interpretation of it.

You know that even fatazz women calls themselves phat and wants to be called phat too right? Twisting spelling of words does not decrease the degree of it's meaning.

No offense.
PoliticsRe: The Irony Of Nigerian Flag by pleep(m): 4:42am On Jul 27, 2012
Nigeria's flag should be black, (for oil) red, (for blood) and black, (more oil) with a little green stripe across the middle to keep the North Nigerians happy. grin
For realz, when I first saw a few of your posts (before I saw your PP) I thought you were smart. Obviously, long azz epistle is not a good judge of character.

Stop with your ignorance. . . . how's nigger and nigga different? They hold the same connotation, just spelled different.
It's like calling a fat girl Phat.
Nigga is often used as a term of endearment, i am ashamed to admit i use the term with my brother and other black males.
Nigger is simply the white pronunciation of this word, usually used as a racial slur.

likewise, Phat and fat are also different. Phat refers to a curvaceous female while fat refers to obesity. But of course, there is some overlap with both words.

BTW. whats with all the personal attacks huh
RomanceRe: Why Do British Girls Love To Date Black Guys... by pleep(m): 4:26am On Jul 27, 2012
lol, nice post Vodkat.

It kinda proves my point though, if you women are really interested in racial unity you would leave this issue to us men to sort out by ourselves. When you guys attack black men, like the way you have merge, you should expect a similar, and justified response.

This usually turns into a back and forth that actually divides the race more. So please, if you have ears let us handle this issue on our own. Females also have serious IR issues that you should be addressing.

Why have i never seen a black women speak about those?
CultureRe: Is African Culture Becoming Ghetto Culture? by pleep(op):
@ mrs chima Nigga and Nigger are two very different words.

But that is not the only point addressed in this topic, you guys cant deny that Africa imitates many facets of hip-hop culture. Most of which i think are negative.

Kobojunkie: How do you people come up with these ridiculous threads? So you log on to Nairaland, purposefully click the link to the Politics section, and start thinking of creating a thread to ask some ridiculous questions/make inane statements like the one you have there? No one said it was "sooo offensive"

All i said was that she is angry and argumentative, which is true. And also she is very supportive of European and american interests. This is also the truth no?
PoliticsRe: Nigeria must leave the global economy. by pleep(op):
Sun of god: Expand on your statement . . .

Are you proposing we go down the route of 'North Korea'?
Interesting question, however there is a big difference between North Korea and Nigeria. North Korea does not have all the resources needed to sustain itself as an isolated entity. There is not enough farmland or materials in the country for the people to survive. This is why when the soviet union fell its people starved. They never intended for their economy to be isolated, they were co-dependent on Russia and China for oil and food in return for military hardware and political support.

In Africa we have everything we need. Africa has enough farmland to feed the whole world, plastics, oil and every other resource needed to locally produce everything we import.

Suuuuuuper BUMP!
PoliticsNigeria must leave the global economy. by pleep(op):
It is time Africa embraced isolationism. The way I see it, this is the only good economic system for African countries.

The goal must be to stop all importation, and lessen our focus on exportation so that we can separate ourselves from the world economy. When everything we use is created at home we will have jobs for all our people. Over-dependence on importation is the main cause of the widespread poverty on the continent. We get everything from foreign countries, Africa is the dumping ground for the worlds crap, clothing and plastics from Asia, cars and electronics from Europe & America.

We will never make it in the global economy, even if we become G-20 the magority of Nigerians will still be poor. Economic growth means nothing if people are unemployed. Globalism is like a pyramid, the 3rd world forms the base. Leaving the global economy is the only way we get get real improvement in Nigerians quality of life.
